Tuesday's Tidbits

* Our extended Holiday weekend is now behind us, now it's time to stick our collective noses back onto the grindtone. Can't think of a better reason to do a tidbit

* It has been 21,361 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new, and improved 1,000-day Calender. It's better than the 991-day calendar as it gives you a nice round number to work with.

* It has been 6,601 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. 18 years ago and still doing GIS and loving it.

* 5,186 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, the pizza hut is gone, the movie was 10,000 BC but she still hasn't held that against me.

* 4,408 days ago I proposed to Michelle in the backyard at 4:00 in the morning. The same bench she feeds the deer, groundhogs, geese, ducks, turkey and a whole slew of birds from. I'm waiting for a Giraffe to show up, or at least a couple spider monkeys.

* It was 3,951 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, we poured sand into a vase said our I do's and we were hitched.

* I have now lived 1,573 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,266 days, I've now outlived him by 96 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again! We did find him, just never had the honor of a face-to-face meeting.

* I have 3,585 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. Who knows though, doing what I do I may never retire.

* 260 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, I think he and the family have moved back home in the backyard.

* 215 more days to go until my Goodbye 2022 Blog is posted, it's been eventful. I have it started.

* There are 209 more shopping days left until Christmas 2022.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 189 more days.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 83 days away. I am so ready for this game, we kicking Pitts Butt. I think this count started with about 2500 or so days and I've kept it up.

* There are 67 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eleventh Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* 55 Days until Michelle and I are in Pittsburgh to see Jimmy Buffett!!!!!

* There are only 21 days until the official start of Summer.

* I have written 6,806 blogs in the now 17 1/2 years since I started blogging. Seems like it was just yesterday that I started all of this.

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. I may actually but one off of same ebay and piece it together but I'm not sure it is really worth the effort to be honest. My little drone is awesome.

* I did fly my drone Saturday at Amy's picnic. Just a short little flight.

* Amy and Ralphie did a great job this past weekend.

* I'm still working 10 hour days again this week for Duquense Light, making up for Monday.

* Have yourselves a great day.

* Hi ho hi ho day 36 of 38 in a row.

Memorial Day

As we extend our long unofficial start of Summer out for one more day and most of us have this wonderful day off from working, let's not forget the reason that we have this day.

This is a day that we take to honor those Americans who not only fought for our country but paid the ultimate sacrifice in performing their duties.

I'm off today and will be attending picnic #2 of fhe weekend this afternoon at Jim and Chris's. Michelle's other sister Danielle is down from Pittsburgh with her husband Roy, so it should be a good time with very very special people once again. Two times in the same weekend, I consider myself lucky.

Today I will make my annual trip to all of the grave yeards, Michelle and I went to Grandpa and Grandma Hall's gravesite yesterday and started to clean them up a little bit. I bought some special solution used to clean marble graves that takes all the built-up grime on them and helps you remove it. We sprayed it, took a little tool to scrape the grime off and sprayed them down, then scrubbed them and rinsed them then sprayed them again before we left. Today we will address that once again and do similar actions, we also cleaned Grandpa Hall's brother Lincoln Hall's Grave. I'll be making trips to Arnettesville Cemetary, East Oak Grove Cemetary, and returning to Mount Union Cemetary to place flags on family member's graves who served.

Have yoursleves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit on a quiet Sunday morning, I'm up early planning the menu for the week before we go shopping and I have to go out to work this afternoon. I'll be working a few hours today after having the last couple of days off.

We went to my niece Amy and her husband Ralphs's house for a family get-together that has honestly been a couple of years in the making. We really have not been able to get everyone together since COVID started and the fact that everyone is now starting to get a little older with growing family units, it makes it a little more difficult.

I would, especially like to thank everyone who managed to make it yesterday, it really did make it a very special day for all of us. Photographs are only lost little moments in time that we were able to capture with a camera lense, something to remember that one specific moment for all to see and share. Yesterday afforded me the opportunity to capture many of those moments in time and I am very thankful for that.

Have yourselves a great day.

It's a Picnic Kind of Day

Hopefully, the weather holds out for today, but today is going to be an awesome one. Amy and Ralphie have volunteered to have everyone come to their home this afternoon and have a nice little cookout/picnic.

