Monday, Rinse, Repeat

Well the fun-filled thing that we refer to as the weekend is now over with, so it's time for everyone to get back to doing what it is that we all do for a living. Noses back onto the grindstone so we can all change the world with our talents.

This was a horrible weekend so to speak, there was no football that I was really interested in. The Steelers play tomorrow night and then have to start preparing for Washington on Sunday and WVU was off as well as Oklahoma did not travel due to COVID concerns. Talk about a ho-hum weekend.

No big plans for the upcoming week, other than watching the men's basketball team take on #1 Gonzaga on Wednesday and watching the Steelers tomorrow night if that game manages to get played. Other than that it looks to be a pretty uneventful week ahead. There is a full moon tonight, so there is that to look forward to...lol

I'm pretty sure that WVU is still doing all of their classes online this week as well as the Monongalia County Schools are also all cyber this week. I was talking to my niece Amy yesterday and something tells me that them having to transition to cyber could mean the end of snow days for Mon County Schools moving forward.

Have yourselves a great start to the week and a better day. Now go change the world with what you do.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit yet once again on a quiet Sunday morning, my co-author is nowhere to be found and I'm here trying to collect my thoughts for the day and write this blog all solo. I've got some movie playing in the background, don't ask me what as I'm not paying attention to it at all.

Yesterday was kind of a blah day all the way around, the biggest highlight of my day was a nice nap yesterday with the electric blanket that just took me away into a deep sleep to enjoy. I haphazardly watched some college football, but to be honest I wasn't involved with any of the games and had no concern as to their outcomes.

Today is probably going to be much of the same as there are really no NFL games that excite my interest. I know the Steelers are scheduled to play Tuesday, but now Baltimore has 18 players testing positive with COVID-19, and even the Denver Bronco's as so affected by this that all three of their Quarterbacks are out.

In High School, there will be no Super Six this year where State Championships are won, all the semi-final games pretty much ended with no games because the team's home counties were in the red because of COVID. St. Marys, Fairmont Senior, South Charleston have all been awarded their divisions State Championships respectively because their county was still able to play. Strange year to say the least.

Typical Dau for us, shopping, chores, and taking it easy. Michelle wants stuffed pork chops for dinner, so that is what we are doing for today.

Have yourselves a great day, relax and enjoy the day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, Peanut's running around doing something as I can hear the slight banging of her collar tags together as she quietly moves around the house. I'm sitting solo at my desk but you know she is going to want to get credit for co-authoring this blog. Then Movie Walk the Line is playing in the background.

It looks like it is going to be a no football weekend for this fan, the Mountaineers who were scheduled to play this afternoon against Oklahoma have had the game moved back two weeks due to a COVID outbreak there. The Mountaineers will travel to Iowa State next weekend.

The Pittsburgh Steelers who were supposed to play the Baltimore Raven's on Thursday Night, but their COVID outbreak first pushed the game to Sunday afternoon and now once again to Tuesday evening giving the Steelers a short week to prepare for Washington and they moved the Raven's next game to Monday afternoon. This is the second game that COVID has impacted for the Steelers this season, the Titans cost us our bye week when we were initially scheduled to play because they had to move that game as well.

The Mountaineers Men's and Women's Basketball teams have started their seasons off already, the women won yesterday in their first game and the men won the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic Championship by winning all three of their first games. Derek Culver was named the tournament MVP. The Men take on #1 ranked Gonzaga on Tuesday.

I hope everyone has a great day, may your day be filled with good thoughts and good people around you.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

I hope everyone had a good turkey day, we did as Hayley and Tyler came for dinner and we loaded them up with all of the leftovers to take home. Michelle did a great job of preparing a nice feast for everyone and we all suffered from Tryptophan overdose.

Today is what used to be the busiest shopping day of the year as it is Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving where the retailers offered the biggest discounts to lure shoppers into their stores. With COVID and online shopping taking off the past couple of years I'm not sure if this will be a black Friday as like we have seen in years past.

I hope everyone has a great day and the start of a super-fantastic weekend.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ images that I have either captured with a Camera, Scanned or just simply stolen off the internet. Little lost moments in time that I post up and relive tight here for everyone while I try to recall the moments around that image. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that image and sometimes it's a challenge, although one thing it always is is a whole lot of fun for me.

