Trick or Treating

We made our yearly track to Jean's protect her home from all the ghosts, ghouls and goblins that tend to roam around East Gate once a year.

I managed to grab a few pictures that I put on my website and some of them up on Facebook of the evenings festivities.

It all started out at Michelle's Sisters house to help her Nephew celebrate his 30th birthday and then turned to handing out Candy to what I would guess would be around 400 trick or treaters we received this year.

We were ready this year, we had 600+ pieces of candy assembled that everyone purchased and may have had 150 left when the evening was over with (of course there was sampling going on and some costumes earned double candy).

Michelle was once again the candy hander outer, as she seems to really enjoy that role. This was her third year that she has volunteered to hand out tot goodies and treats to all the little kiddies.

Once the night was over, we came home to retire for the evening. Michelle has been under the weather most of the week and it was once again starting to catch up to her. So we came home and went to bed early.

Very Disappointed

After watching last nights game against UCONN, I have to say that I am really disappointed in the performance the team put forth last night.

I was driving home with Michelle and I heard an interview with one of the players, and I said to her we were going to lose. Something just isn't right with this team, and I think I heard it last night.

The Offensive line has to be one of the most horrendous that I have ever seen while being a fan of the Mountaineers. They were horrible last season and they got worse this season. Same group of guys, that were here last year, they just didn't seem to progress any.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

Looking for some football, well the High schools were showcased last night at the MoHawk Bowl. The Mohigans whooped the Pigeons 27-6, but like that is anything new, it seems to happen every year.

Tonight however belongs to the Gold and the Blue as the West Virginia Mountaineers will visit UCONN tonight to try to end their one game losing streak and try to get back on the winning track for the season. Hopefully Geno will be like the Geno of earlier in the season and not the Geno from last Saturday. Last season it was some late game heroics from Noel Devine that gave the Mountaineers the win.

Let's hurry up and get this day over with and get this party started.

Hi ho hi ho, one more time this week.

MoHawk Bowl

Once a year here in Morgantown West Virginia there is a High School Football game between two of the cities largest school. The Morgantown Mohigans and the university High Pigeons will do their yearly battle this evening on the gridiron. Now I'm not going to say that I am biased towards any Mohigan School, especially when they play the Pigeons, but I have a feeling Morgantown will once again prevail over University High.

Both teams have managed to get off to an 8-1 start on the year, the Mohigans were beaten by Steubenville Ohio and the Pigeons lost to the West Virginia School of the Blind, but it was a close game.

My prediction for the night will be continued Mohigan dominance over the Pigeons.

Hump Day

It's up over that hump and looking towards the weekend kind of a day. It's when you can put the first couple days of the week in the rear view mirror and look ahead.

I didn't know until yesterday, but my brother Gary had surgery on his ear yesterday. I guess his ex-girlfriend hit him up side the head with something and busted his ear drum and he had surgery to repair it yesterday. I heard about it after Trish text messaged me asking me if I was OK after reading a Facebook post by Val. It was nice to know someone cared, but it was the wrong Uncle who was having surgery.

I'll update everyone as I have updates as to his status and how he is doing. Personally I think he's having a hair transplant to stop hearing from me that he's going bald, but that's just my interpretation. =)

Oh well, hi ho hi ho

Tuesday's Tibdits

* It is once again Tuesday, my favorite day of the week to do a tidbits. So, here it does.

* It has been 956 wonderful days since I was blessed with having my first date with the love of my life.

* 179 days ago I asked her to Marry me and she said Yes.

* 60 Shopping days left until Christmas. Is it really coming back up upon us that quickly? Wow, yeah, we're a couple of months away now until the fat man in the red sleigh rides around giving toys to good little girls and boys.

* Coming home yesterday was murder. There was a big wreck up the road from our house and it just basically brought this side of town to gridlock. We ended going about 15 miles out of our way to travel a half a mile home.

* I have just remembered one of the best things to curb my appetite, Dill pickles. Low carbs, filling and fulfills that crunch factor.

