Tuesday's Tidbits

 * Monday is completed, now we are starng straight down the barrel of a Tuesday and you know what that means.

* It has been 21,943 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new, and improved 1,000-day Calendar. I may have to start adjusting this soon.

* It has been 7,203 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. I do love what I do and I can see me doing this into my retirement years.

* 5,791 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together. Seems like it was just yesterday and it was the third best decision I ever made in my life.

* 5,001 days ago I proposed to Michelle in the backyard at 4:00 in the morning. She knew it was coming, and it is still the best decision I ever made in my life.

* It was 5,038 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, married by a chiropractor and feasted on food Jeanie made.

* I have now lived 2,175 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong, slowing down but still going. I am recovering though.

* Michelle has been living a clean and productive life and beat that alcohol demon 834 days ago today.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,273 days, I've now outlived him by 693 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again!

* I have 2,897 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. Who knows though, doing what I do I may never retire.

* 344 more days to go until my Goodbye 2024 Blog is posted. Hopefully I can put some better content together this year.

* There are 330 more shopping days left until Christmas 2024. You still have plenty of time to prepare and get ready.

* There are 314 days until I hit the age of 61. Yeah I know, I'm really older than 21.

* There are 263 days until Brittany and Matt enter into the bounds of matrimony.

* There are 232 more days until we go to Pittsburgh and beat the Panther's butts in their stadium.

* There are 216 more days to go until the Mountaineers will try to get some revenge here in Morgantown for last weekend when Penn State comes to Morgantown.

* There are 188 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Thirteenth Wedding Anniversary together.

* Making its debut on this week's countdown, in 123 Days Michelle and I will be traveling to Pittsburgh to see Kenney Chesney and Zack Brown at Acrisure Stadium.

* There are only 50 days to go until the next start of my favorite Season. Spring 2024. Come on Springtime, I hate this cold and winter.

* 3 more days until Phil steps to center stage once again for Groundhogs Day, that's when he tells us we will have an early spring. I haven't seen Phil too often this fall and winter.

* It has been ∞ (infinity symbol) several days that I have hated both Pitt and Penn State.

* I have written 7,447 blogs in the now 19 1/2 years plus a couple of days of being a blogger.

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. My little drone is awesome and I really like it....when I take time out to fly it.

* I think I know where I want to do my next drone flight, out by the old county graveyard whenever I get to it.

* Something tells me I should re-calibrate all my numbers in my Tuesday's Tidbits. Something tells me that about 15 years of adding and subtracting numbers I may have missed a calculation or two.

* Still playing Monopoly Go. Several family members are playing and I'm still in 9th place overall among all my friends and family. Kim, Terri and Michelle are 1,2 and 3 on my list.

*  How do you feel old? I told Michelle Todd Rungren was coming to Morgantown at the Met and she asked who is that? SMH

* Anyone got any good ground hog recipes?

* Girl scout cookies? Help this little girl meet her goal.

* How about I start doing my favorite Tic Tok of the week? This is it, you got to love cats.

* Hi ho hi ho

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and yes that does include those fn things we refer to as weekend and days off and even vacations or sick leave. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone of that thing called life and get back to doing what it is that we do for a living that makes this rock much more inhabitable.

I managed to get out a couple of times this weekend. Went to Sam's Club on Friday and went grocery shopping with Michelle yesterday for the first time in over a month. I think I am finally over this RSV and am slowly recovering. A few weeks ago for me to even carry a case of gatorade downstairs wore me out, I would sweat and my heartbeat was racing. Yesterday none of those symptoms. Still have a little bit of a cough, but other than that getting back to normal.

Nothing special on my Calender this week other than working. Despite being sick I worked 58 hours last week between the two jobs, of course I can do it from the comforts of my living room in my pajamas, so that's a big plus.

So what did I do with my day off yesterday, I watched football. What else do you think I did =)

Have a great day

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household. Kiwi and I are having a deep conversation about the changing seasons and how we are both ready for Spring. Neither one of us likes being cooped up and we both prefer warmer weather.

Grocery shopping this morning, if I go this will be the first time since before Christmas believe it or not. I've just been sick that long and now Michelle is feeling under the weather so I may be doing this solo this morning, unless Kiwi wants to come of course.

Today is the day when we find out who the two teams are that will be playing in the Super Bowl. Defending Champions Kansas City will travel to Baltimore to win the AFC Trophy and the Detroit Lions will travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers to see who will represent the NFC. If I have a favorite or a team I am cheering to win it all, it has to be Detroit. They have never been to much less won a Superbowl and the other three teams have won a combined 10. I think the city of Detroit is just due to win one, but I'm sure there will be one or two teams they will or may face that have different opinions on that.

Not much else planned for the day. Write some blogs, do the household chores and watch some football.

