Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through some of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet through the years and find one special picture that stands out. Little lost moments in time from yesterday caught with a Cameras lens and relived right here in my blog. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it consistently is however is a whole lot of fun.

This weeks picture goes back nearly 13 years, back to a time when I worked for VARGIS who later became Infotech who is now Cyient. I was the ArcGIS guy at this facility in Frostburg and my Aerial Triangulation guy was a man named Anand whom I remained friends with for years after leaving Infotech. He was from Hyderbad India and was in the US when his house was being constructed.

I have had a handful of WOW moments as a professional, when I seen a new technology that was coming out that was going to revolutionize the industry. One of those was Google Earth. I was working in Frostburg when it was released and in a Photogrammatry lab no less, what guys line Anand and is make features for Google Earth. I'm more the planimetric information (points, lines, Polygons) and Anand was the imagery, so we were both portions of what made up much of Western Maryland's information in Google Earth.

I remember him being amazed and seeing his home being constructed for the first time that was in India, from Frostburg using this new technology that we know as Google Earth.

I last spoke with Anand a few years ago, he was trying to get into the US permanently to work. Great guy, very skilled and we worked very well together.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hump Day

Two days of this work week completed. Check. Two more ahead of us before the next weekend. Check. That must mean this is Wednesday and over the hump day. Come on noon time when the uphill ceases and the downhill journey for the next weekend commences. It is Hump Day.

I swear sometimes my blogs are just repetitive and almost to the point where I'm thinking about changing direction of them. They served their purpose for over 14 years, and I have written over 5,500 + blogs during that time period. Maybe it is just coming to the time when my life is just repetitive and I don't have much to say.

Writing this blog has become more of a tedious task as if I am trying to meet a deadline rather than just talking about my day or things that have went on in my life. Truth be told, press time for me writing this particular blog is 6:00 AM this past Sunday morning. I've been just taking one day a week (Sunday) and writing Monday through Friday's Blogs and the weekend blogs are both live blogs. How much thought can you really put into a journal when it is that repetitive using a regimented structure.

Michelle and I both live very busy lives, the only problem part of that word busy is that they are both primarily work related where there really isn't a whole lot of free time. Throw that in with us getting towards the end of winter and that long boring what I call dull time of the year and that does not help the creative juices flow.

Just rambling, but it is a real thought.

Have yourselves a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is now over with and we are will continue to attempt to take over dominate the world today, so I thought that this would be a good reason to do a tidbits.

* It has been 20,176 since I was born, that seems like a big number but it seems like just yesterday I was playing little league baseball.

* It has been 5,399 days since my commencement from WVU happened, which I still sometimes feel like student.

* 4,000 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, yep we have hit that big magical round number of 4,000. Yeah Us.

* 3,224 days ago I got down on one knee and asked Michelle to be my wife. It was 4:00 in the morning in the back yard, but she was up and ready as she knew it was coming.

* It was 2,761 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I were married.

* I have now lived 387 days longer than my Dad did, just goes to show you his life was too short.

* I have 4,661 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, like I said I love what I do and who knows when I would retire.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 1,285 days away. It has been too long since the last time we beat them. We did just announce a home and home series with Alabama this past week, that could be potentially another count down item.

* 341 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, we love Phil with his prediction this year.

* 308 more days to go until my Goodbye 2019 Blog is posted, where I relive the previous year through what was posted right here in my blog.

* There are 301 more shopping days left until Christmas 2019, I am starting to wonder when Walmart will put their Christmas stuff back out.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 278 more days, this should be about my 35th Anniversary of it.

* There are 161 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eighth Wedding Anniversary together, seems like only yesterday.

* There are 21 days until the next start of my favorite season, SPRING. My daffodils are starting to pop their heads up out of the ground and Peanut is sitting and watching with great anticipation.

* I have written 5,557 blogs in the 14 1/4+ years since I wanted to try this  thing called blogging.

