It's Game Day

It;s gameday here in Morgantown, it's the start of the 2013 WVU Football season as the West Virginia Mountaineers will be taking on William an Mary at Noon.

The game will be broadcast on FoxSports1, the old speed channel that was converted over to compete with ESPN and their dominance of the market. Which for the Morgantown area Comcast subscribers is Channel 30 on your Television.

As of right now, we still do not know who will be WVU's starting QB, the man taking over for Geno Smith. There are co leaders with Paul Millard and Florida State transfer and Morgantown native Clint Trickett. I've heard rumors of a dual QB system and a third one with Ford Childress waiting in the wings.

The gates are now open and the kickoff is at noon. Not sure of our plans we were talking about going down to Nick and Terri's, but Michelle is suffering from Plantar Fasciitis, which is going to require her to have surgery the day after we get back from vacation. She went to the Doctor yesterday as it was starting to get real bad, to get a shot of cortisone for a little relief, but she was in a whole lot of pain last night. So she will have surgery on one foot the day after we get back from our cruise. This may cause us to stay home to watch the game.

My wonderful niece Amy had a couple tickets to the game, and has given them to Hayley and Jared so that they can go.

Have a great day and LET'S GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend, and a Big Ole Hairy Friday and a three day holiday weekend.

Looking for a little High School Football around Morgantown? Well tonight is the start of the High School Football season and the Morgantown High Mohigans will play host to the Brooke Bruins at Pony Lewis Field. The University High Hawks will open their season tonight when they travel to Lewis County and Clay Battelle will open their season with a trip to Paden City.

Here is wishing all the the High School teams a good, safe and competitive season. It's been a few years since I have seen the Mohignas play, but that may change this season now that Arron has graduated and is no longer playing for University High.

Have a good and safe holiday weekend as we unofficially say goodbye to the end of our Summer that never really happened here this year.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all the old pictures that I have stored on my computer or sticking around on the internet someplace. Little lost moments of time that were captured and stored so I could look at them at another time and relive them. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task, and sometimes it's not so easy, it is however always a whole lot of fun.

Since I am pre-writing many of my Vacation Blogs this week, I decided to relive one of those moments. This is a picture that I captured of my lovely wife Michelle at Margaritaville in Grand Turk last year. We had never been to one and there was one at our first port of call so we tried it.

This is a picture of my wife Michelle sucking down a very potent Margarita as we were waiting on our food. We had a couple Cheeseburgers in Paradise and the best calamari that I have ever had, of course we are in the Caribbean so it stands to reason.

We still have those glasses as they were souvenirs, they are sitting in our living room living it up with my mechanical parrot that talks and sings "Hot Hot Hot".

Have a great day.

Uh Oh

Guess what day it is. Guess what day it is. Hump Dayyyyyyyyyy!!!Woot Woot!

I love the commercial and I don't think it will ever get old, especially on Wednesdays. You all know Wednesday, that's the day you look up over the noon time hump and off in the distance, just on the other side of a Photo Flashback, you can see the dawn of another weekend off in the distance.

As we get closer and closer to our cruise, I'm really starting to want it to hurry up a little bit and get here. I've watched everyone else take a summer vacation, now it's my turn to take one. I'm more than ready to get out on the ocean for a week.

I downloaded a kindle on my computer yesterday, I bought the Kindle version of the 2014 Farmer's Almanac and installed a Kindle reader on my computer. I have one on my work computer and my iPhone, so I thought I would get one for my home PC. Michelle has one she reads in bed and we have one that we're giving to Hayley who used to read a whole lot. I have a few other books that I have bought through the years, it's just nice to be able to access them all and have them all sync together.

Happy Birthday Ruth "Gigi" Wynn

I would like to send a very hearty West Virginia to Ohio Happy Birthday for Gigi today. She is celebrating her 92nd birthday today.