This week's pic goes all of the ways back to a time when COVID was not dictating anything, it was Thanksgiving Day last year and we were doing our traditional Cassville Firehall Thanksgiving Dinner. Hayley, Tyler, and Luke all came down and I managed to grab this picture of my lovely wife Michelle with the couple to be married next July.

Dinner was over with and I managed to grab this picture before we started cleaning up. It was one of those magical moments in time captured with a camera.

I hope everyone has a great, safe, fulfilling and blessed Thanksgiving.

Happy Birthday Valarie Nicholson

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my lovely Niece Valarie Nicholson a very Happy Birthday. She is someone who is always there in times of need for whoever needs it and is an amazing young woman with a lot of fight in her.

Not sure what anyone has planned for the day, but if I know Val she will have something on the agenda if it didn't already happen yesterday evening and into this morning if the opportunity is available.

Val is a remarkable young lady who is an inspiration to those around her whether she realizes it or not, her actions are seen by all and she is influencing the next generation whether this is her intention or not. Val is fighting the fight with MS.

If you happen to see Val today, make sure that you wish her a very Happy Birthday today in addition to overdosing on tryptophan.

Happy Birthday Val, you are an inspiration to all.

Thanksgiving Eve

It is the day before Thanksgiving, for the last 11 years that meant that Michelle and I would be heading to the Cassville Firehall to set up for the Big Thanksgiving dinner the next day, but with COVID dominating much of the story for 2020 that too has been sidelined this season. Hopefully it will return next year.

Michelle and I have a small turkey and will be starting to prepare for tomorrow sometime this afternoon. The turkey needs to be brined is the biggest thing that we need to do for tomorrow. Unlike years past where I was helping peel 50 lb bags of potatoes and a number of other prep things such as setting up tables and chair for the next day will be absent this year.

Tomorrow Hayley and Tyler will be coming in and enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with us, they don't have Luke this year so it will just be the two of them.

Michelle and I ran around yesterday doing a lot of last-minute shopping to prepare for tomorrow. We did see my sister Terri at Sam's Club, she was looking for a Turkey but that's not really something Sam's sells. At least not raw ones as they did have whole smoked turkey's, but that's not what she was looking for. She was heading to Walmart when we ran into her.

Tomorrow evening COVID permitting, we are going to try going bowling with my family. Gone are the days of Black Friday Shopping as I think it pretty much ran its course. People mostly shop online anymore, and stores were just pushing back their times to the point where families were not able to enjoy Thanksgiving together, and it just became a big burden on anyone who had anyone work in retail or the restaurant business.

Have a great day today, and have a very special day tomorrow.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday completed and in our rearview, that means that it is Tuesday and time for tidbits. I hope all hunters made it home safe and bagged their trophies.

* It has been 20,820 days since I was born, I'm thankful for each and every one of them.

* It has been 6,036 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. A midlife choice that I would do again.

* 4,637 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, the Pizza Hut we went to is not closed.

* 3,861 days ago I proposed to Michelle, 4:00 in the morning in the back yard. Best decision I have ever made.

* It was 3,398 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I became husband and wife and then feasted with all of our guests.

* I have now lived 1,024 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* I have 4,081 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 645 days away. Beat some Panther Butt.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 372 more days.No birthday this year due to COVID, so in college football terms I'm redshirting this year.

* There are 255 days until Michelle and I head to Pittsburgh to see Reba in concert. It was postponed this March to July and now they are pushing the tour until next year. It'll be mine and Michelle's 10th wedding anniversary.

* There are 255 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Tenth  Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* There are only 116 days until the start Spring 2021!!!!! Kiwi can't wait.

* 70 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day. I haven't seen my friend for a couple of weeks, I wonder if he moved.

* 37 more days to go until my Goodbye 2020 Blog is posted, this should be an interesting one. I should start formatting that soon. With the new backend, it may take me a little longer than usual.

* There are 31 more shopping days left until Christmas 2020.

* I have written 6,224 blogs in the now 16+ years since I started blogging.

* No Drone flights this weekend, but that has pretty much been my recurring theme this year with that. I have yet to fly this year.

* Something tells me that there will be more drone flights in 2021 than there were in 2020 and it may even have a collaboration effort involved.

* I have been updating a number of family graves on Find A Grave in the past couple of weeks. I feel it is my contribution to the next generation to answer questions about people they didn't know.

* We're going to start to brine our Turkey tomorrow, we're doing Thanksgiving at home with just Michelle and myself this season. It is our redshirt year you know.

