Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a lot of fun.

This weeks pic comes from my former co-author Peanut. This was taken almost 8 years ago when we had first got her. She was such a cutie. We had had another Cat named Phin who when we had her fixed woke up during the surgery and it caused all kinds of problems. They had to perform further surgery because she swallowed something during the surgery and we found out she had an enlarged heart and ended up dying one morning in the living room. When I saw Michelle weeping at the loss of our little friend, I got on Petfinders and found the perfect replacement and that she is.

She loves her Mommy and likes to sit up on my laptop as I am working and keeping me company and entertained. She was the perfect replacement and our Photo Flashback for today.

Have a great day

Tuesday's Tidbits

 * Monday is completed, now we are staring straight down the barrel of a Tuesday and you know what that means.

* It has been 21,971 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new, and improved 1,000-day Calendar. I may have to start adjusting in the very near future as I debut my new and improved 1,045-day Calender.

* It has been 7,231 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. I do love what I do and I can see me doing this into my retirement years.

* 5,819 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together. Seems like it was just yesterday and it was the third best decision I ever made in my life.

* 5,029 days ago I proposed to Michelle in the backyard at 4:00 in the morning. She knew it was coming, and it is still the best decision I ever made in my life.

* It was 5,066 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, married by a chiropractor and feasted on food Jeanie made.

* I have now lived 2,203 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong, slowing down but still going. I am recovering though.

* Michelle has been living a clean and productive life and beat that alcohol demon 862 days ago today.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,273 days, I've now outlived him by 721 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again!

* I have 2,869 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. Who knows though, doing what I do I may never retire.

* 341 more days until Phil steps to center stage once again for Groundhog Day. He and French Creek Freddie agreed on their predictions this year,  now lets just wait to see if they come true.

* 316 more days to go until my Goodbye 2024 Blog is posted. Hopefully I can put some better content together this year.

* There are 302 more shopping days left until Christmas 2024. You still have plenty of time to prepare and get ready.

* There are 286 days until I hit the age of 61. Yeah I know, I'm really older than 21.

* There are 235 days until Brittany and Matt enter into the bounds of matrimony.

* There are 204 more days until we go to Pittsburgh and beat the Panther's butts in their stadium.

* There are 188 more days to go until the Mountaineers will try to get some revenge here in Morgantown for last weekend when Penn State comes to Morgantown.

* There are 160 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Thirteenth Wedding Anniversary together.

*  In 95 Days Michelle and I will be traveling to Pittsburgh to see Kenney Chesney and Zack Brown at Acrisure Stadium.

* There are only 22 days to go until the next start of my favorite Season. Spring 2024. Come on Springtime, I hate this cold and winter.

* It has been ∞ (infinity symbol) several days that I have hated both Pitt and Penn State.

* I have written 7,476 blogs in the now 19 1/2 years plus a couple of days of being a blogger.

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. My little drone is awesome and I really like it....when I take time out to fly it.

* I think I know where I want to do my next drone flight, out by the old county graveyard whenever I get to it.

* Still playing Monopoly Go. Several family members are playing and I'm still in 8th place overall among all my friends and family. I passed Val, but lets see how long that lasts. Kim, Terri and Michelle are 1,2 and 3 on my list. .

* Girl scout cookies? Help this little girl meet her goal. Get them while you can.

* How about I start doing my favorite Tic Tok of the week? Looking for an entertaining TicToker to follow, check out this weeks tictok

Monday

Weekend is over, it's time for us to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone called life and get back to doing what it is that we do for a living to make this a better rock to live on.

I think I will have a job offer coming today, it's another contract job but it pays significantly more than the one I am spending most of my time on. Interviewed about three weeks ago and I felt like they liked me, so we'll have to wait and see. It's going back into electricity and power and using the ESRI products that I am so familiar with. I've spent the last four months learning an archaic program called Smallworld, but it pays about $14 an hour less than what I usually make, so it will not be a hard decision.

