Hump Day

Well I was going to go out and do some listing today for RTI, however UPS seems to have had some trouble fining where my house is and all the materials that were next day'd to me last week, still have not arrived so that means no listing today.

I did get a number of things done yesterday, I had to go to the bank and sign fraud reports and agree to prosecute whoever they find that did this, provided it's not just a simple error. One payment I can understand, but they paid off three credit cards so I'm wondering if it really was as accident.

Michelle's stone still has not worked it's way out, the surgeon should be calling her soon to set up a time and a date for a surgery to have this stone taken out. Yesterday was the first day back from a holiday weekend, so hopefully she'll be hearing something today.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* It's Tuesday and everyone is returning to work today, you know what what means.

* There have been 19,539 days since I was born, of course I use the 930 day calendar and that officially makes me still just 21 years old.

* It has been 4,762 days since I graduated from West Virginia University. It has been 13 years since I took my walk and sometimes it seems like just yesterday.

* It has been 3,363 days since my life changed forever and I took Michelle out on our very first date.

* I had made her wait long enough, so 2,587 days ago I proposed marriage to her.

* We have been blissfully married for 2,124 days now and still going strong. I am a very lucky man to say the very least.

* I have about 5,297 days to go until I enter the world of retirement, give or take a few hundred here or there of course.

* There are 1,936 days to go until the Mountaineers beat Pitt again in Football as the Backyard Brawl is renewed.

* My buddy Phil the Groundhog takes center stage again in 248 more days to tell up about the upcoming six week weather forecast.

* There are 215 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 Blog posts shows up right here discussing how my year has went according to this blog.

* There are 209 more shopping days left to go until Christmas, you still have plenty of time to do your shopping.

* In 185 more days I'm going to swear it is my 21st birthday again, or at least celebrate the 23rd anniversary of my 21st Birthday.

* The Springs Festival, which we missed last year, is in 130 more days.

* Our cruise is going to leave in 103 more days, with or without us. I've been waiting until the last minute to cancel it hoping something breaks, but with each passing day it appears more and more that there will not be a cruise in 2017 for us.

* We are 68 days away until Michelle and My sixth Wedding Anniversary.

* Mountainfest and the George Thorogood Concert are just 51 days away. We bought our tickets earlier this year.

* There are a mere 33 days to go until the 4th Annual Friends and Family Picnic this summer. I was asked in the past few weeks if we are still having the picnic, we have it rented and are still planning on doing it.

* There are 25 more days to go until Calvin and Jeanetta's Wedding next June, I really need to get my RSVP in and book our hotel for that. Their very informative website.

* There are 22 days left to go until Summer.

* This is my 4,891st blog that I have written for George's Journal. It's going on 13 years this September since I started writing it.

* I have to confess, I did not do any work at all on the Hall Family Website this past Winter.

* Once again nothing new on the Brother Search, I get some matches occasionally with the DNA I submitted last year, but they are all distant cousins usually around 4th.

* We have set the dates for our 35th High School Class reunion, it will be July 28th and 29th of this year.

* I did find some very unpleasant news yesterday, I had quite a bit of money stolen out of my savings account. The numbers were felony worthy and I am prosecuting. Who ever did it, used the money to pay off credit cards so there are records of the transactions. I feel pretty good about getting my money back.

* Michelle is still sore due to her problem from this weekend, she might be talking with a surgeon today about having the stone removed.

* I have to go to the bank this morning, I called the fraud department yesterday, I just need to go switch the account and set up a new one so that this doesn't happen again.

* Last week was a slow week hearing anything from any job searches due to the holiday, I look for something to transpire soon one way or the other.

* Have yourselves a great day and make the very most of it.

* Hi ho hi ho

Memorial Day

Enjoy your extended weekend today, but please take a little bit of time out and remember those who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice to allow us the freedoms we enjoy.

Thank you to my Father George Hall Sr as he served in the US Army in the 1960's and pre-vietnam war era. I was actually born on a Military Base due to him serving at the time.

Thank You to my Mothers Father Donald Newbraugh who was a Veteran of three US conflicts. World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Last but certainly not least a special thank you to my Father's Father and the man who raised my Ellis Hall who fought for our Country during what was called the Great War, or better known to modern historians as World War I.

Take a little time out from you BBQ's and cookouts today to remember those who served to protect us but are no longer with us. Take a little time to visit a grave yard today.