* I think my family is still planning on bowling this year on Thanksgiving night if it is open. Masks are mandatory. So far everything is still a go.

* The Pittsburgh Steelers at 10-0 are the only undefeated team left in the NFL. Ravens will be in Pittsburgh Thursday Night.

* Corona Virus, you can still track it as it is now starting to pick up steam and the numbers are increasing.

* We're now Yellow for COVID for Monongalia County, track the state stats HERE

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

First Day of Hunting Season

Well the fun-filled thing that we refer to as the weekend is now over with, so it's time for everyone to get back to doing what it is that we all do for a living. Noses back onto the grindstone so we can all change the world with our talents.

Today in West Virginia could almost be called an unofficial holiday in this state, it is the first day of buck season, a two-week window when hunters can use their guns and seek their trophies in the woods of West Virginia. Please say an extra prayer for the safety of the hunters out in the woods today, let's all hope that they most importantly return home to their loved ones safe and secondly with that coveted trophy. There are a number of family members and friends that will all be out in the woods today.

I know Michelle has about seven deer that she has been feeding all summer long, there are a couple of bucks in the group that come and pay us daily visits including a button buck who is getting braver and braver coming to the door. All of those deer should be safe as they reside in a non-hunted area that's just too close to houses to take a shot at.

I hope everyone has a good and safe day out in the woods and some hunters even get a nice trophy.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit yet once again on a quiet Sunday morning, my co-author I think is sleeping in Michelle's chair and I'm here collecting my thoughts for the day with the TV playing something on HBO behind me. Just waking up and still a little groggy, so let's see how this goes.

Michelle went to JT's first birthday yesterday which looks like it was a big success. I stayed home as to not make it too crowded over there dues to COVID and half-heartedly watched some college football that I didn't pay attention to.

Today we will be finishing planning out our meals for the week including Thanksgiving. We have a smaller turkey back in one of the freezers that we will need to start to let thaw in the next day or so. There is no big Thanksgiving get-together at the Firehall this year, someplace I have spent every Thanksgiving since 2008, and Michelle and I were just dating. COVID has put a real damper on 2020 and this is just another kink in the chain.

Probably going to watch a  little NFL football this afternoon, the Steelers play at 1:00 today and then play again Thanksgiving night. That'll be 2 games over the next 5 days and another short and tough stretch.

Have yourselves a great day, make it a special one.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit still half asleep and co-authorless on a quiet Saturday morning. I have no idea where Peanut is this morning, but I'm out here watching Mrs. Doubtfire on HBO and wiping the sleep from my eyes.

The big event for the day is going to be JT's first birthday party over at Amanda and Joey's. Not sure how big of an event it is going to be, but we were invited and that is going to be the highlight of our day that we can foresee.

The Mountaineers are off this weekend in preparation for next week's game against Oklahoma. There are going to be a number of games canceled today because of COVID (I think 13) and possibly even the West Virginia State Playoffs may see a forfeit or two today based on the states COVID map put out by The West Virginia Department of Education, some Red counties will have to be downgraded by 10:00 this morning for their games to be played or risk forfeits. It's getting worse.

Congratulation goes out to my Brother-in-Law Robert, earlier this week he had a lifetime achievement in the sport that he loves. Robert is a Bowler and loves to bowl, he's had at least 2 perfect games in his career, but Thursday night he rolled the elusive 800 series. He rolled a 268, a near-perfect 299, and a 233 to complete the 800 series. A very rare feat for any bowler and one that gets recognized nationally just like a perfect game. Just like a 300 game ring, he gets a ring for an 800 series.

I hope everyone has a great day today, make the best of it and stay safe and wear your masks.

Are you looking for a little bit of High School Football? So am I but all four Monongalia County teams are done for the season as they enter the state quarterfinals. University made it and lost, Morgantown, Clay Battelle and Trinity all failed to qualify for the post season in this COVID infected season. Hopefully they can crown some state Champions before this pandemic takes over once again.

Looking for some college football? Well WVU is off this week as we prepare for Oklahoma who will be coming into town next week for the regular season's home finale. The Mountaineers will head out the following weekend to play Iowa State in Iowa, but next weeks game is the final one at home where we (may) say goodbye to the Seniors who decide not to take advantage of the NCAA's COVID rules for this season and have the ability to return next year.

I hope everyone has a great day and a great start to the weekend.