I finally got my certification for Derivative Classification over the weekend. On the other job I work we're transitioning over to a more secure server and systems and I have to have this certification before I will be granted access. That was a real pain in the butt, I was going to do it during the week but decided to do it on the weekend so my head can be clearer and ready to go, it was a challenge to say the least. Both this job and the new one that will probably be offered could both lead into staff positions.

Have yourselves a great day and the start of a super productive week.

Sunday

Woo Hoo I get a day off. I'm also up early with my aviary friend Kiwi discussing why we had to get snow yesterday. He doesn't like it, I don't like it, and we are both in a mutual agreement about that. Michelle on the other hand does.

I think the strategy of Michelle going to Krogers and me staying here and doing some house chores works out best for us. I slow her down grocery shopping, but I get everything done that we would have done after we went shopping. Gives us more time for a little bit of rest and relaxation.

If you have a few extra dollars laying around, a childhood friend of mine lost his son last week, he was a donor so they kept him alive a little longer until they could find recipients for his organs. Now they need a little bit of help in paying for the funeral costs, his name was Dwayne Campbell and if you have a few extra dollars you can donate here. John (his father) is overwhelmed will bills including the funeral costs. The donation goes straight to the funeral home.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here Kiwi and I sit in the early morning, I'm getting ready to start work for the day and he's just sitting in his cage being a bird this morning, I think he stayed up too late last night watching movies. I think he was watching the Birdman of Alkatraz as all I could here him say is he's not a bird, he's a human.

I'm working today, as it either is my last or first day of the workweek depending on how you perceive it. All my hours for the week had to be turned in by yesterday on both jobs, so this is another billing cycle but part of the same week. I'm off tomorrow, so however you perceive it then so be it. I am working today then I will be off until Monday and I can get a good early start today. I do have some training I need to go through and I was planning on doing it this morning, it's something that needs done before we move over to some secured servers, they are changing everything up to make it a little more secure.

Michelle is going with a friend of her this morning to watch a soccer game at Mylan Park, so it'll be me and the animals holding down the fort for the day. After work I really have no plans. I know I have to start cleaning the bg garage out in the next few weeks as it is going to be demolished, so I have to move my mancave over to the dual garage attached to the house. We need to get that garage all cleaned up before I reconstruct the mancave in that garage.

The WVU Women are hosting Baylor this afternoon at 2:00 while the WVU men will be playing at the same time at Iowa State. Head on over and show the Ladies some support, should be a great game.

Have yourselves a great day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday!

Once again I will be working tomorrow so I call this my partial weekend. I am only working one job and for 8 hours and tomorrow I will work the other job for 8 hours and be done for the week. I can't really complain as I am doing what I like to do and making a difference on this rock by doing it.

Once again I don't have too much going on this weekend, I'm not sure if Michelle has anything planned. I know her and Kim had talked about visiting the Tea Shoppe last week but had to cancel for some reason, maybe they can pull it off tomorrow. One never knows.

Have yourselves a great day.

This one is from a couple of years ago, we had taken a trip to Hovatters and I was able to pry Michelle away from the Giraffes long enough to go into the bird enclosure. If you know Michelle, she loves animals and this day was no different (although don't tell Kiwi about this, he'll get jealous).

We usually take at least one trip to Hovatters every season. I like to support the local zoos and Hovatters has grown and grown and has really become an amazing place to visit.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end and that does include those fun-filled things we refer to as weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone of life and get back to doing what it is that we do that makes this a better world to live in.

New week new challenges is how I always look at Mondays. No idea what this week holds for me, but we'll hit it running and see how it turns out after a nice relaxing day off to myself.

Monday's on Comedy Central Jon Stewart returns to the daily show. He left the show some years ago and to me it has not been the same since, he returned last week and will be hosting the show once a week on Monday's from here on out. I have to say I welcome his return.

Have yourselves a great day and the start of a great week.

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, with the exception of Kiwi giving me his opinion on everything this morning. He is definitely a chatty young fellow, and by chatty I mean loud and opinionated. He sings what he wants when he wants.

