Tuesday's Tidbits

*  Monday is over with, the week is off to a good start, can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* It has been 19,967 days since my reported birth, by my calculation and using my patented 938 day calendar, that should make me 21 years old by my calculations or 54 by these old antiquated calendar's.

* It has been 5,182 days since I graduated from WVU, speaking of WVU now that Mountainfest is over with the students are coming back very soon.

* 3,797 days ago Michelle and I went out for dinner and a movie, the rest has been a pleasant history.

* 3,0014 days ago I got down on one knee and proposed to Michelle, she knew it was coming, but she was still excited.

* It was 2,544 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I got ourselves hitched up and married.

* I have now lived 177 days longer than my Dad did, this is a streak I would really like to grow quite large.

* I have 4,872 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, or at least start doing something else with my life other than working.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 1,509 days away.

* There are 239 days until the next start of my favorite season, Spring 2019.

* 193 more days until Groundhog Day,  Phil has been hanging out in my back yard eating apples. He must like me or he's running reconnaissance.

* 153 more days to go until my Goodbye 2018 Blog is posted, the blog that is my last blog of the year and recaps the previous year. There will be some big things discussed this year, that is for sure.

* There are 147 more shopping days left until Christmas. Tomorrow is the first day of August, so it is creeping up on us.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 123 more days. I think this will be the 34th anniversary of that birthday using the antiquated calendar that most people use.

* 47 days away from our next cruise. We are once again on the Pride heading to the Caribbean. There are two cameras, the Foreward  and the Aft where you can see what is going on on the ship. You can watch all of our wacky adventures and see if they catch me streaking around the ship!

* We are 32 days away from the start of the 2018 WVU Football season when the Mountaineers will open up the year against Tennessee in Charlotte NC.

* There are 6 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Seventh Wedding Anniversary together.

* I have written 5,331 blogs in what is now my 13+ years of being a Blogger and working towards 10,000. Only 4,669 more to go until I reach that Milestone.

* We paid off our cruise this past weekend (meaning we paid of the CC that paid for it)

* No Drone flights this weekend, I'm slacking on that aspect of my flight time. I really need to get some flight time in the near future.

* I hate to mention this, but I do hate snow. I'll take the heat waves any day.

* Jim has let us borrow his riding mower for the rest of the summer, his new house lacks grass this year and it's on loan to us for the time being.

* Do you believe tomorrow is the first day of August, I got to get two cars inspected in August.

* The Mon County Fair is going on right now, we rarely if ever attend. I don't think I have been to one since it was in Westover.

* Speaking of Westover, the Johnny Koon Light Up The Night' Lantern and Butterfly Release will be on August 25th. Help raise some money for a much needed cause.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that includes those fun filled things called weekends. Now it is time for us to get up and get back to doing what it is we do for a living.

Well tonight is also going to be a long one, I will be getting out of work and then rushing home to get changed and get to the ballpark by 6:00 this evening for our game. I don't know how we did it, but looking at the current BOPARC standings we are in first place in our league. Some of our better athletes have not even shown up this season yet, so that makes it even more amazing when you consider that. Hopefully we can keep it going, but we're playing a pretty competitive team this evening.

Looking at my week ahead, my schedule looks pretty open at work, I did my yearly Fire Warden Certification last week and don't have to attend this weeks training. I will be heading out into the field one day this week to work my local segment around here for RTI, but other than that my week appears to be open but that is always subject to change.

It's Fair Season here in Monongalia County with the Mon County Fair opening up this evening with the Parade.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Hi ho hi ho and Go Whitetail Crossing Softball.!!!!

Happy Birthday Josh Nicholson

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my great nephew a very Happy Birthday today. Seems like it was only yesterday that he entered into this world.

Josh is a growing young boy who has been to a few places like Gettysburg that I would like to go to but haven't made it yet.

Not sure what Bobby or Val have planned for this fine young man today or in the near future, but you know it will be interesting.

If you happen to see Josh today, make sure that you take a little bit of time out and wish him a very Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Josh.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm up early with who knows what playing on the boob tube behind me as I collect my thoughts for the day.