This weeks pic is from a couple of years ago, I was literally leaving Las Vegas, I was on my plane taking off in the early morning hours and I snapped this picture leaving the airport. Off to the left was the Las Vegas Strip, so you can see exactly how close it is in proximity to everything.

It was about a 5 hour flight back home and the clock was working against me as I would be flying across 3 time zones. It was 6:00 AM Las Vegas Time by 9:00 AM Morgantown time. The trip was a lot of fun, even though I was there for work and to give a presentation on 3M Marker Balls and using them to locate utilities.

Someday I would like to return.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

Well, that fun-filled thing we call the weekend is now behind us, time to stick the collective noses back onto that grindstone so everyone can get back to doing what everyone does for a living.

Michelle is heading back home to Ohio this morning, they are going out and cleaning out her Dad's Golf Shop. There are a bunch of her Dad's friends that are going to come over to assist, plus Jim and Chris are going up with their trailer, so I'll stay here and hold down the fort. I have a phone call this morning I have to take.

Talk about a good football weekend, the Mountaineers won on Saturday against TCU and the Pittsburgh Steelers ran their record to 9-0 for the first time in the history of their storied franchise with a 36-10 win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

I hope everyone has a great day today, keep your fingers crossed.

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, no idea where my co-author is this morning and I'm up collecting my thoughts for the day. Peanut is nowhere to be found and I've got Cider House Rules playing on the TV behind me.

Our day is going to start off with our typical Sunday morning shopping for the week at Krogers (now I hear Peanut) and coming home and doing a few chores. Our typical Sunday so to speak.

Later this morning Michelle is going to take her office equipment up to Cannonsburg and drop it off and have lunch with one of her former co-workers Stacy. They haven't really had much of a chance to speak since what happened last week, so it'll be time for them to sit and relax a little and talk.

I have to say the Mountaineers kind of surprised me yesterday, they had a pretty good game in defeating TCU 24-6 here in Morgantown. I have to say I was a little skeptical prior to the game about our chances, but this team was ready to play and they are getting a little more consistent. Leddie Brown himself has already rushed for more yards this year than we did as a team last year.

I hope everyone has a very special day.

RIP Dave Carpenter

It is with much sadness today that I have to report some very bad news. Michelle's Dad Dave Carpenter has passed away Thursday evening. Dave had cancer and decided to live his life to the fullest rather than tell anyone about it or seek treatment. He even worked on Wednesday at his golf shop and was planning on shutting it down for good on Sunday.

Michelle was by his side when he passed and her two sisters were there as well in his final moments. Michelle was holding his hand as he left this life for another.

Dave was a golfer, I swear he played 365 days a year and even had an indoor driving range and a putting green in his office at one time believe it or not. When I say he was a golfer, I'm talking about someone who could consistently do the very rare feat of shooting his age over 18 holes. I remember last summer Michelle and I were at Hovatters Zoo and he called her to tell her that he had shot 2 below his age (a 4 below par 68 on a par 72 course) and was very proud of that fact.

Michelle used to get daily updates from her Dad or his best friend Quinny about who beat who on their nightly battle on the golf course and would love to make fun of each other in brotherly bickering back and forth. It was Quinny who alerted Michelle as to the severity of Dave's condition causing her to go up on Wednesday morning.

Anyone who ever met Dave liked him, he just had a very likable personality.

Fave leaves behind his wife Karen and three very loving daughters that were with him until the very end.

The plan is to have him cremated and give some of the ashes to all of the girls and have the rest spread over the golf course where he spent so much of his time.

You are loved and will be missed.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday the 13th.

Are you looking for a little bit of High School Football this evening? So is everyone else. Morgantown High who I thought were going to get in, didn't. University High who I said needed to win last week to have a shot at getting in did and got in. They are the only Monongalia County team to make the postseason this year. They do not play tonight, they will travel to Musselman and play them there tomorrow afternoon. Clay Battelle and Trinity both had .500 or better seasons, as did all 4 Mononongalia County teams. Clay Battelle ended the year 3-2 and the other three schools were all 3-3 in this crazy COVID year.

The Mountaineers are at home tomorrow and take on TCU at Noon. The Mountaineers are 3 point favorites in the game but don't discount TCU as they are a pretty good team and a very well-coached team. Both of us have beaten an opponent that has beaten the other team so far this season, so it's kind of hard to get a handle on what may happen.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic goes back around 20 years, I had went to the Black Hills in South Dakota to spot my boss at the time as he was going to run a 100 mile ultramarathon. Loved it out there, we stayed in Deadwood for a night, saw Mt Rushmore and went to Custer State Park where many western movies have been filmed through the years.