Happy Birthday Gigi, I hope all your dreams and wishes come true.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is once again in our rear view mirrors and we are staring straight down the barrel of a Tuesday. Still can't think of any better reason than that to don a tidbits.

* It has been 1,992 fun filled days since I went out on my first date with Michelle. The movie was 10,000 BC and it stunk up the theater, but it was worth the sacrifice to be with the company I was with.

* 1,215 days ago at about 4:00 in the morning, I got down on one knee and proposed marriage to Michelle.

* We are in day 752 of Marital bliss.

* I have 344 days to go until my third Wedding Anniversary.

* 126 more days to go until Christmas eve and my final blog of 2013.

* There are but 120 more shopping days left until Christmas.

* 96 days until I celebrate the 29th Anniversary of my 21st Birthday. For you non math people, that means I'll turn 29.

* 12 days away from, just a simple 12 more days and we will be heading to the Caribbean again. I can't wait and this vacation which was planned long ago, is long overdue.

* 4 days away from the start of the Mountaineer Football season.

* This is my 3,354th blog post. Next September I will celebrate my 10th Anniversary as a blogger. If all works out, I'll be in Grand Turk on that day.

* I'm not a peach eater, but I bought a half a bushel at work yesterday. Someone went to Romney and brought a whole mess of them back. I think Michelle plans on freezing them.

* Hayley and Jared will be heading to Burgettestown Thursday evening to see Mumford and Sons.

* Michelle will be heading to Jackie's House this Thursday for a Thirty One Party that she will be throwing.

* We will be on Steelers Trivia this weekend, this will be the second semi-final round and we dominated this round to advance to the finals. I can't tell you if we won or not, you'll just have to tune in to watch us completely lay down our buzzers for the final round (Literally).

* There is a very detailed film documentary of Morgantown called the History of Morgantown. Marc Debiase did the entire project and I finally got a chance to sit down and watch a good bit of it, It was very well done and very informative. Marc and I graduated High School together and he grew up in Westover.

Back To Work

All good things must come to an end, and that includes those fun filled weekends that we love so much. It's time to stick our noses back on the grindstone for another week and get back to doing what it is we do that allows us to do the things we like to do on the weekends. It's Monday and it's time to get back at it for another workweek.

This will be my last Monday working until September 23. Next weekend is a holiday, thew following Monday I will be out in the Atlantic Ocean and the Monday when we get back will be spent shopping and doing laundry from our vacation. So this Monday has a little more meaning for me today.

We have been saving egg cartons for Michelle's niece since Thanksgiving fore the chickens that we thought she had, we found out yesterday she no longer has the chickens. Anyone need about 30 empty 18 packs of egglands best eggs? We don't need them and we were saving them for use, now they are no longer needed. Could be used for a multitude of things including kids crafts. If anyone wants them, please let me know and they are yours.

Sunday Sunday

Once again I am up early and I am the only one on the household who has recovered from a losing battle with that dreaded Sandman. He got me later last night than usual, I watched the Steelers game, but I'm still up around the same time as I usually am. Some movie is playing in the background and I have no idea what it is.

Yesterday was a very productive day. We (mostly Michelle) did an intensive cleaning which included shampooing the carpets here. We usually do it about 2-3 times a year, but this was the first real good opportunity we had to do them since we bought the rug doctor earlier this summer. We've been running or recovering all Summer and we'll be leaving on vacation in a couple of weeks, so this was our last opportunity of the Summer to do them. Hayley and Jared cleaned up and organized the back bedroom, I steamed the kitchen counters and did a lot of the dusting but Michelle was the here of this cleaning.

Nick, Gerald and I moved a lot of Mom and Gerald's stuff including most of their books and that entire huge storage cubby hole cleaned out and moved to storage. Between Nick's truck, my Subaru and Gerald's car, it only took us a couple of trips and we managed to get a good bit of the insignificant stuff moved. I'll be on my cruise when they move, so Nick will need as much help as he can possibly get.