Well we did make it to Mountainfest yesterday, we ended up going around noonish to get our grub on. Most of the stuff really wasn't opened up yet or happening. We went and got a couple slaw dogs and some butt fries and hopped on the shuttle to come back home. Planning on returning for the Alabama Concert later that evening. Well I ended up with the headache friday night, we didn't go Thursday Night and last night Michelle had the headache and wasn't feeling well so we did not make it back over to see Alabama.

On to today, I'm going to have a busy day of shopping, traveling and working for RTI. I traveled yesterday morning to pick up the segment materials, now today I'm heading into the field to start the segment. Something tells me that this is going to be a long day.

Saturday

Here I sit on a quiet Saturday Morning, waking up and planning out my day. I'm up with nothing on the TV behind me and the only sounds I hear are that of the fan behind me and its soothing and relaxing humming.

I have to travel to Philippi this morning to pick up my segment materials this morning, but I should be back sometime before noon. Michelle is going into the Vet's office to work this morning and get a few things done she needs to get done, then it's off to Mountainfest.

We did not make it to Mountainfest yesterday evening, I wasn't feeling all that great after work, and we decided to hold off until today. For some reason I had a headache yesterday after work and I never get headaches. I don't think either of us were feeling 100% yesterday so we are waiting until today to go and see Alabama. I have seen them 5 or 6 times (lost count), but I haven't seen them in close to 30 years. They used to always play Morgantown during the 80's.

I hope everyone has a great day today, and once again allow yourselves a little extra time to get to where you need to be today. We have an influx of two wheeled traffic around town and I'm sure everyone would like their loved ones safe and back home at the end of this event.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

West Virginia Mountain Fest is in full swing, it all opened up yesterday afternoon and last nights entertainment was Montgomery Gentry. Michelle and I have had our tickets since last December when they went on sale for the Early Bird Price. We did not make it over last night. Tonight might be a different story, Brett Michael the former lead singer of Poison is the featured act this evening. We plan on possibly making it this evening, but tomorrow night with Alabama is who we are really anticipating on seeing.

Both Michelle and I are working our part time jobs tomorrow, I have to run to get segment materials for a segment they want me to start working. I listed it last year, but she assigned it to someone else because they lived closer. She hasn't been able to get to the segment yet, so I am going to start to tackle it Sunday, but I need the segment materials first so I have to drive halfway to Elkins to pick them up.

Have yourselves a great day today and enjoy the start to a great weekend.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet over the years. Little lost moments of time that are forever captured with a camera for all to see and share years later. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not so easy, it is however always my pleasure and a whole lot of fun. It's good to reflect upon your past.

This weeks pic is from a few years ago, when I went to Washington DC to the ESRI Federal Users Conference. I registered late so I had to stay in Arlington Virginia (Just a quick Metro ride to the Convention Center downtown DC. This picture was taken of me the second day of the Conference, this was actually on the balcony of my hotel room. The road behind me leads to the Arlington National Cemetery and just on the other side of that the Pentagon.

I missed the Conference this year, but it should not be any problem for me to go in 2018 this Spring. It may also be a reality that I am going to go to the National User Conference next July in San Diego. They have already asked to travel to Nevada this October to do a Presentation on GIS at a facility out there.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hump Day

Two days down, two more ahead of us, now all we have to do is get up and over this noon time hump and we will all be doing the backside of the workweek and heading towards all the fun.

A couple of notes. Starting today and running through Sunday, Morgantown is going to have a large influx of two wheeled vehicles on the road. WVMountainfest starts tomorrow (We've had our tickets for months) and we will have a large number of visitors to the area. Please allow yourself a little extra time and pay a little more attention while you are driving around town this weekend. We don't need any accidents.

Secondly a few thoughts for my brother Jonathan today. If you are a spiritual person, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers on this day. It would be much appreciated by both him and everyone else.

Have yourselves a great day today.

*  Monday is over with and we are not playing softball tonight, I guess I should do a tidbits.

* It has been 19,960 days since my reported birth, by my calculation and using my patented 938 day calendar, that should make me 21 years old by my calculations or 54 by these old antiquated calendar's.

* It has been 5,175 days since I graduated from West Virginia University with a Degree in Geography, and all these years later I am still working in my field of study.

* I have 4,879 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, or at least start doing something else with my life other than working.

* No Drone flights this weekend, I'm slacking on that.

