Goodbye 2022

 January

* Well the new year started out with my doing my RTI certification for 2022 so that I could work on the project this past year.

* I actually tested positive for COVID. I've had all my shots and all my boosters, just I tested positive in the month of January. I had a night when I had to sleep sitting up, but it was not as bad as I anticipated.

* I watched the Netflix series Queens Gambit that I really enjoyed. I used to play a lot of chess and started playing again in 2022 on my phone.

* I tried reaching out to my brother Gary on numerous attempts, he never seems to answer his phone.

* I never actually worked for RTI during the Month of January due to West Virginia's COVID numbers being too high.

February

* February started out with my Buddy Phil being a total butthead and seeing his damned shadow.

* Michelle and I both took COVID tests and we both tested negative.

* I finally made it out into the field to do work for RTI. A year that honestly wasn't very productive.

* We missed a Reba Concert that we had had tickets fro for over 2 years due to her Mom falling and having a traumatic brain injury.

* Roto Rooter had to come and dig up the back yard as the sewage was getting backed up. They tried everything, the only thing that worked was digging a portion of the back yard up.

* My Brother Jonathans girlfriend Barbara had passed away.

March

* After Michelle's Mom's accident, we had to rehouse a number of her animals. She had one dog that she babied named Lucy. We found Lucy the best furrever home with my Mom where the little bitch is spoiled.

* We took Lucy to the Vet and made sure that all of her shots and stuff are up to date.

* Michelle had made multiple trips to Pittsburgh to visit her Mom at Allegheny General.

* I bought another drone, one to replace the bigger one that I had.

April

* Kim and Terri took a trip to DC, it was Terri's first time visiting our Nations Capital.

* They moved Michelle's Mom for care and eventually to the old Madison House where she currently is being taken care of.

* I accepted a position with Dominion Energy in Bridgeport, but later decided to stay with my current employer.

* I had an interview with Williams Energy, but we were too far off on money. They were not offering me what I was making.

May

* Hayley and Tyler went to the Gulf Shores for something called the Hangout Festival. It's been something that they have done since they have been together.

* WVU had its Commencement and the students left town for three months. YEAH!!!!

* Amy and Ralph are absolutely amazing, they hosted a big family cookout that was attended by everyone. It was really nice to see the whole family together as it does not happen very often. I know I don;t get to see Calvin and Jeanetta or Moke and Ang that often.

June

* Hayley and Tyler celebrated their birthdays, they were born 1 day apart and they were born in the same hospital. Michelle and Alice were only a couple rooms away from each other.

* Terri and her clan made a trip to Ocean City Maryland.

* My Brother in Law George Retired from the city, and he and Pam had a big picnic at Marilla Park.

July

* Jo Dee Messina played the downtown Ampitheatre, Michelle and I planned on going but never made it.

* Michelle and I toom a trip to Hovatter Zoo, a Zoo we love to visit at least once a year.

* Michelle and I were going to Attend the Jimmy Buffet concert in Pittsburgh, which became the second concert this year that we had purchased tickets to and did not make the show.

* One of my oldest and dearest friends Tim Bowser passed away. It was a shocker to me. Tim and I competed against each other from first grade until we were little league teammates. Worked at Sterling Together and played Softball together for Sterling, Recourse, and a few other teams through the years.

* My Brother in Law Jim had an auction at the church, Michelle went and worked it.

August

* I put in for a Leave of Absence from RTI. They were just wanting too much of my time at this point and I needed a break. I would eventually leave that job in October.

* For our Anniversary, Michelle and I traveled to Muriels in Fairmont for Dinner.

* I bought a nice little dump trailer to put on the back of the lawn tractor. Our Air Conditioner currently is residing there during the winter.

* Michelle thought it would be a good idea to mow over the Sewer manhole in the yard going the wrong way. I still have the bent blade in the garage. It was quite easy to change them out and Michelle was the one who changed them out believe it or not.

