Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a whole lot of fun.

This weeks pic is of my favorite daughter Hayley. A beautiful young woman who got married last summer in Delaware. This is not one of my pictures, and it was taken after she was already hitched, but later that evening and closer to where we were staying.

The entire weekend was absolutely magical. From the time we arrived until the time we packed up and went home, it was all very special. This picture is probably one of my favorites, the background, the lighting, everything was absolutely perfect.

Have yourselves a great day

Tuesday's Tidbits

 * Monday is once again behind us and we have a pretty good start to the week, sounds like a tidbits day.

* First the big announcement. Michelle's Mom Suzanne fell about six weeks ago and had some serious health issues. When Michelle has been going to Pittsburgh, she has been going to Allegheny General to visit with her Mom. The trips just got shorter, much shorter as she was moved yesterday to Encompass here on Van Voorhis Road. Or less than half a mile from her home.

* It has been 21,298 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new and improved 1,000 day Calender. It's better than the 991-day calendar as it gives you a nice round number to work with.

* It has been 6,538 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. Still love what I do and I guess that makes a big difference. Is it really going on 18 years since I Graduated?

* 5,123 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, the pizza hut is gone, the movie was horrible, but we're still together.

* 4,345 days ago I proposed to Michelle, she was expecting it as we had already bought the engagement ring and it was sitting in the safe.

* It was 3,888 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, we poured sand into a vase said our I do's and we were hitched.

* I have now lived 1,510 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,266 days, I've now outlived him by 33 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again!!!

* I have 3,634 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do.

* 310 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, I think he and the family have moved back home in the backyard.

* 278 more days to go until my Goodbye 2022 Blog is posted, it's been eventful. I have it started.

* There are 272 more shopping days left until Christmas 2022.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 252 more days.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 146 days away. I am so ready for this game.

* There are 130 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Eleventh Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* 118 Days until Michelle and I are in Pittsburgh to see Jimmy Buffett!!!!!

* There are only 84 days until the official start of Summer.

* I have written 6,735 blogs in the now 17 1/2 years since I started blogging. Seems like it was just yesterday that I started all of this.

* Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. Hell, I should just look into another one.

* Speaking of looking into another one, I may have found one that may be more suitable for me.

* Lucy has been to the vet and is updated on all of her shots, got her a harness, and has her scheduled to get the mop shaved (Groomed).

* We do need to do a Memorial Day picnic. Whether it be at someone's house or just go grab a few picnic tables someplace.

* Kim and Terri will be visiting DC later this week. It will be Terri's first trip ever to DC, so she is in for an exciting trip.

* Have yourselves a great day.

* Hi ho hi ho day 2 in a row.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that includes those fun-filled things referred to as weekends. Now it is time for each and every one of us to put our collective heads together and get back to doing what we all do that makes this a better rock to live on.

I was off yesterday, but Michelle and I managed to have a very nice and productive day. Started out with our weekly grocery shopping at Krogers after we planned out this weeks menu.

Followed by a trip to see Mom and Gerald and say hello to Lucy. I got her a harness Saturday and Michelle tightened it up a little bit as she somehow managed to slip a leg out of it over night.

From there my Brother in Law Jim was preaching at Woodland United Methodist Church, and his message was one that they have been dealing with over the past 5-6 weeks. He asked Michelle to show up and surprise Chris so we did. We're going to be there next week as well for a Baptism.

From there it was off to the other Walmart where we ran into Val as she was doing some shopping. She had just gotten back from Amish Country a couple of hours earlier and was out doing her shopping. Michelle wanted a specific cake mix, but they were $20 for a 2 pack. So what we would have paid for 1, we bought 4.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit on a quiet Sunday Morning, I'm just sitting here relaxing and trying to figure out what I am going to do with my day off. I'm pretty much done with RTI until April 8th, so I am going to relax today.

