Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday!

Looking for a little bit of High School Football  Action?  3-1 Morgantown is on the road trying to avenge last weeks loss. They will be traveling to Wheeling to play Wheeling Park tonight. 3-2 University High is at home and will ho playing host to Buchanon Upshire. 3-1 Trinity is on the road and will be taking on Calhoun County. 3-1 Clay Battelle will be at home taking on Webster County. Good luck to all Monongalia County Teams, let's go 4-0 this weekend.

With Hurricane Ian hitting Florida this week, especially in the Fort Myers area, I called and checked on Patty to see if she was OK.  I was unable to get through to her, but I spoke with her Neice Kelly and she indicated that both Patty and Judy are safe and doing good.

No big plans for Michelle and I this week, just doing a little bit of planning and probably watching the Mountaineers tomorrow night as they travel to take on the University of Texas at 7:30 tomorrow night. That means the day is all ours, but something tells me that we will be seeing the after effects of Ian coming into West Virginia. (meaning it is going to be wet).

Have yourselves a great day.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a whole lot of fun.

This weeks pic is from all the way back to last Summer, specifically on Hayley's wedding day on Chincoteague Island where she was married. Notice a couple of the wild ponies that were in the background, who just happened to show up to her wedding.

This is obviously a picture of the lovely bride and her beautiful Mother on the beach. I have to say how that all played out just warmed my heart, you could not have planned for a pack of wild ponies to just show up and wait for your wedding to be over before they started to mingle with the wedding party.

Have yourselves a great day

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is over it was a good weekend to say the least, now we are concentrating on a Tuesday. Can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* It has been 21,453 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new, and improved 1,000-day Calender. I do have to say I start to feel my age of older 21.

* It has been 6,713 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. 18+ years ago and still doing GIS and enjoying every minute of it.

* 5,298 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, the pizza hut is gone, the movie was 10,000 BC and it sucked to high heaven. She didn't care though and I for one am glad she didn't.

* 4,520 days ago I proposed to Michelle in the backyard at 4:00 in the morning.

* It was 4,063 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, we poured sand into a vase and said our I do's and we were hitched. Nice round number.

* I have now lived 1,685 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,266 days, I've now outlived him by 208 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again! We did find him, just never had the honor of a face-to-face meeting.

* I have 3,473 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. Who knows though, doing what I do I may never retire.

* There are 353 more days until the Pitt Panthers bring their butts to Morgantown so we can extract some revenge on our game this year. Payback Kitties. Although I hope there are some changes on our end.

* There are 341 more days to go until the Mountaineers travel to Happy Valley and get another shot at an old time Rival, Penn State

* There are 311 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Twelfth Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* There are 174 days until my favorite season, Spring of 2023

* 141 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, You know I have not seen him or the family recently.

* 97 more days to go until my Goodbye 2022 Blog is posted, it's been eventful, and looking for more fun stuff to post. It's going to get interesting in the next couple of months.

* There are 90 more shopping days left until Christmas 2022, everyone is putting their Christmas stuff out already.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 70 more days.

* I have written 6,929 blogs in the now 18 years plus a couple of days of being a blogger.

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. My little drone is awesome and I really like it....when I take time out to fly it.

* No Drone flights this weekend, I'm seriously a slacker, my sister Kim flew hers at the beach last week.

* Still working 10-hour day for Duquense Light, busy busy busy, and still loving it.

* How about I start doing my favorite Tic Tok of the week? This is this weeks tic tok, it's from Ninja Dave and his Ninja School. Don't go full Judy on anyone.

* My nagging cough is still hanging around, but it is getting better slowly. It comes and goes and comes and goes.

* Anyone ever been to Fredericksburg Virginia?

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that does indeed include these fun-filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is once again time to put away our relaxing for a few days and get back to doing what it is that makes this a better rock to live on. It's Monday, let's do this once again.

Looking at my week ahead, it appears to be pretty much uneventful, unless you take into consideration that two cats and a green cheek conure rule the roost here and we humans are their servants. I swear that's how they all feel.

Michelle is going to visit her mom tonight after work, she (her Mom) was sick last week so there was no visitation from anyone. They have to make sure that they quarantine anyone who is sick, so as to not get anyone else in the facility sick. Michelle did try to visit last Thursday, but Suzanne was sleeping.

Does it seem like it's Fall to anyone? We are in the Fall Season as of last Thursday, Summer has come and gone and the days aren't as hot as they used to be. The cats both seem to have gotten old all of a sudden and neither one of them wants to frolic outside anymore. don;t worry though, Kiwi keeps us all entertained.