Once again thank you to Amy, Ralph, Kaiden and Kylea for inviting everyone to their home this afternoon for an afternoon and evening of spending time with the most important people in our lives. It's going to be a great day.

I am fully intending to take my drone and my camera with me today, I would love to get a few aerial shots or video to go along with the camera shots I'm going to be getting on the ground. I want to capture some of those soon-to-be-lost moments in time that will allow us to reflect on this day in the future.

Have yourselves a great day and weekend and make as many memories as possible.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

Day 38 of 38 is already in the books for me, which means my streak of 38 consecutive days working one job or the other is now over with and I get to enjoy a few days off starting with today!!!!

What's on my agenda for the day? Shopping and spending money. I'll be heading to Harry's this morning and getting some fresh ground beef for tomorrow's cookout as well as making a trip to Walmart and Sams. I may not be working today, but I will be busy as hell to say the very least.

I have to say that I am actually ready for a break. So many long days and working every day for the past couple of months or so calls for a little bit of time to relax and recharge, which is happening this weekend.

Have yourselves one heck of a day.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a whole lot of fun.

I don't think in all my time doing Photo Flashbacks, that I have done a blog where the primary concern was actually a cake....until now.

This was Kaiden's first birthday party that Amy and Ralph had for him. They took a picture of him and put it on the cake. I'm not sure if anyone in town even still does this, I know Gerald's Brother Richard was one of if not the only one in town that did this service.

Have yourselves a great day.

Guess what!! Hi ho hi ho it's Day 38 of 38 in a row!!!!!!!!

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is once again behind us and we have a pretty good start to the week, now we are looking straight down the barrel of a Tuesday and you know what that means.

* It has been 21,354 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new and improved 1,000-day Calender. It's better than the 991-day calendar as it gives you a nice round number to work with.

* 4,401 days ago I proposed to Michelle in the backyard at 4:00 in the morning. The same bench she feeds the deer, groundhogs, geese, ducks, turkey and a whole slew of birds from. I'm waiting for a Giraffe to show up, or at least a couple spider monkeys.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 90 days away. I am so ready for this game, we kicking Pitts Butt. I think this count started with about 2500 or so days and I've kept it up.

* There are 74 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eleventh Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* I have written 6,798 blogs in the now 17 1/2 years since I started blogging. Seems like it was just yesterday that I started all of this.

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. I may actually but one off of same ebay and piece it together but I'm not sure it is really worth the effort to be honest. My little drone is awesome.

* I did fly my drone briefly on Saturday as Michelle was cutting grass, trying to get better piloting the thing. I'll be taking it out this weekend up at Amy's

* Amy and Ralphie have stepped up to host the Memorial Day Weekend picnic. I think all the planning is about done.

* I'm still working 10 hour days again this week for Duquense Light, but this is so I can have Friday off.

* We are still dogsitting, the event Hayley and Tyler went down for is over with and they are all returning back to Pittsburgh sometime today. Not sure if they are picking the dogs back up today or tomorrow.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and yes that does include those things everyone else refers to as weekends, now it is time for everyone to take their collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone for another fun-filled week of doing what it is that we do for a living.

Well I am still working 10 hour days for this week and next, but that is to make up for Friday and Monday when I will be off from Duquense Light. After 7 weeks our overtime is over with Friday is what they call a floating day, I can work 8 hour days all week or 4 10's this week and take Friday off.

Michelle has to take her Mom to a Doctors appointment tomorrow, so she will go in a little bit later tomorrow. Rather than just running there and turning around and coming back to this side of town to pick her Mom up for a 9:00 appointment.

There will be a nice family get together this weekend at Amy's. We had a little bit of confusion this weekend about who was bringing what, but I think it is all worked out now. I'm getting kind of excited for this, Ralph built a wheel chair accessible ramp for the pavillion and has done a great job with everything.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hi ho hi ho day 35 of 38 in a row.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, May and Gracie are taking up the bed with Michelle, Peanut is hiding less and less and Sophie is just Sophie and doesn't care. Kiwi ordered himself a bird typewriter from Amazon and said he is going to write a best-selling novel called "Kiwi's guide to controlling your humans", Should be a bird best seller.

I'm out in the field once again today working for RTI. I'm really not getting much done because of the segments that I have been assigned, next quarter isn't going to be much better, to be honest with you as I'll be working basically the same heavy student populated areas and this will be the MOST heavily populated.