* Happy belated birthday to Michelle's nephew Jon, I missed it in yesterdays blog.

* Hi Ho Hi Ho

Finally started doing our Pumpkins

I think we may be a little behind everyone else as far as getting their Halloween Pumpkins decorated. Michelle and I finished ours last night finally. We bought a couple for me Chad and Laiah, and another one for Hayley top do.

Chad and Laiah were doing a werewolf theme on theirs and I'm not quite sure what Hayley is going to do with hers.

It was a lot of fun, I enjoyed doing this last year and once again this year. This year however we broke out the dremel tool to assist us a little. There would have been an aweful lot of sawing had we not used it.

Looking forward to handing out candy again this season.

Sunday Morning

I'm siting here in a quiet living room. TV on in the background and a house full of sleeping people. I think even the mice would be sleeping if we had any.

Yesterday was a tough loss for the Mountaineer Football team. They played hard, but Syracuse just wanted it more than we did and we could not overcome their blitz and handed the Mountaineers a 14-19 loss for only the second loss of the season.

It was a tough one to watch as our usually poised, but young QB became a little rattled after throwing a few INT's in the first half.

Hopefully we can regroup and get ready to win Friday night against UCONN.

It's Homecoming

It's homecoming here at West Virginia University. The Mountaineers will be hosting the Syracuse Orangemen today at noon.

Not planning on attending, going to watch it on TV and get a few things done around the house.

You looking for some football tonight? The Morgantown Mohigans travel to John Marshall this evening and University hosts Preston. It'll be the last tune up game for these two teams before next weeks battle of the Titans MoHawk Bowl. Clay Battelle is home against Tygarts Valley.

College football, it's homecoming here in Morgantown for the West Virginia Mountaineers as they play host to the Syracuse Orangemen.

On Sunday the Steelers travel to Miami in Ben's second game back on the season.

Long day yesterday, so today will probably be a short one for me. So hi ho hi ho

Pittsburgh Bound

Woo Hoo, I am out of the office on travel again today, twice in one month!! Going back to Pittsburgh to the Westin Hotel for an ESRI Seminar all day. I enjoy the chance to get out of the office and travel, even though it is less frequent than it had been previously, but I'll take it.

Heading up with a few guys from work, so it should be a fun and educational day. ESRI always puts on a first class seminar, especially when in larger cities like this.

Hump Day

hey this week is just a rolling on a long, we'll be at another weekend before we even realize it.

We already have dinner cooking for this evening, we've got some good home made chilli in the crock pot slowly cooking all day long and Michelle is going to make some cast Iron Skillet Corn Bread to go along with it. We made a batch a couple of weeks ago and have been cooking with the crock pot one day of the week for the past few weeks. Last week it was home made beef stew.

Oh well, hi ho hi ho

Tuesdays Tidbits

* It's Tuesday, I can;t think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* For those of you keeping track, there are only 67 more shopping days left until Christmas.

* It's been 172 days since I proposed to Michelle.

* It's been 949 wonderful days since I had the pleasure of taking the love of my life out on our first date.

* I will once again be traveling to Pittsburgh for work this week. I'll be in the Burgh all day Thursday. Different location, I'll be across the river and into the heart of downtown and I'll be there for educational purposes rather than for a specific task at work. Either way, it'll be a day out of the office.

* Had a wonderful time last night with my Michelle. My boss was feeling a little bit under the weather and could not make it to the CAC to see Cirque Dreams Illumination, so he gave me his tickets and I spent a wonderful evening with Michelle seeing some of the worlds best acrobats. The look on Michelle's face was priceless.

* A heart felt thank you to my boss for the tickets. I've wanted to see them the previous couple of times that they came to down, I just never have.

* Hi ho hi ho

Back to it.

I guess all good things have to come to an end. It was a good and relaxing weekend, started with Mountaineer Madness on Friday evening, and ended with the Pittsburgh Steelers manhandling the Browns 28-10. James Harrison, who is one of the developers building where the old Chico dairy building was located, had a couple of knock out hits. He hit Josh Cribbs so hard that my guess is Cribbs hit the field unconscious, like a rag doll. It was a definite knockout.