* No Drone flights this weekend, it's still winter but I want to get out and fly a little more this coming Spring.

* I still need a new impossible project. I need a goal to be working towards, but can't really think of anything at this time. Maybe there is nothing that motivates me like me two previous ones of finding Grandpa's Music and finding my long lost brother.

* My brother in Law Jim is having another auction, March 2 at the Woodland United Methodist Church if anyone is interested. It's this Saturday, so come on out and see if you can find yourself a deal.

* Still patiently awaiting to hear anything from BOPARC on the 2019 Softball season. The boys of Summer are ready to re-assemble.

* Do you know that we are only a mere 12 days away from the start of Daylight Savings time? It will run from March 10th to November 3rd and I am ready to sacrifice an hours sleep for warmer weather and more daylight.

* Yes I am suffering from Seasonal Affect Disorder (SAD). I need longer days and more sunlight, I'm done with this Winter thing for 2019.

* I got lucky this weekend, I found a pair of beats ear buds when I was out working. I've cleaned them up and am taking them to the office, they will work just fine with my little AM radio that I listen to every day. I listen to Talk of the Town and Hoppy and the statewide talkline from 9:00 till noon pretty much everyday.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Back to Work

So much for all that fun and relaxation from yesterday's day off, now it is time to put those noses back on the grindstone for yet another week of doing what it is we do for a living. It is Monday and it is time to start another fun filled week of work.

Looking at my schedule ahead this week, just have a couple of safety meetings, so I will probably be spending most of this coming week sitting at the computer editing geospatial data. I've seen some ideas from other labs and I want to have the base information available to a certain quality and standard and am working to achieve that. I did it once before, but that was long before I had access to all my editing tools and licenses. Now that I have everything I need, I'm redoing it and redoing it right.

Michelle has a job fair tomorrow and they will have a few of them around the area and bordering states the next few weeks. She will be traveling to Uniontown and the old Uniontown Mall to work that fair. They have a few more in the coming weeks including one in I think Charleston and one somewhere in Virginia. Her old employer's parent company just announced a $1.2 Billion investment to the area converting to other forms of production, so there is a chance to land another big contract. They are really growing this company quickly and it all started with a Phone call from her old HR Director at Mepco needing an Office Manager.

Have yourselves a great day today

Sunday

Here I am once again on a quiet Sunday Morning, I'm up early trying to stop a nose bleed and collecting my thoughts for the day. Something is playing on the boob tube behind me, but I'm not paying attention to what is even on.

On thing I did notice this past week, our daffodils are starting to peak their heads up through the ground. Peanut has been watching with great anticipation, she knows when those pop up the weather is getting warmer and the days longer. What does that all mean in the world of Peanut? She gets some Meoutside time in the very near future.

We started to put our roster together for the 2019 Sr Softball league, Ron and Sarabeth will once again sponsor us as Whitetail Crossing, everyone was kind of beating around the bush and wouldn't ask him, but I asked and he wants to sponsor us again this year. Now we just have to hope that there is a league. Last years league director is no longer in that role and all of the umpires from last year, especially the ones with long tenures have been told their services are no longer needed. BOPARC usually has their information out for the season by now, so I have to say I am a little confused as to what is going on or if there will even be BOPARC softball for 2019. Everybody and anybody who has made the league run for the last 30+ years is gone.

It's a day off today once again for Michelle and I both, she got payroll done yesterday and I did my field work, so we are both at home for the day with the exception of our weekly grocery shopping and bread run.

Have yourselves a peaceful Sunday and know that my buddy Phil has said Spring is right around the corner.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household one again, I'm up in the wee hours of the morning trying to wake up and pretending to be collecting my thoughts for the day. Truth be told I'm taking my happy butt back to bed after writing this, I'm still tired.

We did have a little bit of a scare this past week, a family member had some very serious health issues and Michelle ran back home to Pittsburgh for a night. Serious enough that it could very well have been fatal, but they had a couple stents put in and are now back home and resting and recovering.