Michelle, Chris and Danni all took their Mom out to lunch yesterday. They made Michelle pick the location and I suggested that they all go to Apple Annies. Good home made food that I think she would like and no one argued with my choice. I was working, Jim was working with his little roadside stand at the end of Route 7 and I imagine Roy was back home working, so it was just the Mom and Daughters yesterday.

Today, it's going to be a day of shopping and working once again, yeah I know big surprise on that one. We are still dog sitting for a few more days, but today is the end of the Hangout Festival that Hayley went to and they are scheduled to return on Tuesday, so I imagine May and Gracie will return home at that time. They have both gotten some new toys and bowls, and treats while they have been visiting.

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy Birthday Pam and George McClain

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Sister Pam and an early Birthday to my Brother in Law George and wish them both a very Happy Birthday today.

Pam is a sister that any brother would be very proud to have. She is the most genuine of the genuine and it is an honor to call her my Baby Sister. She would do anything for anyone and is one of the most innocent souls anyone would ever want to meet.

George is the Brother in Law who is just a few weeks away from retiring and entering the good like so to speak.

If you happen to see or talk to Pam today or George on Sunday, take a little bit of time out of your busy day and wish this special lady or this fine young gentleman a very Happy Birthday today.

Happy Birthday Pam and George a little early.

Saturday morning grumblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet, but full house. Maybelline is sleeping with Michelle, Gracie is on the chair and Peanut and Sophie are somewhere around. Kiwi is in his little house figuring out how he can take over the world in the next couple of days.

I'm out working for RTI today, but I do see an end in sight my consecutive days streak as I am on day 33 in a row. It'll go to 38 days and that is where it stops. Friday is what Duquense Light calls a floating day, so I am working longer days Monday thru Thursday and taking Friday off. I'm also taking Saturday off from RTI to do the family picnic thing at Amy's. I'll work either Sunday or Monday for RTI and take the other one off, but thaT is next weekend. I'm working today and tomorrow.

Michelle's sister Danni is in town for the weekend, she came in so the sisters can get together to discuss some financial things going on with their Mom that need to be taken care of. I would imagine we'll all get together sometime this weekend.

Hopefully I can get a chance to take the drone out this weekend, been a few weeks since I have flown and I would really like to fly it next weekend up at Amy's and give her a copy of the file. There are a few neat tricks the drone can do that I would like to try so it can be used in some later production.

Have yoursleves a great day.

You know it is pretty sad when you look for an image to add to the blog and you do a Google Search, and you end up stealing it from yourself from a blog 8 years ago.

Hope everyones week is going good. Hayley, Tyler, Abby and her friend are all starting to enjoy their hangout festival starting today. Hopefully they are having a great time and will for the next few days. I'm Happy to report May and Gracie are doing just fine and are enjoying themselves. Peanut is still hiding, but that's just Peanut.

Michelle's sister Danni is in town this weekend. They all have to sit down and determine a few things about her Mom's finances and what bills to pay. I would imagine there will be at least one sit down dinner among us all.

My weekend, you guessed it I'm working again all weekend. Just finishing opening up some lines that are still not opened up. More busywork than anything else.

Have yourselves a great day and the start to a great weekend.

Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a whole lot of fun.

This is an old picture of Grandma and Grandpa Hall years ago in Pittsburgh. Emmett Lynch who was our next door neighbor for years was there with them, I'm guessing Edna, Emmet's wife was the one taking this picture.

Where was this picture taken? Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. Why were they at Forbes Field, well they were there for a Baseball game. Just a typical baseball game you might ask? Not really. The big happening for the day, this was when Babe Ruth was playing his only games in Pittsburgh. If you watchany of the Babe Ruth movies, where they play the game at  the end of his career where he hit Home Runs in one of his final games at a field that was deemed impossible at the time to do so, which was Forbes Field.

Have yourself a great day

Monday

And it all starts all over without ever stopping. It is that time of the week where we take our collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone for another fun-filled week of doing whatever it is that we do to make this a better world to live in.

My week ahead includes a Doctors appointment this afternoon, it's just a typical routine checkup, nothing too in-depth just visiting my Doctor. That'll be later this afternoon, so that means I will be starting at the butt crack of dawn this morning to make sure that I can finish my work day before the appointment.