* I hate to mention this, but I do hate snow. I'll take the heat waves any day.

* Venessa has a pretty good turnout Sunday for the fund raiser. Jim and Chris stopped over earlier, Amanda and Joey came when we did and Pam, George and Calvin all were there with us as well as we ate Spaghetti and raised a little money.

* Take a few weeks off from the riddles, they were easy at first but after a while you start to repeat yourself and it becomes a pain in the butt.

* I'm off the rest of the week for RTI, very transient area and they are not returning just yet. I'll hit it hard in a couple of weeks.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

We're Doing it Again

After five years of cruising, we broke our streak last year and had to cancel last years cruise due to circumstances beyond mine or Michelle's control. It wasn't a financial issue, it was a employment issue and having enough time off.

Last year if we were going to miss a cruise was the best year to miss, as it didn't make it to the Caribbean and had to go to New York City for a couple of days and then out into the ocean because of all of the Hurricanes that were coming through. We would never had made our intended destination.

We contemplated on going this year and see sawed whether we would go next Spring or next fall. The answer is neither, we're going this September again (as in 55 days) once again on the Carnival Pride. Our regular stops of Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay (my favorite) and Freeport are on our agenda.

Booking so late we didn't get the options we wanted and almost had to go to the back of the ship again, as everything in the midship was sold out. Until I refreshed my browser and found 1 mid ship balcony on the 6th floor on the side of the ship we prefer came open. Needless to say we grabbed it and it is now ours. The final payment date is fast approaching for when the cruise needs to be paid in full (we paid in full last night) and this is when some cabins start to open up, so we managed to take advantage of it and grab a last minute canceler.

We are already gold members of the VIFP club, with 35 days at sea already. This will give us 42 and we are well on our way to Platinum.

Woot Woot.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and yes that does in fact include the fun filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is in fact time to stick our collective noses back onto the grindstone and get back to doing what it is wee do for a living.

Looking at my Calendar coming up, I have yearly Fire Warden training this morning. I am the Fire Warden for my floor of my building as we have to do our annual training as to what we are supposed to do. It's just a training course we have to go through once a year. I became the Fire Warden earlier this year when they needed a back up and I volunteered, then the Fire Warden for our floor moved to another building. See what I get for responding to business emails from St Louis...lol

Speaking of St Louis I did find out our yearly certification for RTI will be from January 2nd-6th, we're not sure if we will be first session or the second session. We also do not know the location yet, but St. Louis is a logical choice for our region, but I would kind of like to go somewhere else but that is beyond my control. Michelle has indicated that she wants to go once again this year since she didn't get the chance last year.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit on a quiet Sunday morning, much later than I am usually awake, collecting my thoughts and planning out my day. The Television is once again silent behind me and Peanut of course is frolicking around the house.

We went out to Breakfast with Jim, Chris and the rest of the clan yesterday morning. It was kind of an impromptu thing where everyone got together and we ended up going to Cracker Barrel for Breakfast. Chris had run up to get Jonny and Maddie for the day, so it was a good excuse for everyone to have a get together.

Today is going to be a long one, I'm going out to work later this afternoon and I think Michelle is as well, I have to go and make my rounds and get a few things done. Before that however, the clan is going to head to the Mt Morris Fire Department for a Spaghetti Dinner that will benefit Vanessa Poling. She is one of my sister Pam's longest closest friends and she has some health issues. So if you are not doing anything and you want to help someone out, come on out for a Spaghetti dinner. I think we're planning on going around 1:00 when it opens so the rest of the day is ours to do what we need to do.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit on an early Saturday Morning, I'm up and watching absolutely nothing on the TV (I was streaming a movie earlier) and collecting my thoughts for the day and half heartedly attempting to wake up.

No plans this weekend, if the weather permits we are going to try to tackle the grass and get it cut, the recent heat wave has helped in controlling the cow chow for a couple of weeks, but I would like to tackle it before it gets too tall. Weather permitting like I said as it looks like it is going to rain this afternoon.

I got a chance yesterday to speak to both of my Brothers (although not at the same time). Jonathan returned my call from earlier in the week and we had a nice conversation and I also called Gary last night who was still working. He seems in really good spirits and upbeat. I know he's always really busy so it's rare I get a chance to talk to him.