Mine and Michelle's plans for the day, what else, we are both going to work our other jobs. I'm out in the field again, but it is not going to be a very long day. Short of me actually obtaining one of my elusive interviews, I should only be out an hour or so it that. It's about time to bring in the follow up person in to see if they can have any luck. The Morgantown area is a very hard area to predict, fast paced and transient people don;t develop patterns like someone who may live out in the country.

Well it is time for me to take my happy butt back to bed for a while.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

Once again no big plans for us this weekend, I know we are getting boring, other than I'm going out to do a little bit of field work tomorrow morning (I know the story of my life the last six weeks), but hopefully the weather will start warming up and I can maybe get a drone flight in here in the very near future. It's been a while and it is long overdue if you know what I mean.

I do have to say Spring has to be getting closer, Peanut spends all day sitting by the sliding glass door hoping to see the daffodils pop their heads up, she knows that when she sees them that her Meowtside time is starting for the season. Phil did predict and early spring and I have a feeling the shorts and sandals weather is right around the corner.

Have yourselves a great day.

Let's go back this week to a time when my Geography career was actually just getting started. Yes I had worked as a GIS Project specialist for WVU all through school and even close to a year since I had graduated, but when I got my job with VARGIS (who later became Infotech) it was the real start to my professional career. WVU was where I learned my trade, it was VARGIS was where I learned a totally new aspect of it in working in the world of planimetric compilation.

This picture was actually taken on our "Official" Opening day, although we had been there for over a month already working, this was when we opened to doors to everyone to come in and see what it was that we did there on the campus of Frostburg State University This is a picture of our initial crew of workers, which did change through the next couple of years as we added another shift and seen many new faces come and go. I worked for VARGIS for a little over three years before moving on.

Have yoursleves a great day

Hump Day

There is always that one day of the week when I really and honestly don't have much to talk about. It's falls in between the Tuesday's Tidbits and the Photo Flashback Thursdays. It is the Wednesday blog that I suffer the most with for content to write about.

I do have a life full of memories, good memories that would make great stories, I just sometimes lack the ability to put it into words and place it on the internet.

This is one of those weeks when Derp Derp Derp is about the most creative thing that my mind can come up with. So feel free to imagine I just wrote a life changing and award winning blog of the year. You can add your own content and make the story your own, just give me credit for it. lol

Have a great day

Tuesday's Tidbits

* My three day weekend is now complete, time to head back into the office and start a new week, I guess since it is Tuesday that calls for a tidbits.

* It has been 20,169 since I was born, it brings your life into a different perspective when you look how many days you have been alive.

* It has been 5,392 days since I graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Geography, yes I am still a Geography Geek. Mr Geospatial as I was referred to when I introduced Michelle to a co-worker last Friday.

* 3,993 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, actually it was her that started this countdown, I just continued it.

* 3,217 days ago I got down on one knee and asked Michelle to be my wife. It was 4:00 in the morning in the back yard, but she was up and ready as she knew it was coming.

* It was 2,754 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I got ourselves hitched. How many people do you know that can tell you how many days they have been married?

* I have now lived 380 days longer than my Dad did, just goes to show you his life was too short.

* I have 4,668 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, like I said I love what I do and who knows when I would retire.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 1,292 days away. It has been too long since the last time we beat them. It has been 2,644 days since we last beat them in Football, and that is too long of a stretch.

* 348 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, we love Phil with his prediction this year.

* 315 more days to go until my Goodbye 2019 Blog is posted, where I relive the previous year through what was posted right here in my blog.

* There are 309 more shopping days left until Christmas 2019, you have plenty of time to plan and get ready. Of course you could wait till after Christmas and get the stuff cheaper...lol Just saying.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 285 more days, this should be about my 35th Anniversary of it.

