As many of you know, I have committed to losing at least 15 pounds by March 31 as a sponsorship for Isabella's Journey. I want to share with everyone the advice I get, so that maybe it can help you in some of your lifestyle choice.
Update #2.
Hello Everyone,
I hope that the first week's habits are going well for you. This week we will be adding two additional habits that will add to last week.Week 2 Homework Assignment:
-Ditch the calorie containing drinks (including fruit juice) This week we will be getting rid of the calorie containing drinks. This includes fruit juice, alcoholic drinks, Turkey Hill iced tea, sodas, and yes even diet sodas. Studies show that people who drink diet sodas consume more calories throughout their day than those who don't. One factor is due to the fact that people assume that they can eat more because of the diet drink. You don't need it! The absolute best choices are water and green tea (not Turkey Hill Green Tea), the kind of green tea that you brew.
-A minimum of 1 meal per day must only contain whole foods. This means that this meal will not come from a package, wrapper, or box. The only exceptions will be packaged vegetables, and meat. So a sample meal might be a grilled chicken breast, with a sweet potato, and a side salad. I know I will probably get a million questions about this one so if you have to question what you're eating it probably doesn't fit the criteria. Note: Bread comes in a package. We're looking for natural foods, things like lean meats, fruits, and vegetables. You only have to do this once per day so I think you can handle it ;)
These two habits will be our main focus this week. As far as an exercise goal, let's shoot for 15 minutes of daily physical activity for 4 days this week. Again, examples include: walking, biking, jogging, hiking, etc. Just get out and do it! Be active and move! In addition we will incorporate some strength training that can be done anywhere. Please see the attached for the designated exercises. Please keep me updated on your progress and if you have any questions that need answered. Remember, I am here to help. Good luck this week!