Speaking of today, Nick said he's taking the day off and taking the Harley out to take a ride to Romney today. Michelle and I will be going to her sisters this afternoon for a cookout since many people from her family are down for the weekend.

Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the only one who has recovered from the losing battle with the sandman from last night and am up early watching Man on the Moon on Netflix. I've always been an early morning person as long as I can remember.

Big game last night for Sand Diego Padres second baseman and Morgantown native Jedd Gyrko, as he went 3 for 4 and drove in 4 runs off of two Home Runs. That's 16 on the year for Jedd and he now seems recovered from the mid season injury and is tearing it up.

I checked up on Josh Judy and he hasn't pitched since last week. He was tearing it up earlier in the year and was killing them in AAA when he first went back up, but he's been struggling as of late and is currently back in AA. Have no fear he'll get it worked out and will make his return to the majors before it is all over with.

This is the last weekend for a while when there will be no football. Both High School and College Football start here in Morgantown next weekend. That and the Pittsburgh Pirates are going to make this a pretty interesting fall.

Have a great day, we'll be shampooing carpets and I'll be helping my Mom move a bunch of things to storage this afternoon.

Happy Birthday George "Moke" McClain

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Nephew George McClain, aka Mokie to all of us who know and love him the most, a very Happy birthday today.

If my math is right, he should be about 25 years old today and unfortunately I think my math is right and I am getting just plain old.

Not sure what Moke has in store for today, but I know his lovely wife Ang probably has something in store for him.

Happy Birthday Moke, it has been my pleasure watching you grow up into the man that you are today.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend, and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

I swear this has to have been the wettest Summer that I have ever seen for Morgantown West Virginia. I'm not sure what the record is for rainfall or what this Summers rainfall total is, but if this Summer doesn't break the record I would be very surprised to say the very least.

If you are looking for something fun and exciting to do around Morgantown today, the WVU Men's Soccer team plays an exhibition this afternoon at 4:00 at the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

If anyone has some free time tomorrow, my brother in law Nick and I could use all the help we can get to help my Mom and Gerald do the first phase of their move. Moving a lot of books and things to storage is all that we will be doing, but the more the merrier is how we see it. Hopefully between me and Nick we can do this is a couple of trips between the two vehicles. Any help we can get would be greatly appreciated.

I need to start pre-writing all by Blogs for when we go on vacation in a couple of weeks. Internet connections are hard to come by in the Atlantic Ocean.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all of the pictures that I have taken, scanned or had developed into digital format on my computer and select just one. One lost moment in time that was forever captured and stored for me to look at as I get older. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task finding that one lost moment and sometimes it's not so easy, it is always however a whole lot of fun.

This weeks picture goes out to my Wassilla Alaska cousin Linda. I woke up yesterday morning and found out some pretty shocking news about this lovely lady. She has recently developed some very serious health issues, one that required a pretty in depth surgery yesterday morning. It was one that I could never imagine and one that didn't go completely as expected from my understanding. She is currently recovering waiting to hear what the next option may be. My Mom tried to call me so that I could call her before she went in for surgery, but it was to no avail and I found out about everything yesterday morning.

Linda is the only one of my Alaskan cousins that I have ever met, when  her and her Mom made a trip to West Virginia some 20 years ago for a visit. I really liked Linda, I think the world of her and yesterday's news hot me a little funny.

I wish Linda a speedy recovery and my thoughts are with her and her family.

Hurry back Cuz, we haven't enough time talking yet.

Hump Day

Guess what day it is. Come on you there reading this I know you know what day it is. Yes it is HUMP DAY!!!!! Woot Woot!!!!

OK, we've made it through a couple of days so far this week, now it's time to get up over that noon time hump and look off in the horizon at the dawn of another fun filled (and moving and carpet scrubbing) weekend for us.

Chad had his first classes at Fairmont State yesterday and Jared started his classes at Piedmont, I guess that means school is back in full swing for those around us. Laiah is also attending Fairmont State this semester, so there are a few of them attending this semester.