Have yourselves a great day and the start of a great week.

Sunday

Here Kiwi and I sit on a quiet Sunday Morning, Peanut and Sophie are both off doing cat things and Peanut and I are discussing why donuts have holes in them and Kiwi is telling me they should fill that void with sunflower seeds. Bird cook, go figure.

Had a good day yesterday, stopped off at Mom and Geralds to visit Lucy. Lucy was having some health issues this week that needed veterinary attention, so we stopped to visit. Of course Mom has an Android tablet that they were giving to everyone there, she said they were free and she wanted hers. I set it up for her and connected it to her internet and logged her Facebook in, plus downloaded the TicTok for her to keep her entertained.

Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get some new ice trays, but that store has went downhill and the ice trays they had were overpriced and sucked. So we went to Target to get some and we are quite happy with them. They are wider and heavier than the ones we used to use, so I'm hoping that means more ice.

Today we are going to be doing a little bit of grocery shopping and no other plans other than that. Maybe a little paperwork and research on my part, I'm 7 weeks from a major life change with a big announcement coming very soon. Most of you already know, I've already signed my offer letter, I just have to get a few things taken care of work-related before the transition.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday

Here I sit yet once again on a quiet Saturday Morning, Kiwi is up and I think he is trying to master origami and baking at the same time. I think he is making some kind of bird pie out of sunflower seeds and peanut shells. He is such an innovative bird.

Well the Mountaineers are off today, they played Thursday night and beat Virginia Tech 33-10 to once again bring the Black Diamond Trophy back to Morgantown once again where it will reside for some time as the two teams have no scheduled games against each other in the future, but I'm sure that can always change. It was a solid effort and our biggest win ever in Blackburg.

So what is on my agenda for this morning? An early morning trip to the Laundromat to dry clothes. I like to get there early on Saturday Morning before all the students start to show up. I can get in, get it over with and get out before the Saturday crowd starts to appear. That give me my entire day to myself to do what I want to do.

Nothing planned for this weekend other than doing some research and starting to prepare some forms that need to be filled out for the near future. Other than that the weekend is pretty much mine.

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy Birthday Kaiden Dalton

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Great-Nephew Kaiden Dalton a very Happy Birthday today. He is a growing boy and is definitely starting to catch up to me in age, give it another 7 more years and he'll tie me in age at 21.

Kaiden is a very good and well-behaved young man and it is actually an honor to be around him. Not sure what Amy and Ralph have planned for this young man to celebrate his birthday, but we all know it will be special.

He's a great kid, worked alongside his Dad building their home as well as the addition that they are putting up,  and has a bright future ahead of him. He has all the tools and a good upbringing.

Not sure what Kaiden is up to today, other than working towards his Doctorate in Engineering or something like that (yeah I know it's early), but if you happen to see Kaiden today, make sure you wish him the Happiest of Birthdays.

Happy Birthday, Kaiden.

Are you looking for a little bit of High School Football action tonight? Undefeated Morgantown is on the road this week at Musselman in the Game of the Week. University High is also on the road this week against Fairmont Senior. Clay Battelle is at home this week playing Tygarts Valley and Trinity is on the road at Calhoun County. Good Luck to all the teams in action tonight, let's see if Monongalia County teams can go 4-0 this evening.

Not really any college or Professional action I'm too interested in this weekend. Both WVU and the Pittsburgh Steelers played last night (and as of this blog being written the games have not been played yet).

With that being said I'm not sure of mine and Michelle's plans for the weekend. We do have a big announcement coming up and most people already know about it. I'll make that announcement on a future blog with some more in-depth details as to everything.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic is from a few years ago, I was in Las Vegas for work. I had to do a presentation on 3M Marker Balls  at the Nuclear Lab out there. I was out a couple of days early, and I decided the day before to head down to the Las Vegas Strip to see if I could find Elvis. I could not find Elvis anythere.

I did grab this photo op as I was getting ready to walk into the Luxor  and it's big Pyramid type of entrance at the front of it. Yes you walk in right between the paws. I did a live video as I was driving

It was a memorable trip, a place that I would like to return to someday and take my wife.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that does indeed include these fun-filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is once again time to put away our relaxing for a few days and get back to doing what it is that makes this a better rock to live on. It's Monday, let's do this.

