Photo Flashback Thursday

The Little Rock of Love aka Richard

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through all of the pictures that I have gathered through the years. Pictures that I have either taken myself, scanned from a hard copy or just stolen from someone else. It is a nice large collection that I now have both upgraded my capacity to 4 Terrabytes and added redundancy (That's another 4 Terrabyte Drive with similar information) to protect all of those precious lost moments in time. This is one of my favorite blogs of the week for two reasons, one it's getting closer to the weekend and two I get to take timeout and reflect a little bit. It's not always an easy or a hard task, but it is always enjoyable.

This weeks picture was an easy one even thought I stole it from Ashley. This is my little buddy (who will be coming to stay with us for the next week) Little Rock of Love or Rocky as he is really called. She snapped this picture of the little ball of energy last week and I just had to steal it and share it.

Rocky meets me every morning and evening to say hello with his sister Lilly (I think they come because I give them treats) and greet me. This is the little guy who got ran over by a car this past winter, but he has recovered and is as full of energy as they come.He is going to have surgery this fall, but not until after the Summer is over with so he can have fun and frolic while the weather is nice.

I have yet to meet anyone who just did not get instantly attached to this puppy. When Michelle's friend Shawn came to visit us from Iowa last summer, he wanted to take him back home with his as he was so much fun.

Have a great day, time to give to see my buddy and give out some treats.

Monday Morning

Well that fun filled thing that we work all week towards, you know that thing they call a weekend is now behind us and it's time to try to stick our noses back on the grindstone for another week of work. Working gives us the opportunity to live the lifestyles we like to live and pay our bills. Hopefully the roads are not too treacherous this morning.

I'm not sure if I have ever mentioned this before on my Blog, but I Hate Snow. Not a little bit, not just a gradual dislike, I hate the white powdery stuff that falls on our roads making travel less than safe and not to mention tearing our roads up leaving potholes everywhere. I'm ready for the springtime to commence.

Not too much planned for our week ahead, other than waiting out this brief storm, it's supposed to warm up by the end of the week so Winter is starting to fade a little, but you might want to ignore the white stuff all over the ground when reading this. LOL

Michelle is talking about heading back home for the day with Hayley this week, but that is just in the initial planing stages. I'll probably stay here and allow them to have a girls day together. Gracie needs a hair cut and Michelle's Mom doubles as the family's dog groomer.

Speaking of groomed dogs, the Little Rock of Love is groomed up and ready to doggie party. He's ready to doggie party.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household, I'm the first to recover from that losing battle with that dreaded Sandman last night. I'm up early watching Identity Thief on HBO and collecting my thoughts for the day.

Had a huge scare yesterday morning when I was heading out for work. My little buddy Rocky (pictured here) had met me at the back door for treats with his sister Lilly as he does every morning and evening. As I was leaving for work he met me again at the front door (he is very affectionate and loving).

After I pet him again, he takes off around the house and I head to my car. Next thing I know he takes off straight towards the paperboy walking  down the road. I immediately start to call to him but to no avail, he runs right across the road and starts barking at the paperboy.

After a few barks and me calling for him the excitement is over with and he decides to return back home. We line on a very busy blind turn and not one but two cars were coming as he was trying to return back across the street.

He managed to dodge the first car coming down the hill as the two cars slowed to avoid him, the second car had almost passed and I heard that heart dropping yelp as the second cars rear tires managed to clip him. I doubt the second car even knew he hit him since he is such a small and petites dog.

The paperboy immediately grabs him off the street and I wake Ashley up while yelling for Michelle. Rocky was crying in pain and I was crushed. Michelle was off yesterday so she and Ashley took him to see Dr. Goff to see the extent of the injuries and if he had to be put down due to the extent of the injuries.

Rocky was VERY lucky and must have the nine lives of a cat. He does have a broken pelvis, some road rash and can only stand on one back leg. Diagnosis, he will make a full recovery, he just needs a lot of rest and about six weeks to recover.

Last night this poor paperboy (an adult) had went to woofs and bought rocky some treats (I buy him treats in bulk) and stopped by the check on him.

Rocky is back home, well on the road to recovery expected to make a full recovery, but it was a scare. That was my little buddy. All I had to do was sit down and extend my legs and he would immediately jump up and lay down on my upper chest.

I'm thankful that my little buddy will fully recover and it was not any worse than it was.

Have a great day.
