* It has been 20,941 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new and improved 991 day Calender. I prefer my calendar as it is the best calendar.

* It has been 6,162 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. It's still my passion and I enjoy it, I'm actually out reading maps today again!!!

* 4,759 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, Pizza Hut and 10,000 BC movie that was horrible.

* 3,988 days ago I proposed to Michelle, 4:00 in the morning but she was expecting it.

* I have 3,970 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 522 days away. I think I started this countdown with about 2,500 days.

* 309 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, he kind of extended our winter this year but that was actually the first extended winter we have had in some time.

* 276 more days to go until my Goodbye 2021 Blog is posted, I'm hoping for a big year this year.

* There are 269 more shopping days left until Christmas 2021. You still have plenty of time.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 246 more days.

* There are 128 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Tenth  Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* There are only 82 days until the start of  Summer 2021. My second favorite season of the year. WE just went from my least favorite to my favorite this past weekend.

* I have written 6,355 blogs in the now 16 1/2+ years since I started blogging.

* Actually had a couple drone flights this week, I'm waiting on amazon to deliver a battery for my drone because I put it into the creek last week. We also helped Kim take her maiden voyage with her drone.

* I'm still away working today, but this is the last week for this for about a month.

* We get our second coronavirus vaccines at the end of this week. Thank you once again, Brittany

* Kiwi is getting excited, he sees the EZ up in the backyard knowing his outside time is coming.

* Hopefully my lovely wife will charge my new drone battery when it arrives today. She is awesome like that.

* Kim had a great idea this past weekend, grab a table at Marilla some weekend and throw some burgers on the grill old George Hall style.

* Corona Virus, you can still track it as it is now starting to pick up steam and the numbers are increasing.

* We're now Gold for COVID for Monongalia County, although most of the rest of the state is red you can track the state stats HERE

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this as I am such a procrastinator.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Back to the Panhandle

All good things must, unfortunately, come to an end, my extended weekend is in fact one of those. I will once again be heading out to work in the Northern Panhandle once again this week until Wednesday so we can close out the quarter.

This will be the last I work for RTI until May as they take a month to transition from the 1st to the 2nd quarter of the study.

One good thing that I do know is that this is my Monday Night Special dinner at the hotel I am staying at, $9.99 for a 10-ounce steak, salad, buttery bread, and a baked potato. I'm not sure if I could go to the grocery store and buy all of that for 10 bucks. This is a picture of my dinner last Monday night, no McDonalds for me tonight!! Gary is working across the street and I told him about this place that is amazing.

I'm only working until Wednesday when we finish up the quarter, the good news is my second COVID Vaccine takes place on Friday and I'm hearing the second one is the one that tends to give people some trouble, so it's good I will be off after that for a while. Easter is on Sunday and Michelle and I are going to do a little something here that day, we were invited up to her nieces in PA, but with us just getting the second shot and it takes a couple of weeks for everything to be effective, we'll just be staying in Morgantown that day.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday Morning Rambling

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, Peanut is slacking once again and is off in slumberland somewhere dreaming dreams that cats dream and I'm out here with Sohpie trying to collect my thoughts for the day. I'm up watching something on HBO and collecting my thoughts for the day.

We finally got a chance to go over to my sister Kim's and get the drone that she got for Christmas up off the ground on its maiden voyage. I think she was a little bit nervous, but by the time we left she is well on her way to be an old pro at it. I have to say that I really like her drone, maybe a little more than I like mine. It's very user-friendly and easy to operate. Once I gave her the basics and explained the legal limitations and showed her once what a drone at 367' in the air looks like, I think she was pleasantly surprised that it was something that she can do but something she is going to be able to master quite easily. Her excitement was my excitement.

My drone however is still out of commission, I accidentally submerged it into the creek behind the house and it is still down. I'm hoping the electronics of the drone are OK, but my battery is done for and I do have another one coming on Tuesday, so we'll see if there is any damage to the drone itself when the new battery gets here.

It's going to be one last week of travel for RTI for at least a month, our quarter concludes on Wednesday, meaning Thursday is a no-go. I'll be out in Weirton once again Monday and Tuesday and will probably hook up with my Brother Gary at some time. I found it a little weird that he is working right across the street from my hotel.

Have yourselves a great day, make it a special one.