First of all, thank you to Kiwi for coaching the defense and pitching a shutout this weekend, then turning around and writing my blog yesterday. He is such an awesome bird. Coach Brown sent over a big bag of Millet as a thank you for all his hard work this week.

We did manage to get a lot done this weekend, cut grass on Saturday and even found three bars of Fels Naptha to build up our stock of it a little bit. We use it and keep it as a poison ivy deterrent, this stuff is supposed to do wonders.

This is going to be a strange week for me football wise, the WVU Mountaineers travel to Blacksburg Virginia to take on Virginia Tech on Thursday evening. This will be our second Thursday Night game this year, and t make matters worse the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing at Cleveland Thursday night as well. Who in their right mind scheduled both of these games on the same night competing with each other. Needless to say I'm going to be tired on Friday.

Have yourselves a great day.

Kiwi's Korner

Good Chirping Morning my human fans. I had a talk with Dad yesterday and told him to take today off as I give you a bird's perspective of what is going on. So now I am at his keyboard just pecking away and proving that I am a better author than he is.

I did it, West Virginia Football needed my input and I flew to the occasion. I told the defense yesterday that if they did not pitch a shut out, I was going to follow each and every one of them home and call all my aviary cousins to poop all over the place until they understood that I was serious.

They did give up a long kickoff return for a Touchdown after their first touchdown, but dammit I can't coach the defense AND special teams. I was only contracted to coach the defense and do you know how many points my defense that I coached let up yesterday? Zero, nada one. Special teams was responsible for their Touchdown and I had nothing to do with it as I was talking to the defense that was getting ready to hit the field. I'll give them a Mulligan for this game.

Anyways the Offense was in tune and my Defense was perfect in the 65-7 drubbing of Towson. I'm taking any and all the credit, I was able to get a birds eye view of all aspects of the game, other than them giving up a kickoff return for a touchdown. I only have two wings, I can't be everywhere all the time.

I'm holding out to renegotiate my contract for more seeds and millet. Then again I can fly and all you humans can't.

Happy Birthday Calvin McClain

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Nephew Calvin a very Happy Birthday today.

Don't ask me how old he is all I know is that all of my Nephews and Nieces have passed me up in age and I'm still only 21 (he's 27) Calvin is someone Michelle and I have watched grow up and mature more than any other family member since we have been together.

He has matured into a fine young man and now has a beautiful wife to share his life with. I'm not sure what Jeanetta or even my sister Pam have planned for him today, but I will say it'll be memorable no matter what it may be. It has been a real honor watching this young man grown up into the man that he is today.

If you happen to see Calvin today, make sure that you wish him a very Happy Birthday today. Happy Birthday Calvin.

Saturday Morning Rambling

Here Kiwi and I sit (Yes, this is Kiwi in his hut) on an early Saturday Morning. He has been up analyzing game film all night for Coach Brown to use this afternoon. He said the Offense is good and he really concentrated on trying to help the Defense stop someone. He is a Master of all trades and he said he is going to demonstrate it today by calling the defensive plays for the Mountaineers.

It's game day once again, the Mountaineers play host to Towson this afternoon at 1:00. If you watched last week's game, you are going to have to watch it in a similar fashion as it is once again on ESPN+, which is a subscription service. This is the game that the Mountaineers should win easily and we should get some repetitions from a lot of the backups. It's all Big XII games for the remainder of the season after today.

I will once again be watching and hoping that the total disaster of last week will never happen again, hopefully, we can put together a good game where everyone is on the same page. If not Kiwi will fly over to the stadium and start pooping on some people to get their attention.

Since it is a home football game, traffic is going to be heavier and it's going to be tricky getting around this part of town, so allow yourself some extra travel time.

Have yourselves a great day and Let's Go Mountaineers.

I downloaded the new IOS 16 on my iPhone, the picture to the right was one that I played around with. If gives you the ability to capture certain features in a photo and use them in another application. I can see where this is going to be very useful in the near future, I just need to learn to stitch photos together.

Looking for a little bit of High School Football? Well the #3 ranked and undefeated Morgantown High Mohigans are on the road this week to do battle with #6 Hedgesville. #11 University High plays host to Wheeling Park at home. Clay Battelle travels to Beallsville Ohio and Trinity plays host to Hancock (Md) this evening. Good luck to all four local High School teams as they are set to do battle this evening.