* There are 168 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eighth Wedding Anniversary together, seems like only yesterday.

* There are 29 days until the next start of my favorite season, SPRING. Now I guess I have to contemplate on whether or not I am going to play Softball this season.

* I have written 5,550 blogs in the 14 1/4+ years I have been writing my very first Blog. A lot has happened in those years, from people people graduating, to people passing to seeing marriages and birthdays to new births.

* No Drone flights this weekend, it's still winter but I want to get out and fly a little more this coming Spring.

* I still need a new impossible project. Something I can work towards and accomplish. I'm feeling unchallenged.

* One project I need to strive for this spring is to find a way to re-secure the vase on Jean's part of her and Dad's Tombstone. The vase part has been knocked off, and I need to find a way to secure it on there more permanently.

* My brother in Law Jim is having another auction, March 2 at the Woodland United Methodist Church if anyone is interested.

* Michelle has a job fair at the Uniontown Mall next week. Business is booming for them.

* Speaking of Booming, what the hell is up with Antonio Brown? Seriously, you have a contract you Prima Donna, show up do what your paid to do and shut up.

* Just for shits and giggles I drove by my Dad's old house this past weekend, someone is now living in it and they seem to have fixed it up.

* We have started talking about putting together a our softball team for 2019. Not sure if we are keeping the same sponsor or changing, or who is even coaching this year. Smitty is hanging up up and not coaching this year, plus I think BOPARC replaced everyone, so it's going to be wait and see.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

President's Day

This will be a Monday that I enjoy, and Michelle will work. Today is the start of another fun filled work week, but it is also President's Day, which is a Federal Holiday and I'm off from my career job today.

Michelle on the other hand is starting a new fun filled week of working both jobs, although I am probably going to go out this morning and work for RTI with the truth be told. It's not going to be a long day, but one that I do intend on going out into the field on so it won't be a complete holiday so to speak.

Other than working this morning, I'm probably not going to get into a lot today. This is the time of the year when my life is rather boring, and to be honest I would feel more productive in the office today, but I'll take that day off and get a little bit of R and R today.

I hope everyone has a great day

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household, I'm up around the time I wake up every day surfing the net. The movie Deadpool 2 is playing on HBO on the TV behind me and I'm trying to plan out the less than eventful day.

Last night Michelle and I went to the Woodland United Methodist Church for a Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser. It's where Jim and Chris go to church and they are going to start doing monthly dinners are fund raisers for the church. Speaking of the Church, Jim's next Auction will be March 2 at the Church.

Schedule for Michelle and I today, obviously our Sunday morning grocery shopping, we love going at that time because it is when the store is the least crowded and low key. Although, I swear everyone is using that shop online stuff and there must be 5 or 6 people gathering groceries in their carts disturbing my peaceful Sunday morning routine.

Michelle and I are both off today from both of our jobs. If this were about 20 years ago, I would be extra excited today as it is the start of racing season and the Daytona 500. I doubt if I even know many of the drivers that drive today, as most of the ones I used to watch are now retired.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household, finally recovering from getting knocked out by the Sandman last night. I'm up collecting my thoughts for the day and attempting to make sure my eyes stay open.

Both Michelle and I are planning on working today, she's going to the Vet's and I'm going to go out into the field and work for RTI. My day is going to be rather short as I will be attempting to completely close one section and just trying to find a couple people home at the other one. Michelle is going into the Vet today, and I think we are both going to be off tomorrow.

Michelle went over tho her Sister Chris's last night for dinner, Jonnie and Maddie are in town and they were having a Pizza Party. I just came home after shopping at Sam's and put everything away then played on the internet for a little while. I didn't get into anything exciting and probably won't this evening either. This is the time of the year that I usually just wait patiently, or impatiently if that is more appropriate, for Spring.

Have yourselves a great day today as I continue to wake up.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday and the start of another fun filled and a three day Holiday weekend.

