WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could also have been a practicing attorney.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend, and a Big Ole Hairy Friday!

There are no free BOPARC movies this evening, however the Monongalia County Fair is still going on, we have not been over there yet, but you never know what tonight holds for us.

We will once again be traveling tomorrow as we head up north to Monaca PA for little Johnny's (Michelle's Nephew) Second Birthday party. It's going to be a Burgh type day. It'll be nice to get out of Morgantown for the day.

Well the big story here this week has been Sheetz decision to stop carrying Pepperoni Rolls made in West Virginia. I guess they have gotten enough backlash that they have reversed that decision and will keep things going as normal. I'm glad to see that they have come to their senses and realized that the best Pepperoni Rolls are made right here where they originated.

Have a great day

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look through the tens of thousands of pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off on the internet through the years. Little lost moments in time to post up and relive here briefly on my blog and share with everyone. Sometimes you struggle finding something special and sometimes it just pops right out at you, it's always a whole lot of fun and enjoyable for me at least.

This weeks picture goes clear back to Mine and Michelle's Honeymoon. We had decided to do our Honeymoon in Ocean City, Maryland, a place that I had been to a couple of times previously but she had never been there.

On one of the days we were there we got on a boat and headed over to Assateague Island where all of the wild horses live. On the tour they gave us all nets to see what kind of wildlife any of us could find in the water, and my wonderful wife managed to find this little creature in her net. I think of all the things we did at Ocean City, this was probably one of the most memorable excursions that we had.

Have a great day

Hump Day (Draft)

Well that is two days down of the dreaded workweek, now all we have to do is get our butts up and over this noon time hump today and everything will be headed downhill from there.

Has everyone seen the story about Sheetz and Pepperoni Rolls? The Pepperoni roll, which has it's origins traced right back to Fairmont WV and the Country Club Bakery and is a West Virginia thing is being taken away from West Virginia vendors by Sheetz in favor of an out of state vendor. Blasphemy I tell you, if you are going to sell our products to our people. use our vendors or we'll go someplace else. BFS BTW is a Morgantown, West Virginia based company. Shame on Sheetz, this is like trying to sell pasta in Italy made by Canadians.

It seems like there are a few problems with Microsoft Windows 10, my advice is to hold off and let them work the bugs out of it before you install it on your local machine. I have a strange feeling this is going to be an absolute nightmare for the tech support people.

This coming Saturday is week 3 of the Pittsburgh Steelers Trivia Challenge, we will not be on this week bu may have a mention about us being on the following week. Can we defend our title? Can we be the first team in Steelers Trivia history to repeat in back to back years (we are the only team to win it twice) and be the only team to claim not one, not two but three Championship Trophies? Tune in to see.

Have a Great Day

Happy Birthday Josh Nicholson

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Great Nephew Joshua Nicholson a very Happy 9th Birthday today if my math is correct.

Josh is a bundle of joy who is a lot of fun to be around, I know that he likes to spend his summer days swimming and having fun his sister Erica during the day.

Val and Bobby held a duel Birthday Party  for both Josh and his sister earlier this Summer. Everyone gathered and had a great time as Val made a couple of custom cakes for both of the kids.

If you happen to see Josh today, make sure that you take a little bit of time out and wish him the Happiest of Birthdays today.

Happy Birthday Josh.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well that dreaded thing we refer to as Monday is now once again behind us, now it is time to start looking at a Tuesday.

* At Chic-Fil-A there will be a Johnny Koon fund raiser for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him, he was still my cousin and Michelle and I intend on being there this evening.

* 18,668 days since my mom Evicted me from her body and said you're on your own son.

* It was 4,090 days ago that I Graduated from West Virginia University.

* It was 2,691 days ago that I had the pleasure of taking a wonderful woman out for our first date, I think she kind of liked me.

* 1,915 days ago I had made Michelle wait long enough and I proposed marriage to this wonderful woman.

* It was only 1,452 days ago in front of our closest friends and family that we had an our style  wedding at the Marilla Center. It was a Caribbean/Jimmy Buffett Theme and we had a great time.

* I have about 5,970 days to go until I enter into the world of retirement, give or take a few hundred here or there.

* There are only 236 more days to go until Spring 2016, my favorite season of the year.

* There are 156 more days until my Goodbye 2015 Blog, recounting my previous year based on what was placed right here in this blog will be posted. It's my last blog of the year.

* There are only 150 more shopping days left until Christmas, you still have plenty of time but this is when you might want to start planning.

* I have 126 days to go until the 31st anniversary of my 21st birthday. In case you are counting, I will still be 21 =)

* There are only 67 more days to go until the Springs Festival, this is usually the first taste we get that Summer is gone as it has been a little cold the last few years.