I got my first taste of traffic here at 4:00 when I went and picked up Hayley after work yesterday, Van Voorhis Road was a five lane mess where people were stuck in the middle of intersections making everything that much worse. I overheard a woman in another car sitting in traffic say "why aren't we moving" to which I thought to myself "welcome to the Morgantown Rush hour headache." It was absolutely ridiculous. The area in which I grew up in was nothing like this mess.

At least there isn't much traffic this morning, so with that thought in mind...

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well that dreaded Monday is once again behind us, good thing because I have one more to work before I'm off to the Caribbean, can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* 1,985 days go (how many of you are still counting from your first date) I had my first date with the woman who would forever change my life.

* 1,208 days ago I got down on one knee and proposed marriage to this wonderful woman.

* Our third wedding Anniversary is in 351 more days.

* 133 days to go until New Years eve and the final blog of 2013.

* 127 more shopping days left until Christmas.

* I've got 103 more days until until I start my second half century.

* 19 more days until we set sail, I'll need to start writing those absentee blogs and set them up to post.

* 11 more days until the Mountaineers play their first football game of the season.

* This is my 3,346th post I have written since I first became a blogger on September 11, 2004. I'll be in Grand Turk on my 9th Anniversary of being a blogger.

* WVU is now back in full session, the traffic should slow down a little bit, the first day is always the most hectic traffic wise.

* Chad is attending Fairmont State, I know his Momma is quite proud of him.

* Have a Great Day!!!

Happy Birthday Gloria Jean Hall

I would like to take this time out and wish a very special lady a very Happy 29th birthday today. Jean, better known to many of my readers as AnMaw is celebrating her birthday today.

I'm not sure what Jean has in store for today, I know it won't be sitting around doing nothing as she is one who enjoys life, but if you do have the opportunity to see her today, make sure that you take a little bit of time out of your busy schedule and wish her a very Happy Birthday today.

I know she has been a very influential person in my life and I would just like to take this opportunity to wish her a very happy Birthday today.

Happy Birthday Jean.

Monday A call for Help

Well all good things must come to an end even if you don't want them to. It's time to stop all that partying and enjoyment and get our butts back to the office and do what it is we do for a living.

This coming weekend I may need a hand from some people. My Mom, and Gerald are going to be moving in the next month and want to get an early start before moving day. So they are going to pack up some books and stuff and get them ready for storage. Nick has helped them acquire a storage unit and he and I and anyone else who is willing to assist will be moving some of their belongings to the storage shed. Nick and I would appreciate any help we could get.

On September 15th, which is a Sunday they will be making their move. I will be literally returning from the Caribbean (booked it in February) and will be unavailable on that day, so I am going to put a call out for any healthy young males to assist them with the move. They will be moving to just off Scott Avenue up close to where I used to live and will need as much assistance as they can get.

Hope everyone has a great day, be careful because today is the first day of classes fro WVU, so really pay attention when  traveling around town. Avoid going anywhere near any car with New Jersey license plates.

Sunday Morning

Here I site once again, awake in a quiet household with absolutely nothing on the TV. I turned on the Roku a few hours ago and fell asleep watching a movie and just haven't turned it back to the TV as of yet. I'm the only one up, but I am thinking of waking Michelle up so we can get to Wal-Mart before the influx of students get there this morning.

I was playing around with my digital camera yesterday trying to optimize some settings and get for some special effects to come with a camera click. I've already got the delayed shutter speed figured out and now I'm working on Apature, but mine only goes from 3.5-8 so there is not a whole lot of variance on that. I'm wanting to buy a new camera later this year and I'm wanting to take that final step and get a DSLR camera, but I want to know all it can do so I can optimize it rather than just buying an overpriced point and shoot camera. I want to be able to get full effects of what I am doing. I downloaded a program called GeoSetter yesterday that allows me to geotag photos like my iPhone does to put into Google earth.

