Tuesday's Tidbits

* Monday is now behind us and we are once again staring straight down the barrel of a Tuesday, can't think of a better reason to do a tidbits.

* I know you guys have missed this count, it has been 19,448 wonderful days since my birth, I'm lucky each week that that number increases.

* There have been 4,671 days that have gone by since I Graduated from WVU, it's amazing how quickly time goes by.

* It was 3,272 days ago that Michelle and I went out on our very first date together, she's still around so I must be doing something right for the first time.

* It has been 2,496 days since I proposed marriage to my wonderful wife, I enjoy each and every day that I get to spend with her, even if it is for only a few minutes.

* We are in day 2,033 of Marriage, we're still going strong, I love her with all of my heart.

* I have about 5,390 or so days to go until my retirement giving the current rules for retirement give or take a few hundred here or there and depending on how I feel.

* There are only 2,027 days to go until the Backyard Brawl in football takes the field once again. We're kicking some Panther tail.

* My buddy Phil the Groundhog takes center stage in 340 more days when he forecasts the weather on Ground Hogs Day. Damn rat did not do me any favors this year.

* I have 306 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 blog is written, that is my annual recall the year by what is posted in my blog blog.

* There are 300 more shopping days left to go until Christmas 2017, never too early to start planning.

* There are but a mere 276 more days to go until I celebrate yet another anniversary of my 21st Birthday.

* There are 221 more days to go until we once again attend the Springs Festival, weather permitting of course.

* Our next cruise is 194 days away, hopefully all goes better than planned unlike last year when we missed a port.

* There are only 160 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Sixth Wedding Anniversary together. I am the luckiest man in the world, but I think I've expressed that more than once here.

* In 142 more days Michelle and I will be attending WV Mountainfest. Already have our tickets for this years events.

* There are 124 more days to go until our 2017 Friends and Family Picnic.

* There are 116 more days to go until Calvin and Jeanetta's Wedding next June, she has put together this very informative website for everyone to use.

* My favorite season of the year is a mere 20 days away when Spring 2017 finally arrives. I'm ready for the warm weather, the birds a singing and and the smells of springtime.

* In 12 more days, we will set the clocks ahead an hour as the start of Daylight Savings time will be upon us. Come on Spring.

* This is my 4,775th blog that I have written for George's Journal in the now 12+ years that I have been writing it. One has to question sometimes if the redundancy is starting to wear on me.

* No work yest this year on the Hall Family Tree, I have been slacking on keeping up with it this year I will readily admit.

* Once again nothing new on the brother search, the DNA tests returned a few second cousins and beyond, but nothing close to a brother. I'm beginning to give up any sense of hope that he is alive or if he is that he is looking.his weekend, I

* I did speak with Pam this past weekend, seems she has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis

* Still no baby yet on the Giraffe Cam, I know Michelle has been eagerly awaiting its arrival.

* Eric and Kevin put out a new podcast last week, Kevin also won the greater Morgantown Media personality of the year.

* Are we really two whole months into 2017? Wow where did the time go and how quickly it all flies by.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

Well all good things must come to an end, for me that includes my two days off after working twelve straight, now it's time for me to go back into the office and we all need to collectively go back to doing what it is we do for a living.

I took the weekend off from working for RTI, but now I am waiting to see if there is any cleanup work to do in the area, if not we'll hang it up until the next quarter begins in April. I'm considering taking on another task within the project, but I would have to see what my regular work schedule offers me before I over commit to something and spread myself a little bit too thin.

You may wonder why I used a Giraffe in my picture. Well Michelle has been watching this live feed of a Giraffe that is about to give birth on Youtube, so that was my reasoning. If you are curious of the feed link, I have embedded it at the end of this blog post.

Have yourselves a great day today, live it to the fullest and make the most of it.

Sunday

Well here I sit once again in a quiet household, I'm the first one to recover from that losing battle with the dreaded Sandman last night and I'm up watching Concussion on Amazon while I'm collecting my thoughts for the day.

Well yesterday didn't go as planned, I wanted to head to Wheeling to visit my brother Gary, but he was committed to a job and had a couple of guys working with him, so we have postponed it a few weeks to where it is a day more viable to everyone. He seems to be doing well and has all kinds of work lined up to keep him busy which is a good thing.

So what does one do after a 12 consecutive day stretch of working? One where the weather was not as cooperative as it was the past week or so? One catches up on their power naps and that was my yesterday.Sometimes it's just nice to relax.