Saturday

Here I sit once again in a quiet Household. Peanut is nowhere around, meaning she is slacking from her co-blogging duties. I'm up temporarily watching couples retreat and trying to catch my thoughts on this dawn of a new day.,

Well had a pretty eventful couple of days to say the least. Had an Interview Thursday here in Morgantown, had an interview yesterday for a job in Baltimore that will probably be remote until the end of the year if not longer and as of press time I was supposed to have my third interview in two days with Google last night believe it or not. I'm feeling pretty good about the first two, but I always seem to feel good about them. I wore my lucky socks to the one in Morgantown believe it or not.

This afternoon I'm going to help my sister Kim fly her drone, maybe mine but mines not looking good, however. I rushed out yesterday and got it all charged and flew around the back yard, only problem was it was not the ideal situation to fly, I rushed to get it up and it was a little windy. Long story short, it ended up submerged in the creek on the backside of the house. I think the drone is fine, I build a hot box to dry the moisture up in the drone and I've got my batter sitting in a bag of rice, I do have a replacement ordered if that doesn't work, so I might be out of commission until the next weekend. UPDATE as I was typing this, we stuck my battery in rice and it was lit up and working. I think I need to hotbox it again as the camera's gimbal is overloading, probably due to moisture IMHO. We'll get it ready to fly again one way or the other. I just may be grounded temporarily.

I'll be heading back to Weirton this coming week, but only till Wednesday as that is the last day of the quarter and the second quarter does not kick off until the first of May.

Have yourselves a great day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes, it is once again that time of the week that we all look forward to when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday. I'm actually back home and Michelle and I are a single week away from our second COVID Vaccinations. So that right there is one heck of a reason to celebrate. You may ask yourself why is my traditional opening paragraph so long compared to my typical Friday posts? Simple answer. formatting.

Well since my lovely wife loves to watch the Giraffes I just couldn't pass up on the opportunity to use one in my picture for Friday's blog. They are big and they are hairy and how often do you really get the chance to use not only one, but two of them in a single blog post? Michelle basically lives on the Giraffe Cam and we have to cut our talks short on Tuesdays because she is an insider and that is when their exclusive discussions take place.

I do have a skype interview this afternoon for a job that is located in Baltimore. Not the job I went down and interviewed for but one with an oil and gas company. It will initially be remote work from home, but will eventually be in an office in downtown Baltimore, just not on the inner harbor like the other job I thought I was getting earlier this year. I put in for a lot of jobs in this area and in Pennsylvania where it's just a commute to work and back. I've had one interview here and this will be my 4th one in Baltimore.

Weekend plans probably include us going and getting a new canopy to put up outside. We left the one we had outside all summer and it took it's toll on it by weathering the tarp and ultimately weakening the frame. It was a number of years old and is our smaller and cheaper one, so we'll just replace it.

Have yourselves a great day.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out, time to look at some of the 30,000+ photos that I have stored on my computer. Little lost moments in time that I either captured with a lens, scanned, or just stole from someplace on the internet. I like to find just one and post it up and recall or relive the picture to the best of my ability. Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been is a whole lot of fun.

I'm sure I've used this one before, probably a few times but when I ran across it it gave me a nice chuckle so I thought I would use it once again for this weeks blog.

There is not too much I can say about this picture other than the obvious, yes it is a time when someone took a picture of my Dad peeing at work in the mines. That is honestly about all I can say about this picture other than I know it happened in the 1900's. My dad passed away in 1999 so it had to before that, I can even say it was most likely in before or in 1998 as he was off sick the last six months of his life and never made it back to work after a twisted bowl surgery that started his downfall.

He was a hard-working, blue-collar family man who was loved and respected by all.

Have yourselves a great day.

Here I Go Again

It's time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone for another fun-filled week of doing what we do for a living. The weekend is over and now it's time to get to work and that includes me.

First, for me, it was a couple of trips to Moundsville, then last week I was in Charleston and working the Capital City. I actually had a number of segments down there, but when they ran the COVID report on Thursday, Kanawha County was now not a county that we were allowed to work at because of increasing numbers. Today, I head to Weirton West Virginia where I will be staying, but it is not where I will be working. I will be heading to where they wanted to send me before they decided to send me to Moundsville. So this is actually the initial segment that they wanted me to work the week I went to Baltimore.

I'll be out working this week while Michelle takes another turn holding down the fort at home. Peanut loves the springtime because Mommy and Daddy leaves the back door open and she gets to frolic. Peanut really loves to frolic, it is her second favorite thing to do right next to helping me blog.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, Peanut is in with Mom and I'm here collecting my own thoughts for the day. I guess Michelle leaving was just too much stress on the poor kitty cat...lol I'm up watching Beverly Hills Cop III.