* There are only 47 more days until we set sail on our 2015 Cruise, this will be the fourth year in a row that we have taken this exact same cruise. I'm ready to do some snorkeling.

* There are only 39 more days until the start of the 215 WVU Football season. We open the season against Georgia Southern.

* There are only 16 more days to go until we see Jimmy Buffett once again, this has been an annual thing for Michelle and I since we first started dating.

* This is the 4,138th Blog that I have written for George's Journal, the nearly 11 year old daily recollection of my life and my experiences.

* I only have 9 days to go until mine and Michelle's Fourth Wedding Anniversary.

* The Brother Search hit a bit of a stumbling block this past week. I have heard back from the PA Department of Human Services and I am not eligible to get a copy of the birth certificate. I also reached out to Carol, and there is nothing new to report on their end.

* No work this week on the Hall Family Tree, it's summertime and have no desire to put much effort into it when it is nice outside and we can get out and do things.

* I spoke with Val briefly last week, I think she is leaning towards MTech for continuing her education. She wasn't too impressed from the reviews she read about Ross. Of course those reviews could be from people who gave half an effort and didn't make it work for them, the opportunities are there, it's up to you to take full advantage of them. No one is going to hand you anything in this life.

* Our extended weekend of dog sitting our God-Puppies is over with, they have returned to their Mommy and Daddy's. Something tells me we'll see them really soon though.

* We will be on the road once again this upcoming weekend as we head to Monaca PA for Johnny Paugh's second birthday party.

* Last night was the Mon County Fair Parade, the normal fair at the Fairgrounds opens up today.

* Have a great day

Monday

All good things must unfortunately come to an end and that does also include those fun filled things we refer to called weekends. Now it's time to stick our noses back on the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is that we do for a living, it's time to head back to work.

We had a great time at the Blackbears game yesterday, they won 4-3.

I did receive a little bit of bad news yesterday, Joyce Aiken passed away over the weekend. Mrs A as we all referred to her during my time at WVU. She was one that all students knew, especially if you received financial aid of any kind. Our condolences go out to Eugene, I'll update everyone with funeral information when I know it.

For those of you missing Mountain Fest, the Monongalia County Fair starts this evening with the Fair Parade with the regular Fair opening up tomorrow evening.

Tomorrow evening there is some kind of a memorial for Johnny Koon at Chic-Fil-A from 5:00 - 8:00 and Michelle and I are planning on attending and doing dinner there. Like anyone has to twist my arm to go to Chic-Fil-A...lol

Have a great day.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Nephew Daniel Edwin Bell a very Happy 31st Birthday today.

I'm not sure what Daniel has planned for the day or even if he has anything planned, but I would like to wish him a very Happy Birthday today.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit yet once again on a quiet Sunday Morning, it's a late recovery foe me but I am the first one to recover from that losing battle with the Sandman last night. I'm up early watching some Austin Powers movie and collecting my thoughts for the day.

We had a great time at the BFS Company Picnic yesterday, Michelle grabbed over 100 pictures that we are going to share with them to put put on their website at their discretion. Funny story though, after we left Michelle's ended up winning a 32" Television as the Grand Door Prize. That was a nice pleasant surprise after we left.

Today's agenda is a WV Blackbears game this afternoon. This will be our second game at the new ballpark, but it will be the first one for the Blackbears. We attended opening night for WVU earlier this year. We have four extra prime tickets, anyone want to go see a free baseball game his afternoon, contact me ASAP, as we do not intend on leaving these seats empty even if we have to give them to some strangers.

I hope all of you who have attended Mountain Fest have had a great time, they have managed to have some beautiful weather and all the festivities wind down today. I hope everyone who went had a memorable time.

Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the first one to recover from a losing battle with that dreaded Sandman last night and I'm up watching Carrie Fisher do a comedy special on HBO.

Today Michelle and I will be heading over to Mason Dixon Park for the BFS Companies company picnic. We missed last year but are fully intending on attending this years festivities. BFS companies is a large local company whose products and services extend much farther than anyone realizes. Michelle is the accounts payable manager for the corporate office, IOW she pays all the bills. LOL

Other than that no other plans for the day, we did get Mom's new couch moved for her a couple of days ago. Hayley's Fiance' Josh and his friend Juicy were a huge help (that means they did all the work) in moving Mom's new sectional to their home.

Mountainfest is going on full force around town. If all these motorcycles were cars it would be frustrating, but considering these are all nice Harley Davidsons and most of them are personalized and customized, it is a little refreshing to see all the different models and personalized bikes riding around town and the surrounding area.

Have a great day, allow yourselves a little extra time getting to where ever you may be traveling to today around Morgantown.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Best Siblings Ever
Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend, and a Big Ole Hairy Friday!

Well what is going on in and around Morgantown? WV Mountainfest is in full force around the area. Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over are embarking upon the city this weekend, please allow yourselves a little extra time getting around town as we will have a large increase in two wheeled traffic for a few more days.