Monday is President's Day, a Federal Holiday, meaning that we are giving this day as one of our Holidays. I better enjoy it, because now we start that long stretch between Holidays as the next one is Memorial Day at the end of May.

Now the next question, what am I getting myself into with this long Holiday weekend? Am I doing something exciting? Nope, probably work tomorrow for RTI and that will be the extent of it. Other than that, neither Michelle or I have any plans. I appreciate the day off, but I'll just be twiddling my thumbs.

Have yourselves a great day.

What better picture could I post for Valentine's Day, other than a picture of my Valentine. This image was taken last Summer on the second formal night of our cruise. I decided to lose the jacket for this picture rather than looking uptight and uncomfortable.

Michelle is of course my Valentine, and my rock. She is the key to my life and everything about it.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hump Day

Welcome to the hardest blog of the week to write. Yes we do have two days down, a couple more ahead of us and all we have to do is get up and over this noon time hump, but this is still the most difficult blog of the week to write.

Why is this blog so difficult you may ask? Every other day of the week I either have a theme or something to talk about. Either the weekend, the start or end of the week. This day however is just one big brain fart sometimes.

Michelle will be at the WVU Mountainlaire for the better part of the day, not sure they will be trying to hire people, but more than likely will be trying to land new clients more than anything. They are growing and that is always a good thing.

Anyone done their taxes yet? Any pleasant or unpleasant surprises that you were not anticipating. I know I saw a report last week that showed the number of people who filed early (getting returns) has dropped off significantly. Meaning more than likely money is owed rather than money coming back.

Have yourselves a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is completed, now I'm staring straight down the barrel of a Tuesday, except for Blue Footed Boobies and the Sloth coming over I can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* It has been 20,162 since I blessed this world with my existence, that is in fact a lot of days.

* It has been 5,385 days since I graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Geography, best career decision I ever made in my life.

* 3,986 days ago Michelle and I went out for Pizza and to see the movie 10,000 BC.

* 3,210 days ago I got down on one knee and asked Michelle to be my wife. It was 4:00 in the morning in the back yard, but she was up and ready as she knew it was coming.

* It was 2,747 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I got ourselves hitched. How many people do you know that can tell you how many days they have been married?

* I have now lived 373 days longer than my Dad did, he missed out on so much due to his early passing. My sister Kim  achieved that same milestone last Friday. Now Jonathan, myself and Kim have done it, Terri is up next on the Countdown.

* I have 4,675 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, like I said I love what I do.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 1,299 days away. Need to kick some Panther kitty butt.

* 355 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, we love Phil with his prediction this year.

* 322 more days to go until my Goodbye 2019 Blog is posted, where I relive the previous year through what was posted right here in my blog.

* There are 316 more shopping days left until Christmas 2019, you have plenty of time to plan and get ready. Of course you could wait till after Christmas and get the stuff cheaper...lol Just saying.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 292 more days, this should be about my 35th Anniversary of it.

* There are 175 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eighth Wedding Anniversary together, seems like only yesterday.

* There are 36 days until the next start of my favorite season, SPRING. Now I guess I have to contemplate on whether or not I am going to play Softball this season.

* I have written 5,543 blogs in the 14 1/4+ years I have been writing my Blog. I find it amazing I have stuck with it this long.

* No Drone flights this weekend, it's still winter but I want to get out and fly a little more this coming Spring.

* I need a new impossible project. I found Grandpa Hall's Music collection a few years ago by accident, then I went and traced down my long lost brother Jonathan last year. I need a new challenge, something that seems impossible and something to strive for.

* One project I need to strive for this spring is to find a way to re-secure the vase on Jean's part of her and Dad's Tombstone. The vase part has been knocked off, and I need to find a way to secure it on there more permanently.

* Speaking of graveyards, Sheila got in contact with me while I was in DC and asked how everyone was doing. She is going to come up here this Spring and replace the flowers on Mick's grave and wanted to know if Michelle and I would like to get together. Might be a good time to address the previous bullet point.