What's on the day's agenda, well I'll probably write the week's worth of blogs sometime today. being that I am traveling this week and next week I like to stay on top of the blogs, so I have been writing them on Sunday's to cover Monday thru Friday as I'm out working. This way the blog is refreshed and I don't have to worry about it as I'm away.

I did call Gary and we are going to try to hook up this time, he lives in Wheeling and works in Weirton, meaning he travels up and down Toute 2 every day. I'll be staying in Weirton and working south of there so it's a little more likely that our paths will cross this week than it was when I was working in Moundsville. More logistically feasible for it to happen than when I was staying about a 20-minute drive south of where he lived and traveled the opposite direction.

My other agenda for the day will simply be to do our weekly grocery shopping as soon as Michelle wakes up. We'll get her set up with everything she'll need this week as I'm traveling.

Make this second day of Spring special and have a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here the infamous Peanut and I sit in the early morning hours, she and Kiwi have been up all night telling cat and bird jokes back and forth. Chirp, chirp chirp, meow,  meow, meow back and forth all night long. I've got South Park playing in the background

Michelle stayed up at her friend Holly's back home last night, my guess is there was a lot of wine and a hot tub with a lot of conversation that was carried on last night. It's been a while since they had a wine and BS session, so Michelle headed up there yesterday and has a Birthday party that she is going to attend today. She should be back this evening and things should go back to normal tomorrow. I know Kiwi didn't have his Good Night partner and was up all night conversing with one of the Cats.

I spent the last week working in Charleston, I thought I was going back down there this week but Kanawha County has too many COVID cases and is no longer open for us to work. I'll be traveling once again this coming week, just in a different direction. Moundsville is closed but there is a lot of work north of that between there and Weirton where I will most likely be staying that we are going to tackle. We're only working this quarter until March 31, then we are shut down for a month as RTI starts to prepare for Quarter 2. I did hear we will be getting the N-95 masks when we start our next quarter, but by then I will be fully vaccinated so it really doesn't matter. It'll be nice to have a supply of good masks though.

With Michelle gone what are my plans for the day? I've already made up all my packets for work next week, they have to sit 72 hours before we can use them, so it may just be a day of watching Basketball for me. I may run out and comparative shop for a new back yard canopy, the EZ up we had has seen it's better days and the tarps are just as expensive as replacing the whole unit, so that will be how we go this year. I have a big 12' x 12' but it's just a little too big and we need something a little smaller for the backyard.

Congratulations to Coach Bob Huggins and the Mountaineers. They had a hard fought opening round of the NCAA Tournament win by beating Morehead State 84-67 that ended just a few hours ago. They advance to play Syracuse in the second round Sunday. This win gives Bob Huggins career win number 900.

Have yourselves a great day, make it special. Oh and one more thing, it's Officially SPRING!!!!!!!!

I'm home from work this week, and what is Michelle doing, she is heading back home for the weekend. She'll be staying at Holly's tonight enjoying the hot tub and some Italian Wine this evening as Peanut, Sophie, Kiwi, and I have a big ole house party here.

Not sure what I am going to get into this weekend, Michelle won't be home until tomorrow evening, you know there is this big basketball tournament that is taking place. Maybe I'll watch a game or two of that tournament.

Have yourselves a great day today, make the most of it I know I'm going to try to.

Happy Birthday Amy Dalton

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my wonderful niece Amy a very Happy Birthday today.

Amy is an inspiration to all, she is one who sets out goals and goes out and accomplishes them, no matter how big or how small. Whether it be raising a family, career path or simply building and paying for a new house for her and her family. She is always focused and goal driven.

Amy is also a very creative photographer. She has that Photographers eye on how to create a great shot that I wish I had but do not.

She's an amazing mother with two kids with all the tools and guidance to accomplish anything they choose and that starts in the home that Amy and Ralph have created.

I'm not sure what Ralph, Kaiden and Kynlea have planned for this special young lady today, could be dinner could be any number of tasks working on the new home, but rest assured it will be memorable and special.

If you happen to see this amazing young woman today, make sure you wish her a Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday, Amy.

This week's pic comes from last Summer, I grabbed this picture as my co-author was strolling around the backyard last fall. It's getting that time of the year again when my feline co-blogger gets to run around outside again all day. She loves the outside, even all winter she will lay by the door or bedroom window and just watch what is going on outside all day.