I did run over to Petco yesterday and got Lucy (Mom's Dog) a few things. She has been pulling her head out of her collar when you want her to do something that she doesn't want to do. So I got her a harness and some new dog tags with the appropriate information. We also scheduled her to get groomed as she is a little hairy and needs trimmed up. We're going to get her thee deluxe treatment of shampoo, cut, nails trimmed, ears cleaned out and whatever else they do including making her smell good. That will be on April 14th.

Michelle took a trip to Pittsburgh yesterday, she was going to surprise me with DiCarlo's Pizza, but the location she used to go to was closed down so Michelle picked up Osso's for dinner and brought it home.

Val and Aaron made a trip to Amish Country yesterday, no reports on how much fun they had, all I know is I was standing outside yesterday and got hammered with the sleet and snow.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here Kiwi and I once again sit in a quiet household or at least Semi-quiet I think he's in his little house watching some bird movie and laughing his butt off. I'm here trying to wake up and get prepared for the day. He really doesn't have a care in the world and will probably take a nap as I'm out working.

I'll be out working for RTI today, this will be the last day this quarter that I will try to get fresh screeners. We're at the end of the quarter and I really can use a nice little break from this. I may spend some time closing the quarter out in the next few days, but unless I get an interview scheduled for this week I'm not going out as it's fruitless.

Michelle will be heading out to Pittsburgh this morning. Back up to Allegheny General for the day. There is progress being made, but it will probably never go back to a time like it was prior to all of this happening. Thoughts and prayers are requested.

Other than that we're just chugging right along. I'm ready for some warmer weather real soon, it's Springtime so the weather needs to act like it's Springtime. =)

Have yourselves a great day

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

I have a busy day scheduled ahead of me to say the least, things will slow down around noonish and we'll be able to slow things down and about go into weekend mode, although I am working for RTI tomorrow.

I will be doing some running around after work, what I usually do on Friday afternoon. Walmart and Sam's Club run followed by dinner with my special lady. It's her week to pick where we eat, we alter week by week where each of us chooses where we have dinner from or order from on Friday Night.

Other than that life is pretty boring and pretty much uneventful. It's been one of those lather rinse repeat types of periods. I am planning on being off again on Sunday and I get two days next weekend, so woo hoo.

Have yourselves a great day and make it a memorable one.

For this week's pic, let's go back to the days when my Softball Sponsor was MVP Paintball. Of course, you want to treat your sponsors right, so what did we do? We went and played paintball at the park.

That's me on the right filling up my hopper with paintballs, and the rest of the guys in this pic are guys I played Softball with for a number of years. The old "Boy's of Summer" as I used to refer to them as.

That was a lot of fun and an adrenalin rush to say the least for me. Those little paintballs could in fact leave a welt depending on his and where they hit you. It was a good day from years past, about 14 of them to give you an estimate. Michelle and I had just started dating a couple of months earlier.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that does include those fun-filled things that we like to refer to as weekends. My streak is over with and starts back with 1 for today and will run to 6 for Saturday and then it resets again. So now let's take those collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone for another fun-filled week of doing what we do to make this a better place to live in.

Yes I decided that since I had worked through my entire roster for both segments and yesterday was the first day of Spring, a rainy one at that, that I was taking my first day off since February 13th and took a little bit of me-time.

Michelle and I did finally file our Federal taxes, that pesky state wants more money so they are going to have to wait, I'll pay it out of my Federal return as we owe the state a nice chunk of change once again. We always seem have to owe the state for some reason and we used to have extra money taken out of each paycheck to make up for them not taking enough.

Nothing major planned for the week ahead, I'm not sure if Michelle is planning on any trips to Pittsburgh this week. She did manage to go up Saturday for a few hours, but was home at a decent time so we redecorated the bathroom. We changed the showerhead a few weeks ago, not we changed the rungs and the shower curtain and bar.

Have yourselves a great day.

It's a new 6 day streak, hi ho hi ho

Sunday

Here Kiwi and I sit on an early Sunday morning, we're once again talking about his favorite music, although he does like the bird sounds that he misses. So we are just going to sit here and chill and relax and wait for my favorite season.