We managed to do our taxes yesterday, or should I say Michelle managed to do them while I was working. You never know what is going to happen when you do taxes and this year was no surprise, or should I say a pleasant surprise as we are getting money from both the Federal and the State. That hasn't happened in some time, so I'm not complaining in the slightest.

The agenda for the day is a little grocery shopping (Michelle is going to do that) and I'll do a few chores around the house while she is doing that. We started adding a weekend Aldi trip to our shopping routine and I have to say that they are a surprisingly inexpensive store. I actually think we have most of our meals planned and bought already, so she'll just be picking up some weekly staples like eggs, milk, etc.

Have yourselves a nice and relaxing day.

Saturday

Here I sit in a quiet household, and by quiet that ignores Kiwi in his cage singing songs from the Wonka movie as he is dancing around and singing. He's such a happy bird.

I'm working once today. Friday and Saturday are my one job a day days with me working both jobs Monday thru Thursday. Today I will  be doing GIS and working on my own schedule, last week I started at 5:00 to get done in the early afternoon. That's the plan for today and I'm off tomorrow. I enjoy the job I'm doing today and in the evenings, the other job is just me learning a new piece of software so I can say I have experience with it.

A few weeks ago my old buddy Phil said that Spring was right around the corner, have we crossed that corner yet? It doesn't appear as though we have, do you think Phil and French Creek Freddie may have both been fibbing? I'm ready for the warmer weather, the days are getting longer and we are only about three weeks from springing out clocks forward an hour for Daylight Savings time.

No other plans for the day, but you never know what we might get into.

Have yourselves a super-fantastic day

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday!

Once again my boring butt has no plans for this weekend, I will be working tomorrow so there is always that. Last week I was up at 5:00 and started earlier than I normally do, hopefully I can repeat that tomorrow.

If you are looking for something fun to do, the play Grease (based on the movie) will be playing at the Metropolitan Theatre Downtown. Michelle and I went and saw Sweeney Todd years ago when Hayley was an access and had a part in the play. She absolutely loved doing that, I was really surprised she never pursued any other opportunities to act.

So with the NFL and College Football seasons completed and the WVU Men's Basketball team in a transition year, what does one watch? The Daytona 500 is Sunday.

Have yourselves a great day

Since yesterday was Valentine's Day, I thought I would make this year's picture a picture of me and my Valentine from 2017. We stopped by and grabbed this picture as we were entering Virginia for the first time together. We were on our way to Calvin and Jeanetta's wedding. They were married in Harrisonburg Virgina which is about a three-hour drive from Morgantown.

I knew last weekend that this was the picture I wanted to use this week for the Flashback, being yesterday was Valentine's Day.

Have yourselves a great day.

Nothing major coming up this week, but you never know what could happen, things can change pretty quickly. No there is nothing I am keeping from anyone, but you never know when the next opportunity will come knocking. Valentine's Day is Wednesday, so there is that to look ahead to this week.

Michelle is scheduled to go and visit her mom this evening at the Nursing Home. What does that mean, that means I am on my own for dinner this evening.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit in a quiet household, except for Kiwi that is who is still trying to pen a love song for Taylor Swift. He still think's he has more to offer her than Travis Kelce does. Sure he's playing in today's Superbowl, but Kiwi says that he can fly.

Michelle did some baking yesterday, she did this dutch oven pepperoni and cheese bread and made a pepperoni and cheese loaf as well as some pepperoni rolls. I was working yesterday morning, so she did some running around including a trip to Aldi's to pick up a few things before she spent an afternoon of baking fresh breads.

So what is on today's agenda? Grocery shopping, the very little bit of it we need to do and other than that getting ready to watch the big game. Might even start our taxes, I bought this years version of our tax software, Tax Cut  which I always use.  50% off from the listed price, and even $10 cheaper than buying it at WalMart. Michelle had an access code for me for online insite study and I earned a $10 Amazon Gift card just for signing up, so my tax software was only $15.00

So big game today, Kiwi is excited to see his potential new girlfriend. Wings will be on the dinner menu this evening as well as a couple of cheeseballs and a few other snacks. Who do you have? I have the Chiefs winning it again this year.

