Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week, I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from somewhere on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up, recalling or reliving the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task, and sometimes it's not that easy, but one thing it has always been a lot of fun.

This one was an easy one for me, I was in a Facebook group talking about toys of the past and they posted a picture of this bowling game that I used to have, so I found this picture of it and put it under my pwmn comment saying I had one and loved it.

I think that is me, Gary beside me and Trishia Trevillion there with us, it may have been Pam as they were all at Grandma's that Christmas.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic is from Thanksgiving two years ago at the Cassville Firehall. Everone was taking pictures and I decided to actually get in one. That is the worst part of being the photographer: you are rarely ever in any pictures unless someone else takes them. This little family unit needs to have an updated picture sometime after the first of the year.

Have yourselves a great day.

I swear this was one of my favorite Halloweens. We had always done Halloween at my Dad's up at East Gate. Everyone would congregate up there, and it was always a good time.

2015 was the first one after Jean passed, so neither she nor my dad was around. Amy and Ralphie stepped up and did so in amazing fashion. They were doing a Wizard of Oz theme, and Ralphie got smart and hooked the trailer up to his 4-wheeler and drove everyone around where they live to be able to cover more ground and hit more houses.

Thank you for the memories Ralph and Amy.

Go create your own memories today.

I'm going to try something a little different today, I'm actually uploading a video to Blogger and it's of Hayley's Gender Reveal announcement a couple of weeks ago.

Just look at Hayley's face when she realizes that it is a girl, that look says it all and you can see the excitement is genuine at that exact moment.

This picture was taken last Thanksgiving, it's of Chris, Michelle and Dani and notice Michelle's shirt. She can finally wear that shirt again because this one is going to be healthy and spoiled. I can't tell you how excited she is for this whole thing.

Since WVU Baseball just had a magical run and fell short of the World Series Finals, I thought I would go back a few years to a baseball game Michelle and I went to when we first started dating. I would say Michelle got a picture of the Mountaineer, but that's Brock who was a friend of mine and just happened to be the Mountaineer.

It's amazing how far the program has come since Michelle and I first started dating, considering we were playing in Omaha last week in front of 24,000 fans and on ESPN. This day however, we were just a couple of the fans in the stands and Brock had just been named the Mountaineer. He had graduated and tried for it again (he was the backup for two years) and if he did not get it he was going to move on, but he got it and entered Grad School. Brock was the Little Mountaineer years ago when his Uncle Rock Wilson was the Mountaineer. It was a great human interest story, now he works at Marshall, the moron.

Have a great day.

This week's pic was from the Memorial Fund raiser for Nick. Michelle either volunteered or was volunteered to work the table and collect money for the fundraiser. Selling tickets and soliciting donations to step up and help out. She did an amazing job, and I really didn't get too many pictures from the day, but I did manage to grab this one of my lovely wife.

It was a good day for the most part, everyone tried to remain focused on our primary objective, and that was to raise money for Nick Rehmani and his surviving family.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic goes back to when the country was shut down because of COVID. I was just laid off and Michelle was working from home and we were both at home. Weather was nice and we were both home, so Kiwi got a lot of outside play time with his distant cousins, you know, the wild ones. They would stop by for a visit and say hello.

The year was 2020, it's hard to believe that that was six years ago, but it has been.

Have yourselves a great day.

I bought this shirt for Michelle a few years ago. If you know Michelle, you know she loves her coffee. She also loves her Kiwi and she has a shirt indicating how to start a good day. Let me tell you, Kiwi has a big personality and he just electrifies the household. Although he was in a contract disput and refused to pose for this picture, he was holding out for more seeds. Greedy bird.

Have yoursleves a great day.

I should call this one like Mother, like Daughter. This was taken last Summer at the Hovatters Wildlife Zoo trip. Hayley was feeding a giraffe, something Michelle loves to do. However Michelle puts the carrot in her Mouth and lets the giraffe grab is straight out of her mouth. Hayley didn't appear to be that brave and handed it to them.