Grocery shopping today and getting ready for the week is on today's agenda.

Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit early on a Saturday morning, some might even still call this Friday night and believe it or not the household is now somewhat quiet as I'm up watching the movie Glory on some channel.

It's still a bit early to be planning our days festivities, but you never know what we may or may not get into. Michelle actually just went to bed for the evening and I got up after a 4 hour nap...lol. I would say that I'm up for the day but I know damn well that the couch is calling my name as I fall back asleep watching some kind of interesting movie, although Glory is not a movie that I would fall asleep to, it's one that would keep me up and interested.

The weather has been absolutely beautiful, especially for February which is unheard of for this time of year. Hopefully the weather holds up today and Michelle and I can get out do something and enjoy this wonderful weather that we have been having the past week or so together. The weather has been so nice that I actually wore shorts all weekend last weekend when I was working in Paw Paw. Now maybe Michelle and I can get out and enjoy it together doing something. Maybe a little geocaching, but who knows what we will get into.

Have yourselves a great day, the TV is calling my name for right now.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend.

Well after twelve consecutive days worked at one job or the other, I finally get a day off to relax tomorrow. I have to say that I'm doing the happy dance. It might just be a time to relax a little bit, but then again you never know what we may or may not get ourselves into.

Michelle is probably going to do our Sam's Club shopping for us today, that will leave this evening for me to treat her to dinner somewhere. We usually go out every Friday night, tonight shouldn't be any exception to that.

I am off this weekend, I transferred all of my caseloads that I had remaining to another Field Interviewer and I'm set for some time off until the next quarter begins on April Fools Day unless they want me to go out and do a little bit of cleanup work. I do get to relax a little now since it has been go go go since I came back from St Louis.

Have a great day today.

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through some of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet through the years and find one special picture that stands out. Little lost moments in time from yesterday caught with a Cameras lens and relived right here in my blog. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it consistently is however is a whole lot of fun.

This weeks pictures, yes there are two of them to make sure that I got everyone from last years team, are of the Whitetail Crossing old farts Senior Softball team from 2016 where we finished as the runners up in the league and the playoffs.

Great group of guys and these pictures were obviously taken on two different nights last summer. Hopefully we can put this team together again and play another season of Old Farts Softball this coming summer. Great group of guys and a great sponsor in Whitetail Crossing where I need to get back up there because Ron makes some of the best food inn town.

Have yourselves a great day.

Hump Day

Well it is day ten in a row for me, but the good news is I'm happy to report that after today, I have two days to go until I get a day off and have a weekend!!!! Now, lets get up and over that noon time hump and start that downhill movement.

I have to say that it was nice to be back in from the field and back into the office yesterday. I enjoy doing field work, but the places I was at had little to no cell phone coverage anywhere by any carrier. It was as if I had stepped back in time. The hotel I stayed at had very shaky internet coverage at best, so I really wan't able to do anything that took any time or band width as I had no idea when I would lose that s well.

Some good news, Michelle had a job interview yesterday and said she feels pretty good about it. We'll have to wait and see what they say before I go into any details. It could lead to a very solid career path with some very nice doors being opened up along the way. We'll keep our fingers crossed on this one.

As I worked this past weekend, Michelle went back home for a few days. Her and Laura are doing a little organization for Amanda's wedding that is coming up in the near future. I know Michelle said they are talking about having a big cookie baking weekend in the near future to bake a number of the cookies for the cookie room. Michelle and I had a cookie table at our wedding, Amanda and Joey are going to have a cookie room. Yum!!!!

Have yourselves a great day today.

Monday

I will be working out of the area the next few days and I'm not sure what my availability will be and how much internet access that I will have. With that said I'll be pre-writing this weekends blogs instead of live blogging.

Well today is President's Day, and the third day of my three day weekend from my normal job, but I'm still out here in Berkeley Springs ready to put in another day of working out in the field. The good news is that after I'm doe today, I'll be heading home to be with Michelle and prepare to start another work week at NETL.

A Special thank you to Michelle, for without her I would not have been able to get out in the field and get any work done this weekend. This is a study that is very much important and I really do believe in. So much so that I sacrificed a three day holiday weekend with my beautiful wife to come out here and collect data for a study that affects each and everyone of us. If I did not feel that collecting this information was very important, I wouldn't be out here doing this.

Let's get this day started so I can return home to Michelle tonight.

