My Streak is Over

Well 33 straight days of working one job or the other has officially came to an end, and it was not intentional. My AC Adapter for my laptop from the RTI job has went bad and my laptop has no power. They are sending me a replacement and a replacement laptop today, but as of right now it in Louisville Kentucky. I was going to travel today to my out of county segment, but the laptop wont be here until this afternoon and that pretty much closes the window of opportunity to get anything done today, especially since WVU is playing this afternoon.

With that being said, I think Michelle and I are going to head to Ohio's Amish Country for the day. I know she has been wanting to go and this is our window of opportunity for that, so we're going to take advantage of it. Provided her Migraine that she was developing last night has subsided and she still feels up to making the trip today. If she does, we'll be heading out of here later this morning, but probably before most people wake up.

WVU Football is on the road today, they are taking on the University of Texas at Texas on a matchup of two top 25 teams. I suck at predictions so I'm not going to say anything and plead the fifth as to what I think the outcome will be. Both teams really need to win this game today, so it might be a game filled with some big hits on both sides of the ball.

Have a great day.

We're Coming Home

I can't believe I slept in this morning, but after a nice hot Jacuzzi last night I slept like a rock and got a great nights sleep.

We had a great day yesterday here in Amish County, we did find a couple new places that we liked. Sugar Valley Meats was one of the nrebulltew places we found, a butcher that we purchased  a variety of fresh meats from to throw in our freezer (Yes we have a very good insulated cooler with us).

Another new place we found was this antiques shop that I absolutely fell in love with. They had an old time pop bottle dispenser that had the handle that you had to turn to get your soda out and a pop bo/ ttle opener on it. They also had a number of  rebuilt old gas pumps in the store as well as a number of refinished pedal cars and other toys from my youth.

Other than that we did have a little bit of excitement leaving Heinis. We were behind a horse and buggy at an intersection, some inconsiderate driver was coming the other way and went when he shouldn't have spooking the horse (not the one in picture) causing to unexpectedly and abruptly back up. I threw the car in reverse, and started backing up but the horse was too quick and the buggy hit off our front bumper. The young kind Amish man was very shaken up and wanted to pay for any damages, but we assured him everything was OK. A little touch up paint should cover any nicks.

Have yourselves a great day today, we'll be heading out later this morning and returning home.  BTW this hotel is amazing maybe the nicest one we have ever stayed in, I highly recommend it if your budget allows.

I'm comimmg home. sometime today....lol

Road Trip

Hershbergers
My wonderful wife and I are off for a Road Trip to Amish Country in Ohio later this morning. We're going to go out today and even spend the night out there staying in a Suite at the Berlin Resort.

We chose this place to stay for a couple of reasons, one it is pretty much centrally located to every place we may be going and the room itself has a Jacuzzi which is something Michelle really wanted and I'm not going to argue against it. I am looking forward to relaxing in it later tonight.

I have made a map of some of our favorite places that we like to visit in Amish Country. There are other places that we have visited, but these are are favorites that we have went to. The last time we went out there we were determined to find new places that we had never been to before and we were more than successful at that and found a few places we loved and added to this list.

We'll do a little more exploring today and see if there are any other places we can add to our map. Last time we were out there we ventured out and found a few places that we are wanting to go back and revisit.

Have yourselves a great day today, live it to its fullest and make some memories.

Hump Day

Guggisberg, Home of Baby Swiss Cheese
Two days down, YES! Two More ahead of us after today. OK. Now all we have to do is get our working butts up and over this noon time hump and it's going to be all downhill as we work towards a three day Holiday Weekend. DOUBLE YES!!!!!

I'll be off this weekend, I will be enjoying all three days of it and Michelle and I are getting away this weekend. We have booked one of the remaining available Suites at the Berlin Resort. I have also mapped out some of our favorite places to visit, these are all places that we have previously visited and would like to return. There are other places we have visited, but these are the ones we would like to concentrate on as well as discovering some new places. The Resort is pretty much right in the middle of everything and staying there will give us a chance to enjoy a full days festivities without having to worry about traveling home. I really want to do dinner at Chalet in the Valley again, their food is phenomenal and I highly recommend eating there if you are in the area. It's right across from Guggisberg Cheese and is probably owned by the same people.

But that is me getting a little bit ahead of myself, we still need to get through this work week first.

Chad returned from New Orleans on Monday evening, He had a great time there and loved Bourbon Street. He got to see the Saints play the Texans in a Suite with a former Super Bowl Winning QB he spent the weekend with. Ace has returned to his home and Peanut (My Cat) is still a little cautious being we had a big white playful pit-bull here for the weekend.

Have yourselves a great day today, make a difference and do something that is going to change the world no matter how big or small it is.