No plans for Michelle and I this weekend, but once again it is a home football game for WVU. Towson is in town to take on the Mountaineers tomorrow at 1:00 PM. The game will once again be on ESPN+ (same way you watched it last week) which is a subscription service. This should be the one game the Mountaineers should win easily this year.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic is one that I know that I have done once or twice already, it was a very significant day in my life. It was after my very first day of college, I was living with Nick and Terri at the time and I went out on the back deck to do some reading that was required for a Psychology class.

What is kind of rare about this picture, it was about a year or so late that I had actually quit smoking, so this is one of the very few pictures that were ever taken when I am smoking a cigarette. It was the first day of the next chapter of my life.

Have yourselves a great day

Monday Morning

All good things must come to an end before we can start a new beginning. Last week and weekend are officially over with, and now it is time to set our sights on new goals and accomplish new things. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone to do what it is that we do for a living to make this a better world to live in.

I'm not going to rehash Saturday Night's fiasco when WVU lost in Overtime to Kansas. A season that I thought was going to be successful after the loss to Pitt, turned into an absolute nightmare. We are 0-2 and there are 10 games left, we are now according to ESPN underdogs in 9 of those 10 games. Only this week's warm-up game is the only one we are predicted to win. It's pretty dismal and with the effort, I saw Saturday Night, we may be at the lowest point in the program since I can't remember when. Disappointed is an absolute understatement.

On to this week, there is nothing out of the ordinary on my calendar, but that can always change in a heartbeat. I'm not sure if Michelle has anything going on or not, there is a Doctors appointment for her Mom on Tuesday.

Other than that it's going to be a typical Monday and workweek. Let's all get to it and change the world to make it a better place.

Have a great day

My Blog is a Legal Adult

It all started 18 years ago to day. A guy I worked with made the statement that he was a grogger not a blogger and I had no idea what he was talking about. I knew what a grogger was as he was a beer drinker and it was kind of slang for saying that they liked beer. A Blogger on the other hand, I had no idea what it was so I researched it.

It turns out a blogger was something short for a web log, or a journal so to speak. My sister Kim had done a few of them like a diary on her old website where she would post her thoughts for the day. Google had a website that you may have heard of, it was called Blogger. A place where you could put your thoughts on the day on the internet. It gave you a number of options to design and even had a number of templates readily available, plus you could actually embed HTML into your posts. This was actually something I was pretty proficient with as I used to design my own web pages and I had to write out the code because I started doing it with an old WebTV, which I was actually one of the first 5,000 people to have one.

So on September 11, 2004 I decided to create a Blogger account (this one) and post my very first Blog Post. I had no idea what would become of this new venture, but looking back it is something that I am very thankful that I did.

The last 18 years has seen me go from job to job, it saw me meet my wonderful wife and get married, it helped me find my long-lost brother Jonathan, it has said goodbye to family members and welcomed the births of new ones. It has basically been a chronological and searchable online point of reference about my life and the things around it. It is a documentation of my thoughts and the loved ones around me.

So for the last 18 years, I have averaged 1.05357686454 blog posts a day to give me my 6,911 of my current count. As a point of reference, my blog is less than 2 months younger than my great niece Erica and she's graduating High School this year.

My Blog is now old enough to Vote,

Have yourselves a great day and here's to the next 18 years of blogging.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here Kiwi and I sit in a quiet household, we're up discussing his Kiwi Gnat Anialator 5000 patent, I told him that they said it's just a craftsman shop vacuum, now he wants to hire a lawyer to protect his intellectual property rights. Says they stole it from him and called it a vacuum.

On today's activities. I'm heading out early this morning and drying laundry as I do every week. It's a home football game day so I want to jump ahead of the crowd so that I can get this done before the I Need Tickets guys to flood the streets looking for tickets. I'll get done what I need to get done today early and then go home and avoid all the chaos that is a home game here in Morgantown.

The Mountaineers play Kansas this evening at 6:00 PM on ESPN+. This is a subscription service on top of your regular paid by cable ESPN. It gives you access to all  the content. I know Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN+ have a bundle that are not that expensive, I already have that bundle so I will be able to watch the game. I'm not sure if there are any other options.

It should be a good game, even though we lost to Pitt Last week, I came away from the game really optimistic about this years team. They are going to be a tough team to beat this year with JT Daniels behind center. I know we have played one game and lost it, but I have a sneaking suspicion this will be Neal Brown's Best team to date at WVU. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but I like how this is coming together.

Have yourselves a great day and enjoy the game.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Summer Concert Series at Ruby Park, it has finished up for the Summer and brought in some really nice acts this year.