Absent Sunday

I will be working out of the area the next few days and I'm not sure what my availability will be and how much internet access that I will have. With that said I'll be pre-writing this weekends blogs instead of live blogging.

Well I am staying in Berkeley Springs and I will be here once again tonight as I prepare to work for tomorrow as well.  I'll have a bit of a relaxing morning today as I will not head out as early as I did yesterday to travel here. Being it is Sunday people are probably going to be in Church and doing that family thing, so I won't start knocking on any doors until after church lets out.

Michelle will be heading home today or tomorrow from Laura's to do the grocery shopping and take care of everything at the house as I'm out here in the field. I am so lucky to have her and without her me doing this would have been nearly impossible for me to accomplish and be able to stay on my normal routine.

Have yourselves a great day.

And I'm Off

I will be working out of the area the next few days and I'm not sure what my availability will be and how much internet access that I will have. With that said I'll be pre-writing this weekends blogs instead of live blogging.

Well today I am on the road to Paw Paw West Virginia to do a little bit of field work. We have a large untouched section to do and I will be sacrificing my three day holiday weekend to come travel and work all weekend. I'll see how many of these lines I can knock out in the next three days before I return home Monday evening. I volunteered for this and sacrificed a Holiday weekend over a week ago, so there was nothing influencing my decision other than being a good team player and wanting to help out with this study as best as I can.

Paw paw is a couple hours away from Morgantown and I'm not going to waste half of my day traveling back and forth. Therefore I will be staying in Berkeley Springs this evening. It's just a short distance from Paw Paw so I can get up tomorrow morning and hopefully hit it pretty hard.

Have yourselves a Great Day.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend and a three day holiday weekend at that, but not for me as I'm working this weekend.

Michelle will be heading back home tomorrow morning for a few days as I travel East to work for the next three days doing field work. She and her sister are going to meet up at her niece and nephews home to help start planning Amanda's (another niece) wedding that is coming up pretty soon. She has a bunch of supplies to take up with her as they start with their prep work.

Hayley and Josh will be home taking care of the animals as we both go out and live it up...lol Funny thing is that West Virginia has a nudist colony called the Avalon in Paw Paw, so this should be interesting to say the least. I will actually be staying in Berkeley Springs which is just right up the road. I'm just hoping that I have an internet connection or my blog could be dead for a couple of days.

Have yourselves a great day.

This weeks pic really is not that old, it's from the beginning of the year when Michelle and I went to St Louis for a few days for me to get certified to work in 2017 for RTI. This picture is actually on the plane trip to St Louis, this was the first time that Michelle had ever been in a plane and this was her first drink that she had ever had on a plane...lol

She is an experienced flyer now as she now has three flights under her belt. This one, then one from St Louis to Dulles and then from Dulles to Pittsburgh on our return home from St Louis. She had a great time out in St Louis and I know that she was very nervous on our trip out initially, but she did great and is a seasoned veteran now...lol

Hump Day

Well that is two days down, we have a couple more ahead of us, now all we have to do is get up and over this noon time hump and we will be on our way to another fun filled weekend ahead.

Well I did learn yesterday that my weekend will be full of traveling and working another job. It's going to be a three day weekend from my career job, with President's Day being Monday, so I have volunteered to travel to Paw Paw WV to work Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I don't know much about Paw Paw, but I'll take a camera down and try to get a feel for the area and learn a few new things about it.

I'll be heading down early Saturday Morning and Michelle is going to head back home for the weekend to spend a little bit of time with her family up there, so I guess it's a good weekend for me to travel and work to make a little bit of extra money. I haven't had the most productive quarter working in the field, maybe this can make me feel like I've actually accomplished something this quarter.

Have yourselves a great day today.

To My Wonderful Valentine

I would like to say that I feel like the luckiest guy in the world, I have someone very special in my life who is my best friend, my lover, my soulmate and my wife and they are all tied up into one very special lady, my Wife Michelle.

Michelle is the absolute love of my life, she is my inspiration and the reason I am who I am today. She is my rock and the single most important person who has ever entered my life.

So on this day I consider myself very lucky, for not only the things that I listed above, but for the simple fact that this special lady is my Valentine.

I would love to wish my wonderful wife a very Happy Valentines Day today. I hope your day is as special as mine, because I have you.

I Love You and Happy Valentines Day!!

Monday

Well here I start probably a long stretch of consecutive days working, it's time to stick our collective noses back on the grindstone for another fun filled week and extended week of doing what we do for a living.