Hi ho hi ho

Road Trip

Here I sit on a quiet Saturday Morning, I'm the first one to recover from the butt kicking I took from that dreaded Sandman last night and I'm up watching Sara Silverman on doing stand up on HBO and collecting my thoughts for the day.

It's going to be a road trip kind of day for us. We're going to leave early this morning and head out to Amish Country in Ohio, we would like to be at Breitenbachs by the time they open at 9:00 or just a little after. It's a little less than a three hour trip from here, so we'll be leaving here somewhere around 6:00. Michelle wants to hit Tis the Season and I want to hit a place we have never went to with Guggisberg where my favorite cheese (Baby Swiss) originates. Every time we head to the region we like to try at least one new place, that way the more we go there the better understanding we have of the area.

Update on Yesterday's MoHawk Bowl, The Mighty Mohigans spotted cross town rival University High a 21-7 Halftime lead before scoring the first 34 second half points to bring home a 41-28 MoHawk Bowl victory to claim the city's bragging rate for yet another year.

Looking for a little College Football, the 10th ranked WVU Mountaineers are in Stillwater Oklahoma this afternoon to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys with a noon kickoff time. I'll get my updates from Ohio on my phone, this will not be the first time I have done this. As Michelle shops tis the season, I usually sit outside and get game updates.

Have yourselves a great day.

Sunday

Well here I sit once again in a semi-quiet household. Fin is up playing around and I'm up watching the Longest Yard on Amazon and collecting my thoughts for the day.

Michelle, Brittany and I had a great day yesterday in Amish Country. This was Brittany's first trip to the Ohio Amish Country, she had been to Lancaster Amish Country, but never to the more modernized Ohio Amish Country where we always go. I think she had a great time and it was a very memorable day for all of us. I was able to watch a lot of the WVU vs Texas game on my ESPN Go ap as they girls shopped to their little hearts were content.

I mentioned a couple of nights ago that an old classmate of mine was on Real Time with Bill Mahar Friday night. Asra was on the main show as a special guest and on Overtime with everyone else after the show was over. It was nice to see it went well, she responded with a nice letter after the show to me and a few other classmates telling us about her experience and a few old stories growing up. It's worth the watch.

Our plans fort the day are doing our grocery shopping, running to Phoenix Bakery and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers whip up on the Cleveland Browns. It's been a great weekend son far, hopefully a Steelers win today will be the cherry on top.

Have a great day, it's a home made beef stew kind of day.

Saturday Morning Rambling

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, collecting my thoughts for the day and surfing the net. I'm up watching Real Time with Bill Maher that I DVR'd last night. Asra Nomani whom I graduated High School with was one of his special guests so I recorded it to to watch it, strange timing after the Terrorist attack in Paris last night.

Today, Michelle, my niece Brittany and myself will be heading West on a road trip to Amish Country in Ohio for a day trip. We have an agenda full of places that we are intending on hitting today, I know the one place Michelle really wants to go to is Tis the Season, a year round Christmas Store that she absolutely loves. I'm sure Breitenbach winery, Heini's  and you can bet your bottom dollar lunch will be at Der Dutchman as well as a few other places that we intend on hitting today.

Should be a great day, Morgantown should be crazy with the University of Texas coming to town today for a Football game at Noon. I think we have picked a real good day to get the heck out of Morgantown. We are favored to beat Texas, so there may be a whole lot of celebrating in Morgantown if that happens.

Have yourselves a great day.

Road Trip Kind of Saturday

Here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the first one to recover from that losing battle with the Sandman last night and I'm up early collecting my thoughts for the day and surfing the World Wide Web. Gracie is here and we are up watching Super Troopers and cooking Breakfast.

I'll be heading out here early this morning to go to the other side of town to pick up my Mom and then come back home and grab Michelle and pack up and head out on another road trip this morning.

It's going to be a day trip as we will return this evening and we're heading out to Amish Country in Ohio for the day. The weather is supposed to be beautiful and in the 70's today, so it's a good day for a road trip. This is one of Mom's favorite places to go, so we are going to take her out with us for the day and use her experience of the place to maybe help us learn a few new places that we have not seen yet or been to as well as stopping at a few of our favorite places for the day.

Michelle and I have been there twice, the first was when we went to the NFL Hall of Fame back in 2010 and I believe the second time was the following year right before our first cruise, but we pulled double duty that year as it was a family get together for Michelle's family was the primary reason we traveled there on that day.

On the way home we are planning on stopping at Di Carlos for dinner and even bringing one home. We always bring one home partially cooked then portion it out for Michelle as it is surprisingly one food that she has had absolutely no problem eating son she takes a couple of slices for her lunch at work. Freezing it gives her 8 different means when she desires it.

It's going to be a great day with a couple of special ladies, so I'll have my cameras with me  and our cooler bag ready to go.

Have a great day.