* We went to the Johnny Koon Light up Night and Butterfly release. Of course, my lovely niece Amy managed to win everything again.

September

* Michelle and I went and bought a bunch of fresh corn and like we do every year took it off the cob and froze it. It's amazing the difference in taste between that fresh corn and the crap you buy in stores during the winter.

* I Celebrated my 18th Anniversary as a blogger.

* Michelle and I caught poison Ivy and found something that works great on it, Fels Naptha Soap which is a cheap soap that has been around forever.

* The Mountaineers had lost to Pitt, but we beat Virginia Tech in football retaining the Black Diamon Trophy's residence for a longer length of time here in Morgantown.

* I started to look for residences in Fredericksburg Virginia.

October

* Had to have our thermocouple replaced on the furnace, we tried firing it up and it would not stay lit. It's always good to check these kinds of things before it gets too cold.

* Michelle and I took a trip to Fredericksburg Virginia to try to find some place to live, I had a job offer that was supposed to start in November and we were going down to secure a residence. Finances were not the issue, finding a place was.

* I officially resigned from working for RTI. I started working for them in 2016 and it was a good job, I traveled a lot because of them, but my availability and what they were wanting were conflicting so it was time to say thank you and move on which I did.

* Michelle and I took a trip to Walmart looking to purchase a $3 pill splitter and I ended up walking out spending $126. I bought more than a pill splitter.

* Pam bought herself a brand new GMC Acadia.

November

* I was invited and accepted an invitation to have my profile added to Who's Who. It was a book that as a kid I used to go to the library to read years ago. I was an Almanac Geek and loved Who's Who. They are in the process of finalizing my profile for publication. I consider it an honor.

* Michelle and I woke up early enough to see the rocket launch from Wallop Island and be able to see it ascend from the back yard. A friend of mine was actually on the island and it was the first time he got to watch a successful live launch.

* I pushed my official start date for my job in Fredericksburg back until after the New Year.

* Gallagher who was my all-time favorite comedian had passed away.

* We returned to the Cassville Firehall for Thanksgiving Dinner after a couple of year hiatus from that facility.

* Michelle's step Dad who raised her Tom had passed away. We traveled to East Liverpool to lay him to rest.

December

* WVU introduced their new Athletic Director, Wren Baker.

* We traveled to Washington PA to have our Ohio Christmas this year. Hayley and Tyler stopped by and we gave them and Luke their Christmas Presents.

* Michelle did a lot of baking during this month, Christmas Cookies and Banana Nut Breads were appreciated by all (including me)

* I figured out I could use a pair of air pods and pair it with Mom's iPhone to work better than a hearing aide for her and they are much more comfortable.

* We spent Christmas Eve at my Sister Terri's and Christmas Day at Michelle's Sister Chris's house.

* I have written a total of 385 Blogs this year.

* See you on the other side of Midnight.

Last Regular Blog of 2022

This is almost it, my last regular blog of 2022. My Goodbye 2022 Blog will post in a little bit and you can relive the last year through my blog posts. Kiwi has been reading through it and proofreading it for me and chirping up a storm.

What's on my agenda for today? I'm working, making up for last Monday the same way I will be working next Saturday Making up for this coming Monday. I'll still get a two-day weekend, it'll just start this evening and carry on through Tuesday. The life of a Contractor.

Now that I have closed out an event that was going to be my big announcement, I can tell you all about it. I was offered a job with SimVentions in September, the opportunity of a lifetime only I would have needed to relocate to Fredericksburg Virginia. Housing down there is crazy is all I will say. Had to get my start date pushed back until next Monday but I gave myself to the end of the year to secure housing. Kept seeing the same dead-end leads, so Michelle and I talked about it and we are staying here for now. I've told them I could not meet my deadline and I am no longer interested. Passed up the opportunity of a lifetime, but it is what it is.

Have yourselves a great day, and remember I'm working today.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

I guess you can call this a Holiday weekend being at Sunday is New Years and I'll be off Monday due to the Holiday falling once again on a Sunday, but I am working tomorrow to make up for being off last Monday so it's not really a Friday or the beginning of a weekend for me.