Next weekend is a Holiday weekend and Michelle is talking about running back home, I will probably be heading to Paw Paw, West Virginia to do some field work for RTI. It's a section that we have not touched yet this quarter and we need to hit it pretty hard to get it done. They asked me to go last weekend but I made myself to available for this upcoming weekend instead.

Michelle has a follow up Doctors appointment for the tests that she had done a couple of weeks ago on Tuesday. We'll find out the results of the tests and make a plan to address them and move forward from that point on.

Have yourselves a great day today, live it to the fullest.

Sunday

Here I sit yet one again on a quiet Sunday Morning, I'm the first one to recover after being the first one knocked out by the dreaded Sandman last night. I'm up watching Kung Fu Panda 3 on Netflix and trying to open my eyes for the day while collecting my early morning thoughts on the day.

It's going to be a slow week for me doing field work, I am out in the field tomorrow afternoon to do a couple of interviews, but other than that I am pretty much done with my sections for this quarter and am just waiting on the clean up phase. They are talking about having me travel to Paw Paw this coming weekend to work.

Other than that it's just going to be a normal Sunday afternoon here, grocery shopping this morning and probably not getting into much of anything this afternoon. Sometimes lazy days or power lounging days are nice.

Have yourselves a great Sunday and make the most of it.

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Here I sit on a quiet Saturday Morning, I'm up early watching who knows what on HBO and collecting my thoughts on the day. I'm the first one here to recover from that knockout blow by that dreaded Sandman last night.

I'll be heading out briefly this morning to do a little bit of field work, I only have a few households to visit as this quarter has wound down and it's time to start the cleanup process. We'll have another quarter starting in April, which will make it one year since I started doing field work for the SAMHSA Project.

I'll just say this much without going into any detail, when one door closes, another one opens. It's just the beginning of a new chapter in the book of life. Be thankful that door that closed was opened at the right time just as the next door will open at the right time for possibly a better situation and a new chance to grow.

The WVU Men's basketball team takes on Kansas State today at noon, the Mountaineers will be trying to extract revenge from the loss a few weeks ago and capture the 20th win of the season.

Have a great day today and enjoy it to the fullest.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend.

Friday has to be my favorite day of the work week, it's the day that we are most cheerful and the most Happy. There's just something to knowing that you don't have to wake up as early tomorrow as you do during the work week.

I got a chance to talk to my Brother Gary yesterday. He's doing great and said he has enough work to last him until the end of the year, but the market out there is growing and I really think he is in the right mindset to conquer it with his skills and the drive that he is showing right now. He's wanting to get together with everyone in the very near future, maybe grab a pizza some place and sit down and BS. He does sound good and sounds very positive with a positive outlook.

Mountainfest has announced their acts for the 2017 season. Hank Williams Jr and George Thorogood will be the featured acts. Hank's been to Morgantown many times previously and I have seen George Thorogood at the Feaster Center in Fairmont, loudest concert I have ever been to and I think my ears are still ringing from that concert 30 years ago...lol. Something tells me I'll be going this year, probably the fact that I already bought our tickets!

I'm not sure if I have ever expressed how I feel about a certain weather phenomenon previously on my blog, but just in case no one knows my viewpoint on the subject, I hate Snow.

Have yourselves a great day and melt this snow away.

He is friends with a guy who does a lot of business with BFS, so he stops in on some of his customers from time to time to see how they are doing. He did invite us to attend a Marshall Football game with him, but we have never taken him up on that offer as of yet.

Michelle is always happy to see Bob though when he stops in.

Have yourselves a great day today.

Hump Day

Well that is two days down, two more ahead of us, now all we have to do is get up and over this noon time hump and it will be all downhill working towards another weekend.

I had a little mishap driving to work yesterday morning, I ended up popping a rear tire on my car and it was way beyond repair. I had to to run to Sams Club and ended up getting 4 new tires put on LP as the other rear tire was worn and the tires they had in stock did not match the ones I had on the front. My Subaru is all wheel drive, so I had to match the tires up. I got a great deal and am very thankful that it didn't blow out on someone else driving. I ended up going with 4 new BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 A/S tires. More than anything I'm glad it all worked out for the best.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm ready for Springtime to get here. I'm ready to have warm weather, trees a budding, birds a singing and going out and doing my field work in shorts. I'm ready for weekend picnics and spending a little extra daylight hours with my wife. I'm ready for trips to Ohiopyle or Blackwater Falls and I'm ready to enjoy some out door activities. The Super Bowl is over, give me Springtime!!!!

