Saturday Morning Ramblings

Kiwi and Peanut wearing Pink
Here I sit in a quiet household, Kiwi and Peanut are both excited this morning, they are planning on doing the Breast Cancer Survivor Walk at Milan Puskar Stadium in support of Aunt Terri. They are both really excited to do this, Kiwi said he may fly the walk if he can't keep up.

Yes this morning is the Breast Cancer Survivor walk, this will be the second year Terri will be walking as a Survivor and her third year walking in it. When she was it diagnosed with it, she walked that year as well, but that was downtown. The past couple of years it has been at the Football Stadium. I'll be there with the camera in tow to grab a few pictures.

After the walk I think I am going to try to pull the Air Conditioner out of the bedroom window for the season. I left it in last year and they are kind of expensive to keep replacing, so I'm going to stick it in the garage for the winter. We were going to do it last week, but Michelle thought we would have some warm days this week which really didn't come.

I got a few messages from Daniel this week, some were pretty heart felt and in depth, like he just needed someone to listen to him. He's doing well, studying his butt off and trying to earn his Bachelors Degree so he is prepared when he gets out. He looks at life in a totally different perspective now, age snd missing so many memorable moments will do that to you. He does seem like he is on the right track.

Have yourselves a great day and letss go make some memories.

Sunday

Here I sit on a quiet Sunday Morning, Peanut is still napping and Kiwi is in his cage saying the Cancer Walk yesterday was a little much on him, he asked if it would be OK next year if he just flew it. I think his intentions are pooping on some people, so not sure him flying it is a good idea.

Speaking of the Cancer Walk, it had a really good turnout yesterday and Terri and her gang lead the entire pack from start to finish. I needed a checkered flag as they led the pack all the way around the field. The turnout was so good that they caught up and lapped some of the people at the end of the walk. She was a boot scootin and setting the pace. Mom and I enjoyed the race from the stands. Both Michelle and I did get our flu shots.

After that we ended up going to the old mall and voted. Turnout for that was surprisingly high, Michelle said her ballot was like #900 or so on the day, and it was pretty much crowded. I think a lot of people are voting early this cycle like they did in 2020.

Today, out plans are simply do what we do on any other Sunday. Do some shopping and prepare for the week ahead.

Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Kiwi and Peanut
Here I sit in a semi-quiet household, Kiwi and Peanut are up early talking about how they want to do the Breast Cancer Survivors walk this morning to support their Aunt Terri. They both lost their sister Sophie last week from a cat form of breast cancer and they want to do all that they can do to raise awareness and support the survivors of Breast Cancer. Aunt Terri is their hero, they told me so.

Yes the Breast Cancer Survivors walk will in fact take place this morning and it will be held at Mylan Puskar Stadium. Registration begins at 9:00 and the walk begins at 10:00. Park on the Silver Lot (where the facilities building is). The Monongalia County Health Department will be there administering flu vaccines and both Michelle and I will be once again getting g our vaccines there. Last year we were going to go and pay for them until we found out at last year's walk that the health department was doing them for free, so we'll take full advantage of the opportunity.

After the walk I told Michelle I would like to do my civic duty and vote early in the 2024 Presidential Election. That way I don't have to worry about any crowds on Election Day or it interfering with work. Monongalia County has four locations where you can vote early if you choose to go that route. I am officially endorsing Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz for this election. I'm a GIS guy and Tim Walz actually gave the keynote address at this year's ESRI Conference in San Diego.

The Mountaineers do play this evening, it's a 7:30 game I think and we are playing at Arizona.

Have yourselves a superfantastic day, make it a good and productive one.