Have a great day  and enjoy some Superbowl festivities.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here Kiwi and I sit in the early AM, I'm waking up and getting ready to work today. Kiwi on the other hand says he wants to start dating Taylor Swift and is asking me how to get Travis Kelce out of the picture. I told him she probably likes a partner from her own species and he calls it aviary hate. Can't a little Green Cheek Conure get some love he asks?

Like I said I'm working today, just one job today so I should be done early afternoon. Michelle is going to do laundry and maybe make a trip to Aldi's this morning, I know she has talked about doing a little bit of baking today. A Dutch Oven Bread is on her agenda and she has talked about maybe baking some pepperoni rolls as I work. My office will be emanating some pretty pleasant aromas today as I am working.

So what's on everyone's menu for the Superbowl, or the game where Kiwi's future girlfriend will be featured. We're doing wings for the big game tomorrow, we pretty much do wings for every Superbowl, it's kind of an unwritten tradition with us.

Have yourselves a great day

Big OIe Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday!

Everyone else gets a weekend, me however will be working tomorrow so my weekend doesn't begin until tomorrow afternoon, but I'll celebrate with the rest of you. I figure it's the least I can do..lol

Once again no plans for us this weekend, other than watching the Superbowl on Sunday evening. I swear we live the most boring lives known to mankind, or at least I do. Maybe to we should plan on doing something tomorrow afternoon. I have only been out of the house a few times since Christmas, and being I work at home, it would be nice to get out.

Have yourselves a great day

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a lot of fun.

I don;t have to go back too far for this weeks pic, it was just about a month and a half ago when Michelle had her Christmas baking weekend (actually it was two weekend with one dedicated to breads). Michelle, Kim and Brittany slaved for three days making and baking as many cookies as they possibly could.

This picture was taken the third and final day. Michelle and Brittny had two kitchen aids going making batches. I can't speak for everyone, but I know everyone had a great time making cookies. Brittany took such care decorating the spritz cookies that looked like Christmas trees. I swear she decorated each cookie like it was it's own real tree.

Can't wait to do it again next year.

* 362 more days until Phil steps to center stage once again for Groundhog Day. He and French Creek Freddie agreed on their predictions this year,  now lets just wait to see if they come true.

* 337 more days to go until my Goodbye 2024 Blog is posted. Hopefully I can put some better content together this year.

* There are 323 more shopping days left until Christmas 2024. You still have plenty of time to prepare and get ready.

* There are 307 days until I hit the age of 61. Yeah I know, I'm really older than 21.

* There are 256 days until Brittany and Matt enter into the bounds of matrimony.

* There are 225 more days until we go to Pittsburgh and beat the Panther's butts in their stadium.

* There are 209 more days to go until the Mountaineers will try to get some revenge here in Morgantown for last weekend when Penn State comes to Morgantown.

* There are 181 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Thirteenth Wedding Anniversary together.

* Making its debut on this week's countdown, in 116 Days Michelle and I will be traveling to Pittsburgh to see Kenney Chesney and Zack Brown at Acrisure Stadium.

* There are only 43 days to go until the next start of my favorite Season. Spring 2024. Come on Springtime, I hate this cold and winter.

* It has been ∞ (infinity symbol) several days that I have hated both Pitt and Penn State.

* I have written 7,455 blogs in the now 19 1/2 years plus a couple of days of being a blogger.

Several family members are playing and I'm still in 9th place overall among all my friends and family. Kim, Terri and Michelle are 1,2 and 3 on my list.

*  I learned this weekend from Trish, that Layla was accepted into the Med Ed Program. Both Michelle and I are very proud of her. Trish said she is excited to get her scrubs.

* The Superbowl is this weekend, who do you like? I believe the Chiefs will repeat.

* Girl scout cookies? Help this little girl meet her goal. Get them while you can.