This pic was taken as we had just left Custer State Park and were heading towards the Chief Sitting Bull Sculpture as we ran across these rams out in the wild. I've seen them in zoos and contained areas, but rams are just not something that we have running around in the wild in West Virginia, so I grabbed this little moment in time to capture it.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that does in fact include those fun-filled things that we refer to as weekends. It's time to take your collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone for another fun-filled week of doing what you do for a living.

Nothing on my agenda for the upcoming week, my big excitement over the weekend (other than the Presidential race finally being called) was cutting the grass yesterday and taking the window air conditioner out for the season. We pulled that out yesterday and stuck it in the garage for the winter or however long. That'll eliminate any cool draft that may come onto Kiwi, who has had three days in a row outside enjoying the warm weather.

A little bit of sad news yesterday, Alec Trebek the long time host of Jeopardy, passed away yesterday. It was announced last year that he had pancreatic cancer and chose to fight it and keep on working. Pancreatic cancer is a very ugly disease and has taken just too many good people.

I hope everyone has a great day, temps are going to be in the upper 70's both today and tomorrow, so get out and enjoy the nice weather we have while it's still here.

Sunday

Here I sit on a quiet Sunday morning, I'm up watching re-reruns of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions and collecting my thoughts for the day. Peanut is still snuggling up with Michelle and staying snug as a bug in a rug.

Yesterday just before noon we found out that the 2020 Presidential Election had determined a winner. Joe Biden had Pennsylvania called giving him 273 Electoral votes and enough to become the President-Elect to be the 46th President of the United States. Even bigger is that 100 years after the 19th Amendment was ratified giving women the right to vote, Kamala Harris became the first woman to be a part of the winning Presidential Ticket as Joe Biden's Vice President. It was a historic night of speeches.

On to football, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be on the road for the third consecutive week, the longest and toughest road test of the season, to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers will be attempting to run their unblemished record one more game to start this season. Games at 4:25 this afternoon and Michelle and I will be tuning in.

I hope everyone has a great day today, make it a special one.

Saturday Morning Rambling

Here I sit once again on a quiet Saturday Morning, Peanut and I are in a deep conversation about Quantum Physics and the Presidential Election. She is such an educated and deep thinking feline. I'm here watching CNN (still) to see if the Presidential Election has been called yet which it has not.

The WVU Football team takes on the University of Texas early this afternoon at Noon. The game is on ABC and should be accessible to everyone. Despite playing our best game of the Neal Brown era last week, I look for Texas to be too much for our hometown Mountaineers. My heart is with them, but we are still building and I'm not quite sure we are ready to head to Texas and upset them in their house this time around.

What's on mine and Michelle's agenda, a trip to Rural King is in the plans for this morning. Michelle needs bird and deer feed for her little outdoor friends who still stop by on a daily basis. It was actually nice enough yesterday that Kiwi was given a few hours outside. Today may be a similar situation as it is calling for the temps to be in the 70° range by kickoff this morning.

Have yourselves a great day and enjoy the weather. Let's Go Mountaineers.

Are you looking for a little bit of High School Football this evening? Well I will say this is the time of year that those of us locals who like High School Football look forward to, it's Friday Night. Tonight the Mighty and rejuvenated Mohigans play host to the Bridgeport Indians. University High travels to Oak Hill in what could be the end of their season if they don't win. Clay Battelle is at home to take on Wirt County and Trinity travels to Wahama. This will be the last regular-season scheduled games this season unless they try to do a few makeups next week, but I'm thinking the playoffs begin next week.

The Mountaineers play tomorrow at noon when they travel to the big boy's house, the Mountaineers will be visiting the University of Texas for a noontime game that is scheduled to be on ABC. Texas is ranked #22 and despite the Mountaineers playing the best game of the Neal Brown era last week, Texas is a 6.5 point favorite and I'm just hoping we can make it respectable.

Nicer weather today and this weekend, might get some Meowtside time for Peanut and Kiwi. I think we are going to try to cut grass one more time this year and it'll be this weekend.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic is one that really makes you think, it was from Halloween just 8 short years ago and a picture of Jean and Sherri. Seems like it was just yesterday when these two lovely young ladies were there for this pic.