Peanut is a great cat, but she tends to get spooked anytime something is out of the ordinary here. She has her hiding places, she is such a blog writing, joke telling diva.

Have yourselves a great day

Monday

Another Monday, another week of challenges and another road trip for yours truly. Now it is time for everyone to put their collective noses back to the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living and making this world a better place.

I'll be heading south this week, heading down to the state Capitol this morning and working in that area. I may be making a few return trips here over the next few weeks, that is unless something closer to home opens up for me. I don't mind though, I much prefer working areas where people are located and the roads are at least two lanes and made of asphalt.

It was 13 years ago today that Michelle and I went out on our very first date. I don't know what I would have done without her, they have been some very magical years and we have managed to pretty much see the world together. I'm lucky to have such a great woman to have come into my life at a time when I was ready for it. Here is to the next 13 years!

Have yourselves a great day, I have a few hours of driving ahead of me today. I'll but on some 70's tunes and cruise on down the highway.

Sunday Morning Springing Forward

Here I sit in the later early hours of a beautiful Sunday Morning, Peanut and I are in different rooms as she is now on strike because I kept her inside all day yesterday. I'm up early watching who knows what on whatever channel, does it really matter with the 1,000 stations and all the streaming services anymore.

If you have not already done so, move your manual clocks ahead one hour this morning. Daylight Savings Time begins today and if you didn't change your clocks, you're going to be behind. This is starting my favorite time and favorite season of the year, and that season will be here starting on Saturday.

I'll be excited when Spring officially gets here, we need another EZ Up as the one we have had for a number of years kind of has seen its better days. We kept it up all summer and out in the sun and that can tend to put wear and tear on the cover, it was 6 or 7 years old so it's time to invest in a new one. Kiwi will appreciate it this summer when he gets to go outside.

I'll be doing some planning today, leaving tomorrow morning to head to the State Capital for a few days to work for RTI. I may be there for 3-4 days a week for a while, there is a lot more work than what I had the last couple of weeks working in Moundsville. I don't mind the travel, I prefer being home with Michelle, but we all need money.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, Peanut is keeping me company and we're discussing the difference between NAD 27 and NAD 83, I'm trying to explain to her that you are not in Kansas anymore. A little Geography humor for everyone in the early morning hours. I'm up watching who knows what on HBO.

Once again a large heartfelt Thank You to my wonderful niece Brittany in assisting Michelle and I to get our first rounds of COVID vaccine yesterday at the Morgantown Mall. We were both given the Pfizer Vaccine. I have to say the way they have that all worked out is absolutely amazing, everyone associated with this project needs to be thanked. I know the person administering my vaccine said they did 3,500 vaccines on Thursday and were planning on 3,000-3,600 yesterday. We were each in and out in a matter of 15 minutes and there were literally hundreds of people getting their vaccines at the same time we were. If anything worked as smoothly as that operation yesterday you have a very efficient process. Our second shots are already scheduled for April 2.

I will be traveling once again for RTI this coming week, I will not however be working the same location as I will travel much further away in the Southern direction. I may even be spending a few weeks down there as we have a lot of work that needs to be done in the Captial city and surrounding areas. We are loaded in work and we will have a number of us down there working. I think we actually have 2 or 3 others from RTI down there already, the workload is just so heavy that they are bringing me in as well. I don't mind traveling like this, the money is decent and I can't complain.

Remember before you go to bed tonight to move your clocks ahead 1 hour unless your clocks do it automatically like most of ours/ It's time to lose an hour of sleep this weekend and extend the daytime hours later into the evening where we have more daylight.

No big plans for us today, I have to prepare some packets to work on next week. Because we are in a COVID Protocol, anything I hand to respondents has to have been in an envelope for 72 hours. COVID can live on paper for 24 hours, and considering who we are and who we are contracting for we are tripling the time as an extra precaution. I did hear I'm going to get a number of the good N-95 masks starting next month as part of my supplies.

First off a big Thank You to my niece Brittany, she helped get Michelle and me scheduled for our first COVID Vaccine shots this morning. We even have our second shots scheduled next month and we'll be good to go.

I'm back from my travels and looking forward to the weekend and relaxing a little bit. Been a busy week and now it's time for me to kick back and relax a little bit, providing they aren't planning on sending me someplace else today or tomorrow. We do have a lot of work since we were off for a year and they have opened up so many segments and such a higher % of lines, we'll be occupied for some time.