Today is going to be a long day for me, I'm working my 12 hours then going to Sams and WalMart and out to dinner this evening before returning home and working once again tomorrow. I'm making the money while it is available, that's why I'm working these long days. As of press time I'm not sure if we are approved for Overtime next week (new year and new budget).

Tomorrow morning my Goodbye 2022 Blog is scheduled to be posted. It's all written and ready, to keep my numbers accurate I'll write my typical Saturday Morning Blog tomorrow morning and then my Goodbye 2022 Blog and that will be all she wrote for this years blogging.

Have yourselves a great day.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been a whole lot of fun.

This week's pic goes back to Sabrina's High School Graduation Party that John and Nasrin hosted at the Pittsburgh Zoo. We pretty much all walked around the park together as a group, and Amy and Ralph stopped for a family group picture at some oversized chairs. I took the opportunity to grab a few shots from that little lost moment in time.

It kind of brings things into perspective looking at how young Kaiden and Kynlea both are. It's hard to believe that this picture was taken 6 1/2 years ago.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

It's the day after Christmas and since Christmas was on a Sunday, my weekend extends on into today. So once again I am off and not working today as is Michelle. No nose to the grindstone for me today I'm relaxing today.

Yesterday Michelle and I took her Mom over to her sister Chris's for the day. We usually do Christmas Eve at Terri's and Christmas Day at her sisters and we continued that tradition this year. Chris is going to do another get together today for Joey's Birthday, she is going to do a slider bar.

I have to write the rest of my end-of-the-year blog which I will do later today. I have it about half was written through the middle part of the year now I just have to do the last part of the year as I extend my Holiday weekend one more day.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas Holiday and a better day today.

Every year I try, or should I say I attempt to try to put together a Christmas Video from our Christmas Eve. I've done a number of these through the years, enjoy some of my past work and Merry Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve, a big time in my family, a day filled with food and family and a time when everyone can go out and get together for an evening.

Today is the day that NORAD starts tracking Santa as he makes his way around the entire world to deliver presents to good little bits and girls.

It's a time of traditional food and me starting on my Christmas Morning Breakfast. What is my traditional Christmas Morning Breakfast, why leftover Hot Sausage Hoagies is something that we have been fighting over for about 45 years now. My Dad started the tradition and Pam, Gary, and myself that first year were fighting over the leftovers, and it just kind of became a tradition.

What's on our agenda for today, this frigid cold Christmas Eve. We'll be heading down to my Sister Terri's for the evening. There is a Chinese Gift Exchange planned once again, and that is always a lot of fun. I'll grab some pictures and put together a music video and collaborating all the pictures into it.

Watch in a few hours and I'm posting all my Christmas Eve past videos right here on this page.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday and a three-day Christmas Weekend!

I guess you can call this Christmas Eve Eve, as our family's big thing is Christmas Eve and that is tomorrow night. Tomorrow I will post all of my Christmas Videos from years past, so everyone can enjoy previous years in video format set to music.

Today however we have some things to do, Sam's Club and out to dinner this evening and then Grocery Shopping tomorrow morning. I need to buy either rolls or loaves of bread tonight or tomorrow as we start cooking the Hot Sausage, and do some prep work for that.

Have yourselves a great day and make sure to watch for both of my blogs tomorrow morning.

With Christmas Eve coming up this weekend, how about we use a picture from a Christmas Eve past. And by past I mean 2021 Christmas Eve.

I grabbed this picture of my three lovely young nieces last year at Terri's. I'm not sure of the situation surrounding the picture, only that I walked outside and the three of them were all standing together. Watch for them in a video or two later this week.

Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All the baking is done for the Holidays, all the shopping is done for the Holidays and I'll say this was a busy and productive weekend. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone known as life to make this a better planet to live on.