Let's see, the Mountaineers won, the Mohigans won and the Steelers won. I'm looking good in fantasy football also for the weekend, but tonight's game still needs to be played before I can claim any victories.

Oh well, the fun is over with and reality is back. It's time to put the nose back on the grindstone again for the week.

Senior Homecoming Dance

Yesterday was Morgantown High's homecoming dance, Hayley and her best friend Angelina and their dates all stopped by for a few photo opportunities before they left for the evening.

She had found and ordered her dress earlier this week from California, surprisingly they had very quick shipping and she had it like the next day after she ordered it. I was actually quite impressed.

I thought she looked very beautiful yesterday, Michelle helped her do her hair before we took our photos and she left for the evening.

Happy Birthday Brittany Dae Cummings

I would like to take this special opportunity and wish my niece Brittany Dae Cummings a very Happy Birthday today. I don't know where the years have gone, it seems like jut yesterday I was sitting in the waiting room at Ruby Memorial and they were wheeling this tiny little bundle of joy out in the hallway.

So, if you happen to run into Brittany today, make sure that you wish this lovely little college sophomore the very happiest of birthdays.

Are you looking for a little High School Football? How about the game of the week this week. The #8 ranked Morgantown High Mohigans will avenge University High's loss last week as they play host to the #3 Brooke Bruins for homecoming tonight. Brook got the best of Morgantown last season, now the Mohigans are the Mohigans again and ready to hand the Bruins their second loss of the season.

University High will travel to John Marshall tonight and try to get back on the winning track and and Clay Battelle will play host to Cameron. Here is to all the local teams, may they all bring home victories tonight.

Speaking of Football, anyone catch the Mountaineers beat South Florida last night 20-6 on ESPN.

If you are looking for something to do tonight, tonight at 8:00 at The WVU Coliseum (gates open at 6:30) you can see the first Basketball practice of the year for the Mountaineer basketball team. Come out and see the first practice of the year and see the Final 4 banner hoisted into the air. Michelle and I go every year, let e know if you would like to meet us there.

Hi ho hi ho....

Game Day

Yes it is Thursday, but it is also game day here in good ole Morgantown West Virginia. Bill Stewart will lead his 25th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers onto the field against the University of South Florida in what should be a good game.

The Bulls, who have not been in the league for that long have had the Mountaineer's number in three of the last four seasons that we have played them. WVU's last win coming two years ago during the "White Out" that was Pat White's last game to play in Mountaineer Field.

However South Florida is coached this year by Skip Holtz, who when he was at East Carolina gave the Mountaineers their worst defeat of the Bill Stewart era. Former South Florida coach Jim Leavitt, though very successful, was fired this past off season for basically being an asshole.

Hi ho hi ho and Let's Go Mountaineers!!!!!

Hump Day

Well considering that this is hump day, this week has just been sailing on by. I guess having Monday off helped, plus the Mountaineers will be playing Football tomorrow night, so this work week is going to be quick.

I think Hayley has found her dress that she wants to wear this year for Homecoming. She's going to order it today and it'll be here before Saturday. I'll grab as many pictures as I can before she goes to the homecoming dance.

Michelle has dinner on the stove already, it's going to be a home made beef stew kind of a kinght for us. We prepared it last night and have one batch cooking in the crock pot right now and will remove it and put the larger batch on when we head our for work. The kids lover her beef stew.

Tuesdays Tidbits

* It's Tuesday, can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* Talked to Pam last night, Moke and Ang have arrived in Myrtle Beach for their honeymoon.

* 74 Shopping days left until Christmas.

* It's been 165 days since mine and Michelle's engagement.

* 942 days ago Michelle and I went out on our first date together, turned out to be the luckiest day of my life.