Have a great day,

Sunday Morning Rambling

Here I sit in a quiet household, it's only Michelle and I here as Josh is in Ohio and Hayley has also traveled for the weekend but I forget where she said that she went. I'm up early watching the ending of the Ugly Truth from my media center and collecting my thoughts on the day.

We did have a little bit of a scare yesterday morning with Michelle. All of a sudden her jaw just did not look right and she was in excruciating pain and it all just came out of no where. I had just hugged her and it happened. My immediate question is do you want to seek medical attention and it's usually followed by a no, except yesterday when I was met with an instantaneous yes, so off we went to seek medical help.

We ended up at Ruby Memorial in the Emergency room and after an evaluation the Doctor determined that it was Sialolithiasis, or a stone in her salivary gland that was causing her the extreme discomfort. He gave her a couple prescriptions and advised her on eating lemon candy to see if she can pass the stone on her own. Surgery is still an option and this may have to happen yet if the stone does not pass on it's own, but they said it is a minimally invasive surgery but it is a final option if needed.

We came home and rested yesterday, hopefully she feels a little better this morning when she wakes up, but we'll have to see on that.

Our plans for the rainy day, firing up the smoker and trying to smoke a whole chicken to see if we have any luck with that. Hopefully I have the right wood or pellets I need to smoke a chicken. I'll probably throw the smaller EZ-UP up and put the electric smoker under it due to the rain.

Have yourselves a great day today and make the very most of it.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the first one to recover from that losing battle with the dreaded Sandman last night and I'm up watching nothing on the boob tube as I fell asleep streaming a movie last night.

It looks like it is going to rain the entire holiday weekend, Michelle and I had talked about loading up the little grill and going somewhere, but I think we may just smoke a chicken or two this weekend and stay dry at home.

There is something that I plan on doing sometime this weekend as I do every Memorial Day Weekend. I usually take one day and head out to a few graveyards of deceased family members and place flags on the tombstones of those who have served. I'll be heading to Arnettsville, East Oak Grove and Mount Union Cemeteries this weekend. It's just something that I have done the past few years, it is Memorial Day Weekend and we can't forget those who sacrificed for us. None of my family died in any conflict, but many served during conflicts and I still honor them this weekend.

Have yourselves a great weekend and try to stay dry, Mother Nature is being a pain in the butt.

Big Ole Hairy Weekend

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday and the unofficial start of Summer with Memorial Day Weekend.

This is the start of the time period of the year that I love, when the days are longer, the birds are singing and I'm wearing shorts.

Unfortunately Mother Nature is going to act like a geriatric wench this weekend as she is really not going to cooperate. I was wanting to head out with Michelle and take our little grill somewhere, now it looks like we might just stay here this weekend as it's calling for rain.

Nothing new on the way of the job search this week, it's a week leading up to a Holiday week and not too much is getting done, but I have three very good prospects that I am waiting on. One may even be the opportunity of a lifetime, but it won't be here, actually none of them are here but two of them I will still be close.

Have yourselves a great Memorial Day Weekend.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through some of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet through the years and find one special picture that stands out. Little lost moments in time from yesterday caught with a Cameras lens and relived right here in my blog. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it consistently is however is a whole lot of fun.

This weeks picture goes back a long time ago, that is if you consider this past Saturday as being a long time ago. It was a picture that Michelle's sister took for us right after Amanda and Joey's wedding. I think we make one hell of a cute couple, but all that cuteness needs to be attributed to my lovely wife as she is the one that raised that level in this picture.

Truth be told, I was actually under the weather on this day and Michelle got knocked down with it the next day after we returned home. I guess I can fake it pretty well, all credit goes to Michelle for brightening up this picture.

Have yourselves a great day today, doing some field work.

Wednesday Wisdom

I thought I would do a little something different today. It's been a while since I've done a Wisdom post so today is a great time to do it.

I found out yesterday that the Department of Energy is taking a 56% Budget cut, you can save a lot of money on auto expenses if you just don't put gas in your car, or at least that must be the shallow thought process that is being exhibited here.

I try to avoid politics on this board so other than that I will stop with that since it not only affects me but probably a great number of my co-workers as well.

I found a great high quality movie torrent site yesterday. Yifytorrent.xyz is up and running and has a number of high quality movies available for download. Many very up to date movies including a few that have been released this year. I would say they are all blue ray quality rather than someone in some foreign country holding a camera up to a movie screen. A great way to build up a digital library especially if you have a home media server.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well it has actually been a few weeks since I last did a Tidbits, I'm sure everyone is wondering where the counts are, so maybe it's time to do a long awaited tidbits.