Michelle is going to go and visit her Mom this evening after work, I think her and Chris are going to start slowing down the visits a little, as she is seeming comfortable and I guess has a new room mate that she gets along with. Michelle did set her up a bird feeder and has had to refill it once for her already. Michelle said there are a number of them up there, this one is right outside of Suzanne's room where she can see it.

Hayley and Tyler managed to fly into Florida yesterday and then as they were driving to Alabama, the rental car broke down. Enterprise had to come and pick them up, take them back to the office and exchange the car for them. Hopefully, they at least got an upgrade for their inconvenience.

Today is a date of tragedy and celebration for me. It was on this day in 1977, or 45 years ago that Grandpa Hall passed away. The man most responsible for my values and upbringing left this world. On this day in 2004, I graduated from West Virginia University fulfilling a dream that he had had for me. May 16th is was and will always be a date that I remember.

Have yourselves a great day

Sunday

Here I sit once again on a quiet Sunday Morning, all the animals are all fast asleep but I anticipate Kiwi being up pretty soon as he is the early bird, but he's not too fond of worms, says they give him gas..lol

If you noticed a lot of extra traffic around town yesterday, they are still here. Hotels appear to be full and it all culminates this afternoon with the final portion of WVU's Commencement. The biggest one, the Eberly Undergraduate one starts at noon, so by later this afternoon most of the hotels will be empty and this group will all be gone for good. It'll be 18 years ago tomorrow since I walked that walk.

I had to stop over at Mom's yesterday afternoon, her Wifi wasn't working on her TV and Computer. Rebooted the router and put her Wifi password into her TV and she was all good to go. It was a pretty easy fix.

My day today? Grocery shopping and back out into the field to do some fieldwork for RTI. It's kind of a moot point, as my segments are very heavily student populated again and no one is here. It's pretty much a complete waste of time and resources in my opinion. Hey, they are paying me for it, so who is complaining.

Hayley and Tyler flew to the Florida yesterday and are now at their Air B and B east of where the concert venue is going to be.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hi ho hi ho day 27 in a row.

Saturday Morning Rumblings

Here I sit in a household full of animals, Peanut is off hiding somewhere as she is a very shy one and will not come out while Maybelline or Gracie are here. There is not interaction or fighting, she's just a spoiled cat and don't like animals invading her domain. Other than that it's pretty quiet around here this morning.

It's commencement weekend here in Morgantown. West Virginia University will grant degrees to thousands of Graduates this weekend, between last night, today and tomorrow there will be a number of hoodings and other such events for our new Graduates as they either leave the world of Academia or continue their careers further or enter into the job market. This portion of their journey has reached its final stage as they are granted their degrees in good faith. Traffic will be busy both today and tomorrow so be careful when you are on this side of town. Getting a table to go out to eat at might be challenging till Monday.

Me? My day includes me once again going out into the field to do some fieldwork for RTI both today and tomorrow. I forget how many days in a row it has been, the money is great but it is starting to wear on me with so many other things going on like Michelle's Mom and a house full of animals.

Hayley and Tyler are flying into I think some place in Florida today, they'll be down in the Gulf Shores for about a week and a half or so before they return home. They'll be attending something called the Hangout Festival, her cousin Abby and her friend will be joining them next week and all returning early the following week.

Have yourselves a great day

Big Ole Hairy Friday the 13th

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday the 13th.

We have a couple of house guests for the next couple of weeks. Gracie and Maybelline are both here as Hayley and Tyler visit the Gulf Shores for the next couple of weeks. They will be going to the Hangout Music Festival next weekend, but they are going down early and then Abby and a friend of hers is going to join them for the festival before returning home the next week. Hopefully they have a good time, they have went a few times and had to miss the last couple of years I think because of COVID and the wedding last year.

So we have a houseful of animals here with me. Roll Call. We have Kiwi the king of the birds, he will be keeping everyone else in line. There is Peanut who I don't think I will see again until our guests leave. There is Sophie, she's old fat and geriatric and don't care. There is Gracie who always has too much energy and there is Maybelline the pitbull who is just a big pillow. Then there is Michelle and of course yours truly, but no one cares about us...lol

It's going to be a long day, working, going to run to WalMart and Sams and a few chores this evening. Saying it's going to be a long day is an understatement.