Have yourselves a great day, it's going to be a day off from both jobs for both Michelle and Me.

Nineteen Years Ago

It was Nineteen years ago today, that this man in the picture with his six offspring passed away. He would be 73 years old if he were still with us and probably still preparing large family dinners for everyone.

So much has happened in the nineteen years since he has passed. Val, Kim, Amy, Moke, Myself and Calvin myself had all got married. We found our lost sibling just a few months ago, and we find out he not only has a Daughter (Granddaughter) Sarah but also a Granddaughter (Great Grand daughter).

We saw Erica, Kaiden, Josh, Kynlea and Ryleigh all enter into the family as the next generation all entered presented themselves as additions to the family.

This man touched and inspired a number of people, people who knew him or had the chance to experience one of his feasts he called a cookout always remember him for his food, the abundance and the great quality of it. He was a coal miner by trade, a great cook by choice and an inspiration to all.

We miss you Dad.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through some of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet through the years and find one special picture that stands out. Little lost moments in time from yesterday caught with a Cameras lens and relived right here in my blog. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it consistently is however is a whole lot of fun.

OK a little change of pace this week, this is a picture of the WalMart Supercenter up on 4H Camp Road  here in Morgantown. When this image was taken we only had one operational WalMart and that was at the old Mountaineer Mall, then a day after this picture was taken that WalMart closed down and Morgantown had two brand new stores opening up.

It's been hard to imagine that it has been going on 12 years since these two stores opened up, it just goes to show you how fast time just flies by when you get to a certain point in your life. I was working at Home, but my Office was either in Frostburg or Sterling Virginia (depending on when we shut down the Frostburg Office), I had drove over after work to grab a picture before all the chaos of everyone wanting to go to the newer stores started. Before these stores opened, I drove to Grafton every Sunday to Grocery Shop at their Super WalMart.

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy Birthday Kynlea Dalton

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Great-Niece Kylea Rae Dalton a very Happy Birthday today.

This little photogenic girl is an absolute bundle of joy to be around, this scene stealer photobombed this photo last year when Ralphie and Amy took her to a WVU women's Basketball game I believe.

I know texting back and forth with Amy over the weekend that she is planning on taking the kids to Idlewild Park today. I guarantee you I know a couple of kids that are going to have an absolute ball today.

If you happen to see this little bundle of joy today, make sure that you take a little bit of time out and wish her the happiest of Birthdays today.

Happy Birthday Kynlea.

Edit, this posted about 14 hours after it was supposed to. Sorry Kynlea, I hope you had a great day at Idlewild.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that includes both our fun filled ans work filled weekends. Now it's time to put the weekend behind us and concentrate on the week in front of us as we prepare for another work week.

Well today is going to once again be a long one for both Michelle and I, we're both working at least one job today with Michelle going in and doing her second job this afternoon after work, and me I'll be heading out to the softball fields this evening to take on IDK. We've ran our record to 3-1 and looking to make it a 4th win on the season this evening. We will have our hands full, but hopefully we will be up to the challenge weather permitting.

My work this quarter with RTI is slow for the time being, I'm only working one segment and they are all transient residents that are not living in their residences at this time. Meaning I'm going out about once a week for the time being and knocking on doors that no one is at just to establish a record of call. It's a challenging quarter to say the least...lol

Have yourselves a great day today.

Our Road Trip

Yesterday Morning I woke up and got Michelle up a little early as well. She had indicated that she would like to get out and do something, she just wanted to get out and away for the day.

We had discussed a few options, but I got the impression she was wanting to go to Idlewild Park for the day, since it was going to be in the 90's and sitting at home really wasn't an option on such a fine day. I found a great deal that they were offering, 4 tickets for $24.50 each, or pay the $41.99 per ticket that was their normal asking price. With such a good deal we bought 4 tickets and asked if Trish and Layla wanted to go. Trish is sick, but she said Layla would love to go so we went and picked her up and spoiled the little girl for the day.

Idlewild has changed since I was last there a few years ago. The Rafter's Run is still there, but it's dilapidated, unused and a little bit of an eyesore because it appears in such disrepair. One of the speed slides is gone, the framework is still there, but it's dilapidated and an eyesore. I'm really surprised it's still standing as well.