Have a great Sunday.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Kiwi and I are up discussing the difference between Rasters and Vectors, he says he's feeling very Geospatial.

Well I'm happy to report that I am actually starting to feel better. This has knocked me for a loop to say the very least and I am as happy as a frog on a log to be finally recovering from this.

I'm working for Parsons today, I think I'll work every Saturday while this project is ongoing and take off Sundays. Everyone needs a day off at least once a week and I work two jobs 4 days a week a full days on two days with one job or the other, you need a little bit of me time.

Other than working I don;t have anything planned, I'm not sure what Michelle is planning for the day. She will probably be running up to Rural King, but that is just me taking a bling guess.

Have yourselves a great day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

No real plans this weekend again, I will be working once again tomorrow as I did last week. I've been working for Matrix during the day on gas lines and then working for Parsons in the evening for the stuff for the Department of Defense. It keeps me busy to say the least.

Hopefully I can get out and get around a little bit this weekend. This RSV really sucks, not just a little bit but a whole freaking lot. Anyone else ready for some 80° days where you can open the doors and go and sit outside? I'm not a fan of this winter weather or being sick, I'm ready to get out and cut some grass. Ride around the yard on the mower without a care to the world drinking a nice cold glass of iced tea and listening to some music. I would love to smell the smell of fresh cut grass right now.

Have yourselves a great day.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a  lot of fun.

Since we had a little bit of snow last weekend and we're getting a little more snow than in years past, I thought I would go back about 8 years when we got a huge snowstorm back in 2016.

There was so much snow in the driveway that Michael had to have his cousin Robbie come in with his backhoe and actually remove the snow for us. You couldn't travel anywhere without bottoming out. Even Michael's Lincoln Navigator had snow up to its bumper. Poor Pearl was lost underneath all of that snow. There was a lot of snow that year to say the least if this is any indication.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that includes those fun-filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone known as life for another fun-filled week of doing what it is that we do to make this a better rock to live on.

I watched a pretty good movie that I wanted to see and have been waiting for this weekend. There is a remake prequel to Willie Wonka called Wonka that I have been wanting to see since I saw the first trailer of it a few months ago. It's more of a musical and I can see this being a Broadway play just as they did the movie. I thought it was very well done and well written as a stage presentation. I will say that it did not disappoint. I download everything on uTorrent and once it downloads I (and this is very important) move it out of the downloads folder. Leaving it in the folder it downloads to is the best way to get caught, because when you leave it there you are sharing it back out. It's a dick move, but it protects you.

Hopefully the weather warms up this week. After the bitter cold of this weekend I'm ready for some warmer, more comfortable weather. Kiwi asked me this weekend he said "Hey Human, when can I take my feathers outside and enjoy all the fresh air." I said Kiwi, it's cold as hell outside. He does have a front row seat to seeing all the wildlife, Michelle puts food out by the patio door and the deer, squirrels, birds and about any other animal stops by to say hello and grab a bit to eat. Maybe Michelle is Mother Nature?

Have a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit once again on a quiet Sunday Morning, Kiwi and I are up talking about anything and everything. He is such a chatter box, I'm just waiting for his next groundbreaking idea that he is going to come up with.

Yes I am still under the weather believe it or not. This RSV has been kicking my butt for five weeks now. It's just a waiting game, there really isn't anything you can do about it at this point other than wait it out. I'm just thankful Michelle has avoided it and has been able to pick up my slack.

I'm taking the day off, I worked a full day yesterday (doing GIS) and the day went by quickly, I actually enjoy doing this project. It pays really well and there is not much pressure on you. Just slow and steady and record your billable hours for them. Michelle got up the same time that I did yesterday, right after I turned her coffee pot on for the day, so that made it nice.

Not much going on for us today other than our normal routine. We;ll wait and see if I can go shopping this morning, I know last week I started to cough up a lung right before we were going to leave so Michelle did all the shopping as she has been doing.

Have a nice and relaxing day, watch some football or a movie and just take it easy, you've earned it.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Kiwi and I are up discussing why we have nice weather sometimes and why we have all this white crap all over the place. He's not a fan of it either. Such an intelligent bird.

Michelle is getting an extended weekend, because of yesterday's forecast they closed her office for the day. There were no scheduled appointments and travel was bad, so they decided to just close the office for the day and give everyone a day off.

I will be working today for Parsons (my other job that I actually do GIS on), I don't mind working that job at all, it's actually rather enjoyable. I do have trouble getting to work though, I may trip over the cats scratch pads on my way across the living room. Working from home has its advantages.

So what is on our agenda? Same as everyone else's, be snowed in and relax. Don't try going anywhere if you don't absolutely have to be somewhere, that way everyone stays safe.

Have yourselves a great day, stay warm and stay home.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

No plans for the weekend, I'm hoping to be feeling better but this stuff I have has lingered on much longer than I have wanted it to. To tell the truth I am probably working at least tomorrow for Parsons (doing actual GIS).