Michelle and I stopped by and tried Morgantown's new Dunkin' Donuts yesterdsay. We were going to wait for all the hysteria to die down before we tried it. We each had a drink and a donut, and they were both pretty good. I had a diet coke and a coconut donut and Michelle had a cup of coffee and a sour creme donut.

Nothing planned for today, looking at the weather it is calling for rain all day.

Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the only one here so far who has recovered from a losing battle with the sandman and am up watching the classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

The students and the headaches are back in full force. Yesterday was move in day and this side of town was a little ridiculous with the traffic. So much for the easy drive home, now I'll have to fight to make a left of of Killarney at least until Thanksgiving break.

Michelle has a tiring and stressful week of work this past week, so I would imagine this weekend we're not going to get into much of anything, I've mentioned running to Springs PA to that Amish Country and picking up a few things, there are a couple stores we really like up there, but that is up in the depending on how she feels today.

Have a great day.

36 years ago today

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend, and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

Well today is move in day at the WVU dorms and this is when the traffic in this town goes from pleasant to "Oh My Gad Where Dis All These Idiots Come From Day". Moving around Morgantown will probably be a little more challenging this weekend and we probably have a significant number of drivers who are unfamiliar with a lot of traffic patterns, especially the new round about, so use a little extra caution this weekend as the students move back to town.

Is it just me or has anyone noticed that there is nothing scheduled for the usual wings cookoff that usually takes place around this time? It's usually done in August and I have not heard the first word about it this year. I wonder of they have decided to discontinue the event. It was always something I looked forward to sice I love wings so much.

Anyways, off today so have a great day.

Happy 10th Anniversary Bobby and Valarie Nicholson

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all my pictures that I have. Little lost moments of time that were captured with a camera and stored forever with the hope that we never lose them. I like to select just one of those lost moments in time and reflect upon it in my blog. Sometimes it's a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not so easy,  it is however always a boatload of fun.

This weeks picture comes from Hayley's Sweet 16 Party that we held for her the year that we all moved in together. Michelle and I pulled this party off on a shoestring budget that year, but we managed to pull it off and make a memorable day for her.

She had a number of her friends over as well as quite a few family members on both sides of the family as well as a few other trusted adult friends. I think about everyone from my side of the family made it that day with the exception of a small few.

It's hard to believe that that has been four years ago and she is now 20. Yikes.

Happy Birthday Bobby Nicholson

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Nephew Bobby a very Happy Birthday today.

Bobby and Val will be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary later this week, but he has been a part of the family much longer than that.

If you happen to see Bobby today, make sure that you wish him a very Happy Birthday today. I'm sure Val has some special activity planned for him, but I don't know the details of anything at this time.

Happy Birthday Bobby.

What Day is it?

Come on you all know what day it is. Can I get a Hump Daaaaaayyyyyyyy!!! Woot Woot.

Yes, we have reached that part of the week that makes my favorite commercial relevant, the one when you can look just over that noon time hump and just on the other side of a photo flashback see the dawn of another weekend off in the distance.

After speaking with Michelle earlier this week, I think this weekend has a big plan of nothing. No running around and just staying close to home.

Now for the bad news, you'll notice traffic is getting more and more intense around town. The students are starting to slowly pile back into town and Friday should be complete chaos as the dorms open up for the year. I have not heard anything about Fallfest 2013 for Monday, but the acts should be confirmed in the next few days for the WVU students.

Have a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well that dreadful Monday is once again in our rear view mirrors and we are staring straight down the barrel of a Tuesday. That and the fact that the sun will come up today gives me no better reason to do a tidbits.

*  It's been 1,978 days since I went out on my first date with Michelle. She spent four hours getting ready and I just hopped in the shower and walked out the door. It was the day my life changed for the better forever.

* 1,201 days ago at about 4:00 in the morning, I proposed marriage to this wonderful woman.