They did build a newer set of slides that are active and they installed a lazy river which was one of Michelle's favorites. The Wowabunga Wave Pool is always a treat, it kicked our butts all day long as there are no wave pools anywhere close to here that compete with this one. Then waves are big and powerful and will give you a fun workout.

It was a great day other than my sunburn...lol

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit on a quiet Saturday Morning, I am once again up kind of early watching or should I say listening to the TV behind me as I have no idea what is playing on it. I'm up collecting my thoughts for the day and attempting to wake up.

Being most of my section that I am working for RTI are transient residents who are not here right now, I'm not going to be doing any field work today. It's kind of senseless to knock on doors when no one is there, I'm strategically located for this section, so I'll know when they are back.

Michelle is wanting to do something today but is not sure what she wants to do. We have tossed a few ideas around, but nothing concrete as of yet. It's supposed to be nice today, so getting out and doing something near or in water could be a lot of fun.

Have yourselves a great day.

OK, Big Question for everyone. I have written well over 5,000 blogs during my going on 14 wonderful years as a blogger. Yesterday's Blog in case no one noticed, was actually a blog I had posted like six years ago verbatim. I was going to bed Wednesday night and had realized I had forgotten to write my blog for the next morning, so I just randomly chose one from a few years ago and reposted it. Sometimes this blog is a tedious task rather than something I enjoy, but I do enjoy creating my history for all to share.

With that being said, I'm ready for the weekend. I actually have to go in a little early this morning as I have a Doctors appointment later this afternoon, so that I wont have to use any personal time, I'm going in an hour early so I can leave a little early.

No big plans for the weekend, we'll have to wait and see what presents itself.

Have yourselves a great day.

7th Grade Picture

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet over the years. Little lost moments of time that are forever captured with a camera for all to see and share years later. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not so easy, it is however always my pleasure and a whole lot of fun. It's good to reflect upon your past.

This weeks picture goes way back back to the days when I was in Junior High School and actually had hair. Yes my days of being a long haired hippy were winding down in the mid 70's, as seen here by my 7th Grade School picture for our yearbook. This puts this picture either in the fall of 1976 or the spring of 1977, or the "Elvis is Alive" era. I actually had someone ask me if I was alive when Elvis was during my Freshman year of College.

You have to absolutely love that Western motif shirt that I wore that day, I have no idea why I wore that shirt that day, but it was one of those pictures that were forever captured and you can not change. I was a very hot looking guy back then, even if I do have to say so myself.

Have a great day

Hump Day

Two days down, two more ahead of us after today, that just means we just need to get up and over that dreaded Noon time hump and it will be all downhill as we work towards another fun filled weekend.

I think both Michelle and I are working both of our jobs today, she's going to the Vet's to do the books and I'm going out to do some field work for RTI and garner an interview or two. Not sure how long I am going to be out in the field this evening, I may just concentrate on getting done what needs to get done.

Speaking of work, both of our regular jobs are just chugging along this week. I know at the DOE a lot of people are taking vacations at this time of the year and it's not a crowded facility in the slightest. It's not hard to find a parking spot, that's for sure...lol

Speaking of the DOE, have yourselves a great day today.

Tuesday's Tidbits

*  Monday is once again in our rear view mirrors and we are looking at a Tueday, great reason for a tidbits.

* It has been 19,946 days since my reported birth, by my calculation and using my patented 938 day calendar, that should make me 21 years old by my calculations or 54 by these old antiquated calendar's.

* It has been 5,161 days since I graduated from West Virginia University with a Degree in Geography.

* 3,776 days ago Michelle and I went out for dinner and a movie, 10,000 BC and Pizza Hut.

* 2,993 days ago I got down on one knee and proposed to Michelle.

* It was 2,530 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I became Husband and Wife.

* I have now lived 156 days longer than my Dad did, this is a streak I would really like to grow quite large.

* I have 4,893 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, or at least start doing something else with my life other than working.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 1,530 days away.

* There are 260 days until the next start of my favorite season, Spring 2019.

* 207 more days until Groundhog Day, this is when Phil will tell us about an Early Spring in 2019.

* 174 more days to go until my Goodbye 2018 Blog is posted, the blog that is my last blog of the year and recaps the previous year. There will be some big things discussed this year, that is for sure.