Speaking of my favorite season, it's SPRING!!!!!!! We reach the Vernal Equinox at 11:33 this morning, so you are in the very last few hours if not minutes of Winter, depending on when you read this.

Springtime, when the trees and foliage wake up from it's winter nap and starts to fill the landscape with vibrant spring colors. You smell the new season, just like the smell after a nice rain that cleanses the air and makes everything fresh once again. Everyone had a different reason for a favorite season, mine is Springtime because it's when nature has a rebirth. Ready to say, hey come outside and play and lets have a good time. It's shorts and sandal weather and allowing fresh airt into your dwelling. It's the time of the year when you see your neighbors and just simply say hello. It's a time of BBQ's and smoking, it's my favorite season.

With that being said I've worked 34 consecutive days, today will be day 35 if I go out and if I do the streak stops next Sunday as next Saturday is the last day for Fieldwork for the Quarter for RTI. Let's see how I feel later when it's time to go out, does the streak stop at 34 or does it go to 41.

Have yourselves a great day.

If it is Hi ho hi ho, it will be day 35 in a row.

Happy Birthday Amy Dalton

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my wonderful niece Amy a very Happy Birthday today.

Amy is an inspiration to all, she is one who sets out goals and goes out and accomplishes them, no matter how big or how small. Whether it be raising a family, career path or simply building and paying for a new house for her and her family. She is always focused and goal-driven.

Amy is also a very creative photographer. She has that Photographers eye on how to create a great shot that I wish I had but do not.

She's an amazing mother with two kids with all the tools and guidance to accomplish anything they choose and that starts in the home that Amy and Ralph have created.

I'm pretty sure Ralph took her to Amish Country for the weekend, a place that she loves to go to and has been there numerous times. You could almost call it her second home.

If you happen to see this amazing young woman today, make sure you wish her a Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday, Amy.

Saturday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Kiwi is up and singing some Bee Gees as he's dancing around his cage once again. He installed some kind of disco ball and lights in there and I think he installed a lighted dance floor. Such an innovative bird.

Well what is on my agenda for the day? Why I am working again of course. I'll be heading out and working in the field for RTI today, I'll be heading out towards Hagans again to work. I didn't make it there last weekend due to all the snow and bad roads we were experiencing last weekend. So I'll go out and try to get most of the places between now and next Saturday when the quarter officially ends for me.

Not sure of Michelle's plans at the moment, things change constantly and are set in motion. I'm not sure if she is planning on going to Pittsburgh today at press time. Wheels are already in motion for the next steps and it could just very well be a waiting game for everyone. When it does occur, instead of traveling to Pittsburgh she won't even have to leave Van Voorhis Road.

Have yourselves a great day, get out and enjoy the almost springtime.

Hi ho hi ho it's day 34 in a row.

I hope everyone has had a great week, Michelle picked up Lucy yesterday and took her to the vet and made sure that all of her shots and rabies vaccines and all that kind of stuff was up to date for her. Talk about a spoiled Puppy.

No big plans for me this weekend other than working for RTI. We're starting to get to the end of the quarter so now comes the big push to get everything done before the time when we do a hard shutdown for the project. It hasn't been one of my better quarters, hopefully we can turn that around with a new quarter, new dwelling units, and new challenges coming up.

What might I do today? Maybe watch the NCAA Tournament and see how bad my bracket has fallen apart this season. I usually do one every year with a friend and the group from Riverside Church. I picked Gonzaga to win it all.

Have yourselves a great day and a great start to a super fantastic weekend.

This weeks pic goes back to the early to mid 1970's, I have absolutely no back story top the picture other than it is a picture of my Youngest Siblings Pam and Gary.

I think Dad and Jean had taken them to the Zoo or some carnvial, my best guess would be a trip to the Pittsburgh zoo based on another picture that I have where they were dressed similarly.

Have yourselves a great day

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that does in fact those fun-filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto the grindstone and get back to doing what it is we do for a living.