Mine and Michelle's plans this weekend, well we do in fact have a couple of things planned. Tomorrow we will be attending her company picnic at Mason Dixon Park. We missed it last year, but are planning on attending this year. BFS Companies does a great job at planning and executing these events. We have went in years passed, but missed last years event, we are planning on being there tomorrow however for a good time.

Sunday we will be attending our first BlackBears game of the season. Michelle has got tickets from work and we're going to go and enjoy a nice afternoon of some Blackbear Baseball.

Have a great day, be careful and give yourselves a little extra time to get to where you are going.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look through all of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned, simply stolen off of the internet through the years or a video I created like this weeks. Little lost moments in time to post up and briefly relive here on on blog. Sometimes this is pretty easy, and sometimes it gets pretty difficult, but it has and always will be a whole lot of fun.

This was my first attempt by my mother to do a video like I do with all my Christmas videos. Everything was at her direction including what pictures to use and when they would appear in the video.

I think she did a pretty good job if I do have to say so myself.

Have a Great Day

Hump Day

Well here we are yet once again, the day that I am least inspired to write a blog and I am once again struggling for content. It is Wednesday though and if we get up over this dreaded Noontime hump, then it will all be down hill from there to another weekend.

I spoke with my niece Val a couple of days ago, I know that she is wanting to go back to school and continue her education and try to become a Phlebotomist.  She's looking into schools and may need a little bit of  assistance. I know MTech offers a Phlebotomy course who also offers Federal Financial Aid just click on the Financial Aid drop down, I'm quite sure she more than meets all of the pre-requisites. She is more than capable of doing this plus I think Jean would be extremely proud of her if she did this. Of course there is always the Ross Education Center if she wants to lean in another direction. What she deems as her biggest roadblock, is not a roadblock but a pathway. If anyone else may know a pathway in the medical field, please let either her or someone close to her know.

I know she is at that point where her kids are in school and she wants to do something else with her life. You can never go wrong with continuing your education, I was 35 years old before I ever entered into college and I know Jean was in her late 20's before she ever studied to become an LPN. It's never too late to better yourself and make yourself more marketable.

Have a Great Day

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well that dreaded thing we refer to as Monday is now behind us, it's time to start concentrating on a Tuesday and you know what what means . TIDBITS!!!

* 18,860 days ago my Mom went to the hospital for a hemorrhoid removal, but it ended up being my birth instead. Talk about hitting the lottery.

* It has been 4,083 days since I Graduated from West Virginia University and fulfilled a dream of mine.

* It was 2,684 days ago that Michelle and I went out on our very first date.

* It was 1,908 days ago that I proposed marriage to Michelle, right in our back yard at around 4:00 in the morning.

* 1,445 days ago in front of our closest friends and family at the Marilla Center, Michelle and I got ourselves hitched.

* I have around 5,977 days or so, give or take a few hundred of them here or there until I retire.

* There are only 243 days to go until my favorite season of the year, Spring 2016. I just love when everything is coming up new and the vibrant colors and smells of the season.

* Only 163 more days of content until I publish my Goodbye 2015 end of the year blog.

* There are 157 more shopping days left to go until Christmas.

* I only have 133 more days to go until I celebrate another anniversary of my 21st Birthday.

* There are only 74 more days to go until we attend the Springs Festival once again this year.

* In only 54 more days we will be setting sail once again on our 2015 Cruise, this will once again be the same cruise with the same ports of call, just with an upgraded ship.

* There are only 46 more days to go until the start of the 2016 WVU Football season.

* There are only a mere 23 days to go until we go and see Jimmy Buffett once again, we're ready to party down with the rest of the Pittsburgh area Parrot Heads.

* We are only 16 days away from Mine and Michelle's Fourth Wedding Anniversary.

* I have written 4,130 Blogs now for George's Journal in the nearly 11 years since I first started as a blogger.

* Nothing new this week on the Brother Search, I have not heard anything back from the agency that I have contacted and I have not heard anything back from Carol.

* No work on the Hall Family Tree this week, it's just that time of the year where I have better things to be doing. Once that ugly white stuff starts to fall I'll be working on it.

* Steelers Trivia has started, we will be on August 8th. If we win on August 8th we will advance to the Semi-Finals on September 5th and if we advance there we will compete once again on September 12th for the Championship. Last year when we won it, we were in Baltimore getting ready to go on our cruise when the Championship week played. Deja Vu?

* Our next few weekends are busy, anyone up for a small pot luck picnic in August sometime? I was thinking maybe turning back the hands of time and going to say Marilla Park for one if there is any interest. Just grab a table and everyone bring something.

* My Brother and Sister in Law Jim and Chris are having a free pool party at the Shack Neighborhood house this Sunday.