* We are getting ready to celebrate our 738th day of marital bliss.

* 358 days to go until my third wedding anniversary.

*  I have 140 days left of blogging to come up with some content for my goodbye 2013 blog.

*  There are a mere 134 more shopping days left until Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, I think a number of us need to sit down and discuss this year.

* In 110 days I'll turn the big 5-0. I swear it was just yesterday I was a teenager riding my motorcycle around the field and living with my Grandma and driving her crazy.

* 26 days until we set sail on the Atlantic Ocean on our second cruise. I think we're starting to get ideas for next years vacation already. Thinking about flying south and leaving from one of those ports so we can see different places.

* Mountaineer Football is a mere 18 days away. I think you'll slowly start to notice students trickle back into town this week and it will be a full on assault on Morgantown this weekend with the dorms opening up on Friday.

*  Talking to Gary yesterday, he landed some really nice contracts for Hall's Construction. It sounds like he is getting ready to make this thing grow.

* Kids start school in Monongalia County the day after tomorrow, this will be for the local kids with WVU starting Monday.

* Chad is going to be going to Fairmont State this Semester, I know Michelle is one very proud Momma.

* Jared is also going to be attending Pierpont College this semester.

* This is my 3,335th Blog

Back to Work Kind of Day

All good things must come to an end, and that even includes those fun filled things called weekends. It was an awesome weekend for me, went to my Niece's kids birthday Party, visited my Sister Terri on Saturday and got a visit from Val yesterday ton convert some media she has off of a DVD and into a computer usable format so she can "get Bobby" on their 10th Wedding Anniversary this week.

Now it'a time to stop having all the fun and concentrate on what we do for a living that allows us to life the lifestyles we live.

Don't think I have anything special planned this week, but that can always change in a moments notice.  We're starting to gear up for another Atlas next year and possibly looking beyond that with a few other projects.

Michelle was a little under the weather yesterday, I think she may have gotten a hold of something made with coconut and she is very allergic to it. Her fingers started to swell after breakfast, son I'm thinking it was something she ate. Hopefully she will feel better today.

Late Sunday Morning Blog

Yes, I have slept in this morning and am late doing my blog this morning, we stayed up last night and watched the Steelers game and then stayed up and watched the Pudgy Polamalus on the KDKA Steelers Trivia Challenge. Looks like we won and will advance to the semi-finals. We'll be on again on August 31.

I stopped up and saw Terri for a few hours yesterday, been a while since I had done that so I decided to go to Big Kahuna's for lunch. She made the suggestion of everyone going out for breakfast at Golden Coral some Sunday morning in the near future and making it a monthly thing just to get everyone together a little more often. I agree and might try setting something up in the near future like we did for my Mother's 70th birthday earlier this year.

Short blog, gotta run

Saturday, August 10, 2013

Saturday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household as the only person who has recovered from a losing battle with the sandman last night. I'm up watching the benchwarmers and surfing around on the net.

The Pittsburgh Steelers play tonight in their first preseason game of the year. After the game and after the news stayed tuned to watch the Pudgy Polamalus take on the competition in their first round game of the KDKA Trivia Challenge. I have some insider information that tells me the Polamalus actually do pretty well tonight despite no one studying. So set your clocks to wake up or set your DVR's to record it.

I see that there are people just waiting with anticipation to see these three start to defend their 2008 title, I know Kynlea is waiting and after that smash cake last night she's probably still pumped up on a sugar rush.

Not too much on our agenda today, It seems like we have been running or doing something every weekend for months and I think we are just going to stay around the house and relax a little bit. I'm going to attempt to avoid having to go to WVU Urgent Care for the third consecutive weekend in a row.

I did go to follow up visit with Dr Mitchell yesterday. They eye still has a milky substance blacking some of my vision and needs a little more time to recover. He's confident that he'll have me back to 20/20 once all of the healing from the surgery has taken place. I'll see him again in  a couple of weeks.