Since we are now in Daylight savings time, I'm going to go out and work for RTI a couple of days this week including today. Now it won't be getting dark until about 7:15 or so I'll have a few more hours of daylight to get some things done.

Michelle is not planning on any trips to Pittsburgh this work week, not sure about the weekend and her plans, but she won't be going up during the week. She did go Saturday during that snowstorm and managed to make it back with nothing more than a lot of icy snow all over the car.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hi ho hi ho it's day 30 in a row.

Sunday

Here I sit once again on a quiet Sunday Morning. Kiwi and I are up talking about our favorite 70's music and relaxing and hanging out with the cats.

If you have manual clocks that you need to set the time on, you might want to set them ahead an hour if you have not already done so today. Daylight Savings time begins and we lose an hour of sleep from last night. That's OK with me as days will then start to seem like they are longer, now I'm just waiting for warmer.

I went out and worked a little while yesterday morning, but the side streets around the student housing was not being that cooperative. I watched a big 4 WD truck go up a hill that I needed to and get sideways, so I traveled to other portions of the segment that I could get to and see if I could make any headway doing that. With the temps being even colder today before warming up, I may just take a day off but that all depends on how I feel around noon. If I did work it would be day 29 in a row, if not my streak would restart tomorrow.

Michelle took a trip to Pittsburgh yesterday, she did wait a little while until the roads were at least travelable. I know at 6:30 they were absolutely horrible and I about put my car in the ditch coming out of the house.

Normal chores this morning, then we;ll see what the rest of the day holds.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hi ho hi ho??? Will it be 29 in a row?

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household once again wondering where did that white stuff on the ground come from? We're supposed to be past that already, Wednesday will be six weeks since Phil screwed me over with his weather forecasting, so hopefully this will be the end of it for this season.

I did check in with Mom yesterday to see how Lucy was doing, she said she is doing good and even sleeps with her on the bed that we brought over for her. Mom stuck it on the bed and she made herself all at home.

After work today I'm going to go and pick up Mom weather permitting and go get some bulk supplies for our little furry friend. We have some wet and dry food, but I would like her to be a little more stocked up for her.

As stated, I'm out in the field working today as Michelle is planning on making the trip to Pittsburgh today. Progress is being made and the situation is getting better, but silent thoughts and prayers for all who wish to assist is more than appreciated.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hi ho hi ho it's day 28 in a row.

Mom was finally able to get a dog and we delivered it yesterday afternoon. Say Hello to Lucy, a very docile and lovable dog from a very good home. They were getting to know each other yesterday as we were leaving.

Hope everyone has had a great week, now looking forward to getting this day over with and getting on to the weekend.

Other than working, no big plans for me. We have a few more weeks to go for RTI to get to the end of the quarter so that is our target. The Quarter ends in 3 weeks so it's going to be a little bit of a mad push to get to that point. After this weekend the days will be longer due to the start of Daylight Savings time beginning.

I see they are calling for snow tomorrow. I'm not sure if I have ever mentioned this, but I'm not a big fan of snow. Not even a little bit.

Have yourselves a great day and the start of a great weekend.

This weeks pic goes back to the last Friends and Family Picnic we had at Krepps Park. It was 2017 when we had this one, which turned out to be our last.

This is a pic of Michelle's Mom, her stepDad who raised her Tom and I think their dog Lucy, I can't really tell by this picture as the dog is facing the wrong way. Maybe stay tuned to one of this weekends blogs to see if that was Lucy or if that was a picture of Abbie, one of her other dogs.

Have yourselves a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

 * Monday is once again behind us, I think Kiwi is really liking the 70's genre of music that we have him listening to and there is no better reason than that to do a tidbits.

* It has been 21,277 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new, and improved 1,000 day Calender. It's better than the 991-day calendar as it gives you a nice round number to work with.

* It has been 6,517 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. Still love what I do and I guess that makes a big difference. Is it really going on 18 years since I Graduated?