* Once again, traffic around this town will be growing in the next few days due to Mountainfest. Please allow yourselves a little extra time getting to where you are going.

* Have yourselves a great day

It Was 16 Years Ago Today

There are a lot of events that happen in your life that you tend to remember forever. Days that something special happened or days that one could consider tragic and a turning point in our lives.

July 20, 1999, 16 years ago today was in fact one of those days for me. It was the day that my Father, the man whom I am named after, passed away.

He left one heck of a legacy, that is for sure. Six Children (one we are still searching for), two women that he had married. Seven Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren with one more joining us next year as Moke and Ang are expecting their first child early next year.

He is gone, but he is definitely not forgotten as demonstrated in the Picnic that we just had last month. He would always make some awesome Potato or Macaroni Salad and wait until you were eating it. He would always walk up and ask you how you liked it, usually as you had a mouthful of the treat. Of course the answer was always good, then he would proceed to always say "Good, I Cut My Fingers Three Times Making It". Hence the fingers this summer in the Macaroni Salad.

When the kids were getting too rowdy for him or he just needed some peace and quiet, he would always say that the "Roads are Getting Bad" and it was time to go home. Of course he would also say that in the middle of the summer as well, that was just his little way of saying shut up.

RIP George Edward Hall Sr, it has been 16 years since you passed, but we still honor your life.

Monday's Suck

OK Monday, no one really likes you but yet you keep coming around every week to make us start another week of work. I guess it's time for all of us to put our collective noses back on the grindstone for another week if we want to be able to enjoy another fun filled weekend.

It was a great weekend for us here, after traveling Saturday we just pretty much stayed home yesterday after we did our weekly household running around. The temps were a little high, so we just stayed in and relaxed, but I'll take this any day over that dreaded white stuff that we all know I hate so much any day of the week.

Morgantown is about to get hammered with traffic here this week, WV MountainFest starts this week and will run thru the weekend, meaning that there will be a whole lot of extra traffic in the area of the two wheeled kind. Please be very careful and allow yourselves a little bit of extra time this week when traveling around town. We don't want to see anyone injured or killed because someone is getting frustrated due to the extra traffic around town. Take your time this week.

Have a great Day

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Three Sisters
Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm once again the first one to recover from a losing battle with the dreaded Sandman yesterday evening and am up collecting my thoughts for the day and watching Jury Duty on some upper channel on the boob tube.

We had a great day yesterday up in Beaver Pennsylvania with Michelle's side of the family, It was a nice and hot day, but Roy used a big tarp and provided everyone with ample shade in keeping everyone out of the direct sunlight. I put all of my pictures from yesterday HERE. We will be heading up north again in two weeks for another birthday party.

Today's plans are our normal Sunday agenda, finish up laundry and do our grocery shopping and just generally get prepared for the upcoming week ahead of us and maybe get into a few things around town. After a big day of traveling yesterday, my guess is today is going to be uneventful, but you just never known what may happen.

Have a great day.

Happy Birthday Kynlea Dalton

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my very beautiful great niece Kylea a very Happy Birthday today.

I have to admit that I forgot to write this early this morning and I take full responsibility for my tardiness in posting this blog, I am writing it remotely and do not have my PC at my disposal.

I'm not sure what Amy and Ralph have planned for this wonderful little girl today, but they do have a party planned for her on August 7th with her Brothers birthday as being celebrated then as well. I'm sure if will be something special for a very special little girl.

If you happen to see the lovely  Kynlea today, make sure that you wish her a very Happy Birthday today.

Happy Birthday Kynlea.

Saturday Morning Rambling

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the first to recover from a losing battle with that dreaded Sandman last night and I'm up collecting my thoughts for the day and watching Career Opportunities on HBO.

Chad is taking his Python Snake to work with him today, so if you would like to see a friendly 12' Python that is pretty thick, well fed and not the least aggressive stop up at PetCo and say hello to Chad and his very unique and friendly Berm.

Today Michelle and I take to the road and head to Beaver, Pennsylvania to her Sisters house for her niece Abby's Graduation/Birthday Party this afternoon. We'll head out and do a little shopping at Tanger Outlets first, Michelle wants to do a little bit of shopping. I know Michelle wants to stop and her and her kids favorite place to eat, the Hot Dog Shoppe that her and the kids absolutely love and grew up on before heading over to celebrate with Abby. I will take my cameras with me to capture the moments.

Michelle has been doing great since her episode Wednesday night, once again you wouldn't know anything even happened. It is a mystery to say the least.

Have a great day.

Well if you are looking for a little bit of cheap, and by cheap I mean free entertainment tonight, BOPARC will be showing the movie Dolphin Tale 2 at Jock Roberts Park. This is a great family movie if you have not seen it yet.