It is Graduation weekend this weekend for WVU, so traffic may pick up the next couple of days before everyone clears out and this town resorts to being normal for a few months. Of course I will be out working this weekend once again, I've cleared most of my areas that are heavily student and now will concentrate on the more residential areas.

Have yourselves a great day.

This week's pic goes back to my great-niece at the Johnny Koon Lantern Launch a few years ago. We were all at Westover Park, and I think that was the last year they held it there, and I caught Kynlea giving me her very first on-camera Hall salute. Not sure if Aunt Val had anything to do with this (she did), but Kynlea seemed to really enjoy the moment.

I think this was a year that Michelle and I actually won something, although Amy and her luck managed to win 103% of the prizes being offered that year. I swear I'm having her buy my Grand Bask ticket next year...lol

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is once again behind us and we have a pretty good start to the week, now we are looking straight down the barrel of a Tuesday and you know what that means.

* It has been 21,340 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new and improved 1,000-day Calender. It's better than the 991-day calendar as it gives you a nice round number to work with.

* It has been 6,580 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. It's Graduation week at WVU, many will realize the accomplishment of their dreams this weekend as I once did.

* 5,165 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, the pizza hut is gone, the movie was horrible, but we're still together.

* 4,387 days ago I proposed to Michelle, backyard at 4:00 in the morning. Same bench she feeds the deer, groundhogs, geese, ducks, turkey's and a whole slew of birds from.

* It was 3,930 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, we poured sand into a vase said our I do's and we were hitched.

* I have now lived 1,552 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,266 days, I've now outlived him by 75 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again!!!

* I have 3,606 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. I think my Brother in Law George is either at retirement or close to retirement day.

* 280 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, I think he and the family have moved back home in the backyard.

* 236 more days to go until my Goodbye 2022 Blog is posted, it's been eventful. I have it started.

* There are 230 more shopping days left until Christmas 2022.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 210 more days.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 104 days away. I am so ready for this game, we kicking Pitts Butt. I'm just glad Kenny Pickett is now the Steelers Quarterback.

* There are 88 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eleventh Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* 76 Days until Michelle and I are in Pittsburgh to see Jimmy Buffett!!!!!

* There are only 42 days until the official start of Summer.

* I have written 6,779 blogs in the now 17 1/2 years since I started blogging. Seems like it was just yesterday that I started all of this.

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time.

* No drone flights this weekend, weather was less than favorable.

* Amy and Ralphie have stepped up to host the Memorial Day Weekend picnic. Thank you to both of them.

* Michelle is back in the office today.

* I'm working 10 hour days again this week for Duquense Light, money was too much to pass up.

* We'll be dogsitting in a couple of weeks as Hayley and Tyler take an extended vacation to Alabama once again. Gracie and May will be paying a visit starting Thursday.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and yes that does include those fun-filled things we refer to as weekends, even though some of us work through the weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone unless your name is Michelle who has the day off.

Looking at the week ahead I'm still working overtime this week, makes it nice on payday to say the least and it is something that I do enjoy. Michelle because she worked Saturday has today off and I will imagine is going to sleep in.

Tomorrow is election day here in Monongalia County, it's the primary so I need to manage to find time to get my butt out and cast my ballot. The General election will be in November, the biggest race in West Virginia will be for the newly reshaped first district since we lost one district due to Census 2000 (yes it is very important to fill out those Census questionaires). Due your duty and get out and vote tomorrow.

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy Mothers Day

Here me and my main bird Kiwi sit, we're up a little early talking about today being Mother's Day. I'm trying to get him to say Mom instead of Alexa for Michelle.

With that being said, I would like to wish all the Mothers in the world out there including mine a very Happy Mothers Day today.

I would also like to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful wife, as she is an amazing woman, wife, daughter and Mother.

I would additionally like to wish my Mother in Law Suzzane a Happy Mothers Day, even though she doesn't know who I am and thinks Michelle's still married to Richard.

Also a Happy Mothers Day to Kim, Terri, Pam, Val, Amy, and Ang who are all also very special Mothers. Each and every one of them are very special to my heart.

Mothers Day is a Holiday that actually has its origins close to here. Founded in Grafton, WV by Anna Jarvis, it is a Holiday that is unique to North Central WV.