Have a great day.

I have my second followup today from my surgery last week. Something tells me that I'm going to have to be wearing glasses as my eye has never fully recovered and I'm probably going to need a prescription set of eye glasses or contact lenses.

We'll be heading to Amy and Ralph's this evening for Kaiden and Kylea's birthday party. Amy decided to follow Val's lead and have both of her kid's birthday party the same day, that's only half the headache on her and allows her to ensure they both have their own time. It's worked well for Val and her kids, hopefully it works well for Amy as well.

Not too much on our agenda other than that this weekend, been to WVU urgent care the past two, seeing if we can avoid that this weekend. LOL

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all my pictures and sometimes other peoples pictures, and select just one to wrote a blog about. A lost moment in time that was forever captured in digital format and forever stored and shared for all to see. Sometimes it's pretty easy finding that pic and sometimes it's not so easy, it is however always a whole lot of fun.

This weeks pic is from a few days vacation Michelle and I took a few years ago. We took an extended weekend after the Jimmy Buffett concert a few years ago and took a trip to Canton Ohio and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

We grabbed this pic of me standing beside Pittsburgh Steelers great Jack Lambert's jersey. He was the centerpoint of the great Pittsburgh Steelers defenses in the 70's and during their Super Bowl years. Hard nosed player that everyone (if you were a Steelers fan) loved.

If you ever get the chance, the Pro-Football  Hall of Fame is a days trip and not that far beyond Amish Country in Ohio. It's well worth the trip and everyone should see it at least once in their lifetimes.

Have a Great Day

Hump Day Good News

Anyone know what day it is? Hey you, reader over there behind the computer what day is it? Yes it is Wednesday and a HUMP DAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!

Yeah, I still love that commercial. Anyways I got some really good news yesterday, I had heard the rumor for a few months but now it has been confirmed that one of my favorite restaurants Primanti Brothers  would now officially be opening a Morgantown location.

The announcement  cane yesterday, but Michelle with some privileged information knew it was going to be in the Suncrest Towne Center for some time. I had heard a rumor, but also heard they were looking for a location and I had heard over by the new Triple S shop, but that is not the location.

Something tells me Michelle and I will eat there at least once.

Happy Birthday Randy Lee Hamrick

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Nephew, a Mr. Randy Lee Hamrick, a very Happy Birthday today.

If my memory serves me correct, this should be the 4th anniversary of his 21st Birthday or better known as the Birthday when your car insurance rates take a big cut and get much much cheaper.

Not sure what Randy will be getting into today, I know he has been doing a good deal of work with my Brother In Law Nick lately.

Anyways, if you see Randy today, make sure that you take a little bit of time out and wish him a very Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Randy.

Happy Second Anniversary

There are only a few days in your life that you never forget, ones that will change your life forever one way or the other and these days always seem to liver with you.

Two wonderful years years ago today my life experienced one of those days. A day that changed my life forever and for the positive. For the first time in my life, I was about to enter into the bonds of matrimony with a very special lady.

To my wife Michelle, thank you so much for coming into my life and putting it on the path that I had always wanted it to be on, but never managed to find the time to do it. Thank you for making mew the happiest man in the world. Thank you for the last two wonderful years of being my partner in life and filling my empty life with love, joy and happiness.

I Love You with all my heart, Happy Anniversary.

Back to Work

Well that wonderful thing that we like to call a weekend is over with. It was filled with some fun, winning a couple tickets to Cedar Point at Michelle's Company picnic and it ended yesterday with being on the field with the Pittsburgh Steelers for training camp. As a note, our first round KDKA trivia Challenge game will be on this Saturday night. After the Steelers game and after the news our first round game will be broadcast. Tune in to see if we win this round.

Anyways, it's time to stick our noses back on the grindstone for yet another fun filled week of work. This will be the first time that my entire office will all be in in about three weeks. I had a Buffett Concert and one co-worker took a two week vacation which ends today.