We had another episode with Michelle Wednesday Night where we had to call an ambulance to take her to the Emergency Room. Same symptoms as before but not as intense and a different diagnosis. She remembers everything this time and has no memory losses and and seemed to snap out of it much quicker. The diagnosis this time however was Complex Migraine but I'm not so sure how confident I am in that diagnosis.

Our weekend plans if at all possible will be traveling tomorrow to Michelle's Sister's home in Beaver for her niece Abby's Birthday/Graduation Party tomorrow afternoon. Michelle's health permitting of course but I think we will make it.

Have a Great Day

Little lost moments in time to post up and briefly relive here on on blog. Sometimes this is pretty easy, and sometimes it gets pretty difficult, but it has and always will be a whole lot of fun.

This weeks picture goes all the way back to 2005 (ignore the date on picture), February 2005 to be specific. My Nephew Randy, seen here with his Sister Amy, had just finished up the first portion of the Mountaineer Challenge Academy and was being given a weekend furlough. We had all stopped to see Randy and support him as he was making his way through this Challenge.

This picture was taken just after they were all dismissed and right before we all left to go to the Country Inn and celebrate his initial accomplishment with him. We were all proud of him on that day to say the least.

Have a great day.

Hump Day

Well that is two days down, two more ahead of us after today, now all we have to do is get up and over that noon time hump so that we are all on the downhill towards another fun filled weekend.

My lovely wife surprised me a couple of nights ago, she brought this little adorable toy home for me after work. Yes I am a big kid and just loved it. In case no one had noticed, I had done a number of Minion Tags to a number of my blogs over the past few months. I just find them cute, funny and heartwarming. Something tells me we will be heading to the theater in the very near future to see the Minions Movie. It is currently playing here in town.

Today is going to be a busy day for Chad, he's going to get a U-Haul and put the rest of his stuff in Storage from his apartment in Fairmont as he tries to clear that former residence out. I'm guessing the 12' Python will be moving to it's new home in our house today. He built a huge enclosure for it, but he's going to have to put that in storage as there is really no room to place it anywhere. No fears, it's a very tame snake although it's a very and thick snake for its size.

Phoenix Bakery has hit their initial goal on GoFundMe, which allows them to keep the lights on and do some repairs to the store as it sits idle. Hopefully they should be able to start producing some of that delicious bread here in the next month or so.

Have a Great Day

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well that dreaded day of the week that we all seem to hate (Monday) is now behind us and we are staring straight down the barrel of a Tuesday, can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* It was a short 18,853 days ago that my Mom evicted me from her body and said do your own breathing and even cut the umbilical cord...lol

* It was a late start, but I still managed to fulfill a dream of mine by graduating from West Virginia University 4,076 days ago.

* 2,677 days ago my life changed forever, I asked my old boss (and current) out for a date.

* It was 1,901 days ago that Michelle and I got engaged to each other, it was an early morning and she already knew it was coming.

* 1,438 days ago in front of our closest friends and family we had our wedding at the Marilla Center.

* I have around 5,984 days or so to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred here or there.

* There are only 250 more days to go until my favorite season of the year, Springtime!!!!

* In 170 more days my favorite blog of the yea, my Goodbye 2015 will be posted. This is where I recall the previous year based on what I have written in my blog.

* There are only 164 more shopping days left until Christmas, if you haven't started yet, you still have plenty of time.

* I have 140 days to go until I have another anniversary of my 21st Birthday.

* There are 81 more days to go until Michelle and I go to the Springs Festival

* In only 61 more days Michelle and I will once again set sail on our 2015 Cruise to the Caribbean aboard the newly remodeled and renovated Carnival Pride. We have our Hotel Room booked, now we are just waiting for the actual cruise to take off.

* There are only 53 more days until the start of the 2015 WVU Football season as they take on Georgia Southern.

* In 30 more days we will be partying with Jimmy Buffett once again and the rest of all the Pittsburgh area Parrot Heads.

* In 23 more days Michelle and I will be celebrating our Fourth Wedding Anniversary.

* This is the 4,121st Blog that I have written for George's Journal, I'm just a couple of months away from my 11th Anniversary as a blogger.

* No work this week on the Hall Family Tree, it's just the wrong time of the year for me to be working on it. When you see me giving my opinion of snow, is probably when I will be working on it.

* Still nothing new on the Brother search, I'm still waiting to hear back from anyone, I guess this is a slow process and we seem to have hit a wall. I still have one more really good trick up my sleeve if nothing breaks on either of my research fronts.

* Chad should bee getting a U-Haul tomorrow and throwing most of his stuff in storage from his Apartment in Fairmont.

* I know the Steelers Trivia Show has started, not sure what week they are on. The Pudgy Polamalus (Defending Champions) will make their first appearance of the season in week number 4. Can they repeat (actually a third title with this team, second under this name).