Looking for a little bit of High School Football? Well my 2-0 and undefeated Morgantown High Mohigans are off this week with a Bye after a couple pretty impressive wins to start the season. University High who dropped last week's contest is at home against 2-0 Brooke. 1-1 Trinity who also dropped their decision last week is also at home against Millersport Ohio this evening. Clay Battelle who lost their opener last week will be on the road to Whetzel County to take on Valley. Good luck to all three teams tonight, let's bring home 3 wins tonight.

The Mountaineers are at home this weekend to play Kansas. The game starts tomorrow at 6:00 PM on ESPN+ for those of you who subscribe. Traffic should be a little extra heavy both this evening and tomorrow around town. Allow yourselves a little extra travel time to get around town.

Have yourselves a great day and a great weekend.

For this weeks pic I thought I would dig down a little deeper, look someplace where I had photos but didn't really look at. So where did I go, I took all the pictures off of my original iPhone years ago and stuck them in with my regular pictures.

This is a picture of Michelle and her Grandmother Ruth, GiGi as she has been referred to many times in this blog. I think this is when we all went up and surprised her for one of her Birthdays (she is well into her 90's here and almost made it to 100 years old). We all went up and she didn;t know we were coming. She had went to a hair appointment or something and we were lined up in the street leading to her house. It really was a special day.

Have yourselves a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* My nice and relaxing but very productive three day weekend is completed, now it's time for us all to get back to doing what it is that we do for a living. Can't think of a better reason that that to do a tidbits.

* It has been 21,452 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new, and improved 1,000-day Calender. I do have to say I starting to feel my age of older 21.

* It has been 6,692 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. 18+ years ago and still doing GIS and enjoying every minute of it.

* 5,277 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, the pizza hut is gone, the movie was 10,000 BC but she still hasn't held that against me. Best date of my life, it never ended.

* 4,499 days ago I proposed to Michelle in the backyard at 4:00 in the morning.

* It was 4,042 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, we poured sand into a vase and said our I do's and we were hitched. Nice round number.

* I have now lived 1,664 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,266 days, I've now outlived him by 187 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again! We did find him, just never had the honor of a face-to-face meeting.

* I have 3,494 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. Who knows though, doing what I do I may never retire.

* There are 373 more days until the Pitt Panthers bring their butts to Morgantown so we can extract some revenge on our game this year. Payback Kitties.

* There are 362 more days to go until the Mountaineers travel to Happy Valley and get another shot at an old time Rival, Penn State

* There are 332 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Twelfth Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* There are 195 days until my favorite season, Spring of 2023

* 162 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, You know I have not seen him or the family recently.

* 118 more days to go until my Goodbye 2022 Blog is posted, it's been eventful, and looking for more fun stuff to post.

* There are 111 more shopping days left until Christmas 2022.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 91 more days.

* I have written 6,906 blogs in the now 17 11 1/2/12ths (eleven and a half twelfths, what am I thinking) nearly 18 years since I started blogging. Seems like it was just yesterday that I started all of this. Saturday will mark the 18th Anniversary of me starting to blog and creating this historical day by day look at my life.

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. My little drone is awesome and I really like it....when I take time out to fly it.

* No Drone flights this weekend, I'm seriously a slacker.

* After the yardwork this weekend and the shower with the fels naptha, no new poison ivy to report.

* Still working 10-hour day for Duquense Light, busy busy busy, and still loving it.

* In case you didn't know, Michelle likes regular pringles. Me? I just hate snow...just in case you didn't know.

* How about I start doing my favorite Tic Tok of the week? This is this weeks, I really enjoy this guys tic toks,. He just goes to Facebook market place and finds funny dialogs and acts them out.

* My nagging cough is still hanging around, but it is getting better slowly.

* Do you believe that it is finally NFL football season already!!!!!!

* Have yourselves a great day.

* Hi ho hi ho

Labor Day

Here I sit on a quiet Monday morning, Kiwi is even still sleeping and I'm wondering why I am up. I'm off today and Kiwi is even going to sleep in. No early morning discussions about him trying to get a patent on his Kiwi Gnat Anialator 5000 that he wants.

So what are my plans for day 3 of my three-day weekend? Pretty much nothing, we've gotten everything we wanted to do this weekend already done. We parboiled our corn yesterday and froze 15 baggies to use later in the year or next year. We made a trip to Harry's and stocked up, got the grass cut, and now we are just taking it easy until Tuesday Morning.