*  Michelle is attending a job fair tomorrow at the WVU Mountainlaire.

* She has another one two weeks from tomorrow at the Uniontown Mall, her company is also just about to explode as they are about to sign with a new biggest client and this one is quite large as in Multi Billion (yes with a B) dollar a year company.

*  Have I ever mentioned that I Hate Snow?

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All Good things must come to an end, and yes that does include those fun filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living.

Looking at my week ahead, I do have a couple of meeting scheduled, but most of my week will be doing a lot of editing. I've taken on a project to create a very what I call valuable data set, but it is also one that is going to be very time consuming. It's going to be the base of a type of spatial data that is really not captured, but I did a project something like it last year and now I see ESRI is going to start to support Indoor GIS and I want to be ahead of the curve for my profession.

I think Michelle is working at the Vet today and tomorrow, I may go out for an interview if I get a call, but other than that I should be home during the evenings this week. My segments are almost as worked down as they are going to get, there is still one potential interview out there but the rest are redundant trips to places where I have found no one home for six weeks now. Not sure if they are going to send me out on the road, this coming weekend is a long three day Federal Holiday Weekend with next Monday being President's Day.

Have yourselves a great day and a great start to your week.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household, Sophie the cat is up on the bar neb-shitting around and about ready to knock something to the ground, but other than that it is quiet and peaceful. I'm watching 2012 on the TV behind me and thinking about putting a movie on and falling back to sleep.

Well today for only the second time since New Years day, I'm not working either of my two jobs. I broke my streak last Sunday, now I'm breaking a six day streak today and going to enjoy the day with my wonderful wife.

Grocery shopping and laundry are on today's agenda, plus we are going to make batch of Chili, the temps dropped enough that Michelle was just in the mood for a good batch of Chili and cornbread. No arguments from me. It is an awesome lazy cold Sunday afternoon kind of food.

I did receive word at work that my computer workstation will be upgraded here in the very near future. I've seen some of the new ones and they are, well kind of small. Not much bigger than a book to be honest with you, I just hope this thing has the ass that I need to properly run my Software but I don't see them taking a step back as far as Machines. I'm still a PC tower kind of guy, especially with all the peripherals I have.

Have yourselves a great day and enjoy yourself.

Saturday Morning Rambling

Here I sit on a quiet Saturday Morning, I'm up watching who knows what on the television and trying to collect my thoughts for the day.

Anyone interested in buying former coach Dana Holgorsen's house? It's up for sale for a mere $2,950,000. It's a beautiful home, I just don't think it would be something that fits my lifestyle, or my budget to tell you the truth.

I'm back out in the field today working for RTI, it's going to be a short day as I have a feeling they are going to send my sections out for cleanup in the near future. I hate to admit defeat, but I think I have generated as many interviews out of these two sections as I am going to generate. I'm just generating records of call and trying to find elusive or in some cases evasive people.

Michelle is working at the Vet this evening, but I'm pretty sure that we are both taking tomorrow off. I think I'm at the point where I will be taking at least one day off a week from the two jobs.  I was off on Super Bowl Sunday and it's just getting that time when we just about pack it in for the quarter and get ready for the next one.

Have yourselves a great day

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday and the start of another fun filled weekend.

I guess the big news for today, is that this is the day when a second one of my Siblings reaches the same age my Dad was when he passed  away. That is now three of us, Jonathan, myself and now Kim that have made it to that number of days in age before he left us. It really does bring it into perspective as to how short life really is.

My weekend plans, I'll probably be out working tomorrow doing some field work, or better known as trying to catch the illusive interviews at home and at a time suitable for them to complete the interview.

Anyone done their taxes yet? Any unpleasant surprises?

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic goes back to March of 1995, this was my Niece Amy's birthday party when Nick and Terri lived at Country Squire. I wish I could say that I knew more of the backstory to the picture, but I honestly don't recall. Amy and Brittany are in the front and my Dad and Terri are standing in the background.