* There are 168 more shopping days left until Christmas, I wonder if I ask Santa for a $Trillion if I could have it.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 144 more days. I think this will be the 34th anniversary of that birthday using the antiquated calendar that most people use.

* We are 53 days away from the start of the 2018 WVU Football season when the Mountaineers will open up the year against Tennessee in Charlotte NC.

* There are 34 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Seventh Wedding Anniversary together.

* There are 17 days to go until MountainFest Starts, we already have our tickets and this will be our second year of attending. Alabama, Brett Michaels and Montgomery Gentry will be the featured acts throughout the weekend. One concert down this year, time to gear up for the next series.

* I have written 5,308 blogs in what is now my 13+ years of being a Blogger and working towards 10,000. Only 4,692 more to go until I reach that Milestone.

* I got to introduce Jonathan to Kim this past Friday. I think she was going to work on getting Terri and him introduced. Waiting to hear anything from Pam or Gary as to when they would like to meet him.

* No Drone flights this weekend, I should have flown once again but I didn't.

* I guess the Koon and Newbraugh family reunion went pretty well this year, we were at Jimmy and couldn't make it.

* My knees are really starting to get bad, either old age is catching up with me or I have walked too many stairs as of late.

* Anyone looking for a good Movie Torrent Site?

* This weeks Riddle: You can touch me but probably wouldn't want to. I can see you but you can't see me. What Am I?

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

* Hi ho hi ho

* Answer to this weeks riddle? Your Eyeball.

Monday

Concert is over and so is that fun thing called the weekend. Now it is time for us to stick our collective noses back on the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living.

It was a good weekend, the Jimmy Buffett concert was very memorable, Peanut has been let back Meoutside to run around and create havoc and we did survive the weekend. Weekends are too short that is for sure.

Softball game this evening, we've been off a few weeks once again and we are ready to hit the field this evening. Hopefully we can get back to our winning ways as we play Honest Abes for the second time this season. They are a great bunch of guys and are arguably one of the funnest teams in the league to compete with as they have also been around forever it seems like. Hopefully we can get back to our winning ways after our first set back of the season last game.

Have yourselves a great day.

The Sunday Morning/Late Saturday Post

We just got settled in from a long day. It was a great day and a great concert and I'm writing this before I lay down so I'm not rushed around in a few hours when I get up.

My Album is posted on Facebook from the pictures Michelle and I took, we tailgated in an are we never tailgated in before plus we ran into a number of people that we knew that just went to the concert.

I guess they almost had a riot as the Staff was being extra picky letting people in and the last people were getting through the security checkpoint at 9:40 for a concert that started at 8:00. Gates were slow and there was not enough of them to handle a crowd that size. I know a number of ticket holders will never be back to this venue because of this.

Anyways, I'm tired and going to bed.

Fins Up!!!!!

Two years ago Jimmy almost bypassed Pittsburgh. Last year he didn't forget to schedule Pittsburgh, he did bypass it for the first time since he started touring. There were a lot of lonely Pittsburgh Parrot heads.

Well today he returns to the Burg for a Saturday Night Concert, this will be the first time I have seen him on a Saturday Night.

This years concert is going to be a special one as Michelle and I have a couple of friends who will see their first Jimmy Concert tonight. Smitty and Stephanie will be going up with some of their co-workers this evening and last night Michelle's best friend Holly bought a couple of tickets and her and Hannah will be going to their first Jimmy Concert.

A guy who I used to play Softball with has arranged for a 27 Passenger Limo for this years festivities and he had a couple extra seats so Michelle and I grabbed them up. He does this every year and invited us a few years ago, but we had other plans as we had our own big tailgate going on.

It's going to be a great day. Fins Up!!!!

I have to say I like these two day work weeks, work two off one, work two two off for a weekend. Too bad we couldn't have a holiday in the middle of every week, that makes the work week go fast and bearable.

Tonight we are going to be preparing for tomorrow, probably a stop at the Party Store to get some Leis and things for tomorrows Jimmy Buffet Concert and Limo ride. This will be the first of a few concerts we see this year, we've also got tickets to Mountainfest later this month so there is that as well.