You have to love the days you can sleep in, you have to love the days where there is absolutely nothing that you have to do, you have to love the days where your biggest highlight is going to be a nap, and that is all today. You know, sometimes you just need a day like that to sleep in and have absolutely zero plans for the day other than doing my semi-weekly shaving of the Mellon atop of my shoulders. I can even wait to do that to be honest with you...lol

Enjoy your Labor Day, I hope everyone makes some special memories and goes into tomorrow nice and refreshed and relaxed.

Sunday

Kiwi and I are up having another one of our intelligent conversations like we usually do. He really is starting to say "Alexa" and followed by "Play Bird Sounds" which is something that we used to loop for him when we had him in the bedroom. Out in the living room, he likes to interact with everyone.

We did manage to get out grass cut yesterday morning, Michelle cut as I ran the weed eater and we knocked it out in nothing flat this time. We did learn after a couple of weeks ago, to avoid Poison Ivy come in and shower and scrub with Fels Naptha and scrub pretty good. I know it is laundry soap, but it is made of an ingredient that will remove the poison ivy oils, unlike regular soap. A number of people in a safety meeting at Duquense Light were talking about it. It's about removing the urushiol

After cutting grass and ridding our bodies of urushiol we headed up north to Harry's. We were running low on Hamburger so we made our trip to Harry's to get some. If you have a freezer, they have the best hamburger that you can either get loose or in one-pound packages. When you buy 10 lbs or more it's only $4.50 a pound. If you had a hamburger at Amy's this summer when we did the memorial day cookout, that's the same meat. Picked up a few other things, Hot Sausage (the stuff everyone complimented at Christmas time) and some beef tips.

From there, we decided we love fresh corn, especially in the winter. A few times we have purchased a bit of it, parboiled it and froze it in little packages. It's the best way to preserve that summer corn on the cob taste that you just can't get with frozen ears from the supermarket. Yesterday we also went to Mal's and purchased a couple dozen ears Check out their website for when and where they are open. . They are planning on having their stands set up until November this year and I highly recommend them.  Today's activities include us shucking a couple of dozen ears, parboiling and removing the corn from the cob and freezing it. Kiwi wants to help, but I think he would eat what he peels.

Have yourselves a great day, our menu is loaded into our Evernote, the app we always use for menu planning and a wide array of other thing, so now it's a time to do the weekly grocery shopping.

Oh and Pitt still Eats Shitt

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household, Kiwi and I are still discussing the backyard brawl from Thursday night, I though we had them but we ended up losing the game. Today is the first of Michelle and my three-day weekend.

No big plans for us today, going to need to cut grass and we're talking about going and getting from fresh corn on the cob and bringing it home and preparing and freezing it for the winter. We used to do it all the time where Michelle would parboil the corn and then we would take it off the cobb and then package it up and throw it in the freezer for the winter. You can still taste the difference when you do that compared to anything you buy in the stores.

I may watch some college football today, and by watch college football I am insinuating that I may lay down on the couch or recliner and get comfortable and pretend to watch some game that I really don't care about while I fall asleep. I stayed up late Thursday night and need to catch up on my lost beauty sleep.

Speaking of the Backyard Brawl, even though we lost the game I still saw a lot of promise. JT Daniels is the real deal and shows a great deal of poise in the pocket and is truly a field general that this team needs. There were a few other pleasant surprises, but I think overall we're going to be a solid football team. I'm excited to see them play this year.

Have yoursleves a great day today, make the most of it.

Big Ole Hairy Three Day Weekend

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday and the start of a three day weekend!!!!!

Looking for a little bit of free entertainment tonight, well the Ruby Summer Concert Series is winding down, but it is not done yet. Del Castillo  will be playing this evening at 8:00. There is an opening act at 6:30.

Looking for a little bit of High School Football action? All Monongalia County teams won last week and are undefeated on the season. There should be a really good game tonight at Pony Lewis Field as the Morgantown Mohigans take on Bridgeport. University High is on the road once again this week to play Parkersburg South. Trinity travels to Bridgeport Ohio to play and Clay Battelle travels to East Hardy tonight, this will be their first game of the season as last weeks was cancelled.

Have Yourselves a great day.

Lets get this party started Hi ho hi ho

This week I think I am going to do a self-explanatory video of our year 2015. I only did one year of this kind of video where I reflected the whole year in one video using video clips. Hope you enjoy it.