I hope everyone is making their final preparations for Christmas and Christmas Eve this week, because time is running out and Santa Claus is getting ready to fire up the reindeer for his yearly quest around the world. NORAD is once again getting prepared to track his progress.

Still working 12-hour shifts this week, I'll be off the next two Mondays's so I'll have a three-day weekend this coming weekend and a two-day weekend the following (to make up for Monday being a Holiday).

It's going to be a busy week for us, I still have to buy rolls and cheese for my Hot Sausage on Christmas Eve, I have the Hot Sausage and we have the peppers now all we need is there rolls and the melty stuff that goes on top of them.

Have yourselves a Great Day

Sunday

Here Kiwi and I sit with the aroma of banana nut bread radiating throughout the kitchen. Kiwi asked me if Mom baked any with any bird seed and I have to disappoint my little aviary friend by telling him no.

Michelle had a big day baking once again yesterday as I was out running chores. She ended up making 41 loaves (smaller) of Banana nut bread for Christmas. We took some over to Mom and Gerald yesterday afternoon and they appreciated it.

Speaking of Mom, if you need to talk to her I would advise calling her Cell Phone. I did a little research this past week trying to utilize her iPhone as a hearing aid in some way. I did find where there is a listen function and we got her a set of air pods to use with her phone and low and behold this works much better than her hearing aid as far as sound quality. I warned Gerald not to cuss her out under his breath because she can hear you now loud and clear.

I did manage to get an XBOX-S yesterday as well. I occasionally used to like to game, and sometimes you just want to play a game of football and I found a really good deal on it and grabbed it. I had an old Nintendo and an old Sega in the one bedroom, but I haven't played either in years, I thought it was just time to upgrade.

We did manage to get the AC out of the window and put in in the cart. O've still got it hooked up to the cart, like Michelle said the next time we use it it will be to bring it back out. She has much more foresight than I have.

Have yourselves a great day.

Saturday

Here I sit yet once again on a quiet Saturday Morning, Kiwi and I are up coming up with a strategy for him to get his Trillion Twitter Followers that he wants to accomplish. He is an amazing and innovative bird, I'm sure he will come up with some plan of action to achieve his high expectations and goals.

What's on my agenda? I'm heading out to dry laundry this morning, most of the students are gone and they have to be out of the dorms by noon today, so it shouldn't be too crowded there. I'm also planning on pulling the air conditioner out of the bedroom window and putting in the garage. Michelle brought me a pallet a few weeks ago from work for me to place it on for the winter. Instead of pulling my Subaru up the window I am going to put the wagon on the lawn tractor and do it that way. It's got a nice little gate on it for hauling things of this nature. I might even let Kiwi Drive.

Michelle is talking about baking Banana bread today, even more sweet holiday treats to fill the homestead of with wonderful and comforting smells of baked goods.

One thing I need to do today is work on my end-of-the-year blog. I've already got it formatted and a couple of months of it written, I just need to keep at it and fill it up by the end of the year. I've lost track as to how many of these that I have done.

Have yourselves a great day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday!

We have finally made it to the end of the week and what is actually my busiest day of the week believe it or not. After working 12 hours today it's off to WalMart and Sam's this evening before going out to dinner for the evening before finally coming back home and crashing for the night. No worries though, I'll be up early tomorrow drying laundry.

Well for you late Christmas Shoppers, this is your last weekend to finalize anything that you need to finalize before next weekend. Do you believe next weekend is going to be Christmas Eve already? This year has just flown by quickly.

Michelle is going to do a little bit of baking today, banana nut bread both male and female (with and without nuts) are on her agenda tomorrow morning. She won't be cooking like she did last week when she was baking cookies for about 10 hours, not sure what we may need to get from the store still, I think we have everything.

Have yourselves a great day and the start to a great weekend. BTW, students are gone!!!!

Since I spoke about the Ohio Family Christmas, the event that used to happen at Michelle's Grandmothers House, I thought I would post a picture from the last one that we did up there.