* My sister Pam has been diagnosed with a possible Hiatal Hernia, she met with her surgeon last week. My guess is they are going to try to control it with oral medications.

* The Major League All Star Game is this evening. The Pittsburgh Pirates will have 4 representatives in tonight's game. The Pirates are 18 games over .500 at the All-Star Break, I don't think I have ever seen them with this strong of a start to the season.

* The 2016 WVU Football Recruiting season is off to a very good start, there is still a long way to go until February's Letter of Intent Day, but the Mountaineers already have 15 Commitments from High School Seniors to be for joining the team for the 2016 season.

* The new Access Road to the Airport should be opening up later this month. No idea what the big hold up is, it appears to be completed, but I haven't seen the whole thing yet either.

* We are a little over a week away from the start of WV MountainFest

* Have a Great Day

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that includes those fun filled things we love so much called Weekends. Now it's time to stick our collective noses back on the grindstone for another five days of doing what we do for a living.

Looking back to yesterday and remembering the end of our weekend it was pretty much uneventful. We did finally try Dickie's BBQ yesterday for lunch. I have to say I'm not a big person on smoked meats, or at least I never used to be, but this place was absolutely phenomenal, we loved it and it's less than a mile form our house. We will definitely be back as we both loved it.

Looking at our week ahead, it doesn't look busy  for me, but Michelle is always swamped at work. Of course that can all change pretty quickly for me, so I'm not getting too excited...lol

I hope everyone enjoyed the nice weather that we had this weekend, of course the forecast as it has all summer doesn't look that pleasant but we've managed to have some pretty decent weather.

Have a great day

Sunday Morning Rambling

Well here I sit yet once again on a quiet Sunday Morning. I'm the first one to recover from a losing battle with the dreaded Sand Man from last night. We are watching Gracie for Hayley this evening as she ran to Ohio for the evening. I'm up watching HBO and collecting my thoughts for the day.

Yesterday we had no plans, but that wasn't how it worked out. We started out the day heading to Preston County to Ball's Auction House to see where this place was actually located and see what they had.

We did have a little bit of a detour prior to that though as we visited Hovatters Wildlife Zoo on our way to Eastern Preston County. It had been a while since we had been there and Michelle wanted to feed Carrots to some Giraffes, so we are lucky to live close enough that we can do this enjoyable experience.

The day concluded with a visit to the Cool Springs Store  before finally heading on some scenic roads back to Morgantown. I do have to say I have shown and familiarized Michelle with parts of West Virginia she had never seen before.

Normal Sunday, our shopping and finishing up laundry, so it should be uneventful as we prepare to return to work tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Angela McClain

I would like to take this opportunity to with the lovely Angela McClain a very Happy Birthday today.

Ang has been in our family much longer than the upcoming five years that her and Moke have been married, she has always been part of our family from the very first time that we ever met her.

Ang is also an expectant first time Mother to be and her and Moke are expecting their first child early next year.

I'm not sure what Moke has planned for his lovely wife today, but if you happen to see her make sure that you take a little time out and wish her a very Happy Birthday today.

Happy Birthday Ang.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit yet once again in the early Morning and a nice and quiet household. I'm the first one to recover from getting knocked out by that dreaded Sandman last night and I'm up watching something or another on HBO and collecting my thoughts for the day.

Our next few weekends are going to be pretty busy, so we are probably just going to take it pretty easy this weekend. You need some days like these every once in a while just to wind down and relax a little. I need to take Chad to work in a couple of hours, so that may be the highlight of my day but you just never know with us.

Last night everyone gave Chad a hand in moving some things up here. Michelle and I treated everyone to dinner last night at the Pokey Dot in Fairmont. It was actually the first time that Michelle, Hayley and Chad (and Josh and I) had all went out to dinner (other than large family functions) in years. It was a memorable evening to say the least and I know it was one Michelle will cherish.

I know I have a few family members who are big fans of the Hillbilly Gypsies, they will be playing this evening at Chestnut Ridge Park starting at 6:00.

Have a great day.

There are no BOPARC Movies this evening, however the free movies will return next Friday evening with a showing of the movie Dolphin Tale 2 that will be played at Jack Roberts Park.

No plans as of yet for Michelle and I, I suppose we will be assisting Chad in finalizing his move back to our house. He has been moving things as he can all week long, maybe we can make some big progress with him and pretty much finalize everything this weekend. He still has the apartment in Fairmont for a few more weeks, but the car situation with him and getting back to work here in Morgantown made it nearly impossible.

The weather looks like it might actually be nice this weekend, that's pretty much a first for a while as far as the forecasting goes, but the weather has been nicer than the forecasts fortunately. Maybe if we get a chance we'll do a little bit of grilling and stay around this weekend as next weekend is a travel weekend for us.