* There have been 19,532 days since I was born, of course I use the 930 day calendar and that officially makes me still just 21 years old.

* It has been 4,755 days since I graduated from West Virginia University. It has been 13 years since I took my walk and sometimes it seems like just yesterday.

* We have been blissfully married for 2,117 days now and still going strong. I am a very lucky man to say the very least.

* I have about 5,305 days to go until I enter the world of retirement, give or take a few hundred here or there of course.

* There are 1,943 days to go until the Mountaineers beat Pitt again in Football as the Backyard Brawl is renewed.

* My buddy Phil the Groundhog takes center stage again in 255 more days to tell up about the upcoming six week weather forecast.

* There are 222 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 Blog posts shows up right here discussing how my year has went according to this blog.

* There are 216 more shopping days left to go until Christmas, you still have plenty of time to do your shopping.

* In 192 more days I'm going to swear it is my 21st birthday again, or at least celebrate the 23rd anniversary of my 21st Birthday.

* The Springs Festival, which we missed last year, is in 137 more days.

* Our cruise is going to leave in 110 more days, with or without us. I've been waiting until the last minute to cancel it hoping something breaks, but with each passing day it appears more and more that there will not be a cruise in 2017 for us.

* We are 75 days away until Michelle and My sixth Wedding Anniversary.

* Mountainfest and the George Thorogood Concert are just 58 days away. We bought our tickets earlier this year.

* There are a mere 40 days to go until the 4th Annual Friends and Family Picnic this summer. I was asked in the past few weeks if we are still having the picnic, we have it rented and are still planning on doing it.

* There are 32 more days to go until Calvin and Jeanetta's Wedding next June, I really need to get my RSVP in and book our hotel for that. Their very informative website.

* There are 29 days left to go until Summer.

* We have set the dates for our 35th High School Class reunion, it will be July 28th and 29th of this year.

* I really haven't said much about it, but I have basically lost my funding at NETL. I've got some, but it equates to about 2 days of work a month so I am on a major job search and have been for a few weeks. I have had a couple of interviews and am just waiting to hear from either of them.

* Michelle and I are talking about moving out of state. Close enough to where she can still commute to her job, but also closer to where there is a large demand for my skill set. There are going to be some changes coming up in the very near future, just waiting to see which direction we go.

* As I said earlier it has been a while since I have posted a tidbits, it's been much longer since I actually wrote one from scratch instead of copying and pasting and just changing a few things. If felt good to actually write one again.

* Oh and if you see my Brother from another Mother George McClain today, make sure that you wish him a very Happy Birthday.

* Have yourselves a great day and make the very most of it.

* Hi ho hi ho

Monday

It's that time of the week when everyone stops having all the fun that they were having over the weekend and get back to doing what it is we do for a living. It's time to stick those collective noses back on the grindstone.

I think today I will pull all the video together from Amanda and Joey's wedding and try to put something together using all the footage that Michelle managed to capture.

No big plans for me this week, but that can always change at the simple drop of a hat. I'm waiting to hear from a couple of perspective employers and also waiting to count and list my next section for RTI. I'm kind of in the sit and wait time, hopefully I start to hear something this week.

I hope everyone has a great day, go out and change the world.

Happy Birthday Pam McClain

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Sister Pam a very Happy Birthday today.

I would have published this about 12 hours ago, but with the wedding and planning on getting ready to return home and things, it accidentally got delayed for a little while.

Pam is a sister than any brother would be very proud to have. She is the most genuine of the genuine and it is an honor to call her my Baby Sister.

I did speak with her a little bit today to see if she had any plans, but they do not at this moment as she indicated that she has to work today and tomorrow.

Take a little bit of time out of your busy day and wish this special lady a very Happy Birthday today.

Happy Birthday Pam

Sunday Morning

Good Morning to everyone from New Stanton PA from the beautiful Marriott Hotel. We came up yesterday for Amanda and Joey's Wedding and will be returning to Morgantown sometime this morning.

I did manage to put a number of pictures up on Facebook yesterday, but I have not looked or worked with the video that Michelle had captured yesterday as of yet. I tried the 360° camera but since it was an outdoor wedding I had trouble getting the lighting right and didn't use it.