Her Aunt Charlotte arranged for us to have a Christmas Party at one of the local private clubs that she was a member of. Gigi was getting up there in age and we all decided to meet somewhere neutral so it wasn't too big of a burden on anyone else.

Have yourselves a great day.

* There are 104 days until my favorite season, Spring of 2023. Have I ever mentioned that I hate snow?

* 57 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, hopefully Phil does me a solid this year.

* 20 more days to go until my Goodbye 2022 Blog is posted, it's been eventful, and looking for more fun stuff to post. I need to start my formatting for that post.

* There are 12 more shopping days left until Christmas 2022, everyone is putting their Christmas stuff out already.

* I have written 7,010 blogs in the now 18 years plus a couple of days of being a blogger. Yeah, I've topped 7,000 posts

* Older Drone still needs to be sent out for repairs, not a big priority at this time. My little drone is awesome and I really like it....when I take time out to fly it.

* No Drone flights this weekend, I'm seriously a slacker.

* Speaking of drones, I bought myself a mini indoor drone to practice with. I don't fly enough so I need something to practice with and I thought that this would be a cheap and inexpensive option.

* Still working 12 hour shifts for Duquense Light this week.

* How about I start doing my favorite Tic Tok of the week? This is this weeks tic tok, one on if they made a 30 for 30 on Geno Smith.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Weekend is Over

All good things must come to an end, and that does include those busy but fun-filled things we refer to as weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone once again to make this world a better place to live in.

We traveled to Washington PA yesterday for the Ohio family Christmas. Julie came down from East Liverpool and we all thought that Washington PA was about a middle spot where we could all meet up.

Looking at my week ahead, it's going to be uneventful once again on my calendar, but the students are taking finals this week so the town will have a significant decrease in population over the course of this week as they head out of town. My guess is a significant number of them will be gone by Wednesday. Less traffic for a few weeks, yes!!!!!

I'm hoping for some good news for Michelle soon, or maybe just news one way to the other. We'll keep everyone posted if we get any good news.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit in a quiet household that smells like Christmas cookies. Kiwi is all tuckered out this morning from doing all his dancing yesterday, Michelle was playing Christmas music as she was baking Christmas Cookies. Kiwi wanted to help her bake, but the oven mittens to grab the hot trays were things he could fit on rather than put on his feet. Peanut really wanted to help, but she wanted to make Peanut Butt cookies rather than Peanut Butter Cookies so we fired her early into the operation.

Plans for today include a road trip to Washington PA. The Ohio family Christmas is a think of the past as we once knew it, but everyone is going to meet up in Washington PA for lunch and that will be the Ohio family Christmas get-together for 2022. Michelle and Julie went Christmas shopping together last year together, but that was the extent of it. We are all going to meet up at the Grand China Buffet in Washington PA. I've never eaten there but Jim seems to really like it.

I did some running around yesterday, first stop for me was Harry's to get Hot Sausage for Christmas eve. Got a few other things for our freezer, but mostly hot sausage. After that I ran to Giant Eagle to get some Isaly's Lunch Meat for the week. I really like their chipped ham, not too salty and just good eating chipped ham. I ran into Kim and Brittany at Giant Eagle, she had met up with some of her High School Friends the night before and fell in love with some kind of dip and a wine that they had had, so she was out looking for it.

Have yourselves a great day, make some memories.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Peanut is trying to keep up with Kiwi and has decided to write her own cookbook entitled My Stupid Humans where she demonstrates how she can manipulate the lives of her humans and get them to do what she wants them to do. I hate to see what Kiwi wants to do next, he's still working on those trillion Twitter followers.

What is on my day's agenda? Heading to the Laundromat to finish drying the laundry for starters. I get up early so I don't mind going out and getting it done. I do need to make a trip to Harry's this morning to prepare for Christmas Eve. I'll get some Hot Sausage and have it ready to take to Terri's who is once again hosting Christmas Eve and the Chinese gift exchange.