* After a nice relaxing four day weekend, I have to return to work today. I can't say that I haven't enjoyed myself. Has a couple relaxing days, went to a surprise Birthday party for a close friend and went to a wedding. I would say it was a full and eventful four days off for me.

* I wanted to stop and see President Clinton yesterday, but I ended up working on the car and was talking to my Sister Pam who stopped by for a visit and brought me some haluski!!!!

Columbus Day

I'm one of the fortunate people who have today off as a paid Federal Holiday. I'll see if I can make the most of it.

Went to Moke and Ang's wedding yesterday, it turned out to be very beautiful and a good time was had by all. I think I managed to snap 169 pictures throughout the day, some good some not even in focus, but you can view all the pictures that I took right HERE on my site. These are the full sized images, for those of you with Facebook, I also have them all uploaded to there in this Album.

For those of you interested, former President Bill Clinton will be in Morgantown and speaking at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheater this afternoon at 2:45 campaigning for Joe Manchin. This will be the former President Clinton's second visit in the past five months as he was here in May for the West Virginia University graduation.

Have a great day.

Wedding Day for Moke and Ang

It's 10-10-10 and that means that two very special people will be tying the knot today. Moke and Ang have dated for a number of years, they are long time, back to the time when they were even young High School Sweethearts.

They have been through trials and tribulations, they have lived in different states and even lived in different parts of the world as Moke was deployed to Iraq last year serving our country. They have been through a lot together, yet they have overcome any and all obstacles and today will officially tie the knot in matrimony.

I look back through my pictures as I am writing this blog and see and remember these two through the years and how they have always been synonymous with each other. Each becoming the person that defines them today, yet able to hold on to that love an innocence that we have all come to enjoy seeing from them.

I am very proud of Moke and I very honored today to witness the Union today and Mr and Mrs George and Angela McClain.

Football Saturday

It's a football day in Morgantown as the UNLV Rebels will be coming into town today for a 3:30 kickoff this afternoon. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 3, or channel 14 for those of you here in Morgantown. The Mountaineers return to action for the first time since the Loss to LSU two weeks ago and are ready for one final tune up before we enter into Big east Play Thursday night.

Michelle and I plan on watching the game here and then have plans for early in the evening, before we get ready for Moke and Ang's wedding tomorrow.

Have a GREAT DAY and Let's Go Mountaineers!!!!

For me however, I have started my weekend early and it's a four day one at that. Monday is Columbus Day which is a Federal Holiday, so I am off for that, plus I'm off for today because of a few long days this past week. So what is the end result, a nice relaxing four day weekend for me =)

Looking for some football? The big game in this town is when the #3 and Undefeated University High Hawks take on #7 Brooke at Home. The Mohigans will travel to North Marion to kick the dog snot out of Fraudrigeuz's alma mater  and the Cee Bee's of Clay Battelle will travel to Valley Whetzel to play.

Looking for college football? The Mountaineers are at home tomorrow to host UNLV at the Stadium in a final tune up before they enter into Big East play next Thursday night at home.

I hope everyone has a great day, I know I will.

Early Weekend

It has been a long week at work for me, and today is probably going to be my last one until next Tuesday, barring some emergency situation I have to handle. I'll have my weeks worth of billable hours in today and Friday will be all mine if all goes as planned.

Monday is a Federal Holiday (Columbus Day), and will mark two complete years at NETL (with SAIC and currently with Sextant). So, this means I am getting ready to embark on a four day holiday weekend.

The sad thing is that days are starting to get shorter and the temps are starting to get colder. I'm always a spring and summer kind of guy, Michelle loves fall which means we should extend these three seasons by a month and eliminate winter.

Let's get this party started, Hi ho hi ho.

Hump Day

Home after a long exhausting day yesterday, I am ready for a nice easy day. I think I have technically however crossed over the hump myself, the rest of the week should be a breeze for me. Friday even appears to be a shorter day for me if it exists at all and Monday is a Holiday for me.