Peanut seems to be returning to her normal self, she did have me scared this weekend, scared to the point that the possibility of having to put her down was a thought. She wasn't responding at it was heart breaking. I'm happy to report thanks to the great team at Morgantown Veterinary Clinic that she is about back to normal. She's wanting to go outside and play, but we want to make sure she gets all her medicine before we let her out like that. It was a scare and we just want to make sure our baby is alright.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic is an easy one, it's from a Jimmy Buffett Concert a few years ago and this was part of our tailgate.

We used to set up a couple easy ups, take the Coleman Grill as well as tables and chairs and had ourselves a tailgate. It was a lot of fun when we either had friends or family that went with us and made it a bigger tailgate.

This was one of the signs that used to hang on one of our EZ-ups that we would bring out once a year. The Tiki Bar was open and the good times were enjoyed.

This year we are taking a Limo up with 24 other people instead of the big hassle it was to set up a tailgate and break it down. This year we are going to enjoy the day and let someone else do all the driving.

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy 4th of July

Hey everyone, 232 years ago we told England to piss off we were taking care of our own selves.

It is our nations 232nd Birthday and a day of fun, picnics and fireworks. I hope everyone has a great 4th, may your BBQ grills be fired up and creating some memories to last a lifetime.

Both Michelle and I are off today, we're going to battle the cow chow that grows in the back yard and then just simply throw some burgers on the BBQ in the back yard and relax and enjoy our mid week weekend.

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th.

Monday

Well the weekend is now in our rear view mirrors and we are now starting another week of doing what it is we do for a living. This is going to be a great week so let's get this puppy started.

Great week you ask, of course, Wednesday is the 4th of July, meaning I work two days and get a day off before working two more days. A couple two day work weeks with a short weekend in the middle of it all. What is at the end of the week? A Jimmy Buffett concert, so I would say that is the recipe for a great week.

Once again the temps are supposed to be in the 90's, we're in the middle of a hot spell, so make sure that you keep cool and if you are outside to stay hydrated. It's going to be a hot one and you may want to pay attention to this chart especially if you live in our climate and not exposed to this daily.

My printer at home started to not work right, I tried everything but it just didn't want to seem to print black. Changed ink, cleaned print heads and everything. Sam's has my exact same printer at a big discount, so I bought it and tossed the old one. Problem fixed...lol

Have yourselves a great day.

Peanut Scare

What a scare that we had this morning, our little fur baby Peanut, the one who is just full of life, had some serious health problems this morning.

Michelle looked at me and said something is not right with Peanut, I looked at her and she was the very definition of lethargic. She was throwing up on herself and was just sitting there is a complete daze. It broke our hearts as something was big time wrong with our baby.

Michelle rushed her to the NCWV Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Fairmont to have her looked at. She was dehydrated for one thing, and had some kind of crystals in her urine. She gets fresh wet food every day, but she doesn't ever want to seem to eat it opting for the dry food. I did a google search and came up with this, which could be the cause of it all.

She is home safe and resting, although still kind of out of it. Her Meowtside time is restricted until she gets better or at least starts to show signs of life again. Hopefully she will be OK in a couple of days, they gave her fluids and some anti-biotics to take.

Sunday

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, I'm up early or late for me which ever way you want to call it, and collecting my thoughts for the day. Nothing is playing on the TV behind me and I'm still trying to wake up.

It is the start of the third quarter for working on the SAMHSA Study for RTI. This will be my tenth quarter working on this study (two and a half years) and it all starts over again today. It is a study that I do believe in, and enjoy doing, as I get to get to go out and meet people rather than being in an office. Field work at its finest and the best part is we're doing something for our communities and trying to give people cash if they are chosen to participate. No I don't get to choose where I go or who gets selected, that is all done by a statistical model based on the needed demographics.

I'm going to be facing two big battles today, stairs and the heat. I worked this section last summer and when I was in St. Louis they asked us what our biggest challenge of the year was and I simply said stairs. These buildings are all like ovens (being in the 90's today is not going to help) and there are no elevators. The apartments are cool, the main areas are not cooled and are quite uncomfortable. It's going to be a challenge.

Michelle and I are going to be doing our typical shopping this morning, the morning should be our routine morning. We are so predicatable...lol

Have yourselves a great day today, hopefully I can get a few interviews and be in air conditioning.
Hi ho hi ho.