Have a great day.

Tuesday's Tidbits

* Well the Super Bowl is over with and we're still talking about it, time for a tidbits.

* I know you guys have missed this count, it has been 19,427 wonderful days since my birth. Still going strong looking ahead and still hating snow.

* There have been 4,650 days that have gone by since I Graduated from WVU, it's amazing how quickly time goes by and I still hate snow.

* It was 3,251 days ago that Michelle and I went out on our very first date together, she's still around so I must be doing something right for the first time.

* It has been 2,475 days since I proposed marriage to my wonderful wife, I enjoy each and every day that I get to spend with her, even if it is for only a few minutes.

* We are in day 2,012 of Marriage, we're still going strong, I love her with all of my heart.

* I have about 5,410 or so days to go until my retirement giving the current rules for retirement give or take a few hundred here or there and depending on how I feel.

* There are only 2,048 days to go until the Backyard Brawl in football takes the field once again. I was hoping for a WVU Pitt Bowl matchup, but I'm patient.

* My buddy Phil the Groundhog takes center stage in 60 more days when he forecasts the weather on Ground Hogs Day. Damn rat did not do me any favors this year.

* I have 327 more days to go until my Goodbye 2017 blog is written, that is my annual recall the year by what is posted in my blog blog.

* There are 321 more shopping days left to go until Christmas 2017, it may be a little early but hey, someone has to do the countdown.

* There are but a mere 297 more days to go until I celebrate yet another anniversary of my 21st Birthday.

* There are 242 more days to go until we once again attend the Springs Festival, I'm itching to go up there again soon if not to the other Amish Country.

* Our next cruise is 215 days away, hopefully all goes better than planned unlike last year when we missed a port.

* There are only 180 more days to go until Michelle and I celebrate our Sixth Wedding Anniversary together. I am the luckiest man in the world.

* There are 145 more days to go until our 2017 Friends and Family Picnic.

* There are 137 more days to go until Calvin and Jeanetta's Wedding next June, she has put together this very informative website for everyone to use. Michelle and I need to get around to booking our hotel room before long.

* My favorite season of the year is a mere 41 days away when Spring 2017 finally arrives. I'm ready for the warm weather, the birds a singing and and the smells of springtime.I Hate Snow in case no one ever noticed.

* In 33 more days, we will set the clocks ahead an hour as the start of Daylight Savings time will be upon us. Come on Spring.

* This is my 4,754th blog that I have written for George's Journal in the now 12+ years that I have been writing it.

I'm beginning to give up any sense of hope that he is alive or if he is that he is looking.

* It was nice to get back to normal this past weekend with Michelle, our normal routine and schedule for the first time in a while.

* I have gotten addicted to a simple game on the internet, Slither.io was an app I started playing when Michelle was in the hospital to pass the time away. I find myself still playing it.

* Insert random made up bullet point here, better yet I comment if you read this =)

* Have I ever mentioned before that I Hate Snow!!!!!....A Lot.

* Have yourselves a great day.

Monday

Well all good things must come to an end, and that does include those fun filled things that we refer to as weekends. Now it is time to take our collective noses and stick them back on the grindstone for another fun filled week of doing what it is we do for a living.

Michelle and I tried to go to the new Popeye's Chicken here in Morgantown yesterday, needless to say the line was still around the building and the restaurant was at capacity. We were not going to wait all day to not be able to get in and eat, so we made other plans. I swear if you opened up a new chain restaurant, all you would need to do is open for a month and then sell it as your sales will be out of the building. We'll try again in a few weeks.

Looking at the week ahead, I'll be out one day this week for RTI plus Saturday Morning. I'm winding this quarter and may soon be done until April. People just have not been as receptive as people were last quarter. Maybe it's just the time of the year, or maybe it's just the regions I am work, but I will say that this has been my least productive quarter that I have had since I started last April.

Have yourselves a great day today and make the most of it. Check out last nights Super Bowl Commercials on Youtube in case you missed them.

Super Bowl Sunday

Here I sit yet once again in a quiet household, I'm up watching A Night at the Roxbury on the boob tube and collecting my thoughts for the day as I surf the net.

It's a normal Sunday for us, Michelle and I will go and do our normal Sunday Morning routine for the first time in 2017 today. For one reason or another our past four weeks we have had to move our schedules around for one reason or another, today everything finally returns to normal.