A couple of years later Jean was gone and a last year around this time Sheri had also left us, so both of these young women are now entrenched into our thoughts and memories.

Have yourself a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* It's Election Day, that one day every four years when we go out and vote for who will be leading us as locally, statewide and, nationally the next four years. Great time for a Tidbits.

* It has been 20,799 days since I first entered this world as we know it. I've enjoyed them all to some extent to this point.

* It has been 6,015 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. I also have two minors, one in Communications and one in History.

* 4,616 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, seems like just yesterday.

* 3,840 days ago I proposed to Michelle, 4:00 in the morning in the back yard. Best decision I have ever made.

* It was 3,377 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I became husband and wife and then feasted with all of our guests.

* I have now lived 1,003 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* I have 4,102 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 667 days away. Beat some Panther Butt.

* There are 276 days until Michelle and I head to Pittsburgh to see Reba in concert. It was postponed this March to July and now they are pushing the tour until next year. It'll be mine and Michelle's 10th wedding anniversary.

* There are 276 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Tenth  Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* There are only 137 days until the start Spring 2021!!!!! Kiwi will appreciate it as the weather is starting to cool down.

* 91 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day. He's been getting fat all summer from Michelle putting corn on the bench all summer, now he is making himself a little more scarce.

* 58 more days to go until my Goodbye 2020 Blog is posted, this should be an interesting one.

* There are 53 more shopping days left until Christmas 2020.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 28 more days.

* I have written 6,203 blogs in the now 16+ years since I started blogging.

* No Drone flights this weekend, but that has pretty much been my recurring theme this year with that. I have yet to fly this year.

* It's election day, get out and vote.

* Early voting is seeing a lot of people show up to the polls and vote, in record numbers for early voters and at press time we have had over 96 Million people already vote.

* My Mom says she is going to work the polls this election, not sure if she is just working election day or any of the early voting days.

* George's Journal Officially voted for Joe Biden for President. Ben Salongo for Governor, let the US Senate race blank, I hate one candidate and don't know a thing about the other. David McKinley also got my vote for the House.

* The Pittsburgh Steelers at 7-0 are the only undefeated team left in the NFL. Bring on the Cowboys.

* Corona Virus, you can still track it but it's losing it's steam a little.

* We're now Green for COVID for Monongalia County, track the state stats HERE. That means High School Football this weekend.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day, go exercise your voice today and vote.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that does include those fun-filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is once again time to stick our collective noses back onto the grindstone yet once again and get back to doing what everyone does for a living.

It's election day eve, a day before election day 2020 when we will all go to the polls (if you haven't already been there) and cast your ballot for the National, State, and Local Elections. Michelle and I voted the week before last and to date, there have been over 93 Million People who have already voted early. Those numbers alone account for a 61% Voter turnout even before election day, this could very well be the most voted in an election in US election history. We're about 43 Million voters short of the 2016 vote totals going into election day.

It was a really good football weekend for me. Morgantown High beat University High Friday Night to win the MoHawk Bowl, WVU handily beat Kansas State Saturday and yesterday the Pittsburgh Steelers went into Baltimore and walked out 7-0 on the season.

Nothing on either mine or Michelle's schedule for this week, play with Peanut, pick Kiwi's rings up a couple of hundred times, the same things we have been doing. Maybe something will change in the near future one way or the other.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit on a quiet Sunday Morning yet once again, my co-author is off hiding somewhere and I'm out here flying solo once again. Not sure what is on the boob tube behind me as I'm not paying attention to it anyway.

Big game today in the NFL and you can throw out the records for this one as these two teams are what hard-nosed football is all about. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be visiting the Baltimore Ravens today at 1:00. The two teams are a combined 11-1 on the season and this should be a very good game. I hate to say it, this might be the Steelers' first loss of the season but we shall see, that's why they play the game.

The Mountaineers played arguably what is the best game of the Neal Brown era yesterday when they defeated 16th ranked Kansas State 37-10 in a game that went our was pretty much all afternoon long. Our defense just played lights out and the offense finally worked in unison and was very effective. It was a great day to be a Mountaineer.

Mine and Michelle's plans for the day, grocery shopping this morning, and then coming home and doing what we do to start every week.

I hope you set your clocks back an hour last night, if you didn't you're going to be an hour early getting to where you are going.

Have a great day today and Go Steelers.