I have to say that they went all out for this wedding as far as the facility, everything was just so well done and organized and it was nice for everyone to get together for this special event.

We'll be heading back home in a few hours, I'm sure the animals are suffering from separation anxiety without us being there.

Have a great day.

Amanda and Joey's Wedding

After all the preparation and planning, Amanda and Joey's Wedding day is now upon us. Michelle and I will be leaving this morning and heading up to the venue. I think everyone in the wedding party are either already up there or in transit from out of state to get there.

With the wedding planned for this afternoon and the reception afterwards, we are planning on staying up there this evening rather than trying to drive home later this evening. Chad and Hayley are coming back this evening, and she will be taking care of the animals. I will betaking my 360° camera, my video camera and my regular camera to try to capture the moment today is a few different formats for them.

I'm a little excited to get out of town and head north for a little while, it's going to be a very special weekend for a very special couple.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

Well I'm out in the field all day today with RTI, I'm getting ready to take on another task with them of counting and listing for information that will be used the next couple of years when we are out doing interviews. I'll be working south of Morgantown today with a trainer from Ohio, so I get to pick up a little extra knowledge about the entire process for the study. I love doing field work, it really is a lot of fun, only this time I don't have to be knocking on any doors or dealing with anyone other than myself. This will be all mapping and recording on my part.

We'll have a busy weekend however as we will be heading to the Barn at Madison for Amanda and Joeys wedding tomorrow afternoon. We will be staying up there tomorrow night, but Hayley will be here tomorrow evening to feed and take are of all of the animals. Her and Chad are just going up for the day and will come home tomorrow night.

Have yourselves a great day today.

With Amanda's wedding coming up this weekend and all of the talk of cookies and the cookie room that they are going to have, I felt the need to post a picture from the cookie table at mine and Michelle's wedding.

We had help in baking all of these cookies, a lot of it to be specific, but I think that it was a huge success and people really enjoyed it. At the end of the day we were not going to take any of them home with us and we invited everyone to fill up a Styrofoam container and take some of the treats )as well as the abundance of food) home and enjoy it. We were heading to Ocean City Maryland and it would all go to waste if we tried to keep it.

Have yourselves a great day, I'm back in the office today so..

Wednesday

Two down, two more ahead, it's just a matter of getting up and over the noon time hump to start working towards another fun filled weekend.

Big plans this coming weekend, Michelle and I will be going up for Amanda's Wedding on Saturday and staying over Saturday Night at a local hotel. I'll make sure that I take my cameras and my 360° camera as well to capture the moment. As of right now it is scheduled to be an outdoor wedding, so we shall see how it all works out. Hopefully we can capture some memories for her and Joey.

The weather has been great this week, I know the animals are so glad that winter is over with and they get to go outside and play for extended periods of time. I know May had a great time outside yesterday, or should I say she hate this wonderful weather that we have been having.

And people wonder why I love this season so much.

Have a great day.

There are days that you encounter in the time that we spend on this rock that were turning points in your life. Possibly a single event that changed your destiny either for the good or the bad or was a point that you remember back for inspiration. For me that day is today, a day that I will never forget and always look to as a turning point in my life.

It was May 16, 1977 and about the time that this blog posts. I was a 13 year old kid who was being raised by my Dad's Parents, my Grandmother was the Motherly figure in my life at that time and my Grandfather was pretty much my Father. I still referred to them as my Grandmother and Grandfather, but they were much more than that. I was woke up with some of news that absolutely devastated me, for the first time in my life, someone very close to me had passed away.

It was a day when the man I knew to be my Father, despite my real Dad being alive but not really involved in my life those first 13 years, had passed away and my childhood changed forever. It was just me and my Grandmother and I had to assume a role that I maybe wasn't ready for yet, but it helped me grow up pretty quickly.

27 years after his passing, I accomplished a goal that he had had for me when I graduated College and fulfilled his dream. That day was 13 years ago today as well, but that was for him. I did stop by his and Grandma's gravesite yesterday to take a little bit of time to reflect upon the first 13 years of my life and what he has inspired me to do.

I miss them both to this day.

Monday

Well here we are once again at the start of another fun filled work week. Michelle made it home yesterday evening and brought me a few samples of the delicious cookie treats that will be featured in the cookie room this coming weekend. I understand young Maddie took my place this weekend as the QAQC tester.