I could spend the weekend getting reacquainted with Peanut, Sophie and of course my aviary friend who likes to bite me, Kiwi. You figure for all I do for Kiwi, he should at least let himself out of his cage and come and help me tie my shoes every once in a while. I guess he's just a rebel like that.

Have yourselves a great day, make it special and memorable. Do just one little thing that will make the world a better place, we'll all benefit.

This weeks pic goes all the way back to the 2010 season, when I was still able to play, but on the downward part of my athletic career playing softball. The team, the old MiHaley's team, that Michael Toth had sponsored and played 2nd Base for us. At the bat was Chris "Hector" Ostien, I'm wearing #33, Chris Evans who owns Tin 202 is on my right, former WVU Football player Justin Knapp is on my left wearing #54 and #12's name is slipping my memory right now, I know he is an attorney however.

I think this was the last summer that I played competitive softball and it was about a year before Michelle and I got married. I've played a few years since in the Sr League, but that is for people aged 50 and older and it has modified rules.

Have yourselves a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is once again behind us, I'm away from home working and Michelle is at home holding down the fort.

* It has been 20,920 days since I was born, that is 21 years using my new and improved 991 day Calender. I prefer my calendar.

* It has been 6,141 days since I graduated from WVU with a Degree in Geography. It's still my passion and I enjoy it.

* 4,738 days ago Michelle and I had our first date together, Pizza Hut and 10,000 BC movie that was horrible.

* 3,967 days ago I proposed to Michelle, 4:00 in the morning but she was expecting it.

* It was 3,489 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I became husband and wife at the Marilla Center, married by a chiropractor.

* I have now lived 1,129 days longer than my Dad did and I'm still going strong.

* I have 3,991 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days here or there.

* The next Backyard Brawl where we beat Pitt's ass in Football is only 543 days away. I think I started this countdown with about 2,500 days.

* 330 more days until Phil steps to center stage again for Groundhogs Day, he's held up his prediction so far this year, it's probably snowing right now still.

* 297 more days to go until my Goodbye 2021 Blog is posted, I'm hoping for a big year this year.

* There are 290 more shopping days left until Christmas 2021. You still have plenty of time.

* The next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 267 more days.

* There are 149 days until Michelle and I head to Pittsburgh to see Reba in concert. It was postponed this March to July and now they are pushing the tour until next year. It'll be my and Michelle's 10th wedding anniversary.

* There are 149 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Tenth  Wedding Anniversary together. =)

* There are only 14 days until the start of Spring 2021!!!!! My favorite season of the year!!!

* I have written 6,333 blogs in the now 16 1/2+ years since I started blogging.

* No Drone flights this weekend, hopefully, I can get a few flights in this spring.

* Do you believe that we are a mere two weeks away from Spring? I'm so ready for the Winter doldrums to be over with.

* I could be eating some DiCarlo's Pizza this week....YUUUUMMMMM

* I will say that I have not ran into any family members either last week or this week working up here. I know Uncle Chuck and Aunt Juanita only lived a few blocks from here, although their home is gone now.

* Not sure if I have ever mentioned it before on my blog, but I Hate Snow. I'm so glad that it is melting

Away I go again

All good things must come to an end, and that does include those fun-filled things we refer to as weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back onto that grindstone for another fun-filled week of doing what we do for a living.

Here I go once again, getting ready to start another week out in the field with RTI. I'll be heading to the same location that I was at last week, and working the same segment. I was scheduled to go south, but that all got changed and the area was set to the residents only. Actually, we have someone who lives down there, so it's only right that they get to work their home segments. I may even have to make a stop off at Coleman's Fish Market on my way home. Michelle is wanting some good crab cakes so that may be my excuse for stopping when I come home.

I tried to hook up with Gary last week, but to no avail as our schedules were a little bit off, I'll try to get in contact with him again this week when I am in the area.

I'll be home later this week and Michelle will be here holding the fort down while I am away.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit on a quiet Sunday Morning, Peanut and I are here conversing and she is educating me in the language of CATanese, I'm learning to speak it pretty fluently. I'm up watching Rocky Balboa on HBO and trying to collect my thoughts on the day.

Well it appears like I will be heading to where I worked last week once again this coming week. I've already called my brother Gary and we're going to try to hook up while I'm up there, something that we were unable to do last week. Between me putting in long days and him having Dr's appointments, we were never really able to find time in our two schedules to get together. Hopefully this week will be different.