Have a Great Day

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all of the pictures that I have either taken with a camera, scanned or just simply stolen from some place on the internet. Little lost moments in time that I post up and reflect upon. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not so easy. One thing it always is however is a whole lot of fun.

This weeks pic goes back a little over four years, back to the Spring of 2011 when my niece Amy held an Easter Egg Hunt at her home. She had hid all the eggs all around the property and then the kids went and found them with all of the threats in them. They wanted to rehide the eggs so that they could find them again, so that is what we did.

This picture was taken after the second hunt was over with. It seems like only yesterday that this picture was taken, the kids have grown so much on those four years, Amy donated those long locks to locks of love and Jean is now only in our memories.

Have a great day

Hump Day

Well that is once again two days down, there are two more ahead of us after today, now all we need to do is get up over the dreaded noontime hump and it will be all downhill moving to another weekend.

I have to once again admit, that the hardest blog of the week for me to come up with any significant content for is Wednesdays. Weekends are easy and the days leading into or following the weekend are also pretty easy. Tuesday's and Thursdays have themes that pretty much write them selves and that leaves poor lonely Wednesday as the most difficult blog to write about and this one is no different.

One thing that is changing is Michelle's son Chad is moving back in with us, he has been living in Fairmont the last two years attending Fairmont State and I think just plans on taking online classes this coming Semester, or at least that is the last I heard. Their car broke down last week and Michelle rented him one for a week to get back and forth to work, but that week is now over with and the car has been returned. He works at Petco here in Morgantown, so this was a logical decision to move back in with us more than anything else as it's closer to his employment.

Have yourselves a great day and always make the most out of each and every one of them,

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well Monday is once again over with, the work week has started and we're just rolling on along. Still can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* It has been 18,846 days and counting since my birth some 21 + years ago.

* 4,069 days ago I fulfilled a dream of mine and Graduated from West Virginia University.

* It was 2,670 days ago that Michelle and I went out on our very first date. It was Pizza and a lousy movie that we have never watched again, but it was a special night.

* It was 1,894 days ago that Michelle and I became engaged.

* It was 1,431 days ago that Michelle and I officially tied the knot and got hitched. In front of our closest family and friends at the Marilla Center.

* I have 5,991days to go, give or take a few hundred here or there until I enter into the world of  retirement, unless of course I win a very large sum of money then I'll just travel the world.

* There are only 257 more days to go until Spring 2016, my favorite season of the year.

* There are 177 more days to go until my Goodbye 2015 Blog is published.

* There are only 171 more shopping days left to go until Christmas, you still have plenty of time, but it's never too late to start planning.

* There are only 147 more days to go until the Anniversary of my 21st birthday.

* There are only 88 more days to go until we head to the Springs Festival once again.

* There are only 68 more days to go until we once again set sail on our 2015 Cruise.

* There are only 60 more days to go until the 2015 WVU Football season gets started.

* In only 37 more days we will be partying down with Jimmy Buffett in Pittsburgh.

* In only 30 more days Michelle and I will be celebrating our Fourth Wedding Anniversary together,

* This is the 4,113th Blog that I have written for George's Journal, the decade old daily occurrence of my life Journal on the internet.

* No work this week on the Hall Family Tree, weather is too mice and the days are still too long.

* Nothing new to report on the Brother search, we are still waiting to hear back from any of the agencies we have inquired through for information.

* Tuesday's tidbits is the most time consuming blog that I write during the week, I always try to get at least 25 bullet points each week. There are the ones I plug in and that accounts for about 80% of them, it's the rest of them that I sometimes struggle with.

* I spoke to Mom and Gerald Sunday evening, they are loving their new Television.

* We empty nesters are now no longer empty nesters, Chad is moving back in to our humble home. His 12' Python (snake) will be joining him...lol

* We did go see Ted 2 over this past weekend, I do have to say that watching through the seven trailers (there always seems to be seven trailers leading into a movie) that there looks to be a number of movies that I am going to want to see in the near future such as Jupiter Ascending, Star Wars VII, and a few others like the next installment of Vacation.

* Have a great day

Monday

All good things must unfortunately come to an end, that even includes those extended three day holiday weekends that are just a little more special. Time to put the BBQ's and the memories of the weekend up and start looking ahead to another fun filled week of working.

I would like to thank everyone for this past weekend, either in helping us accomplish something or inviting us to come and eat some food, the entire weekend was very memorable.

My week ahead looks pretty empty, but that can always change at the drop of a hat and very often does.

We have nothing planned for this coming weekend, but we'll be heading north the following weekend for Michelle's nieces Graduation party. Dani and Roy waited till a time closer to her birthday to hold the Graduation Party for her, and I think the party coincides with her birthday.