The girls and I had a good time this weekend, but they were all happy to see Michelle come home as was I. I held down the fort while Michelle was gone. I think May is the most happiest as she usually sleeps with Michelle and stayed on the couch since she left.

We had a Mother's Day Breakfast yesterday at Golden Coral for my Mom. I think that she had a pretty good time, but someone who shall remain the nameless blogger forgot to take any pictures at all of the mornings festivities.

I think I am going to brush up on my Python programming today, something tells me that this will be a big asset in the very near future.

Have a great day.

Happy Mothers Day

Today is a special day here in West Virginia, it is Mother's Day, a holiday that has its origins very close to where we live in a small little town called Grafton West Virginia. The holiday was created by Anna Jarvis has grown in the 109 years since it was first celebrated.

This morning Kim, Terri and I will be meeting our Mother Sandra Irene for Breakfast early this morning at the Golden Coral. Terri has to work later this morning, so we are going to do it when the restaurant opens up at 7:30 to celebrate Mothers Day with our Mother.

Michelle is still up north and she and her Mother are baking cookies still for Amanda's wedding next weekend.

So Happy Mothers Day to all of the Mothers out there, if it were not for you, none of us would be here.

Happy Mother's Day.

Saturday Morning Rambling

Here I sit in a household empty of all humans, it's just me and my four legged friends hanging out and having a good time. We're all watching Kill the Irishman on the boob tube, or at least I am as everyone else is sleeping and collecting our thoughts for the day.

Today would have been my dad's 72nd birthday if he were still around and still with us. Unfortunately he has been gone for a while and it will be 18 years since his passing this July. His birthday is semi-easy to remember because it is always so close to Mother's Day and for this of us that live in Morgantown, WVU's Graduation weekend.

The weather is not so cooperative this weekend meaning I'm not getting out and doing much of anything. I may make one final attempt to do some field interviews for RTI today before I move on next week and start doing some listing work, which will be a new challenge for me. I open the chance to try something a little different rather than just knocking on doors and reading verbatim speeches.

Have yourselves a great day.

Well it looks like I will be here alone this weekend, Michelle is heading up north to Jon and Laura's after work today. Amanda and Joey's wedding is next weekend and they are going to spend this weekend baking cookies for next weekend. I love Pennsylvania weddings and cookie tables, so much so that we had a big one at our wedding.

Hayley is heading further north to see one of her childhood friends graduate college this weekend. She'll be up somewhere close to Erie to watch Brianna Graduate.

Josh is heading back to his work site to start another week of on site working, which leaves me here all alone all weekend. I guess it will be me and the animals home alone all weekend.

I will be busy however, Jackie dropped off a few VHS tapes for me to convert to digital format and DVD for her. I have the set up and can easily convert VHS to either a DVD or just as a file to simply throw up on Youtube. Congratulations also goes out to Jackie as she is Graduating this weekend from West Virginia University.

Speaking of Graduates, Congratulations are also in store for my niece to be (she's already family) Jeanetta, she graduated this past weekend from James Madison University. Her wedding is also coming up as well.

I hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend.

This picture goes back to Christmas eve 2005, it was a year and one of the last ones that we had Christmas at my Dad's house. Jean was gracious enough to host it that year and I as someone who had a new found passion of taking pictures and capturing the moment, managed to talk the majority of the people that were there into the back room and get a group picture.

It was also the year that I did my favorite Christmas video that I have ever done. I've done a number of them through the years, but this one for some reason is my favorite, that and the one the year we had Christmas at Klaer Lodge and my future wife stood me up...lol

Have a great day.

Hump Day

It's Wednesday and I'll be in my office today doing a little bit of work for another task, it's nice to at least have a little bit of work to do.

I did have a Doctors appointment yesterday, this will be the last time I get to see this particular Doctor, he's finishing up his residency and moving on to somewhere else next month. I'll see my next doctor in six months or this November.

Michelle is still feeling under the weather, she is a trooper and made it through the day yesterday, when I spoke to her in the early morning she was not feeling very well at all. I really expected to see her come home early yesterday, but she hung it out like a trooper.

Chad found out a little bad news yesterday, he thought he had to be out of his apartment by today, and he found out he had to be out of his old apartment and into his new one by 2:00 yesterday afternoon. Needless to say we were struggling to find a U-Haul on such a short notice. We did manage to get a truck from Budget Rental.

Have yourselves a great day today.

No tidbits this week.