This evening is the end of the NFL Football season, it's the Super Bowl. The New England Patriots will be playing the Atlanta Falcons for the coveted Lombardi Trophy. As much as I would like to see Tom Brady and the Patriots go down, I think they will dominate this matchup and capture another Lombardi Trophy. They are 3 point favorites, but I have a feeling this will be Tom Brady's swan song of his career and he will have a dominant performance.

Have yourselves a great day, enjoy your Super Bowl Parties, the special foods that will be prepared and most of all, all the great commercials that will be debuted today as this is also the Super Bowl of Commercials.

Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Rambling

Here I sit on a quiet and cold wintry morning, it's a blazing 18° degrees outside and I am trying to restart the fire in the fireplace that we had burning last night. I'm up early collecting my thoughts for the day with the TV on in the background playing who knows what.

I'll be going out this morning to do some field work, trying to eliminate a few more lines from my roster as the quarter keeps a rolling. I've worked this one down and now it is just a matter of trying to find the people home that just aren't easy to find at home. This is the point of the quarter where there are a lot of redundant visits to people who are just difficult to find at home.

Josh has some time off from work so he has went back to Ohio for the weekend. He's been working his butt off on some very long shifts since he started his new job, and is taking a little time to go back home and visit his Grandfather.

The WVU Men's Basketball team takes on Oklahoma State this evening at 5:00 at the WVU Coliseum. WVU beat them 92-75 at their place earlier this year, so hopefully Coach Huggins and the Mountaineers can bring home their 19th win of the season. Speaking of Coach Huggins, please go and vote for him in the Infinity Coaches Charity Challenge. The higher he places the more money that comes to Morgantown for Cancer Research with money donated to the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund. Go vote and bring some research money to Morgantown to battle this ugly disease.

Have yourselves a great day and do your best to stay warm.

Big Ole Hairy Friday

Yes it is once again that time of the week that we all look foreword to, when we can take time to cease the labors for the week and take a little bit of needed time out to enjoy the fruits of those labors. It is once again the dawn of another weekend.

Well I worked last night for RTI, that was the first evening that I have made it out for them in a week. The little bit of a break was nice, but we're back at it. I'm off this evening and will be out in the field once again tomorrow morning.

Michelle has been doing well since she was released from the hospital, she has a few follow up Doctor appointments in the next few weeks to find out any results from any tests that they took.

It's the biggest NFL Football Weekend of the year coming up, even though I'm not happy my team is not playing this week it is in fact Super Bowl Weekend where the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons will do battle for the Lombardi Trophy Sunday evening. I may not pay too close of attention to the game, but I'm sure the commercials are going to be out of this world. If I were to make a prediction I would say New England in a dominant performance, I hate them, but you have to respect them.

Have yourselves a great day today,

Photo Flashback Thursday

Once a week I like to take a little bit of time out and look through some of the pictures that I have either taken, scanned or stolen off of the internet through the years and find one special picture that stands out. Little lost moments in time from yesterday caught with a Cameras lens and relived right here in my blog. Sometimes it's pretty easy to find that one special picture and sometimes it's not that easy, one thing it consistently is however is a whole lot of fun.

This weeks picture is from when Michelle and I visited the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum last spring. We were minding our own business on the tour and who shows up? My buddy Phil had somehow gotten there to join us. Rumor has it he flew in the Groundhog Helicopter to be with us. He did keep his distance from us though.

As we were touring the back yard of the facility we seen Phil running around. Nothing more to say about this picture other than it's Groundhogs Day and Phil's big day to take center stage.

Have yourselves a great day and Phil, wear sunglasses.

Pre-Phil Appreciation Day

Yes today is Wednesday, Hump day to many as it is in fact the middle of the workweek and we just have to get up and over a noon time hump as we start to work downhill towards the fun filled weekend.

However, this is also a very special day. A day when my old Buddy Phil, King of the Groundhogs and all they he sees, will let us know what our future holds with respect to the next six weeks worth of weather. It will be Groundhog Day and Phil's day.

For College Football fans, today is a very exciting day as well, it is National Letter of Intent Day. Meaning all of that work coaches have put in in the last year in regards to recruiting, now will officially come to fruition as this is the day that High School kids make their college choices for next season binding by signing their National Letters of Intent. For recruiting Guru's this is the day you have been waiting for all year, who is going to honor their commitments and who is going to do a last minute flip. What surprises does tomorrow have in store and for what teams. It will be an interesting day to say the least.

Have yourselves a great day today and make the very most of it.