One thing I could start working on is my Goodbye 2022 Blog that I do as the last post of every year. I go through my previous 12 months and reflect with a few highlights month by month according to my Blog. I already have it formatted, now it's just a matter of writing it. I usually take 3 or 4 sessions to actually write it out as I only do three or four months at a time. I actually enjoy writing it and reflecting upon what I have written in the previous year. My thoughts and things I'm doing throughout the year is a nice reflection for me to say goodbye to the current year and as we welcome a new one.

The Mountaineer Men's Basketball team does host UAB this evening at 6:00 so be careful when driving around the Coliseum this evening.

Have yourselves a superfantastic day.

So what is going on around Morgantown this weekend? It will probably be quiet around town today and next week. There are no classes today as it is a prep day for Finals which are happening next week. What does that mean, well in a nutshell students are going to be studying for finals and once finals are over with they will be leaving on Winter Break. This means over the next seven days that they will be slowly migrating out of town until the start of the next semester which starts January 9th.

I have to make a trip to Harry's either tomorrow or next Saturday to get the Hot Sausage for Christmas Eve. We got so many compliments on it last year as we switched suppliers and the product is not as hot as it was when we used to buy it from a vendor.

Other than that not a whole lot going on. Have yourselves a great Friday and the start of a great weekend.

This weeks pic was from the last time Bonita came into town. Uncle Robert had traveled from Ohio to meet her and Mom and this was one of the last pics of the three of them together that was ever taken.

Bonita lived in Alaska, so getting back to West Virginia was something that only happened every few years. This was her last trip here.

That night the Koon family organized a meal at the church that we all attended and that is where this picture was taken.

Have yourselves a great day

* It has been 21,523 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new,  new, and improved 1,000-day Calender. I do have to say I start to feel my age of older than 21.

* It has been 6,783 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. 18+ years ago and still doing GIS and enjoying every minute of it.

* 5,368 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, the pizza hut is gone, the movie was 10,000 BC and it sucked to high heaven. Heck, even our Pizza Hut is gone.

* 4,590 days ago I proposed to Michelle in the backyard at 4:00 in the morning.

* It was 4,133 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, for the most part, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, we poured sand into a vase and said our I do's and we were hitched. How many people keep track of hoa many days they have been married 11+ years later?

* I have now lived 1,755 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* My older Brother Jonathan lived 21,266 days, I've now outlived him by 278 days making me Senior Supreme Sibling once again! We did find him, just never had the honor of a face-to-face meeting.

* I have 3,403 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there, but I love doing what I do. Who knows though, doing what I do I may never retire.

* There are 360 days until I hit the age of 60. Yeah I know, I'm really older than 21.

* There are 283 more days until the Pitt Panthers bring their butts to Morgantown so we can extract some revenge on our game this year. Payback Kitties. I think we are ready to roll now.

* There are 271 more days to go until the Mountaineers travel to Happy Valley and get another shot at an old time Rival, Penn State

* There are 241 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Twelfth Wedding Anniversary together. Moke and Ang celebrated theirs yesterday.

* There are 111 days until my favorite season, Spring of 2023. Have I ever mentioned that I hate snow?

* 71 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, hopefully Phil does me a solid this year.

* 27 more days to go until my Goodbye 2022 Blog is posted, it's been eventful, and looking for more fun stuff to post. I need to start my formatting for that post.

* No Drone flights this weekend, I'm seriously a slacker.

* Instead of working 10 hours of overtime a week for Duquense Light, I'm still working 20 hours a week of Overtime making it 12 hour days.

Monday

All good things must end, including those fun-filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is time that we put our collective noses back onto that grindstone for another fun-filled week of doing what we do for a living.

Had a good productive day yesterday. We had this cat tree that was behind my work desk that we purchased a few years back. It was huge, but the cats never got on it. Danni and Roy left their back home so gave them the one that cats don't use for their cats. All should be good in the universe now as her cats have a place to frolic.

Looking at my week ahead, I have a normal week ahead work-wise. After a couple of weeks that I had to work altered schedules because of an event that was during the week I can return to normal this week.