I kind of dropped the ball on writing a tidbits blog for this morning, I had a few things going on yesterday and that kind of side tracked me. So, rather than rush one out I'll just write a regular blog for the day.

Well our softball season started with a boom last night. We ended up beating IDK 11-5 to open the season up 1-0. We lost a few guys from last year and we've picked up a few guys or should I say guys who were on the roster last year but were never able to make it, made it out. We played very well last night and we looked in mid-season form from the very get go of the season. We had a practice last weekend, but only three guys showed up and no one else made it.

Wish me luck today, not saying what yet, but just asking everyone to wish me luck.

Have a great day.

Monday

Well here we are again, looking at the end of a weekend and the start of another fun filled week of doing what it is that we do for a living. Michelle is back in the office today and I'll be at home possibly taking my first day off in some time.

It's Softball once again, our first game of the season is this evening, so I guess I should dig my stuff out and throw it in the back of the car. We've had one practice but I wasn't able to make it to that due to me working, so this will be my first outing of the year. We're playing IDK, a team we matched up pretty well with last year, so let's see how this turns out for us. Smitty and I will be returning to the same field with the same team for probably the first time in over 20 years. He played with us last year, but due to work never made it to any games, so I'm kind of excited to get back on the field with basically a number of guys from my very first BOPARC team. We are once again sponsored by Whitetail Crossing.

It was a pretty uneventful Sunday for us, the weather was rather blah and I went out working for about an hour or so doing field work, but that was basically me going and knocking on doors where no one has been answering after numerous attempts. Michelle is still feeling a little under the weather, hopefully she'll be fine this morning.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit on a quiet, cold and wet Sunday Morning, the weather has been a little less than desirable this weekend, but that is OK. I'm up watching a Kevin Smith Marathon, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is on now, and collecting my thoughts for the day.

Michelle is a little bit under the weather, she was not feeling too well yesterday and has been trying to sleep this crummy feeling off and recover. I may actually go out and do the grocery shopping myself this morning in case she is not up to it.

I'll be heading out into the field once again today to work for RTI, I had a pretty good day yesterday with the addition of some new lines, but I've even worked them down and once again have just a small caseload left to do.

A friend of ours was going to come and visit today, but I was informed that that was put on hold yesterday and she is not coming into town today. Might be for the best as to let Michelle get a chance to relax and recover before starting another work week tomorrow.

Have yourselves a great day today,

Saturday

Here I sit on a quiet Saturday Morning, I'm up early collecting my thoughts and watching old reruns of Threes Company on some TV channel.

My weekend will be spent working once again for RTI, I'll be out doing field work both today and tomorrow as requested from the National Director, they want everyone out the next couple of days as they just haven't gotten the numbers this quarter. Me personally I have had a very productive quarter, if it is not my best quarter yet it's close to being there.

Michelle is going to be doing a little bit of Baby sitting this morning. She will be spending a little time with Baby Declan (I hope I spelled that right) as Mommy and Daddy can go out and see a movie together and get a chance to unwind a little bit. She  jumped at the chance when it was offered.

Karma is a bitch as I read on Facebook last night. Michelle's former employer who had it in for Michelle from the very beginning and managed to remove a very large asset to the company, just found out yesterday how much of an asset that asset was as she was terminated. We have come to learn that Michelle's situation was the final nail in her coffin as she was shown to be pretty incompetent and it caught up to her. Michelle has moved on and is very happy with MEPCO and is in a much better employment situation. They did her a big favor, but it did make her day to learn the events that transpired. She's got a permasmile on her face right now that is probably going to be there a while.

Have a great day.

Well it's back to blogging for me after my early week in Sistersville and the last couple of days in my office here in Morgantown. I enjoy doing field work, but I also do like an office environment as well so it was a nice mixture of both.

No big plans this weekend other than going out and doing some additional field work here in Morgantown with some new work that just opened up this week. I've had a great quarter, but the rest of the country not so much.

Next weekend Michelle will be heading back home for the weekend for a multiple purpose. She is going home for Mother's Day plus with Amanda's wedding getting closer, and they are wanting a cookie room, everyone will get together next weekend to do a lot of baking for the wedding the following weekend.

Have yourselves a great day today.

This picture seems like it was just yesterday, this was probably the summer of Softball that I enjoyed the most of all of the years that I have played. It was the old Prime Thyme Team that Chris Ostien had assembled and we were actually a damn good team. We finished in second place in both the regular season and the tournament that year.