I have another follow up appointment with my Doctor this Friday afternoon.

This Summer's Weather

`Yes I am going to do it, I'm actually going to write a blog post about the weather. Has it been a real hot and really nice Summer? With the exception of the 4th of July Weekend when our Air Conditioner went out it really has not been a Summer.

This season we have seen a lot of rain, more than I think I can recall during any recent Summers and the temps have been OK. Not real hot, not real cold but in the OK range. It's almost like this Summer never really arrived.

Here we are in August already and I asked Michelle last night where was the Summer? There were no swimming trips to some swimming hole because there really was no need for it. As we are entering the Dog Days of Summer I have to look back on what we have experienced and really ask "Why was the Summer?"

BFS Company Pic Nic

Here I am again, being the first person to recover from a losing battle with the sandman last night in a quiet household. I'm watching Patch Adams on HBO and surfing the net as I awaken to a new day.

Today's plans are to attend Michelle's company pic nic this afternoon. They had their first one last year and it received such a good review that they have decided to do it once again this year. The two people you see in the picture are the controller Sonny, which is Michelle's boss and her partner in crime in Accounts Payable Lydia.

Last year it was at Mason Dixon Park and unless I am mistaken it will be at the same place this year. It's really a nice little park and when I used to play softball for the first Judies Lounge teams this is where we used to practice all the time since it always seemed to be available.

I'm not sure how the weather is going to hold up this year, looking at the forecast ahead this does not appear as though it is going to be very cooperative today. You never know though, it could turn out to be a nice day.

Have a great day

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend, and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

Well for me this is a one day work week before a weekend. After having two days off for surgery and a followup, I return to work this morning. I can't think of a better day to start on, work one day and then it's the weekend!!!!!!

On tap for us this weekend will be attending Michelle's company picnic tomorrow afternoon. They had such a good response last year that they are doing it once again this year.

Sunday is going to be a whole lot of fun. We will be VIP guests of the Pittsburgh Steelers at training camp up in Latrobe. This is part of our prize package from the KDKA Steelers trivia show for this season. I would love to get a picture of Michelle with Willie Parker, who happens to be her all time favorite player. Willie has returned this season in a coaching capacity. She'll take her Jersey and try to get it signed as well.

Have a great weekend.

Welcome Jonathan Jeffery Paugh

Michelle's Niece and Nephew Jon and Laura welcomed their first child this afternoon. Jonathan Jeffery Paugh (I'll have to get confirmation on the spelling) was welcomed into this world.

6 Pounds 12 Ounces and a healthy baby boy, this is the first child for both Jon and Laura.

Chad and Laiah I know are running up to Sewickly tonight to see the baby. I think Hayley and Jared are going to tag along.

Followup Visit and Moving Day

Well my surgery went well yesterday, I have a followup visit with Dr. Kenneth Mitchell (HIGHLY recommended if you can get him) at the WVU Eye Institute. He did my first surgery three years ago and wouldn't want to have had anyone else do this procedure.

I go in today to get this protective patch removed from my eye and to see what followup instructions that he has for me. I'll meet with him once again next week and he's going to scrape the other eye at that time I believe. Minimally invasive procedure, just clears up the buildup on the other lens.

After that, we're going to UHAUL and getting one for Chad and Laiah as they are moving to their new place in Fairmont today. I'll try to assist as much as possible, but I'm not allowed to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk yet.

We're losing two, but we gained Hayley and Jared Tuesday night as she cleared out of her apartment and will be moving into Chad's bedroom. They are looking to find a place of their own, so they aren't even unpacking the boxes. They are liking Brunswick Apartments up where I used to live. I loved the place and highly recommend it.

Have a good one.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Trying something a little different this week for the Photo Flashback. We did this video log last year and I forgot about it.

Here is our video log that we did after our first stop in Garnd Turk.