There are sometimes you wish you could just go back to a moment in time to get more of a story about the image, this would definitely be one of those times.

Have yourselves a great day

Hump Day

Two days down, two more ahead of us. That means all we have to do is get up and over this noon time hump and it will be all downhill as we work towards another fun filled weekend.

There is actually a possibility that both Michelle and I will be home after work today, that doesn't happen very often other than Friday's and usually one day during the week. We'll both be home tomorrow, but today is a 50/50 day as I'm home and she may be. Yeah Us.

Do you believe that the start of the 2020 Presidential Election is less than one year from now? Yep we are within a year from the Iowa Caucus, which pretty much marks the official beginning of the Presidential Race. Wow has time just flown by, it seems like the 2018 election was just yesterday.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well my non-existent three day Holiday weekend is over with, now it is time for me to put my nose back on that grindstone to start another week in the Office. Good reason to do a tidbits.

* It has been 20,155 since I blessed this world with my existence, that is in fact a lot of days.

* It has been 5,378 days since I graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Geography, I was DC last week for an ESR Users Conference (what I went to school for) and had a great time.

* 3,979 days ago Michelle and I went out for dinner and a movie, we're still going strong all these days later.

* 3,203 days ago I got down on one knee and asked Michelle to be my wife. Luckiest day of my life, she said yes.

* It was 2,740 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I got ourselves hitched.

* I have now lived 366 days longer than my Dad did, he missed out on so much due to his early passing. My sister Kim will achieve that milestone on Friday of this week. Terri is up next on the Countdown.

* I have 4,669 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, like I said I love what I do.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 1,320 days away. Speaking of Football, tomorrow is National Letter of Intent Day, hopefully there will be a surprise or two in store for us.

* 362 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, we love Phil with his prediction this year.

* 329 more days to go until my Goodbye 2019 Blog is posted, where I relive the previous year through what was posted right here in my blog.

* There are 323 more shopping days left until Christmas 2019, you have plenty of time to plan and get ready.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 299 more days, this should be about my 35th Anniversary of it.

* There are 183 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eighth Wedding Anniversary together, seems like only yesterday.

* There are 43 days until the next start of my favorite season, SPRING. Phil just said it is just right around the corner, for some reason I have to believe him this year as I've already seen a few trees start to bud believe it or not.

* I have written 5,536 blogs in the 14 1/4+ years I have been writing my Blog. I find it amazing I have stuck with it this long.

* No Drone flights this weekend, it's still winter but I want to get out and fly a little more this coming Spring.

* French Creek Freddie Lies, he does not know Groundhog Meteorology like Phil does.

* After taking off from doing a tidbits last week, it's a little challenging to start the most time consuming post of the week again.

* Cheeseballs and Crackers make a great snack when you are in the middle of writing a long blog. Just saying...

* I wonder if I should start to do a countdown until the next WVU Football game now that football season is completely over with.

* Tomorrow is National Letter of Intent Day for College Football, it's where the rest of the verbal commitments are put on paper and made official.

* How can the Temps change so much in a short week. It was sub zero last week.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

New Streak Starting

Well my one day off and my one day weekend are now a thing of memories. Just like last nights Super Bowl it's just part of the past and now it is time to concentrate on the future. Now it's time to take our collective noses and stick them back on the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living.

I am out working again for RTI this evening and Michelle will also be at the Vets this evening, so this could be considered my long day for the week. It's the only day during the regular work week that I intend on being out, unless someone calls me or something changes, but I honestly don't see that changing.

Jim and Chris had an auction this past Saturday Night at the Church, they had a very good turn out and Jim sold a lot of tools. I showed for about an hour and a half of it and Michelle worked it to help them out with setup and the actual auction. Jim said he wanted to start doing more auctions again like he used to, so I'm sure you'll be hearing about one or two of them in the future.