I don't think Michelle has any plans for the weekend, she is due a relaxing one as she has been very busy the past couple of months doing her thing plus picking up my slack from my illness.

Anyone ready for Spring Yet?

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic goes back to 1997 and me at the Coca-Cola 600 race in Charlotte NC. This is a picture of me with the Winston Cup, the coveted season prize that all the drivers used to try to win. Greatness was measured in how many of these you possessed. This pic was taken outside the racetrack in a tent that they had set up.

Kim, Ed and I all went to the 1997 Coca Cola 600, the year and we all had our drivers that we cheered for. I was a Dale Earnhardt fan, Kim was a Bobby Labonte fan and I think Ed was a Bill Elliot fan I seem to recall.

Happy Birthday Michelle Dawn Hall

I would like to take this opportunity to wish what I truly believe as the best wife in the Universe a Very Happy Birthday today.

This is my soulmate and the absolute love of my life. I do not know what I would do without her, she is an absolutely amazing woman.

Mother, Wife, Daughter, Grandmother,  Sister, Aunt, Cat Mom, and Bird Mom are things she does and does very well. I have to say that I am very lucky to be able to witness all that she does on a daily basis.

She is lucky to share this Birthday with her Sister Chris who is also celebrating a birthday today. So if you see either of these lovely ladies, make sure you take a little bit of time out and wish each of them a very Happy Birthday today.

Michelle, I Love You with all my heart and I truly appreciate everything that you do. Happy Birthday.

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet but full household. My wonderful wife has returned from East Liverpool and the cats and Kiwi are all happy that she is home. I have to tell you the truth, so am I. Kiwi kept asking me where is Mom and when is she coming home.

I am still suffering from the RSV. I was able to get it Friday evening to make the Sam's Club Run (boy was that tough on me) as well as get out yesterday morning to dry laundry. It was about all I could do as those were the first trips outside the household since before Christmas. I'm on the road to recovery, but this is a long slow road.

As I indicated yesterday I am back to working two jobs as I started working for Parsons again this week. I worked there last Summer and early fall until the project got put on hold. I had my Federal Laptop already, so all I had to do was just simply login from that and go. Parsons is a company I would love to work for and this is slowly getting my foot in the door, my managers like me.

Are you missing your Christmas Cookies? Well Girl Scout Cookies are back on the market and I know a little girl who is trying to sell twice as much this year as she did last year. Ryleigh is attempting to sell 400 boxes this year, so if you are going to order, please follow this link so she gets credit for the sales.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household, Kiwi and I are up doing the guy talk kind of things. He likes to have these intellectual conversations in the morning wondering why when you eat something pleasant smelling your farts don't resemble that smell and kind of stink. And by your farts we are talking mine, because Kiwi insists he doesn't fart, he poops but he doesn't fart.

Michelle is up in East Liverpool today helping Julie prepare for a baby shower that is going on later this afternoon. She went up yesterday after work and stayed overnight, that way she could get an early start in setting things up today. I'm at home holding down the fort with my aviary and feline friends.

I did start back to work this week with Parsons, the company I worked for last Summer that has a Department of Defense contract. I've spent a couple days this week getting all my passwords reset and connecting to databases. With a four-month layoff and a secure network, things are no longer accessible to me. I would have worked today and tomorrow, but I need IT support to resolve an issue so I'll be off until Monday. I'm still working full-time for Atmos, but Monday is a Holiday for them and it is a longer-term thing as opposed to a six-month thing.

Would you believe it has been 4 weeks and I am still battling this RSV, I'm feeling much better and am actually getting out of the house a little nit, but this thing has kicked my butt.

What's on my agenda today? Kiwi and I will be watching some football, telling jokes and doing guy things as the felines will just lay around being cats.

It's actually going to be a three day weekend for me as Monday is MLK Jr Day and we are off that day. I get to make up for it by going back to 10 hour days next week, but I don't mind. I would almost prefer to do 4 10's.

Well I am on my own this weekend. Michelle is planning on leaving work today at noon and going to East Liverpool Ohio to stay overnight to help Julie out with Emily's Baby Shower this weekend. There is a lot to get done and Michelle is going up to lend a hand and help out and get everything set up. Hopefully I will be fully recovered by today so I can get out this evening and do what I need to do for the household.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic was from a couple of years ago at Hovatters Zoo. If you know Michelle you know she loves Giraffes, she has stayed up numerous nights watching Youtube waiting for a baby giraffe to be born, to all the stuffed animals she has. She just loves giraffes.

We were at Hovatters a couple of years ago and she was having the giraffes take the carrots she was feeding them out of her mouth, they of course complied. They had a new baby giraffe born at Hovatters this past fall, so we'll probably have to make a trip up there this spring to say hello.