Looking at the extended weather forecast, it looks the same as it has looked. Horrible, but we have been lucky with the weather that we have actually had.

Have a Great Day.

Sunday Morning Rambling

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, I'm the first one to recover from a losing battle with that dreaded Sandman last night and I'm up early collecting my thoughts for the day and watching Idiocracy on HBO.

We had a great day yesterday at the Rosiak Party, I had my annual picture taken with Pat as we seem to have done every year. Thanks to Frank and Pat for welcoming me to their family for the 18th straight year.

Other than that, we didn't get into a whole lot yesterday, straightened up around the house and that was about it. We were in bed long before the fireworks started downtown, as it seems we do every year, I guess neither of us really get excited about them anymore. I know Pam and George went to see them on top of one of the parking garages downtown.

Today's plans are just our normal Sunday, grocery shopping and finishing up laundry to get ready for another fun filled week of work. It's been an eventful 4th of July weekend so far, so you never know what else might come up today.

If you are traveling today, allow yourself a little extra time and stay safe.

Have a great day.

Happy 4th of July

Here I sit on a not so early Saturday the 4th of July morning, I've finally woke up and I'm here collecting my thoughts for the day.

First off yesterday was a pretty eventful day for us, two of my sisters and I surprised Mom and Gerald with a new TV yesterday after the TV they were watching really went on the fritz and they had to pull an older one out of storage. (See video below. Thank you to Kim and Terri for the inspiration and assistance and to my niece Brittany and my lovely wife Michelle to whom all helped make this happen.

Last night we stayed up way past our bedtime and went to the theater to see the movie Ted 2. We loved the original and had to see this the sequel after we heard it was hilarious. For you over the age of 50, Regal Cinemas gives a huge ticket discount for AARP members. It's actually cheaper to go during prime time with the discount that to the matinee without it.

Today's plan to celebrate our nations 239th Birthday will be to head on over to the Rosiak 4th of July party once again. This will be my 18th consecutive year that I have attended this party and this is the one day of the year I bring out the giant super soaker (I've had it for 18 years now) for the epic water battle that we have every year.

Michelle had baked a three layer Red, White and Blue Cake for today. I'm kind of anticipating digging my teeth into it. Should be a great day for us.

I did talk to my sister Pam yesterday, she is trying to get a feel for what everyone is going to do for Fireworks this evening. Michelle and I have not went to see fireworks for a few years as we are early to bed types, but you never know what is going to happen if the weather permits.

Have yourself a great, Happy and safe 4th of July.

Big Ole Hairy 4th of July Holiday Weekend

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the start of a three day 4th of July Holiday Weekend!!!!

Not sure what we specifically we will be getting into, or at least not much that I'm going to reveal at this time. I do know know Michelle is planning on baking a Red, White and Blue Cake for the Rosiak Family 4th of July Picnic tomorrow that we always attend. Maybe one or two other things, but I'm not sure of any details as of yet.

The flag you see in this picture is a Flag we got for my niece Brittany. We had it flown over the US Capital on the day she Graduated from WVU. We just grabbed a few pictures of it this past weekend, so I thought that this would be a good time to use it.

Have a great day and a great and safe Holiday Weekend. If you are traveling, slow down and take your time, you'll get there in one piece. =)

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all of the images that I have stored. Little lost moments in time that were either captured with a lens, scanned from an older picture or just stolen from some place on the internet. I like to select just one image and relive it here on my blog. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, then there are times when it is just a special moment like this one.

This weeks pic goes clear back to Tuesday of this week, Chad's Birthday and the day that Hayley and her boyfriend Josh officially became engaged. They are no longer boyfriend and girlfriend and have moved to the pre-marital status of engaged.

They have been together for a while now and have been living together for about a year. They have now made it official. No date has been set as of yet, but she now has a ring on her finger.

Congratulations Hayley and Josh.

Wednesday

Well here we are, most of my workweek has been completed and I just have two more days to go since Friday will be recognized as the 4th of July Holiday (which actually falls on Saturday) and we will be off work celebrating this Federal Holiday.

Well I had to go buy another easy up Monday night, the cheap $69.00 one from Kmart (I have 2 of them) that I let sit outside for a couple of Summers finally gave in to a weakened frame from all the rain and collapsed. So I went out and replaced the one that collapsed (not the one I brought to the picnic) with a 12' X 12' one from Lowes. It's just one that we use when we tailgate for Buffett along with my 10' x 10' one (we use 2), so this one should last us a good while. Especially if I don't set it up and let it sit outside every day for about 3 hot summers in a row.

I did run into my Cousin Lynne yesterday morning before heading into work. She has been suffering Migraines lately and with all of the rain we have been having wasn't feeling too good. I suggested Her, Michelle and Me go out to dinner one night, I think this will be happening in the near future.

Have a Great Day