Looking at my week ahead, I'm working tonight and tomorrow night I have a health coaching call with my insurance company. I have to obtain so many points throughout the year and I'm eligible to have reduction in my premiums. I'm already up over my minimum, now I'm just trying to rack up points to win a few prize drawings for gift cards that we have a drawing for.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I site in a quiet household, I have slept in and gotten up a little later than normal this morning. There is nothing playing on the TV behind me as I was streaming a movie earlier, but I'm still sitting here collecting my thoughts for the day.

Today is the advertisers dream, it is the Superbowl of advertising as we watch Super Bowl 53 this evening as the Los Angeles Rams take on the New England Patriots. This is actually a repeat of Super Bowl 36, or Tom Brady's first of what will be his record 9th Super Bowl that he has played in and the Patriots will try to tie the Steelers with 6 Lombardi Trophies.

Other than that, my streak is over. I worked 32 consecutive days and now I am going to take a day off for the first one since January 1st. My workload has greatly diminished, so I will have more free time than I have had for the next couple of months with RTI. I've still got work, but it is a matter of trying to chase people down and get elusive interviews completed.

Michelle and I are going to have to make some adjustments to our W-4's this year, I have already adjusted mine for RTI and my AECOM one is fine for the Fed. We got an unexpected eye opening yesterday when we did our taxes, and it just seemed to steamroll. We are going to owe a very significant chunk of change to both the Federal and the State. We did have our most productive year ever, a year that was a little eye opening as to how much we made, but that also means that you have to pay the piper and that we are going to have to do. I'm hoping there was just a problem with the tax code, but when I looked at how much we made and how much we paid since we have been married, it's simply we didn't pay enough in taxes.

Have yourselves a great day and enjoy the Super Bowl.

King Phil

Yes Phil has spoken, all my bribes must have paid off as Phil has predicted an early spring!!!!!!!

Woo Hoo no Ground Hog Stew Recipees this year old buddy. I'm pretty sure that the abundance of apples in the back yard that he ate over the summer and fall was more than enough payment to give me an early Spring!!!!!!

Now how do I reward myself with an early spring? I'm going to be taking my butt out into this cold weather working for RTI today, but I'll  do it with a big smile on my face knowing Phil delivered and tomorrow my consecutive days worked streak halts at 32 days.

Have a great day and All Hail Phil!!!!!!!!!

It's Groundhogs Day!!!!!

Today is the day our favorite little Groundhog, the most famous of famous Groundhogs, the Prognosticator of Prognosticators, the great and all knowing Phil steps up and lets us know what our weather is going to be like the next six weeks.

Could Phil see his shadow and we are subject to six more weeks of this blistery conditions like this Polar Vortex we have suffered through this week, or is my favorite season just right around the corner. Phil will let us know around 7:24 this morning from Gobblers Knob.

They usually have a live stream set up, but I don't think they have started the stream yet this year. I know it is usually all all night party to honor Phil complete with fireworks and all kinds of entertainment.

Don't let me down this year Phil.

I am actually back in the office today, I've got some paperwork to fill out for my expense report and turn it all in so I can get re-reimbursed for everything. I do have a company credit card, but they want the balance paid off every billing cycle which means get your expense reports in so you can pay it off. Had I taken my own car I could have made a couple hundred dollars just on mileage alone provided there were no Federal Vehicles available. There were so all I would have gotten back was basically gas money so I'm using their vehicles and their gas.

This is my 31st consecutive day of working and I'm planning on going out into the field this weekend. I think my consecutive days streak will end on Sunday, considering it is Superbowl Sunday.

Anyhow, I get to wake up tomorrow morning and pay attention to what is happening on Gobblers Knob. I know my old buddy Phil will be up all night partying tonight, hopefully we can get the little rodent so drunk that he is blind and can't see anything. =)

Have yourselves a great day.