Happy Mothers Day all.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household on a nice peaceful Saturday Morning. Kiwi is still sleeping, or at least he's not saying ALEXA ALEXA and ordering some bird food that he looks I have no idea what is playing on the TV behind me as it is basically on for noise.

This is a day that both Michelle and I are working. I'm out in the field for RTI and Michelle is at the office for the day. She's just going to take Monday off since she works today (that's how they do it), hopefully, we'll have some nicer weather that comes along by then.

Today is move-out day for the WVO Dorms. This basically means many of the students who have not already left for the summer will have to vacate today as this is the end of their lease. We'll have some peace and quiet for about three months as they are all back home and Morgantown's population takes a temporary drop in totals. Who likes the fact that there will now be significantly less traffic, I know I sure as hell do. Time for cookouts and picnics!!!!!

Have yourselves a great day

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

So what does it being Friday mean to me? I get to make a run to Walmart and Sam's club this evening after work as either Michelle or I or both of us do every Friday. I'm like clockwork with this and we usually either go out to dinner or order something to take home. What does it also mean? It also means I transition from working for one employer to working the weekend for another one. Michelle on the other hand has had her week extended another day as she is working tomorrow and will take Monday off.

Today should be the last day of finals and you'll notice that the population of Morgantown is dwindling. If they have not already left for the Summer, they will be out of the dorms tomorrow and heading back home as the Semester and school year as we know it is over with. Traffic might be a little heavy this evening, but that is the students leaving. Graduation is next weekend, but after that it is pretty much smooth sailing until August. There will be a couple Summer Sessions, but the second one is just on the books, not sure if any classes actually take place.

I am excited that the family is going to get together for a cookout in a few weeks. We don't get together nearly enough and it'll be great to spend some time with family, especially after a couple years of COVID.

Have yourselves a great day and a start of a great weekend.

This weeks pic goes back to both a happy and a sad time. Happy because Bonita and Robert both traveled from Alaska and Ohio respectively to visit Mom. Sadly because while this was not the last picture taken of the three of them together, it was one of them.

The picture was taken over at one of the churches in Westover, the Koon's had set up some kind of a dinner get-together to celebrate the evening and we all joined in and had a great time. Somewhere I have a movie file of the Koons doing a group sing for us as a little extra treat, Uncle Junior was there for that one.

Have yourselves a great day

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and yes that does include those fun-filled things called weekends that we tend to love so much. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone and get back to doing what it is that we do that makes this a better world to reside in.

Working 10 hours a day once again this week, It's pretty much the norm now as I am up early anyway and I work until I have time to start dinner before Michelle gets home. I do enjoy what I do, so that makes things a lot easier. 18 years later after I graduated and I worked in it for 4 years as an undergrad, I still love GIS.

You will notice that traffic around town is going to start to dwindle down. This is finals week for the students and they have to be vacated from all the dorms by Saturday, meaning a large portion of our most of the year population won't be here for the next few months. Most of them will be gone as the week wears on and they complete final examinations. This is my favorite time of the year, warmer weather but not too hot, trees have just come back to life and Morgantown says goodbye to about 30,000 transient students.

Looking at my agenda for the week, it's about the same as it is with any other week lately. Michelle is going in to sit with her Mom this evening; may start doing Mondays normally as Chris has something she is doing on Mondays. Michelle is scheduled to work this Saturday as the owners are away for the weekend. This means she'll either take Friday or Monday off or just stockpile her PTO time for a later use.

Have yoursleves a great day

Sunday

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, Kiwi and I are up talking about classic TV. He likes '70s music, now we are trying to get him into some very educational '70s TV. I mentioned him watching Baretta, but he's more into Lavern and Shirley. He really likes Lenny and he Squigtones for some reason.

I'm out in the field working for RTI again today. It's a rough quarter and they keep wanting to throw heavy student population areas over and over again, despite little to no success in these types of areas in this area.

The NFL Draft has concluded after three days of making a lot of college football players dreams come true. I think the Steelers had a good draft, they needed a Quarterback and the guy in their own backyard was who I thought was the best Quarterback in the draft, I just never thought we had a chance at him, and he was available when it was their turn to pick.

Grocery shopping and a few other things are on our agenda for the day before I head out to work. Not sure what Michelle's schedule is today and this week, as of press time she was napping.

Have yourselves a great day.