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy Birthday Sandra Irene Bell

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Mother Sandra Irene Bell a very Happy Birthday today.Today she celebrates her 20th anniversary of her 40th anniversary of her 21st Birthday, yeah that's 81 in other words.

Not sure what her and Gerald's or anyone else's  plans are for today, I'm hearing they are planning on writing an award winning no novel on the ins and outs of her being able to hear and not hear.

If you happen to see Sandra Irene today, take a little time out to wish her the happiest of birthdays. Happy Birthday Mom

* I have 2,918 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. Who knows though, doing what I do I may never retire.

* 358 more days to go until my Goodbye 2024 Blog is posted. Didn't I just post one of these?

Back to 8 Hours and Still Sick

All good things must come to an end, that includes those fun filled things everyone else enjoyed called weekends. For me however I am still recovering from this RSV. Michelle is a trooper as she has been doing all the running around and shopping that we usually do as a team. Anyways, let's stick those collective noses back onto the grindstone for another week.

I am back to working 8 hour shifts this week, but next Monday is MLK Day and we'll be off work so I will go back to 10 hour shifts that week to make up the hours. The life of an independent contractor.

I have some additional training tomorrow at work, not sure what it is but I think it is a review as to how we install and record gas service lines. Should be all kinds of fun.

The College Football National Championship game is tonight. The game starts at 7:30 so I can watch a good bit of it or all of it if it is a good game and go to bed if it is not. I'm thinking Michigan to win it all, but one never nows.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Kiwi is up of course as he must want his worms because that early bird is always up before everyone else. He's fortunate as him and the cats are the only ones who are not sick.

Michelle developed a case of the blahs yesterday as well. I'm so ready to be over this damned illness, RSV has kicked my butt like nothing I have ever had before. It has been three weeks which is the same time I was out with double pneumonia 34 years ago when I was hospitalized and sick as a dog. If you want stock advice, I have been buying Gatorade, Pedialyte, and Musinex like it has been going out of style, so any of those parent companies would be a good investment.

I am going to try to get out and do some grocery shopping this morning, Michelle has just been doing too much as I have been recovering from this crap, maybe it is time for me to periodically get out if I am up to it. We already have our menu planned for the week (which we do every week) so it's just a matter of going and getting it. We'll have to wait and see. I helped Michelle bring some things in Friday evening and even that just wore me completely out to where I got into a coughing for and ended up extracting something from my lungs.

I definitely will not be making it to Ryleigh's Birthday Party today, I still have this congestion in my chest and the last thing I want to do is infect a roomful of people and young children with this crap.

On a side note, it was on this day 131 years ago that a man very influential in my life was born. Happy Birthday Grandpa Hall.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday Morning Rumblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Kiwi and I are up discussing the finer things in life like, what seeds he prefers and 1if he prefers pooping on the blue bedding or the white bedding. Questions that have kept me up at night all week long.

Speaking up being up all night, I am still down with this damned RSV and I have had it for going on three weeks now. I missed Christmas, I missed New Year's and here I am still down with this crap. Yes I have done a couple of COVID tests and they come back negative, so I know it is not COVID, but this has limited my sleep during some nights this week to 30-minute intervals if I have been lucky. I am pounding Gatorade, Pedialyte, and about anything else that has electrolytes to try to stay hydrated. I've have been running a constant fever for about three weeks now. I'm just so ready to be over this thing and start feeling normal again. Michelle has been a godsend this entire time, I do not know what I would have done or would do without her.

I'm not sure if I will be getting into much if anything this weekend, Ryleigh's Birthday Party is tomorrow but if I still have this I don't want to infect a room full of young children.

If you haven't noticed, I started to change my sidebar around a little bit. Gone is the Twitter Widget that used to link to a twitter account that I really never used, It's called X now and if they don't want to give access to the widget, well then goodbye to them. I'm thinking about exploring some other widgets or just eliminating the ones no one visits.

Finishing up 4 10's today to make up for Monday, I kind of like the 4 10's if they would let me work them every week. Give me a three-day weekend every weekend, that would be amazing, but don't see that happening.

Ang and Moke are having Ryleigh's 8th Birthday Party this weekend on Sunday, depending on if I ever get over this RSV we will try to make it. I don't want to get anyone sick and this has been going on for three weeks now.

Have yourselves a great day

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a  lot of fun.

I have to be honest, I don't know the time frame or the origin of this picture. I do know it is a picture of me and my nephew Moke taken at my Dad's house. Using simple logic I am going to put this in the early 1990's and that is about as well as I can to for pinpointing a specific time frame.

Both of us had hair at the time, I actually had more facial hair than him as well. I'm wearing a sweatshirt and long pants, so you know it wasn't summertime. Christmas maybe?

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy New Years 2024

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne?
CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup!
and surely I’ll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine†;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend!
And give me a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS
