Tuesday's Tidbits

* It's Halloween!!!! Time for a tidbits.

* It has been 19,710 days since my reported birth, by my calculation and using my patented 938 day calendar, that should make me 21 years old. Tell me that aint scary.

* It has been 4,916 days since I graduated from WVU, all the ghosts and ghouls partied down that day.

* 3,517 days ago I took Michelle out for Pizza and to see the movie 10,000 BC. I should have taken her to see a better movie, I'll admit it.

* 2,741 days ago I got down on one knee and proposed marriage and my life has been better ever since.

* It was 2,278 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I entered into marital bliss and this was the day that I started getting my daily beatings.

* I have 5,144 days to go until I retire, the countdown continues.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass is only 1,790 days away, judging how we played this weekend we might want to delay that game but then again Oklahoma State totally destroyed them.

* There are 279 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our magical Seventh Wedding Anniversary.

* We have 140 more days to go until Spring 2018, yes as we about enter this season of shorter and colder days and I'm counting the days until they are over with. We're not too far from setting the clocks back.

* 95 more days until Phil takes center stage again, he did stop by for a visit Saturday.

* 62 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 Blog is posted where I recount 2017 based on what I have written in my blog. It has been a year of transition and change, so should be a good read.

* There are 55 more shopping days left until Christmas. I know some who will be putting their trees up early this year, some as early as next week. We get real trees and won't be putting it up that early.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 45 more days. If you use that antiquated 365 day calendar, this will be the 33rd Anniversary of it.

* I have written 5,036 blogs in what is now my 13 full years of being a Blogger and working towards 10,000. Only 4,964 to go!!!!!

* Nothing new on the Brother Search that has been going on for a couple of years, but we've hit brick walls everywhere.

* Nothing new on the Hall Family Tree, even though there are some updates and additions that do need to be made, so there is that for me to work on.

* Chad's back, him and his dog Ace and the 15' Python are all living with us again.

* Amanda and Joey are having their Housewarming this Saturday, hopefully I can make it back in town on time.

* Michelle has assumed some new roles in her position at work.

* The Steelers redeemed themselves yet once again and ran their record to an AFC best tying 6-2 on the year. Nice little winning streak going into the Bye Week.

* WVU will be at home this week hosting Iowa State who is just on fire this weekend, they used to be the doormat but they are going on the road and beating everyone.

* Now that it has been spotted in West Virginia and I have spotted Michelle doing her dance, I just want to say that I Hate Snow. Not just a little bit, but a lot bit.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

You know my Blog Titles have started to become pretty predictable, you always seem to know what day of the week it is, lol. Anyways it's time to stop all the enjoyment and time to stick our collective noses back on the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living. It's Monday and the start of another week of changing the world and making it a better place.

Chad and Josh are going to be moving Chad in today, the U-Haul is in hand and hopefully Chad is all ready to move over the next couple of days. Josh is off this week and has agreed to help him out, so they should have no problem getting things moved and getting Chad set up. I do have to run a 25' Cable wire into that bedroom as the current setup does not have a strong enough signal to operate the X-1 there. My bedroom and the living room all feed off the main, that bedroom routes through the entire house and up into the garage, then back to there. Running the cable will solve that problem instead of trying to figure out that spaghetti. Sounds like a good project for Chad...lol

Other than that, it is just going to be a normal week for us around here. Michelle is going to start working longer hours due to someone in their company leaving, so we will both be getting off of work around the same time. It was nice coming home to a nicely prepared meal every day, but that is OK, I also enjoy being her kitchen bitch and sous chef...lol

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Here I sit in a quiet household once again, I'm up early watching Jackass the Movie and collecting my thoughts for the day.

Boy was yesterday a bad day. I mean not for us personally, but watching the WVU Football team totally get their assess handed to them in a very substandard effort was hard to watch. It is so bad we may not win another game this season, there is no intensity, no discipline and no game plan that is not predictable. Too many third and unmanageable situations because we have an Offensive Coordinator who likes to keep chucking it downfield, run passing plays that take too long to develop and are committed to an inept running game. Then you stick a tired defense back on the field continually and don't bother substituting. It would have been one thing if this lackadaisical effort would have happened on the road, this was in our house.

Oh well, I'm 0 for 2 this weekend in Football with the Mohigans and Mountaineers. The Steelers are on the road at Detroit tonight at 8:20, maybe I can salvage with one of my teams winning this weekend.

Other than that, we'll be picking up the U-Haul for Chad this evening in preparation for him finally making the move tomorrow and Tuesday. He's still trying to sell his Python, but not too many people are in the market for a 15' reptile these days.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here In sit in a quiet household once again, the TV is on but the volume is so low that it's just insignificant that it is on and I have no idea what is playing in the background. Me and the cats are up early just lounging around and enjoying the quiet times.

I'm off this weekend from RTI, but will head out again next weekend to a new segment that has not been addressed yet. We'll see if we can knock it down with a good run through and meet our groups yearly goal for the first time since I have been on the project.

Well congratulations to University High for winning last night's MoHawk Bowl finishing undefeated on the season and causing the Mohigans to end up with a losing 4-6 record. I think Morgantown High has a lot of work ahead of them before next season.

Today here in Morgantown, #22 West Virginia University hosts #11 Oklahoma State at noon on ABC. Oklahoma State is an 8 point favorite in our house, could conditions be right for the Mountaineers to pull the upset this afternoon? It's possible, probability is a lot less favorable however. We'll just have to wait and see.

Chad is packing this weekend and we have the UHaul reserved for him Monday and Tuesday.

Have yoursleves a great day today.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

You want some football, well we have some football this weekend in Monongalia County. Morgantown High tries to avoid a losing season as they travel to my side of town to take on the undefeated University High Hawks in the MoHawk Bowl. Morgantown has played a very tough schedule, going out of state and playing the likes of Ohio Powerhouse Steubenville, PA Powerhouse North Allegheny and arguably the most productive team in the state in Martinsburg this season.University has played a less than challenging schedule, and have run the table. This should be a good game, and although my heart says Mohigans in the upset, something tells me the Hawks take this one leaving Morgantown with a losing season =(. Clay Battelle is at home taking on Notre Dame in Blacksville.

The Mountaineers are kicking off tomorrow at Noon as they are taking on #10 Oklahoma State. I don't know what to expect from this years team, not worried about the Offense but the defense had a let down last week and Special Teams, don't get me started on this unit as they are the unit that keeps drawing defeat from the jaws of victory.

Have yourselves a great day, enjoy some football this weekend and have some fun. Chad will be moving back in early next week, we have a UHaul rented for him.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through some of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet through the years and find one special picture that stands out. Little lost moments in time from yesterday caught with a Cameras lens and relived right here in my blog. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it consistently is however is a whole lot of fun.

Look at this handsome young man, a picture from many, many moons ago. This I think was either my Kindergarden or First Grade Picture. Judging that there is no scar between my eyes at this time, I would like to think that this picture was taken probably around late 1969 or early 1970 and was my school picture.

This was a time when I always had crew cuts, and I did so until about second grade when I was allowed to grow my hair out and became a hippy, before cutting it to a respectable length somewhere in my Jr High Years. Of course all this precedes the years that my hair started to fall out and I embraced the baldness.

Speaking of baldness, time to shave the head and head into the office to change the world.

Hump Day

Two days in, two more in front of us, now all we have to do is get up and over this noon time hump and we will be able to see the dawn of yet another fun filled weekend.

Wednesdays are always the day that I struggle the most for content, Mondays and Fridays are start of work weeks, Tuesday's and Thursdays are themed posts and Saturday and Sunday are both live blogs, it's Wednesday that I seem to always struggle with. Between working two jobs and all the other things we have going on, sometimes fresh content is a struggle.

Has anyone noticed that it is starting to get dark much earlier. We're a couple weeks away from moving the clocks back to make it darker even earlier so we can have some more morning daylight hours as opposed to evening daylight hours. The time of the year that I like the least is about to set upon us and that dreaded thing called snow is not too far off in the future. Speaking of weather, you know I am reaching for content now, there is an ap called WTForcast for mobile devices that is absolutely hilarious. It's always a good way to check the weather and get a good chuckle, we have our profanity filter off, so we get the full Monty...lol

Have yourselves a great day, let's get up and over this hump.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday, Complete. Tuesday locked and loaded and we're ready to do a tidbits.

* It has been 19,703 days since my reported birth, by my calculation and using my patented 938 day calendar, that should make me 21 years old.

* It has been 4,909 days since I graduated from WVU, it changed my life for the better.

* 3,510 days ago I took Michelle out for Pizza and to see the movie 10,000 BC. Yes she still does talk to me despite my horrific movie choice.

* 2,734 days ago I got down on one knee and proposed marriage and my life has been better ever since.

* It was 2,271 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, Michelle and I entered into marital bliss.

* I have 5,151 days to go until I retire, that is unless they push the retirement age to like 110 or something like that, that could suck.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass is only 1,797 days away, can't get here soon enough. You always have to hate Pitt.

* There are 387 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our magical Seventh Wedding Anniversary.

* We have 147 more days to go until Spring 2018, yes as we about enter this season of shorter and colder days and I'm counting the days until they are over with.

* 102 more days until Phil takes center stage again and pretends that a Groundhog is the worlds most listened to Weatherman.

* 69 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 Blog is posted where I recount 2017 based on what I have written in my blog. It has been a year of transition and change, so should be a good read.

* Nothing new on the Brother Search that has been going on for a couple of years, but we've hit brick walls everywhere.

* Nothing new on the Hall Family Tree, even though there are some updates and additions that do need to be made, so there is that for me to work on.

* Jim and Chris are going to have a couple of auctions before the end of the year. They are planning one for the 17th at the Cassville Firehall and then another one the next month as well. Jim has an amazing talent of wheeling and dealing, that is for sure.

* Chad will be moving back in with us this week, he was going to do it Saturday but he lives by the stadium and there is a noon kickoff Saturday.

* The Steelers redeemed themselves yet once again and ran their record to an AFC best tying 5-2 on the year. It looked like a complete game Sunday against the Bungles.

* WVU will be at home this week hosting #10 Oklahoma State, this could be the make or break game of the season for this team who gave me a heart attack Saturday night.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this.

*Michelle is going to get her flu shot today, I got mine three weeks ago and should be all good to go for this season.

* I hate snow.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and for me this time it does include a nice relaxing weekend (other than the WVU Football game that caused me stress.lol), now it is time to stick our collective noses back onto the grindstone and start another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living.

Michelle and her sisters did manage to finally have a get together yesterday, we all went and did lunch at Cheddars and Amanda joined all the siblings and the spouses for a great lunch.

I did learn that my amazing Sister-in-Law is the families second auctioneer now as she passed all of her written and practical tests to become a licensed auctioneer. Now both Jim and Chris are Auctioneers and they are going to start doing auctions again next month and in December.

Roy and Dani rode down and stayed a couple of nights and went to Bridge Day in Southern West Virginia Saturday. Roy has a really nice Goldwing motorcycle that he bought a few years ago, talk about a sweet bike, he goes everywhere on it.

Have yourselves a great day today, change the world.

Sunday Morning Grumblings

I have to say that I am still up from watching the WVU football game this evening. Possibly the worst effort I have ever seen from a coaching staff ever at WVU.

Blowing a 22 lead to Pitt in 1989 or the 13-9 debacle were bad, but Baylor we had by 25 points in the 4th and were a blown 2 point attempt from tying it up. On top of that, Baylor has yet to win a game this season (0-7) and have lost two games to FCS (Lower division) schools.

This is on the coaching staff, from the Offensive Coordinator who doesn't seem to understand the concept of the game to the undisciplined Defense who were sucking wind at the end of the game and no one was coming in to replace them.

Pathetic effort all around, and I'm not even going to pick on Special teams with their screw up on 1 and almost 2 on side kick attempts.

The Mountaineers won 38-36, but their lack of discipline and, game planning and in game adjustments were absolutely horrendous. The Offense was great at times, it was just the inopportune times that they looked inept that almost cost us the game.

Gonna be a tough night to sleep.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the first one to awaken from last nights thrashing by that dreaded Sandman and I'm up watching Michael on HBO and collecting my thoughts for the day.

Michelle and I stopped over at Jim and Chris's yesterday evening, they had their new home delivered and it is being set up, but they are not allowed access to it yet as they are finalizing inside before they will be granted access to it and handed the keys. Beautiful home, once they get moved they are going to demolish the old one. Jim has a Bobcat this could be a lot of fun when everything is ready.

Danni and Roy are in town, so we are talking about getting together this evening and doing dinner together somewhere. With full schedules and the three sisters living in different states, there are only a few opportunities for Michelle and her siblings to get together.

WVU plays this evening, the game is at 8:00 on Fox Sports 2, which is available in Morgantown with the right package with Comcast, we have that package so it's going to be a late night for me as I stay up well past my bedtime and watch the game.

I think Michelle and I will be starting to move some of Chad's stuff over here as he will be moving back in with us. Yes he still has the Python that could arguably called the biggest one in Morgantown if not a larger area.

Have yourselves a great day, I'm off today!!!

Are you looking for a little football? Well guess what there is no football played in Monongalia County this weekend. Morgantown High travels to Moundsville to take on John Marshall, still undefeated University High travels to Preston County to take on Preston, Clay Battelle is on the road to play Conotton Valley, OH and to top that all off, WVU is playing at Baylor tomorrow night at 8:00.

So what are we to do? My segment that I was traveling to work has been assigned to someone else to clean up, only have a couple up here so I'm probably taking the whole weekend off from working for RTI. I really thought I would be swamped until mid next month, but everything went very well. Now it's just a matter of finding something to do. There is Balloons over Morgantown this weekend, so I know there are a series of launches this weekend. Other than that, unless Michelle wants to go to her High School Reunion we should be open.

Have yourselves a great day today.

This weeks picture is very special to me, it goes back to either 1971 or 1972 at Christmas time. You always remember your first bike and this was mine. I used to love this bike and it was one that was popular before 10 speeds became the fad, it was a 1 speed bike with a big banana seat. You would stop it not by the hand brake which are so prevalent in today's bicycles, but by pedaling backwards about 1/8th of a rotation it would lock the back wheel up to allow you to skid and have fun.

I remember that I had so much fun, they had to buy me a new rear wheel in a very short period of time and I remember it being a blue wheel that made blue skid marks.

Every child has that memory of their first bike ride, this was the day that I had mine. My dad pushed me from behind a couple of feet and then let go, it was when I looked back to see if he was still there was when I had my first bike wreck too.

I have many fond memories of riding this bike, specifically with my cousin Lynn at my Grandmothers. We would ride our bikes for hours on end in the church parking lot.

This bike lasted a few years before it was replaced by a new 10 speed bike, but I always kept it around and rode it at times as you couldn't really do wheelies on a 10 speed. This bike was much better to do tricks on, like getting it going real fast so I could just off and see how far it would go on its own, I called it the Ghostman Bike. My 10 speed was for riding, this one however was for for.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hump Day

Two days in under our belts, a couple more ahead of us, this must be the day of the workweek when we go up and over the noon time hump and work towards another fun filled weekend.

It now looks as though I will be off this weekend and will only be working my local section for RTI this week. My caseload which was about 75% of the way worked down from the section I travel to has been transferred to another FI for weekday attempts at getting it finished. It may come back to me, but my guess is she can finish it this week, meaning my time has opened up a little bit. I told my boss before that don't let me take food out of anyones mouth who depends on this job as their full time employment and we are way above goal for the year so some are scrambling for work. I'm not one of them anymore fortunately. Which means I can relax this weekend and that this quarter was arguably one of my easiest ones to finalize. Last year they also sent me east, but I don't think we will have trouble finding FI's who need the work at this point. I've watched my crew go from about 60th in the nation to #2 in the nation just during the time I have been with them.

Looking ahead for RTI, I will once again have to go for re-certification, as I will have to do every year, in St. Louis once again this year. This will be the second year in a row for St. Louis (site always change) and we had a great time last year and are a little more experienced about this city this year. My lovely wife Michelle, the now experienced airline flyer, will once again be going with me. We'll be finalizing the flights here in a few weeks, at that point I will buy Michelle's tickets so as she is on the same flight as me once again.

Last year the Gateway Arch was closed for construction, this year we intend on taking the journey to the top. It's the main reason I wanted to go back to St. Louis this year, next year however I'm hoping for someplace like Dallas.

Have yourselves a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well once again Monday is in our rear view mirrors and we are looking straight down the barrel of a Tuesday, can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits other than this next point.

* A very Happy Belated Birthday to Michelle's Dad's Mother, her Grandma Carpenter, as she became a Centurian reaching that milestone age off 100 years old. Her Husband is burried in Letart Falls where Michelle and I visited a couple of years ago. 100 Years is one heck of an accomplishment and I can't think of anyone in my family that have reached that age.

* It has been 19,696 days since my reported birth, or so they tell me.

* It has been 4,902 days since I graduated from West Virginia University, fulfilling a lifetime dream of mine.

* 3,503 days ago I asked Michelle out on our very first date many moons ago. I would say it was the day my life changed forever, but that could have been years earlier when I first saw her.

* 2,727 days ago I got down on one knee and proposed marriage and my life has been better ever since.

* It was 2,264 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, we got married and had a feast prepared for everyone.

* I have 5,158 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days or so here or there and depending on if I hit the lottery and become a mega millionaire, I'll retire that day if it happens.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass is only 1,804 days away, can't get here soon enough. You always have to hate Pitt.

* There are 394 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our magical Seventh Wedding Anniversary.

* We have 154 more days to go until Spring 2018, which is my favorite season of the year.

* 109 more days until Phil takes center stage again and pretends that a Groundhog is the worlds most listened to Weatherman.

* 76 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 Blog is posted where I recount 2017 based on what I have written in my blog. It has been a year of transition and change, so should be a good read.

* There are 69 more shopping days left until Christmas, Michelle has already pulled all of the Christmas stuff out and organized it.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 52 more days. If you use that antiquated 365 day calendar, this will be the 33rd Anniversary of it.

* I have written 5,022 blogs in what is now my 13 full years of being a Blogger and working towards 10,000. Only 4,978 to go!!!!!

* Nothing new on the Brother Search that has been going on for a couple of years, but we've hit brick walls everywhere.

* Nothing new on the Hall Family Tree, even though there are some updates and additions that do need to be made, I did just pay for another year of the service and will keep it going for at least one more year.

* Jim and Chris Paugh (Michelle's Sister) just had a new home delivered to their residence, they are going to demolish the existing structure once they have this new one hooked up. They are not allowed into it until everything is hooked up, so it's like this big Christmas Present in your yard that you can't open yet.

* Amanda and Joey have some new homeowners blues as well, they were planning on having a House Warming Party this weekend for the home they just purchased, but have had a major water leak and have not had water in over a week.

* The Steelers redeemed themselves yesterday, they knocked off the last undefeated NFL team in the Kansas City Chiefs to run our record to 4-2 on the season.

* WVU will be on the roads this coming week to play Baylor, Baylor hasn't beaten anyone this season and this could be a trap game, meaning we could get caught looking ahead due to their troubles. Let's hope they are focused on this weeks opponent.

* Michelle's 30th High School Reunion is this weekend, I'm not sure of she wants to go this year or not.

* 4th Quarter for RTI is going very well, I've really worked it down and have visited every place at least twice now. It's been a very productive quarter.

* We're talking about a Spring trip somewhere, an extended weekend where we go someplace to explore. We've been to DC a couple of times and to Niagara Falls, there are numerous possibilities.

* If you do not have a Federal ID, come January 22, you will need a passport to fly. Nine states are non-compliant but West Virginia is not one of those non-compliant states. We offer the Federal ID and the State issued ID. If you have a state issued ID, you will still need a passport to fly. Michelle and I both have the Federal ID and have been compliant with this upcoming act for a few years now.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I really need to get back on this.

* I hate snow. It's getting closer and closer to the time when it's ready to begin. I did speak with someone yesterday and they made the observation that fruit trees have been very productive this year, as is our Black Walnut Tree, which could be natures way of saying we are going to have a severe winter. I can see this happening this year, but I still hate snow.

* Have yourselves a great day.

* Hi ho hi ho

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that does in fact those things that many people get to enjoy as time off from work called the weekend (except for me this weekend), now it's time to stick our collective noses back on the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living.

It was a pretty good weekend for Michelle and I, we do have some black walnuts still drying and we are still trying to get that black ink off our hands from Saturday. I sure hope the payoff from trying harvest these are worth the payoff. The good thing is we did not overdue it on them. Just a nice little what I would call usable batch.

Michelle's 30th class reunion is coming up this weekend, but I'm not sure that she wants to go this year. We had planned on it and may still end up going, but that would be up to Michelle. I think she was a little upset with some of classmates this past week or so for some things going on on Facebook. Time will tell and we shall do whatever Michelle wants to do, but with Chad getting ready to move back in something tells me she has other priorities for this coming weekend. Time will tell.

Have yourselves a great day and a great start to the week.

Hi ho hi ho

Happy Birthday Brittany Dae Cummings

I would love to take this time out to wish my beautiful niece Brittany a very Happy Birthday today.

It seems like it was only yesterday that I was in the hospital waiting room watching an afternoon running of the TV show Who's the Boss as Kim was bringing this wonderful bundle of joy into the world. If my math is right, this would be her 27th Birthday, or as I like to put it, the 6th Anniversary of her 21st Birthday.

She is an amazing young women, graduating from West Virginia University a couple of years ago, she currently works for WVU Medicine as a scheduler.

If you get a chance to see or talk to Brittany today, make sure that you take a little bit of time out and wish her the Happiest of Birthdays today.

Happy Birthday Brittany.

Sunday

Here I sit on a semi-quiet Sunday Morning,. we are dog sitting Rocky and Lilly and Lilly and I are up at at em already. We are watching the Charlies Angels movie on the tube and collecting our thoughts for the day.

I have to confess I was working yesterday, so I recorded the game as I was out. I was listening to it while I was working and we were getting spanked and dominated by Texas Tech. I drive home and am talking to Michelle about all the work she did at the house yesterday all the while not turning on the TV. Michelle looked at her phone and much to my surprise, we were now winning 38-35 after rallying from an 18 point margin early in the 3rd Quarter to win 46-35 in front of a Homecoming crowd. From my understanding the crowd was electric and I even read where a friend of mine Chris Ostien (Steelers Trivia and Softball Teammate) said "Thirteen seasons of producing games at Mountaineer Field. Today was.... maybe the most memorable.... What an win. What an atmosphere. Still buzzing." It must have been special, I have it recorded.

Michelle did a great job of purging a lot of stuff from the back bedroom. Most of it junk the kids had left behind and was just simply taking up space. Old games and just large boxes full of junk we would never use again, to the trash it all went and organized it now is. Chad may be moving back in in the near future, so the purge really helps. No need keeping junk you're not going to use.

Michelle and I harvested some Black Walnuts yesterday, we have an abundance of them like never before, and once we identified what they were were grabbed them all up off the floor. We cleaned and washed about 3-4 dozen of them and have them drying now. It takes 2-4 weeks for them to dry, so we shall see. There are more out there that we picked up, not sure if we will clean them though as even working with rubber gloves, the black ink stains the hands.

Typical Sunday morning for us, we'll be heading out and doing our shopping and visiting Phoenix Bakery this morning, before I once again head my butt out to travel to do some more field work. During the week I am working locally, but on weekends I have to travel about an hour each way to get to the segment.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Homecoming Saturday Morning

Here I sit in a quiet household once again, I'm up early watching Orange County and catching my thoughts on the day.

It's homecoming weekend here in Morgantown, WVU takes on Texas Tech at Noon which means there are probably a few hundred people holding "I Need Tickets" signs around town. It the early morning, but my guess a few of them will show up pretty soon with the early kickoff.

Me and my day, I'll be heading out early this morning and traveling for work. I'll be out of town both today and tomorrow working and may be for the next few weekends. It gives me a couple of hours of drive time a day so there is the nice country trip during the fall foliage that the Government is paying me to drive through, so there are some perks for this job...lol. Of course I'll have to record the game today to watch it.

Michelle is going to Treasure Hunt/Purge the back bedroom to try to clear some things out of there. Chad may be moving back in with us in the near future. She found a few things yesterday that assisted her in decorating for Fall, and I'm sure there are many treasures back there that we have forgotten all about for her to sort through.

Have yourselves a great day today, and let's go Mountaineers.

Big Ole Hairy Friday the 13th

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday the 13th.

Looking for a little bit of football this weekend, well we have football this weekend. Riverside comes to Pony Lewis Field this evening to take on the Morgantown Mohigans, should be a good one. #2 and still undefeated (until they play the Mohigans) University High travels to Buckhannon-Upshur to try to continue their undefeated season and Clay Battelle travels up the road to Cameron for their game this evening.

Tomorrow, West Virginia hosts Texas Tech as we are going to try to stop a 9 game losing streak against ranked teams as the Mountaineers take on the Red Raiders. Special Teams play is the reason the Mountaineers have two losses so far this season, the Offense and Defense has played well enough to win, Special Teams may be one of the worst overall units I have ever seen on a Division 1 Football team. Any school, any year, they are just that under coached and unprepared.

No big plans for Michelle and I other than going out to dinner this evening like we do on every Friday Night, it's the one night of the week we plan on going out to dinner. Kind of like a little treat for a week of hard work.

Have yourselves a great day today.

This weeks pic is a very special one, but one very few people will real significance of, but it is significant to say the least.

The game is a WVU Baseball game, it was against a very good Texas team (who we beat) that played for the College World Series Championship that year if I recall. More importantly however, this was the last WVU Baseball game played at old Hawley Field. The next season the Mountaineers traveled around the state while Monongalia County Ballpark was being constructed. The night before the Governor signed the TIF at the Ballpark here that allowed for the construction of the new Stadium, but this was the last game that was played at Hawley.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Hump Day

Two days in (for some) and now all we have to do is get up and over this dreaded Noontime hump and it will be all downhill as we work towards another fun filled weekend.

We got Ice's windshield fixed yesterday, Safelite came to Michelle's office and fixed it there for us. It was just a freak thing driving down the parkway where a rock came up and hit the windshield, we just decided to have it fixed before it turns into something else where we would have to replace the whole windshield which considering we have the Eyesite on this car, the windshield is very important to keep clean and fully functional with no problems.

The Mountaineers will be at home this coming weekend when they take on #24 Texas Tech here in Morgantown at Noon on Saturday. The 3-2 Mountaineers will host the 4-1 Red Raiders and try to end a 9 game losing streak against ranked teams. We have not beaten a ranked team since 2014 when we beat #4 Baylor here in Morgantown. It's time for that streak to end.

Have yourselves a great day today, make a difference.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Gotta go back to work today, enjoyed my day off yesterday, but now it's time to go back to work and it's time for another Tidbits.

* Happy Anniversary to Angela and Moke McClain, they are celebrating their Seventh Wedding Anniversary today.

* It has been 19,689 days since my reported birth, or so they tell me.

* It has been 4,895 days since I graduated from West Virginia University, fulfilling a lifetime dream of mine.

* 3,496 days ago I asked Michelle out for dinner and a movie, I'm lucky after that movie choice to have gotten a second date...lol

* 2,720 days ago I got down on one knee and proposed marriage to a very special lady who has made my life better every day that we have been together.

* It was 2,257 days ago in front of our closest friends and family, we got married at the Marilla Center. Helped fulfill a friends bucket list to Marry someone.

* I have 5,165 days to go until I retire, give or take a few hundred days or so here or there and depending on if I hit the lottery and become a mega millionaire, I'll retire that day if it happens.

* The next Backyard brawl where we beat Pitt's ass is only 1,811 days away, I had to endure that ugly Panther gear Sunday at Heinz Field. May the Steelers should make Pitt get a stadium that they could fill up, like a Jr High stadium.

* There are 301 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Seventh Wedding Anniversary.

* We have 161 more days to go until Spring 2018. I'm already over winter and we are not even there yet.

* 116 more days until Phil takes center stage again and pretends that a Groundhog is the worlds most listened to Weatherman.

* 83 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 Blog is posted where I recount 2017 based on what I have written in my blog. It has been a year of transition and change, so should be a good read.

* There are 76 more shopping days left until Christmas. I actually bought our yearly Village item yesterday. We started this a few years ago and add something to it every year.

* My next Anniversary of my 21st Birthday will be in 59 more days. If you use that antiquated 365 day calendar, this will be the 33rd Anniversary of it.

* I have written 5,014 blogs in what is now my 13 full years of being a Blogger and working towards 10,000. Only 4,986 to go!!!!!

* Nothing new on the Brother Search that has been going on for a couple of years, but we've hit brick walls everywhere.

* Nothing new on the Hall Family Tree, even though there are some updates and additions that do need to be made.

* The Steelers game was horrible Sunday, I can't believe we lost that back. Ben threw two pick six's that put the nail in our coffin. The Gateway Clipper ride was nice as usual.

* Got a small hole in the windshild for LP on the parkway Sunday. Rock came up and hit it. We called Safelite and they are going to Michelle's place of business this afternoon to fix it.

* Things are going good at my regular job, it may be Christmas time for me as I might get to pick out a few new toys. $30,000 GPS is on my list as well as some software upgrades.

* 4th Quarter for RTI is well under way, I'm still chugging along and working my sections down. This might be the real start of a few week stretch where I won't have many days off from one job or the other. Hence why I just took the day off from both jobs yesterday.

* Peanut aked me yesterday "Meow Meow, meow meow meow, meow meow meow meow meow,  meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow?" Which basically translates into "Hey Dad, days are getting shorter and it's getting cooler, does this mean my meoutside time is going to be shrinking? " I speak fluent Cat-anese BTW.

* Would you believe I had a BSoD writing this blog? Not good, but good thing everything saved.

* I'm STILL converting some old VHS tapes to Digital Format for Trish. I am such a slacker.

* I'm going to put this out there and not sure if I have ever mentioned it before. I Hate Snow. Not a little bit, a lot.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Columbus Day

I am lucky as I work at a Federal Facility and today is a Federal Holiday called Columbus Day. Meaning they pay me to stay home and relax and not have to go to work. You got to love it when things like this happens. Ironically the first place many experts believe was Christopher Columbus's first stop was Grand Turk, which is usually the first stop on all of the cruises that we have been on.

After yesterdays Steeler game and working two jobs,  I think I am going to enjoy a little rest and relaxation from both jobs today and do some things around the house and or town and just generally take it easy and make it a me day. Not sure what I will get into, I need to make at least one phone call to the Physicians Office Center, but other than that I plan on it being as boring of a day as possible as tomorrow things get hectic again.

Michelle on the other hand, has to work today as does a lot of America. I know there are some companies at work who have to work today, but they are more site support and network type things. I'm one of the lucky ones who is off.

Have yourself a great day today, I plan on it.

Hi ho......not today.

Steeler Kind of Sunday

Well here I sit on a quiet Sunday Morning, I'm up early and I have no idea what is on the TV behind me and I'm collecting my thoughts on the day and preparing for the day.

Mine and Michelle's plans for the day, putting on one of our Steelers Jersey's, grabbing our Terrible Towels and heading to Heinz Field to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this afternoon at 1:00.

We'll head out earlier this morning and we have a parking pass for a garage on the North Shore, but we usually park at Station Square and ride the Gateway Clipper over, it's such a majestic way to enter Heinz Field.

We might head out early and partake on some pre-game festivities at Stage AE or just enjoy the North Shore until kickoff. Either way it's going to be a good day and we plan on spending it with the Steelers.

Have yourselves a great day today, make it a special one.

Saturday

Here I sit on a semi-quiet Saturday morning, Michelle and I are both up and ready to start our days.I'm up watching who knows what on the TV (I Think it is Hope Floats) She is playing with a Bose Soundlink Micro that we bought for her last night for her office so she can listen to music at work.

I'll be heading out and traveling this morning to do some field work, so this will be my seventh straight day working, however Michelle and I are going to the Steelers game tomorrow and Monday is Columbus Day (A Federal Holiday) so I might just take the day off from doing field work as well to recover from tomorrows game.

Being that we are traveling tomorrow and I am working today, my lovely wife gets to do our Sunday Grocery Shopping without me this weekend. With a change in jobs we changed roles in Sams Club Shopping, it used to be me doing it on Fridays while she was working later, now that has flipped I she gets off work when I used to and I get off work later in the day when she used to so we switched roles on Fridays. I guess my job as the home sous chef was downsized so the chef could take over the evening cooking duties as well. It has definitely been a year of change for the both of us.

I hope everyone has a great day today, I'll be missing the WVU Football game but that's OK, I feel what I am doing has purpose and maybe it is more important than a game I can catch up on in a box score.

Looking for a little football action? We have football this weekend. Tonight the Morgantown High Mohigans host Wheeling park at Pony Lewis Field. University hosts Hampshire and Clay Battelle travels to Paden City to play. College Football the WVU Football team is at TCU, Gameday on ESPN will be broadcasting from there, so Lee Corso could put a Mountaineer hat on, but TCU is favored and are a very good football team. Sunday Michelle and I will be traveling to Pittsburgh to watch the Steelers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Heinz Field.

I'm off from RTI today, but will be out early tomorrow and be putting in a full day before taking off Sunday and (gasp) Monday as well as it is a Federal Holiday and I'm off at NETL and I might just stay home from the RTI job as well as most people will be working during the day.

The Springs Festival is this weekend, although I will not be making it up there unless we go tonight. Not sure what Michelle's plans are for tomorrow, but obviously I will be tied up and working.

Have yourselves a great weekend, make it memorable.

This weeks pic goes back to 2010, Michelle and I had went to a WVU baseball game in the spring of 2010 and this old time looking dude stopped by and talked to us. I don't know how they let him into the game with a musket, but they even let him fire it a few times that day.

Actually the Mountaineer was Brock Burwell and he was a legacy Mountaineer. His Uncle was the Mountaineer years ago and Brock was the little Mountaineer when he was a young child and being the Mountaineer was his destiny. He had graduated but gave it one last shot after being the alternate for two seasons, so he tried again. He won it and was the best Mountaineer we have ever had in his two years of being the Mascot.

I had actually known him for a couple of years before this point, he went to church with a boss of mine plus he was a regular poster on Blue and Gold News, so I knew his back story before he was ever named the Mountaineer. I believe this baseball game was his first official outing as the primary Mountaineer as he won it during basketball season. Up until that point, I had never seen the Mountaineer at a Baseball game. Brock started a trend.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Rest in Peace Abdul Rehmani

This past Friday I got some disheartening news about a great man. Our extended family lost one it's most intelligent and cultured man. Abdul was an amazing man and he spoke seven different languages, built successful businesses on other continents only to have it stolen from him by corrupt regimes. Nothing ever seemed to stop the man and if he was anything he was always determined and planning his next step.

Abdul leaves behind his lovely wife Farida, two daughters in Samira and Nasrin and one son in Nihat or Nick as we all have come to know him.

Funeral services will be held today in Richmond Virginia as they are making sure he is buried as the is being buried as his faith Ismailism dictates. This was the closest facility that could follow his faith and enter him into his final resting place.

I have numerous fond memories of this great man, whether it be sitting and having very intellectual conversations with the man where I walked away enlightened with a wealth of knowledge that I did not previous know, or just talking about the simple things.

Abdul was a very self motivated man, when he wanted to learn a discipline (such as computers) he would be relentless and not only know how to do something, but why you do it and the consequences of doing in an alternative way. He did this on purpose as he wanted to fully understand everything. He was actually Cisco Certified, something he did later in life.

Anytime I ever sat down and spoke with the man, I always felt I walked away a better man and enlightened due to the time we had spent together. I could always get a perspective that I did not know or only imagined, especially in todays troubling times. Abdul was always the voice of reason and I consider myself a better man from knowing him.

My condolences goes out to Farida, Nick, Nasrin, Samira and all of their immediate families and friends during this time of mourning. You all have mine and Michelle's love, thoughts and prayers during this time.

Monday

All good things must come to an end, and that includes those fun filled things referred to as weekends, now it's time to stick our collective noses back on the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is that we do for a living.

Today is kind of an anniversary for me, it was 44 years ago today that I broke my leg in what has been the biggest accident in my life to date. It took months to recover from, a surgery, a pin in my leg, six weeks in traction in the hospital and 8 weeks in a combination of casts including six weeks in a body cast where I was immobilized from the shoulders down with the notable exception of my right knee and below. I ended up being a half an inch taller on my left leg than my right due to the traction and it's now starting to affect my hip all these years later. Sucks getting old...lol

Looking at my week ahead, it's work, work, work, work and work. It's going to be a busy week for me to say the very least. The good news is that next Monday (even though I will probably be out doing field work) is a Federal Holiday, so I do get a little bit of a break with the Holiday, I'll only work one job that day...lol

There is some word that Sean Hannity is going to broadcast from Morgantown on Wednesday. I've heard that Donald Trump is going to be his guest and it is supposed to be held at the Metropolitan Theater. I can see Morgantown being chaotic that day for one reason or the other if this holds up to be true, I'll just keep my butt on this side of town...lol

Have yourselves a great day today.

Sunday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm up watching "She's Out of My League" a movie that I have and collecting my thoughts for the day. Sophie is snoozing on my recliner and Peanut is around somewhere.

Today starts another busy quarter for me, I'll be heading out later this morning and traveling to a place that I worked this time last year to start my fourth quarter. I do have to say that I am about as least enthused by this quarter as I have been for any quarter that I have worked. I'm staying with it, I do enjoy what I do, but this is my 7th quarter that I will be working for RTI and the newness is starting to wear off a little. I do enjoy getting out and meeting people, that will never change though. I start a stretch that may see me have one day off this month and that will be next Sunday as we have tickets to the Steelers game.

Michelle and I did our civic duty yesterday and went out and voted early on the road bond issue that is currently being voted on and the actual voting day will be this coming Saturday, but we decided to get out and go to the old Mall and cast our votes before then.

We did find a butcher yesterday that deals in fresh meats that is across the state line but still local. Harry's Meats off of 857 seems to be exactly what we were looking for, you walk in and all the meat is fresh in the cooler and they have a big area off to the side where they are processing everything as well as a big smoker. The meat we brought back from Amish Country was so good that we needed to find something more local and I believe we have.

Have yourselves a great day today and make the very most of it.