I know that we are going to Waynesburg next Sunday so as to have the Ohio family Christmas in a more neutral area. We are all going to meet at a Chinese restaurant (fa ra ra ra ra ra ra) so that Michelle's Mom can spend some time with her sister.

Have yourselves a great day

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Kiwi is still insisting he if going to get a trillion Twitter followers. I keep telling him there are only 8 Billion Humans on earth, but he keeps insisting world bird domination and that he will be their self-appointed leader. He's got some crazy dreams.

Michelle woke up yesterday morning with a terrible migraine headache. We had some plans yesterday to pick up her Mom and attend a niece's first birthday party, but none of that came to fruition. A day of a long nap in a cool dark area was what was on her agenda.

I'm off once again today, do you believe that, two days off in a row for me. It's some much-needed rest to say the least.

We have our menu planned out for the week, today we are making a poor mans stubbed cabbage and stuffed peppers. You cut them up and put it in with the stuffing mix and make them all together.

Have yourselves a great Sunday.

Happy Birthday Kim Sanjulian

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my Sister Kim SanJulian a very Happy Birthday today. We started out in life where I was one year older than her, but since I am only 21 years old, she has passed me up by a couple of years by now.

Kim is an amazing sister, one that I have had numerous arguments through the years, but there has always been a great deal of respect for her and her viewpoint even though I would never let her know that.

Not sure what Kim and Robert have planned for the day, but I'm sure it will either be a nice dinner or something along those lines that will be memorable.

If you see Kim today, take a little bit of time out and wish her a very Happy Birthday today.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household. Kiwi and I are up discussing some of the ins and outs of tweeting. He claims he is going to be the first twitterer with a Trillion followers. I tried to tell him there are only 8 Billion people on the planet, but he said watch me. I think he is planning on recruiting an army of birds to flood twitter.

I am off work today, I finally get a two day weekend after the past few weekends have been busy making up time for time off of work for Thanksgiving and a Funeral. Our VPN is down today, so there is no working for me.

What that does mean is that I will be heading to the laundromat this morning to dry clothes. Michelle has stepped up the past few weeks and done it for me, but I'll be heading over there this morning to get the clothes dried. I'm an early riser so I don't mind getting out early and doing it.

WVU is entering dead week. That is the week before finals where there are no tests or anything, but there are semester projects that are due. I can see a few partiers around town tonight as the last blast before the Semester ends and they go on Christmas Break between Semesters.

Have yourselves a great day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Black Friday!

It is a true Friday for me, my weekend starts this evening even though I was planning on working tomorrow, our VPN is being taken down for some upgrades so I am off tomorrow and Sunday. First two-day weekend in some time to be honest with you, and I'm kind of happy about that.

So what do I do with a two-day weekend? Michelle and I have a birthday party tomorrow afternoon at her niece Amanda's house. Her daughter is celebrating her first Birthday. Personally, I think she waited one day too long to be born, but I have a biased opinion on that if you know what I mean.

We did travel to East Liverpool on Wednesday for Tom's funeral. it was a pretty touching service and Michelle's nephew Jon gave a brief speech when they were reflecting on the times he has shared with Pap (what they called him). People were remembering the good times, the way we should say goodbye to people. The good times and the sad.

WVU did name their new Athletic Director a couple of days ago. Wren Baker was chosen to take Shane Lyon's place. I am hearing some good things about the guy, but personally, I'm a little hesitant as I prefer someone with ties to the school and who understands the culture. I wish him the best.

Have yourselves a great day.

Don't ask me what year this is from, my guess is the early or mid 1950's. That basketball Superstar that you see there playing for Van Voorhis School, none other than my Dad.

Van Voorhis School has been closed for as long as I can remember, but the remnants of the old school were still there in the early 1980's. It was just a little run down and dilapidated building.

Now as far as the basketball future of this budding young star? He decided to forgo the NBA and work in the Coal Mines..lol

Have yourselves a great day