Hayley after a nice couple of day break resumes with the final three nights of her play Sweeney Todd starting tonight. It ran last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The cast and crew were given a couple of days off Monday and Yesterday and all resumes tonight, tomorrow and finishing up its run with a Friday Night Finale.

Wedding plans this weekend as Moke and Ang are planning on tying the knot on Sunday.

Have a great day, hi ho hi ho

Going to be a Loooooong day

I head to work at my normal time today, but to say this is going to be a long one will be an understatement. it's going got be a tie wearing kind of day and it could also be a 15 or 16 hour day when it's all said in done.

I have meetings in Pittsburgh at 5:00 prepping for a 6:00 and then followed by a 7:00 that I have been told may run late also. Then I get to drive my happy but back to Morgantown after the meetings.

Everything is in Downtown Pittsburgh, but fortunately it's all in Station Square, so I wont have to cross the river and can stay out of the majority of traffic that is the downtown headache at Rush hour. We'll be at the Sheraton, which is the hotel at the foreground of the picture, so it'll be an easy in and an easy out for the city.

It's all about Carbon Sequestration, I could have sat there for all three days or go up tomorrow for a couple of hours for what I need to be there, for.

Monday, October 04, 2010

Monday

Why oh why do Mondays have to show their ugly faces each and every week? It's the one thing that seems to always screw up a perfectly good weekend.

I guess next weekend I wont hate Monday as much as it's a Federal Holiday and I'll be off work, but that is NEXT week and not THIS week. At hand now is this week and this weeks activities. I'm going to have a very busy and tiresome day tomorrow. After working and preparing a few demonstration posters, I'll be extending if not doubling my workday and going to Pittsburgh in the evening for a Carbon Sequestration Partnership meeting at Station Square. It will be a VERY long day.

Hayley should get a much deserved and much needed day off from Sweeney Todd today and tomorrow before finishing up its run the latter part of this week. I know she is having a lot of fun, but the tedious act of juggling that and school is starting to wear on her and she is in need of a little bit of a break.

Oh well, hi ho hi ho

Sweeney Todd

Last night Michelle, Chad, Jean, Kayla and myself ventured to the Met Theater to see the Morgantown Theater Companies production of the Play Sweeney Todd.

I have to say that it turned out way better than my expectations and this was very professionally done, I left the theater a few hours later just simply amazed. The entire cast and crew put on an absolutely flawless presentation. Maybe realizing last night that Morgantown has a lot of talented stage actors.

I managed to get as many pictures as I could last night and they are all available for viewing on my picture site for any and all who would like to experience last nights performance.

The play continues tonight, then takes a two day break and resumes Wed, Thursday and culminating next Friday evening.

I have to say that for the last month or so Hayley has been really busting her rear end to get ready for this production. I think all of us who were in attendance last night including her own Brother who's hat she managed to be able to steal during the play and her Mother were very proud of her last night. I've saved my program and my ticket, there is an area for autographs, maybe I'll ask her for one this morning and put that in the safe.

Have a great Day and GO STEELERS!!!

Saturday Morning Ramblings

I've been up a few hours, but kind of took a nice long nap on the couch this morning watching a few movies.

We're going to try to head up to Bridgeport this morning and hook Mick's internet up before coming home and attending Hayley's play this evening at the Metropolitan Theater this evening. I'm thinking the show starts at 7:00, but that was last nights show time. I'mm have to find out what time todays show is playing.

Looking for High School Football? The Morgantown High Mohigans will try to bounce back after last weeks beating by traveling to Preston tonight to play the Knights. The undefeated University High Hawks are at home against Fairmont Senior and Clay Battelle is idle this week as are the WVU Mountaineers.

The Buckwheat Festival is still going on in Preston County, make the trek up and get yourselves some good ole buckwheat cakes.

Once again Hayley is in the play Sweeney Todd that is playing at the Metropolitan Theater. Michelle and I will make it to see her sometime this weekend, if anyone would like to possibly go with us to watch her, please let us know.

For those of you interested, Rich's farm's Fright Farm has started for the 2010 season.

Hi ho hi ho