We're planning on another trip up this year as a group if anyone is interested. Details to come.

Have youselves a great day.

This weeks pic happened last Thursday, Layla was graduating from the MedEd program and she was the Senior speaker for her class at University High. There is a whole album on Facebook that I posted up.

I think she deserves not one but two pictures posted up (out of 145), I can't express how proud of her both Michelle and I are of her. She actually won the first award of the night called Mountain Movers and when they were talking about it and didn't announce who the winner was, I just knew it was Layla. She is that dedicated and that focused.

This is one that I saw on Facebook last week and it was the essence of Nick, especially since he did so many encouraging and uplifting tictok videos building his business. I knew this had to be my photo flashback the moment I saw it.

This is Peanut, but Peanut when she was just a little kitten. Years before she ever met Kiwi and would you believe that this was taken nearly 10 years ago. We got her in May of 2016 right after she had been weened. Her Mom was a wild whore who lived on in the woods in Pennsylvania, and we had just lost Phin, so I got on Pet Finders and found this little bundle of joy for Michelle.

Peanut is still a lot to handle, but she is addicted to her hoomans and of course her weekly chaos that she gets into with her brother Kiwi, but this is the real Peanut when we first brought her home.

It's been a few years, but Michelle and I took Layla to Idlewild Park one summer day about 8 years ago. I was walking around all stylish with the Dad bd, bald head and my Hawaiian shirt. Michelle had found a deal for 4 tickets to the park and we jumped on it. We were going to take Trish and Layla, but only Layla ended up coming with us that day.

We all had a great day, spent most of the day in the wave pool, but we had done a few other things as well.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic goes back to the 1970's. I was living with Grandma Hall and Terri had come to visit for a week or so. I was just starting to get into cameras for the first time and of course ole Bonnie Hall stuck her tongue out at me, I guess that is different than flipping me the middle finger like everyone does.

Believe it or not, that is in fact my sister Terri sitting beside her.

This weeks pic is our trip to the Hovatters Zoo last year, a number of people from both sides of the family went up last year and enjoyed a zoo day.

Speaking of the Zoo Day, Michelle and her sisters have been talking about planning another big get together if anyone is interested in going. If you are interested in going and making some memories that day, let us know. Last year we took up a bunch of food and sat out at the picnic tables and feasted.

It was and will be a fun time.

Can you guess who this sexy Geospatial Genius is sitting on Grandma Hall's lap? It is none other than your favorite Blogger/Geographer, me!!!!

Don't ask me what year this picture was taken, being I'm only 21 I'm going to guess that this picture was sometime on or before 2004, but that is just a guess on my part. Forget that Grandma Hall has been gone since 1980, she had a time machine she hopped on to help pose for this picture.

This one goes back to either 1977 or 1978. I had bought my first camera, a Kodak 126 (That was the film). It was the summer after Grandpa Hall had passed, and we were having a cookout at our house. This was Grandma Hall, you can see my dog Rocky off in the distance and we were playing a game of croquet in the side yard. We usually set up back by the garden, but we sat it up here for some reason.

I grabbed a Picture of Grandma Hall that day as well as a few other ones, but this one means a lot to me. It was a time when it was just Me, her and Rocky.

This weeks pic goes back a few years, Amy and Ralph hosted a cookout at their place four years ago. I'm not sure if it was just for Memorial Day or a Housewarming or whatever. It was one where everyone was there at the same event.

Amy and Ralph are such good hosts, every time they do one it is memorable. This picture was one I like, it was Amy simply carrying food from the kitchen to the pavilion.

Yes, this is a real picture of the celebrities of Lucy's Journal that posts every Wednesday, the Quackers. Kynlea bought a couple of Ducks last year at I think Rural King and they named them the Quackers. They stay in the back yard and were a couple of really fun birds when I met them last Summer.