All of our games were scheduled on Friday evening and it worked out perfect for me as I was working in Frostburg at the time. After every game it never failed, this entire group of guys and their wives and kids would all head up to our sponsors after the game and we would all have dinner together.

Best summer I ever had playing softball and one of my favorite teams to ever be a part of.

Have yourselves a great day today.

I'm coming Home

Well here we are at that point again, the point where my travels are over with and I will be heading home to my lovely wife this evening once I get today's work in. It's been a lot of fun, but like always I am ready to return home once again to spend time with my special lady.

I have had a great trip once again, but you can always take that with a grain of salt as even though this is my personal journal, rest assured that this post was written Sunday afternoon from the convenience of my home. So it's kind of hard to really talk about experiences that I have not experienced just yet.

I hope everyone has had a great week and a better today, I'm ready to come home and head back to the office tomorrow morning for a couple of meetings that I have scheduled.

Have a great day.

See you this evening Morgantown.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Day two for me here in Sistersville, can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* I know you guys have missed this count, it has been 19,511 wonderful days since my birth, I sometimes feel older than 21.

* There have been 4,734 days that have gone by since I Graduated from WVU, we're getting ready to see the next group have their time.

* It was 3,335 days ago that Michelle and I went out on our very first date together, it's amazing how far we have both come since that first fateful night.

* It has been 2,559 days since I proposed marriage to a very wonderful woman, did it at 4:00 AM out on the back yard and this past Sunday was the Anniversary of that fateful day.

* We are in day 2,096 of Marriage. We've been through a lot and I am very appreciative of this wonderful woman.

* I have about 5,326 or so days to go until my retirement giving the current rules for retirement give or take a few hundred here or there and depending on how I feel.

* There are only 1,964 days to go until the Backyard Brawl in football takes the field once again. I want to kick some Panther butt!!!!!

* My buddy Phil the Groundhog takes center stage in 278 more days when he forecasts the weather on Ground Hogs Day. I think Mother Nature however is inserting her will as we speak.

* I have 243 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 blog is written. That is the blog that I do at the end of the year that is based upon what I write here on this blog.

* There are 237 more shopping days left to go until Christmas 2017, never too early to start planning.

* There are but a mere 213 more days to go until I celebrate yet another anniversary of my 21st Birthday, or something close to that. I think my ages rounds out to about 21.

* Our next cruise is 131 days away if all goes right.

* There are only 96 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Sixth Wedding Anniversary together.

* In 79 more days Michelle and I will be attending WV Mountainfest. Already have our tickets for this years events. Going to go see George Thorogood and maybe even Hank Williams Jr.

* There are 61 more days to go until our 2017 Friends and Family Picnic.

* There are 53 more days to go until Calvin and Jeanetta's Wedding next June, I really need to get my RSVP in and book our hotel for that. Their very informative website.

* It's just a mere 50 days away when Summer 2017 arrives.

* This is my 4,842nd blog that I have written for George's Journal in the now 12 1/2 +  years that I have been writing it. That is a lot of thoughts, a lot of history and a lot of me.

* No work yest this year on the Hall Family Tree. This has not been a productive year for it at all on my end.

* Once again nothing new on the brother search, I am keeping the hope and faith, but I'm not finding the first trace of his existence anywhere.

* We have set the dates for our 35th High School Class reunion, it will be July 28th and 29th of this year. I really need to send out that check soon.

* Nothing really breaking on the job search, but it's still early and hopefully something will break pretty soon. I am getting a little antsy.

* Last time I was here in Sistersville, I brought my 360° camera, if I was smart I have packed it again..lol

* Have I ever mentioned that I love Spring!!!

* Have yourselves a great day and make the very most of it.

Travel Day

I'll be heading out this morning and heading to Sistersville West Virginia to work for a few days. I will once again be staying at the Wells Inn in Sistersville again for a couple of reasons. One it meets the criteria for the Government Rate of what I am allotted to spend and get re-reimbursed and two it's pretty close to where I will be working.

I had a pretty good time the last time I was in Sistersville, but I will be much better prepared this time around with what I am taking with me. The Owner Charles and his Wife were fantastic hosts and love to talk politics, even though we are on polar opposite sides of the spectrum, but when debating him you better bring your A game as he is always prepared, knowledgeable and prepared for any political discussion that is set to take place.

I'll be in Sistersville for a couple of days and will be back on Wednesday evening.

Have yourselves a great day.