Monday

Well that weekend was short and sweet, so short that I kind of missed it so to speak as I was working and Michelle was traveling Saturday, then it rained yesterday when I was out working. Fun, fun, fun. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone we know as life and get back to doing what it is that makes this a better rock to live on.

I hope everyone enjoyed your weekends, as this next weekend is going to be a short one. Daylight Savings time starts on Sunday, meaning that we push those clocks ahead an hour and lose an hour of sleep. It'll make the days longer and push sunset to well after 7:00 PM making days longer. We are just a few weeks away from my favorite season of the year as we are about to exit my least favorite. Spring is just a couple of weeks away.

I'll be working all week like I normally do, I'm not really sure as to Michelle's schedule this week. I'm sure there will be a trip or two planned to Pittsburgh once again, and I'll be doing what I have been doing this year so far with just working for Duquense Light during the week and working for RTI on the weekend. That may change after the days get a little bit longer.

Have yourselves a great day and make the most of the weather.

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Kiwi is still sleeping from dancing to all that Disco music yesterday. I think he likes the Bee Gees and I can't say that I blame him. He's in his tent snoring and thinking he's John Travolta in his sleep.

Michelle attended Luke's Birthday party yesterday at someplace called Urban Air up near Robinson Township, just outside of Pittsburgh. It sounds like a lot of fun and as of press time I have not seen any pictures.

My day yesterday, I was out working once again for RTI. Would you believe that actually managed to get my first interview of 2022 completed yesterday. I was quite happy as it had been a while since I did one, back probably in November to tell you the truth, and it was a little frustrating. People were just not wanting to do them. I'm back out today working again, now that I have the ice broken maybe I can get a few more today.

Grocery shopping and our normal weekly chores today

Hi ho hi ho it's day 21 in a row.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet Household, well semi-quiet as I think Kiwi is in there watching Netflix or something. I see lights going on and a disco ball in his cage, I think he's singing some Bee Gees and watching Saturday Night fever. He always finds a way to keep himself entertained.

Michelle is running to Pittsburgh once again and will be at the Hospital for most part of the day. This will be her third trip up since Wednesday and fourth since last Saturday.

In the afternoon she'll be attending Luke's Birthday Party that I think Hayley and the group are having at some trampoline park up in Connelsville. We got him an electronic play set where he can put a few electrical circuits together and build things. A friend of mine had the radio shack version when we were growing up and it was really a lot of fun, something I always remembered.

Me? My day is pretty much already planned out as I'll be heading out to work in a few hours for RTI. I'll be out where I have been the past few weeks working the same area. I'm still attempting to get through my first pass of the segment materials and I haven't been able to do that yet as it is so spread out.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hi ho hi ho, it's day 20 in a row.

Would you believe the temps are going to be in the upper 60's or lower 70's this weekend? I'll be out working so that will be nice to have some nice weather where I can roll down the windows and just smell the fresh air. I'm waiting got the foliage to start coming back, but something tells me that we are not too far from that point. I will definitely be wearing shorts this weekend as I'm out doing field work.

WVU men's Basketball team will play their last home game of the season tomorrow at 2:00. It has been a long and troubling season, especially this second half and I would like to see them pull off a win against TCU and give the Seniors something to remember.

As for today not much going on, Michelle is scheduled to be back at work today after missing the last couple of days being in Pittsburgh, I think she is planning on going up tomorrow as well as there are a few other things she is going to do. They are having Luke's Birthday Party tomorrow so she will be stopping in Canonsburg for that.

Have yourselves a great day, day 19 in a row for me.

Photo Flashback Thirsday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a whole lot of fun.

This week's pic goes back to I think either 2008 or 2009. Michelle and I had just pretty much started dating and we were still doing a lot of Geocaching. On this particular day, we took this amazing young lady with us on our search.

This cache was found down in Van Voorhis, somewhere between Star City and Van Voorhis, there is a railroad bridge that crosses the trail there and this cache was down in the woods below that. As you can see it is a large traditional cache and Hayley was the lucky one of us who happened to find it.

Have yourselves a great day.
