Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here Kiwi and I once again sit in a quiet household, he's up wanting to discuss stock tips to me and wanting to invest in Edsel Motors, he thinks it's going to make a big comeback then he'll drop the stock and sell it. I'm telling you that bird has an active imagination.

If you are not doing anything tonight or would just like to find a really good cause to donate money towards, the Johnny Koon Light up the Night and Buttefly release is this evening at Westwood Middle School.  Lanterns and Butterfly's are just $5.00 was and make for a very photographic situation, so bring your cameras. Come on out, take a chance on winning some door prizes and raise some money for a very good cause. Weather permitting we will be there, so come on out.

Hayley and Tyler stopped by last night, they made a trip to Morgantown so Michelle ordered a couple of Pizza's from Pizza Al's as they came in for a visit. It was nice to see them, we haven't seen them for a couple of months due to busy schedules. I kept Peanut inside all day, knowing that if Hayley arrived when she was outside she would have taken off and hidden. So to avoid the headache, yesterday was an inside day for Peanut.

Have yourselves a great day, hope to see everyone this evening.

Wednesday

Hey, what do you know about that, two days are down and you have two more ahead of you and today is the day we get up and over that noontime hump and see the dawn of another weekend off in the Horizon once again.

It has been a pretty uneventful week for me so far, had an interview on Monday for a short-term project and may have a second interview this week to go a little further down into the weeds, should find something out today about that hopefully. It's a Federal Contract for the Department of Defense where they are basically blowing some excess funding to get it off the books before the next fiscal year, it's the use it or lose it mentality basically. I look at it as a chance to audition for another large company that had a NETL Contract 15 years ago. Willing to take a chance to open some doors up so basically all this would be.

A heads up to anyone who would like to go bowling on Sunday, the Johnny Koon Bowl-A-Thon, one of the annual fundraisers that the Koon family does that helps support WVU Children's Hospital. It is ongoing Sunday from 1:00-3:00 and bowling is only $2 per game and shore rental is free. Proceeds go to The Johnny Koon Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund at WVU Medicine Children's. It is a very worthy event that I have partaken in a few times, but anymore more of a spectator than a participant. Come out, get some exercise and raise a little money for a very worthwhile cause. All this takes place at Suburban Lanes here in Morgantown and there is always something to do.

Have yourselves a great day, make it memorable and special.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here Kiwi and I once again sit in a quiet household, he's all excited thinking he gets to chase the lanterns and butterflys tonight, of course he once thought he was a chef as well. It;s thre WEEKEND!!!!!!

Yep tonight starting at 6:30 at the Westwood Middle School the Johnny Koon Light Up The Night Lantern and Butterfly Release will be held to raise money for WVUs Johnny Koon Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund. John, Michelle and the rest of the Koon clan put this event on pretty much yearly to donate money to a very good cause. Lanterns and Butterflies are $5.00 each and are valued at a lifetime of memories. Come on out and spend some time with some great people, spend some money, watch my niece Amy win all the raffles, and while you're at it spend some more money as it all goes to a good cause.

I'll be heading out early this morning to the laundromat, Michelle is still battling the poison ivy we both got last week, so I'll give her a chance to relax and have a break. Other than that and tonight, no big plans for the weekend.

Michelle's Mom loves her mattress topper that e gave her. That hospital bed was really messing with her back and she could relax, so we took the old 4' topper that we had and split into 2 and covered it with a mattress liner to put on top of her bed. No more complaints of a sore back and she is resting more than ever now.

I hope to see some people this evening, have yourselves a great day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a Big Ole Hairy Friday.

Just to give everyone a little heads up, tomorrow night will be the Light Up the Night Lantern and Butterfly Release at Wesmon Park. All proceeds will go to the Johnny Koon research fund at WVU Childrens Hospital. This event has gotten bigger and bigger with each and every passing year, plan your evening tomorrow evening to take a few pictures, release a few butterflies and have a whole lot of fun as we raise money for a good cause.

Would you believe it, after three consecutive weekends of traveling, Michelle is home this weekend. It's nice to be able to see my wife every once in a while, I kind of miss her when she is away and building a career.

Have yourselves a great day today, maker the most of it.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit in a quiet household once again, we are dog sitting Chad's Pitbull Ace right now, and we are both up watching something on HBO and collecting our thoughts for the day.

Chad is in New Orleans for an aquatic show. He cleans and maintains saltwater tanks around town and he went down for the MACNA Conference for the weekend. He is down there all weekend with all his expenses paid and he flew first class yesterday, tomorrow he and the people that he is down there with will be attending a New Orleans Saints Game and will be in a private suite to enjoy the game. He is down there with a couple other people who are picking up his tab, one is one of Morgantown's highest profile residents and the winning Quarterback of Super Bowl 25 (hence the private at an NFL game). Experience of a lifetime for him with the Hostetlers.

Ace
Michelle is heading North here in a little while to surprise her Grandmother Ruth (Gigi) for her 96th Birthday. She is going up today and coming back tonight, she is also taking Ace (Chad's Pitbull) with her and dropping him off at Jon and Laura's for the weekend. Chad will get him back when he returns from New Orleans. EDIT UPDATE:, Ace is staying with us this weekend, there was a change in plans for Chad's flight yesterday so there was a change in plans for where Ace will be.

Me, I have to get Pearl inspected this morning, she is due for her annual state inspection and I have it scheduled to be done this morning at Hartsel's. I tried to get it done the past couple of weeks, but two weeks ago was move in day and they were all booked up last weekend so I scheduled it for first thing this morning.

After that I am going to take my last field day out in the field with RTI. This will be day 28 of my streak, and my last day of this streak as I am taking tomorrow off and they are taking my remaining case load and giving it to someone else for clean up. That means I will be off all next weekend and I'm doing the Happy Dance!!!!!!

The Johnny Koon "Light Up the Night, Lantern and Butterfly Release" is being held this evening at Westover Park starting at 6:30. All proceeds that are raised go to the Johnny Koon Brain Tumor Research Fund at WVU Children's Hospital. Lanterns and Butterfly's are $5.00 each, the memories that they create are priceless. Grab a few extra coins you have laying around and and enjoy the wonderful event.

Have yourselves a great day today, make a difference in this world.