* How about I start doing my favorite Tic Tok of the week? I saw this one this past weekend and loved it.

Monday

The weekend however short it is, goes by way too quickly. Now it is time for us to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone of life and get back to doing what it is that we do to make this better rock to live on.

Michelle is heading back to the office this morning after dealing with a serious bout with migraines last week. I wish I could tell her I know how she feels, but I have never had a migraine and can not relate to what migraine sufferers go through. I see what it does to her and it does not appear to be any fun.

My weekend was short, but it was relaxing to say the least. I could have worked yesterday, but we all need a day to recharge before we start another week. I know when I worked for RTI I would go sometimes over two months without a day off and from both jobs, but I'm getting older now and prefer a little bit of me time even though I work at home.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I once again sit in a semi-quiet household, Kiwi is in his cage singing songs from the Wonka movie and doing the aviary version of the Oompa Loompa dance 🦜.  He is definitely a content little bird.

So what is on today's agenda?  Obviously grocery shopping this morning and doing the rest of the house chores as we prepare for the upcoming work week. I did go grocery shopping last Sunday, it was my first time heading to Krogers in some time, but I think today Michelle is going to do the shopping as I stay here and get a few things done. She said I slowed her down last week as she has been use to going in and grabbing what she wants and getting out of there.  I'm about 95% recovered, it's just quicker and more efficient for us to do it this way.

We did jump ahead of next week a little bit. Superbowl weekend everyone is going to want to find chicken wings to cook or order. We prefer to do ours at home so we made sure we got Chicken Wings from Sams to beat the rush and stay ahead of the game. I know there have been a couple of years when we struggled to find them on gameday, that's not happening this year.

I did make a couple of good job contacts this past week, had an interview with one and had someone contact me about one here in Morgantown. Not sure if anything will come of either of those, but you never know. I thought my interview went very well to be honest and it is one I would accept if offered.

Make this a special day and make it memorable.

Saturday

Here Kiwi and I sit on a quiet Saturday Morning, he asked me is it your weekend yet and I said no Kiwi I'm working today. I think he wanted me to take him to see a movie or something. Trying to broaden his horizons. I think he wants to see Wonka due to all the singing.

I'll be working for Parsons today doing some DoD work that they have contracted. This is all ESRI based so I am more than comfortable working this job, I'm still learning Smallworld on my Mon-Fri job. I should be done early this afternoon and that will be the start of my weekend.

So other than working what is on our agenda? Probably not too much honestly. Michelle has had a migraine from hell the past few days and even came home from work Wednesday. She has been miserable to say the least, she has switched back to her old doctor who she really likes, hopefully some adjustments and she'll be back to being herself in no time.

I have to say I am so happy that Phil and French Creek Freddie both agreed on their predictions yesterday. I'm a spring kind of guy, it is my favorite season of the year. It always has been for some reason.

Have yourselves a great day.

Thank You Phil!!!!!!!

Thank you Phil, king of all Groundhogs. No Shadow which means Spring is right around the corner.

Big Ole Hairy Ground Hogs Day Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday and even more important than that, it's Phil's Day!!!!!

On this day, my old friend Phil will determine if we are going to have six more weeks of winter or if we can expect an early Spring as the prognosticator of prognosticators makes his appearance this fine morning to let us know what to expect. I'm sure Gobblers Knob has been nothing but a party all night long. Come and come through for me old buddy....or else.

So what is going on for Michelle and I this weekend? Not too much, I'm working tomorrow for Parsons and there is nothing planned after that. This is a no-football weekend as we are in the own week before the culmination of the season is played next weekend for the Superbowl.

Have yourselves a great day and Phil I hope you don't end up as stew.

Look at that sexy young man with the sailor cap on. Yes that is none other than yours truly and I'm guessing this picture was probably taken in 1964 maybe, The two girls around me are Sharon on the left and Lynne on the right. We were always together in the early years of my life. I refer to them as my big sisters.

Have yourselves a great day