I'll be spending the day planning my week out, booking my hotel and hopefully, I'll be able to get the same hotel deal as last week. It was close and well under the Government rate for the area which is what I needed. I could cross the river for half the price, but we're not approved to leave the state meaning I would be eating the cost of the hotel and that's not happening. I might even try to make a stop at Coleman's Fish Market for Crab Cakes for my wonderful wife when I return home.

Other than that, it's a shopping and get ready for the week kind of day.

Have a great one.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit with the internationally acclaimed feline blogger Peanut and I sit putting our heads together to come up with some kind of literary masterpiece for you the readers. Look at that brain and how it's a churning original thought out of that feline mind. We're up watching Happy Gilmore and collecting our thoughts for the day.

I was planning on traveling south to work today and most of next week however, that county's status changed to resident only, meaning only a resident can work it until the next report comes out next Friday. I will take my efforts and concentrate them to the exact same location I worked last week and do it again this upcoming week. So it is once again off to the land where my Aunt and Uncle lived until their passing and basically where my brother currently lives. I'll try to stay at the same hotel as it was a perfect location for me. It was close, on the main drag and there were many amenities (and I mean a Super WalMart) right next to me.

So with nothing to do today as my plans have changed, what does this mean for me? Pretty much nothing, Michelle is a little bit under the weather again and may be suffering from Sciatica as she has been in a lot of pain ever since I got back into town Wednesday Night. She did clear off the treadmill yesterday, I can see it getting a workout in the very near future. Probably wouldn't hurt to get my oversized derriere in there as well. COVID has taken a toll on both of us and it's showing physically.

The WVU Men's Basketball team is playing host to #17 Oklahoma State today at 2:00. If the Mountaineers win, this will be win #900 in Bob Huggin's illustrious coaching career.

Have yourselves a great day, now Peanut and I will go back to telling Cat Jokes to entertain each other.

How is cat food sold?  Usually, purr the can!

OK One last one.

What state has a lot of cats and dogs? Petsylvania!

A lot of things are changing down here in the valley, a place where I have lived on and off for about 23 years at three different locations. I worked down here in High School helping frame a couple of the apartments off in the distance, worked at the Valley Mart on a couple of different occasions and have spent a great part of my life down here.

Patty ended up selling the Apartments first, then this house, the store, and her two houses a little over a year and a half or so. She left the valley about a year ago and is now happily residing in Florida as I watch what was a lifetime of building by her Dad come down in just a few short days.

The picture you are seeing is from my backyard, the big area you see is where Patty's two beautiful houses with a nice in-ground pool in between them used to reside. The plans are to continue the UHaul business she started, as the office of now where the old Valley Mart was. They knocked down both houses, hauled everything away and now all that resides is a nice flat piece of ground. with endless possibilities.

This is what is left of all that Wayne, Pat, Patty, Mickey and Michael had built down here. Lot's of changes in the Valley.

Have yourselves a great day, I know my view has been altered.

Sometimes this is a pretty easy task and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it has always been is a whole lot of fun.

This weeks pic is from the Johnny Koon Lantern Launch and Butterfly Release from a couple of years ago. Everyone was buying their tickets and Kim had a stamp to mark all her tickets. What did we win, same as I do every other year, nothing? Actually, I think we did win something for little girls and we just turned around and handed it to Kynlea. Amy and Ralph have a magical way of winning all the prizes somehow. Yes they buy a lot of tickets. but so do we and they are always lucky at the drawing.

No complaints though, we're there to raise money for a good cause and make a few memories on the day.

Have yourselves a great day.

Happy Birthday Luke and Happy Monday

I would like to take this opportunity to make this a dual purpose blog, first and foremost I would like to with our Grandson Luke a Very Happy Birthday today. Korey, Hayley and Tyler had his birthday party yesterday at Korey's house and Michelle and I went up and enjoyed the afternoon with everyone. Luke officially turns 7 years old today, Happy Birthday Luke.

For me, I'm out on the road and traveling to a city when my Aunt Juanita and Uncle Chuck lived their lives for the next few days. I'll be up there working there for RTI today, tomorrow and Wednesday before returning Wednesday evening to my lovely wife. Been to this city many times as a kid and a few times as an Adult, and only stayed overnight there once previously when my Juanita passed away.

I've talked to my brother Gary a few times in the last couple of days, we are going to try to hook up while I'm up in his neck of the woods. He actually lives in Wheeling and works in Weirton, so he has a little bit of a drive to go to work. Hopefully we can grab a two brothers picture while I'm up there.

I hope everyone has a great day.
